Diplomacy had it's places and there were times in which it required a delicate touch. Though with time, came change, and he was indeed preparing for one that would rattle the foundations of power. Though it would take acquiring individuals that were talented and capable. Ones that could operate within areas that were limited to him. Though he was not yet prepared to strike the first blow, the path in which he had started to walk would call for that moment soon enough.

Though now was the time to patience, and he was more than aware of it. Hence, he had been keeping his eye on the elements and the passage of those that moved through his lands. The ones rejected and allowed to roam with little fear of consequence to their downfall. Hence was the freedom of those known as Missing nin, yet they laid in plain sight if one knew where to look.

Which was what brought him to one such haven of their kind...

Hair damp and with a face of exhaustion, Shiina walked out of an ryokan. She was wearing a large samurai hat that almost covered all of her face. Tonight had been one of a long performance for the geisha. Perhaps it was age that inevitably affected her stamina, but the performances that lasted well into the night were of a harder toll on her body. She shook her head, as though trying to shake that thought out of her system physically, tipping her hat even further to cover her face. "Thank you so much for your performance, Ran-san." The owner of the ryokan bowed at her, handing her a bag of coins for her services.

She nodded her head and gave a professional smile, taking the bag of coins from the owner before heading down the now empty streets. It would have perhaps served her better if she had stayed the night in the ryokan, which was something she often did nowadays, she knew that she would have to travel to another village at the crack of dawn. Her silk black and red kimono fluttered slightly in the wind as she walked slowly, even though she had no idea where she was going and how to get there. This was often the dilemma she found herself, and it had become a dilemma only because she had recently left her own geisha house, on the outskirts of Kaminari no Kuni.

The woman heaved a small sigh as she looked up at the night sky. It was almost the full moon, its bright yellow shining and illuminating the streets below. There weren't many stars though, which disappointed the geisha slightly. She would eventually reach the gates of the small village, taking in the sights of the place one last time before she turned to leave, wondering when she would return again. It was during these times that she really wanted to go back to her geisha house, wanted to have a place she could call home to return to. But it was all too late...and despite knowing that it was for the better, it still stung and tore at her heart nonetheless.

"Interesting..."

The voice of the man would speak as he moved out behind her, his expression calm as she spoke from his hooded cowl, his body resting beside the surface of a building. His demeanor, while mostly in shadow, likely would not faze the woman, but considering what he had seen from her performance, he was not certain much would rattle her less than being directly spoken to by a stranger at night. Of course, her physical features were a key sign of that.

"Considering what I saw from your performance, I take it your grace was not from simply working in the arts..."

As his gaze would reveal their golden hue, he'd remain where he was as he continued to speak.

Though he wasn't worried of her response, he did question just if he would get much use from the woman. After all, considering her appearance, she likely would be limited to her presence in certain places.

"If I were to guess...I'd say you've used your talents for far more pressing matters..."
