Hon-sensei is summoned to an oak tree next to a pond, accompanied by an array of trees around, and Itsuki begins his training. Much to Hon’s surprise, the young Genin catches on to the mechanics really quickly, and this prompts Hon-sensei to spar a little with the Genin to see just how much control he’s got of his foothold. Satisfied with the results, Hon sort of forfeits and promises to proctor Itsuki’s Water-Walking training too.

With Hon-sensei’s help, they returned to a pond near the same tree from before, and then Hon kicked up the training standards a notch – with the use of Sealing Lines darting towards Itsuki, senbon bombs going off, excruciatingly long time per set, Itsuki’s body was pushed all the way to the near brink of passing out. Hon aimed to teach Itsuki just how dedicated he’d have to be in order to excel as a shinobi, and the results showed for themselves when Itsuki was able to avoid a handful senbons even while greatly exhausted.

One day, when the Side Branch member Honnou was practicing the Eight Trigrams stance, Raika helped him out - as a token of his gratitude, Hon wanted to see if he could perform the Thirty-Two Palms now that the stance had been perfected, and while it took a couple tries to get it right, Hon was ultimately capable of mastering it during his spar against Raika. Thus, to his knowledge, he's the first Side Branch member in the history of the Hyūga clan to have mastered a technique reserved for the Main House, ushering in a big step towards the abolition of the centuries-long troubles between the Main House and the Side Branch.

In the midst of awaiting approval from higher-ups, he sought out another lesson with Hon-sensei, this time dabbling into one-handed handseals and the subsequent usage of a large, staff-like fan. Hon-sensei was intrigued by the Yamanaka's choice of weaponry - even though it fitted well with Wind Release, there was something more behind it. Of course, any training lesson with Hon-sensei was doomed to be a bizarre one, further convincing Itsuki that the boy could never get used to the Soft Physique Modification that Hon frivolously utilized to terrorize his student.

Hon, now experienced in raising new soldiers through his position as a Genin Team Leader, steps up to Ataru's proposal for a spar to gauge his Taijutsu capabilities and offer some 'sage' counsel. Accordingly, Ataru learned quite a lot from it, but he sure burned through his stamina quickly by keeping up his max speed for a prolonged time. Room for improvement, but the room was now blueprinted, and Ataru would definitely be faster next time.

With the pressure of the radical members of their clan with remnants of Urashi’s previous rule looming over her shoulder each day, she requests aid in further mastering the Main House’s Gentle Fist techniques, so that she may reach a level of strength and skill required to cull the embers of their dark past which they are desperately trying to extinguish. Hon, during this spar, catches up on the workings of a particular Main House technique, but ultimately his focus is more on aiding Hitomi’s clarity, constantly seeing his close friend suffer from what the clan expects from her. It reawakens deep, suppressed warmth he thought he had to choke out years ago.

I would say that the passage from rules reads to me, as you being enabled for it:

"This is a specific bonus for those who are teachers or otherwise full-fledged shinobi (Chuunin+). Senseis of a group, team captains, Sages, high high-ranking clan members. Generally, this is for shinobi that are a rank higher and have more knowledge than the one(s) they are teaching."
