Okay… surely, these Genin all had a question or two about either their new Sensei or the plan forward from today. Hon was ready to answer them… hopefully, he was being a good sensei. Like his old sensei. A role-model and someone who could be looked up to. These were big shoes to fill, but one step at a time. They surely had questions. All kids had questions…
… Itsuki just disappeared out of nowhere.
Nah, no, this activated almost every cell in Hon’s body to flicker a singular spark of electricity, a sign of his specialized Ninjyūken taking effect. Itsuki’s speed was remarkable, especially thanks to the
Shunpo, but Hon had his eyes on him. It was smart of Itsuki to move before Hon even had the chance to activate his Byakugan, but his sensei was still far too battle-hardened to miss such an attempt at blindsiding.
It would appear as if a blur arced around Itsuki’s form, with the sound of a fresh, gentle wind echoing behind the young boy’s ears. If Itsuki decided to use
Shunpo, then Hon responded with
Fuippo. His body appeared to turn into a sharp wind, and three quick
Shōtei strikes were launched towards Itsuki’s two shoulders and forehead to throw him off in the middle of this ‘windy’ maneuver. Fuippo could have been used to deal far more damage, since Itsuki’s Jutsu appeared to leave him so open, but this was just the beginning of their training. Yes, training. Take it a little easier, Hon. Besides, they had all day to get the bells… he… he remembered to tell them that, right?
Anyway, now Hon was right behind him, with bluish chakra emitting from his palm.
"Goo-"He didn’t even have time to complement the young man. Hon-sensei stood still and witnessed the approach of an orange light that was charging towards the two – in the quick dash, Tokaku had decided to cast a huge Fireball Jutsu to char the sensei to dust. That was a large, comet-shaped orb of fire that was heading their way – it could engulf both Hon and her own teammate. Not cool.
Hon slithered a long arm around Itsuki’s chest and leapt away in a flash, before the large fireball could hit any of them. Instead, the orb of fire spread out, charred the ground below, and ascended the flames in a wide expansion of heat before quickly dissipating. And Hon was nowhere to be seen…
Itsuki was let go next to Tokaku, and Hon would now stand behind them a dozen meters away. It required impressively high speed to dash away like that, but it also pushed Hon to take this practice seriously. How did his old sensei manage to make this look so easy? Or was Hon just holding himself back because of fear or worry?
Either way, he looked dead serious.
"You will not beat me without each other’s help… please refrain from injuring your own teammates, Tokaku. Otherwise-” Hon wondered if Asuka was ready to join up in trying to get the bells herself, he kept his eyes open. And with a single handseal…
The veins appeared, and his eyes whitened. They would all know what that meant.
"You'll start bringing back old memories. Of the Ghost of the Leaf." His chakra was so easy to regulate with his skill in Chakra Control, but it also emitted itself as an aura of dread. Like the kind you'd feel when visiting a graveyard on a foggy morning.
OOC: Abilities Active \/
Byakugan
Every member of the Hyūga clan possesses the Byakugan, and so does Hon – even though he’s a member of the Side Branch, his eyes are just as refined and honed to perform their duties as those of a Main Branch member. They grant him a near 360-degree vision around himself; the exception being a blind spot/angle at the back of his head through his optic nerve. When his eyes are activated, Hon can see through solid objects, pinpoint areas of interest around him in almost an instant and protect himself from stealth users who hide behind objects or simply attempt to sneak up from behind. A total range of 6 kilometers around him can be covered by his field of vision.
As other Byakugan users, Hon can see chakra in its pure form as white-greyish flares inside or surrounding shinobi and/or their equipment. He can see the entire Tenketsu system inside a shinobi’s body – along with every Tenketsu that they have down to terrifying detail. Hon's eyes are sharp enough to distinguish the chakra of two or more different people present, see through invisible chakra constructs, see if someone's caught under a Genjutsu, and tell if microscopic organisms are present by bursts of chakra escaping them.
Enhanced Speed
Hon has been rapid and fast on his feet from an early age, and every Hyūga is aware that the Gentle Fist’s greatest strengths are its subtlety and speed. His movement speed is absurd, and it aids him both when travelling and when in combat. He’s extremely skilled at overwhelming or outpacing his opponents with blinding speed, always making sure to move faster than his foe at any point during a fight or attempt to do so.
Enhanced Chakra Control
Almost every Hyūga has learned a great deal of Chakra Control. Hon, like many others, has practiced the Gentle Fist for so long that his Chakra Control is incredible. With a limited supply of chakra, he can spend it with zero waste, and he can easily find out what amount of chakra is needed for a Jutsu in no time. This allows him, for instance, to use Tree-Climbing and Water-Walking for much longer periods of time compared to shinobi with the same pool of chakra (but less control of theirs), and it also grants his Gentle Fist Techniques that extra cutting edge and surgical precision in density that is needed to exploit the façade of its soft, almost painless-looking blows. It lets him channel chakra through objects and weapons with ease, as well - especially weapons who are already imbued with Chakra-Conductive or Chakra-Reactive materials.
Jutsus Used \/
NAME: Fuippo [Wind Step]
RANK: C
CHAKRA USAGE: Medium
CLASSIFICATION: Taijutsu
ELEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION:
The wind step is a maneuver used to dodge many simpler attacks as well as intimidate the opponent. The user will move their body at high speeds while applying a layer of chakra over their body. When performed correctly, it gives their body the appearance of visible wind while also allowing them to attack from multiple directions, allowing them to multiple blows within a few seconds. However, the user still retains some small amount of visibility to the opponent which can cause them to be countered by someone with enough skill in fighting taijutsu users (have to be taijutsu secondary at least).
NAME: Shōtei [Palm Bottom]
RANK: D
CHAKRA USAGE: Very Low
CLASSIFICATION: Taijutsu
DESCRIPTION:
The user thrusts their palm forward, hitting the enemy’s body with a quick and precise motion. The technique is both basic and deadly; this is because like any other Gentle Fist technique it injects chakra into the target causing a great deal of internal damage. When the technique is used it usually temporarily paralyzes an opponent but the collateral damage is not on par with much more elaborated techniques.
