It would be one thing if her first mission out of the great depression was one that sealed with the Himishi clan, but that wasn't the case. It was protecting the mines from unprecedented threats, something that was surprisingly common. The odd part to her, as always, her debriefing simply mentioned she would be working with an Okada. Rising out of bed, careful not to wake Ren, she looked at the mission scroll before activating her Tomekenzangan. Her violet eyes looked the entire scroll up and down before she promptly closed her eyes, opening them to show her regular ruby hues.

Getting out of bed cautiously, the Himishi got ready for the day's mission, gearing up to not take any chances while she carried on her daily ritual to get ready. I swear to fucking god, if it's Taki again, Iwagakre hates me. The Himishi thought as she opened the door to get out, locking it behind her before making the journey out of the Nōhime compound. Once successfully out, she kept her eyes low as she was making her way to the village gates. All she had to really look out for is blonde hair, which wasn't as common as people thought it was.

Haruka kept cracking her joints, worried if she was particularly ready for the sheer muscular activity she had to do. She was pretty certain she was but things haven't always worked out the greatest. Once the Himishi was at the village gate's, she awaited for her supposed partner, casually glancing to see if he appeared yet.

What started as easy D-Rank missions just putting up posters or helping with construction here and there had slowly turned into ones with potential danger such as fighting other shinobi (albeit in spars) and now searching mines and ensuring they were clear of beasts, vermin, and stowaways. It wasn’t quite what he would have liked, but it was still better than sweeping the streets and saving some random cat.

Granted, he found that he would be pairing with another shinobi, though he wasn’t quite sure who it would be outside of the fact that they belonged to the Himishi clan. The details were kept otherwise vague, likely due to a limitation of time placed on its submission. That didn’t bother Goro. He didn’t mind subbing at the last moment to get something done. After all, something was better than nothing in his eyes.

The village gates stood tall before him, and to his advantage, only one figure stood among the gates, bright eyes were clear as day. He didn’t recognize the young woman but approached her anyway. "You the Himishi I’m s’pose to group wit today?” He asked with a cock of his head, arms crossed over his chest. He eyed her figure innocently "Da hell ya doin’ on a C-Rank mission…” he muttered to himself, she was easily ten years older than him. Was she some kind of drop out? He didn’t bother trying to further make enemies but sighed instead. "Let’s get dis over wit, what’dya say?”

Now that he thought about it...did he actually recognize her? He looked back over to her, his eyebrows cocking slightly...did she and Taki...fight?

"Wait a minute! Dat was you! You an Taki got at it after da wrestlin' match!" He pointed his squirmy little finger at the young woman. "Shiii...I gotta group wit you? Fine...not like ya did nottin' ta me I guess." He huffed to himself, gaining his composure back.

Thank the gods she has Ren, without him, she was fairly certain insanity would get to her. Albeit, it felt like she always found an excuse to run, despite efforts to fight and solve issues, it felt more like running than actually figuring anything out. It did make her wonder what made her suitable for a confrontational mission like this.

Haruka shrugged as she decided not to dwell on the fact. As she looked up, Haruka noticed that a blonde boy was standing before her. She felt like she seen him before... no, she has, just the briefest of seconds but her Tomekenzangan was active at that time... it wouldn't let her forget. Fuck... please don't remember. Haruka thought as she tilted her head at his inquiry about why she was on a C-rank mission. The Himishi didn't feel a need to answer such a meaningless question, it was just a waste of energy. The kunoichi was just about to nod her head and proceed with a mission.

Buuuttt, the kid remembered her and Haruka merely rubbed her temples. "Yeah, that's about right. If you remember that, maybe you remember what I said. That's about all you need for introductions, so come on. This mission isn't going to resolve itself... and please... speak proper Japanese." The Kunoichi stated as she began the journey to the mines they needed to go to, waving at the boy to come along, not really paying attention if he was actually following or not. They just needed to clear out mines, wasn't going to be hard, was it?

He didn’t bother trying to strong arm her into taking it back. It wasn’t worth the breath, really. Whatever happened between Taki and this chick had nothing to do with him, and in his eyes women could have their own problems. This was a bit more personal, however, and would be the last chance she would have to slide by on his good side.

"Name’s Goro, by da way…” he said, beginning to make his way into the mines so that they could get the mission started and over with. "Never did introduce ourselves I spose. You an Taki may of gotten at it, but that don’t mean we can’t get along, yea?” Goro arched forward, his blonde spikes covering his eyes a little as he did so. He didn't feel the need to include his last name. At this point, that would have been quite obvious.

Harua mused to herself before trying to match his steps. "I can't guarantee friendship, but this is a start... Himishi Haruka. You probably already knew that." The Kunoichi watched ahead, keeping her eyes open.

She wasn't sure what they could encounter but it seemed like anything was possible. "What is your skillset like, I don't know for sure what we're going to face but I don't want to bring a knife to a firefight." It was an honest question, one that wasn't intended to hound on anyone.

"I pretty much only use Taijutsu,” he said, though there was a hint of pride in his voice. His experience with the Eight Celestial Gates had helped him come a long way. "Don’t know what ya got going on, but you don’t look like ya wanna be up close’n personal,” he said eying her slightly. She was on the smaller side with pale skin. The question was hidden in the statement.

Goro bent down, his eyes tracing the floor just enough to notice footsteps ahead of them. They weren’t Haruka’s. "Wait…look…” he pointed to them. They looked to be from a rather large male and they were headed deeper into the mines.
