A lot of it was meant in good fun and the adults always did their best to reassure him of his position and went out of their way to let them know that they cared for him.

Why’d you think he went all the way out here to train instead of inside the fancy halls back home?! It was to finally get some space from those damn bullies he called family! And yet here she was – fuckin’ Taki, probably trying her best to hold her laughter in. Um, excuse me, but was Taki the target here? Someone as skilled as her would never catch a fucking clue, would she? Honestly, a vein was pressing under the skin of his forehead in response as Sakuraba tried his best to catch his breath. He had more training to do… but Taki was insisting.

… Why didn’t he know this before? Taki’s own gear made Raiton Techniques easier? How on earth that worked was beyond him, but hell – he had to get his hands on some of that gear! While the two handseals – the horse seal and the boar seal – were easy enough to memorize, why even need to waste precious time in combat to weave those if one’s gear could, like… give a discount or something?

Honestly, the more he thought about it, the weirder it came off to him.

He weaved the same, two handseals again following her suit. As long as he focused the chakra in his legs, then the Technique should work. "Well, ma chakra’s Raiton too, so lemme give it a shot…” he spoke up with his eyes closed…

Upon opening his eyes again, he confirmed what he could hear – crackling currents running up and down his shins along with bristling, bluish chakra in spades. "Shiiiiiiieeet, dat quickly?! Tis way easier dan I thawt!” He began swinging his legs around, eyeing the chaotic flow of chakra escape with each swing. It was intoxicating to him at first, but sooner than he desired, the bristling aura died out. His focus might’ve subsided with his excitement taking over.

"Dis way cooler dan I’d ima-a-ah, wait, bullshit! I was totally focused!”

Weaving the same, two handseals again, he manifested the same effect a little easier than the first time and continued admiring the Raiton aura that surrounded his legs. Surprisingly, spending chakra so frivolously seemed not to tax him in any visible way, despite how long he’d been training up here prior to Taki’s arrival. Never out of fuel, that guy.

But he was still bad at maintaining the Jutsu after casting it, and it died out quick. "… Ya think this could woik with, say, a headlock?”

The boy would denote that his chakra was raiton based in nature and that he wanted to give it another try he would keep his eyes closed after a moment the boy would craft the seals and the funnel of raiton would appear below his legs the form was relatively stable the girl was taken aback by how quickly he was able to to put it together. "Damn awlready?” the girl would think.

She’d look down at his legs watching the current and would then notice how it would fall apart, able to recognize the slight instability of the technique. "Yeah you were but give it anoda try.” the girl would say raising a finger. "If you want it to work wit a headlock you gotta nail dis one foist.” the girl would add moving in front of the boy in order to give him another demonstration.

"Try ta hold it at a lower voltage and keep dat up for as lawng as ya can.” the girl would do the same crafting the seals creating a smaller current that would still hum but wasn’t as potent. "Try dis and then see if you can hold an too it.” seeing how he had a knack for it made her feel like maybe he needed to start a bit slower that way he can progress rather quickly.

As a result the girl is now able to perform a bevy of powerful techniques for longer periods of time without tiring as quickly as others.

Taki has also increased the amount of weight she is able to lift by a massive margin in a way that makes her an even more fearsome taijutsu practitioner than before.

Damn… if he didn’t show her something promising, then he’d just make a fool out of himself. It gave pressure to what was meant to be just training… but nothing was ever just training. He’d die on that hill – training always brought something forth in people who underwent what they had to. After today, he’d have a new Jutsu under his belt, a step towards becoming an even greater shinobi than any other fucking Okada. He swore that he’d make them watch him ascend to untouched heights and dare have it in them to ever call him a fucking jobber again.

It meant that these boulders were whack, anyway. If he wanted to take Taki by surprise, he’d need to funnel more chakra into his legs… but that’d likely cause this Jutsu to cancel out quicker. Nah, after this short time getting used to it, he’d like to bet that he could step up a notch. All the muscles in his shins pulsated like separate hearts with the increase in chakra protruding from their pores, crackling a wicked laugh in form of growling bolts of electricity hot enough to leave charred footsteps.

"Me NEITHA!” he roared with a flying leap, swinging his shin forward to launch his Raiton-infused sole straight towards the center of her torso.

Her younger cousin seemed to have a rather strong set of convictions behind him and she could see it in the way that he fought, she’d brace herself and as he came her she’d react to his lift and jump up by tanking his electrically charged blow she’d feel the impact but the girl would slide back from his blow as she raised up her arms she’d feel the cackle against her arms and let out a deep breath.

"Gotta do betta den dat you’ve got form but you’re lacking powa…c’mon give it anotha go.” the girl would say as she looked towards her cousin keeping her stance almost as if she were gesturing for him to go back and give it another try, she was impressed he took to the technique rather quickly but he still had a lot more to learn but she was eager to see if he could muster up just enough to by pass her defenses if only by a small modicum.

Could he do it, only time would tell but it would certainly be interesting to watch it reminded her of herself when she was starting out a genin if he had this kind of focus some time ago who knows where he might’ve ended up.

Damn… this time, the kick was solid enough to cause her to slide back several feet, but she kept her damn posture! Fucking hell, Taki was synonymous with tough… but she said it loud and clear. He lacked power in those kicks, but if that was all she had to say, then his form and the execution was acceptable. He just needed some more horsepower…

But channeling more chakra into a Jutsu than usual wasn’t the easiest thing to do. Jutsus were mastered mostly by muscle memory or mental memory, and it wasn’t always easy to go against the exact amount of exerted force that your body thought was needed. Like, you couldn’t always stretch your arms over your shoulders harder than needed, right? That’d be weird… but alas, he tried his best.

He had so much chakra. Casting the Jutsu one more time wouldn’t harm him, and he knew that… a lasting gift from his past failure, it seemed. Alas, his legs were getting more and more used to channeling Lightning Release chakra through them, and it felt just right to power them with this kind of energy. Crackling, explosive, burning, lightning chakra was just perfect for him.

If a shin kick wouldn’t do, then his next option was a heelkick! With a single leap, Sakuraba soon caught himself right above Taki, beginning to somersault his way down with lightning release chakra exploding from his heel instead of his shin. As if second nature to him, he somehow was able to switch the focus area of his chakra in the blink of an eye, even without his knowing…
