The quiet of the evening allowed for Arashi to gain some semblance of peace outside of the Kage Tower. Of course, that was only when there weren't causes for emergencies that required her to be on alert. Thankfully, that was not the case tonight, giving her a moment to just step away while on her way back home. It have certainly been an interesting few months... Training across the allied nations, pretending to be a diplomat, and even getting to gain some good news from all of it in the end had lifted her spirits quite a bit. Not that she had allowed herself to really take it in and express it. It wouldn't do well for the Jounin Hanchou to be seen with tears in her eyes, even if they were of joy. Though with her having officially returned to active duty, she had yet to really let her emotions out and it was common for her to bottle things for a considerable time. But out in the vast desert, she found her place of isolation, her hands resting at her sides before then feeling her face begin to clench, her teeth bearing down upon each other as she felt the tears well up as she released her hold on them. Asahi wasn't dead. Months upon months she had thought the young man had died because of her and she held onto that. Though seeing him well had been enough to raise a heavy weight from her chest, and it was only now that she could finally express it. As she covered her eyes, she'd do her best to muffle her sobs before then shaking her head in an effort to collect herself. "Okay....sniff...okay..." Rubbing her face, she'd feel the trail marks across her cheeks, prompting her to gently place the tips of her fingers along their length, prompting sand to replenish her image and erase the damp stains. From there, she'd adjust her shoulders before then releasing a breath. She had to focus on something else, prompting her to look out toward the desert as she raised her hand and began to shift it's depths and a cloud of dust began to rise up from the surface. Using Sand and dust was now becoming second nature to her at this point. In truth, she could say without any doubt that next to Sealing Techniques, it was her greatest weapon. It was exactly as Bunpuki had stated in his notes, eventually over time he became used to his abilities and the presence of Shukaku within him. It was the same for her, though she imagined that she had been able to break the stigma of having to be sealed away in order to figure out a relationship with the One Tails. At the very least, the two of them had become allied to the point where they could trust and rely on each other. Life long companions didn't come any clearer than one with a Jinchuuriki. Still, she was more than aware that there were forces that could manage to get through her Sand Defense. Not a lot, but it was enough to make her concerned. So there was no harm in her working on an alternative. Which was where her Ancestor's gift came into play. As she watched the sand shift and warp into itself within an every changing mass, Arashi would reach into her pouch, drawing forth a small bag before looking it over briefly, tossing it up and down in her palm. Auramite....the greatest weapon to Sunagakure next to Iron Sand and well...her. It had been a tool used to unite armies and wage war across nations. Sumiya's legacy... Though it was still a challenge to use despite the many revelations of her similarities to her ancestor. Of course, that had been mostly physical. The two of them were completely different. Not that it stopped speculation of her being a reincarnated version of the woman. Terrifying notion, but not the first time she'd been idolized as some kind of spiritual being either. "Yea...The theory was that due to our connection, Iron Sand and Auramite would be difficult since its more challenging to influence it..." Which was a fact. It was one of the few reasons why she very rarely used it. Along with the fact that it was such a rarity that perhaps making it public again wasn't the wisest choice of action. She could name the moment she had with one hand. Still, the process of her manipulating the Gold Dust was far more straining and doing so was much like lifting a whole structure. It was draining, and could only be sustained for a small amount of time. But, considering the effects of the dust, it wouldn't be smart to sit on it for much longer. As she continued to toss the small bundle up and down, she'd then catch it before reeling her arm back and throwing it into the mass of sand. From there, the substances began to flow into each other, creating a glimmering pattern before completely encasing the mass in it's golden tint. With the reflective sheen shattering the rays of the sun, Arashi would instantly feel the weight of the mass, her hand reaching out as to solidify it and turn it into a large pillar. "Crap..." With the tower of gold before her, Arashi would walk toward it as she examined it, narrowing her eyes as she then reached toward it and touched it's surface. "Least it shows that I can use it...just takes a lot more effort..." "Hmph...one of the few things in this world that can be considered of value...it's creation was the what brought about Iron Sand..." "Yea...and we both know I can't use that..." Rolling her eyes to the side, the woman would lean her back against the structure, releasing a breath as she began to think on it. "What exactly is your history with Auramite?" It was a point blank question, but considering the extended life span of the One Tails, it wasn't too far off to assume that Shukaku had encountered it before. In fact, from most accounts that she had read and heard, it was a safe assumption to pinpoint it being the reason for his containment in the first place. "Nothing that you can't have already realized...It was responsible for my capture by Sunagakure and decades later, Iron Sand became the next. I do see the irony in it, though I do not see the connection..." "Aside from it being strong enough to combat a Tailed beast?" Raising her brow, Arashi would then release a breath as she looked at the Auramite made construct once more, leading to her waving her hand as it began to shift slightly, but not without some effort on her part. It didn't move much, but it was enough to show that the ability was there, if not without some strong force of will. "Everything seems to come down to will...I can move it..I've done it before, but why the hell is it not as fluid as when I use Sand?" It cold have been a number of things, but Arashi was a walking list of issues if one looked hard enough. But she imagined that it might have some connection to her inability to use Iron Sand. But that had hardly anything to do with Shukaku. In fact, it wasn't uncommon for the skill to skip a generation. Though in truth, she imagined that she was just one of the few not to have developed the skill. Her brothers each had it, though Takefusa was still too young to really know for sure. Probably wouldn't have an answer to that until he started training at the academy. Set was definitely able to use it, having seen it first hand on many occasion. Hell, much of what he had learned in how to manipulate it, he had gotten from her showing him a few times. A connection....acceptance...peace of mind... Arashi would reflect on these things that the old Shippai had told her, thinking on it as she then began to back away from the golden tower. As she released a breath, her eyes would close as she began to slow her breathing down. Extending her hands out, she'd make a single diamond like formation with her fingers, her head lowered as she began to focus. Peace of mind...connection...acceptance... It was the act of centering herself and finding that peace of mind, that space where she wasn't simply in the moment, but also in a place of calm. Allowing her breath to move from between her lips, her mind would seem to slip into a place where she was simply floating. ------------------------- The surroundings were nothing more than a sea of white, her body drifting over the surface as she could hear the sounds of the world around her, the people, the voices, the things that constantly came to mind each day fade away and seem to only be replaced with just that of a simple breeze. The light sound of water and her own breathing as she closed her eyes. While it was easier to attack with rage, peace was something she needed to work and having a calm approach was difficult. Perhaps that was why she was quick to rush in at times. Better to be in that moment and just be fueled by the experience. But a true shinobi needed to at peace with themselves as well. The mind was a curious thing, and while she had her fair share of experiences within the thoughts of others, her own still held a lot of things that she either repressed or simply ignored. Shifting through the endless white sea of her thoughts, she continued to deafen the noises and voices around her, hearing only the breeze and the soft whistling of the wind. As her body continued to float upon the stream of consciousness, she'd hear the voice she wanted to hear, prompting her to open her eyes as she took it in. Enmei Kagemichi's theme "Trying to emulate Sumiya-sama's consciousness?....It cannot be done. You are not her, and therefore, should not try to become that which you aren't..." It was terrible that a Shippai was the one with the most insight on her dilema, but she wasn't able to get much information from her father and Miyo wasn't much help either. Aside from those that were versed enough in manipulation of materials, she had only gotten bare facts at best. Still, when it came to Auramite, it was a complete mystery. The best she could do is replicate the process of what Sumiya-sama felt and acted. Which, from the truth of the matter, she knew less than she'd admit. The woman was her ancestor, and aside from the brief glimpses into her life, the mild encounter in the ruins, and the stories she had read, she knew nothing. Maybe that was the point...she couldn't try and be someone she knew nothing about... ""What you must 'feel' isn't so much as an emotion as it is a connection. Tell me, Arashi-san, how do you control sand when you use it in combat, normally? How do you weave your chakra? What do you feel?" Rage.... Before it had been that along with fear and a lack of control. She had that now, but still...she wasn't trying to access her sand...but Auramite...which was completely different it seemed. "Yer chakra is yer life essence. When ye fuse it with the golden sand, ye control it, but ye also must find connection with it. Auramite is a tool--a weapon, but also a medium. Ye move as one. Act as one. There must be peace, and understanding of this process in yer mind. It is not something that controls ye, or something you can lose control of like that beast inside of you--no, Auramite is your partner, and when ye combine yer chakra to it, ye must see it as an extension of yerself. Arashi continued to float amid her thoughts, her eyes remaining open as she said into the endless sky. Her expression remained on it for a moment, thinking on these words that she was hearing. She had managed this connection before on a whim. It had been in the heat of the moment and honestly one that she barely remembered doing. Hence, why she was doing all this. But if what Enmei said was true, and everything she had experienced so far was proof enough that it was, then Auramite had an essence as well. It was out there...somewhere.... "A spirit....which only had one connection....thats it...the connection is Sumiya...but how does that help? It doesn't mean it will connect with me..." In thinking this, Arashi would close her eyes before then feeling something warm against her face. Her expression shifted to that of a frown, yet soon she'd glance upward to see something warm hanging overhead. It was dim, almost glimmering, but limited in it's shine as it remained over her face. With a blank expression, Arashi would glance from one side to the next, soon allowing herself to sit upward, her body still seemingly afloat, yet now hanging still as she looked to the figment before her. Golden Spirit Did spirits exist?... All evidence in this world pointed towards the possibility of a many great things considered impossible to be just the opposite. She had seen her fair share of dead individuals...and possibly even the resurrection of one, so it was not so much out of the ordinary to encounter one. Especially within her head. Though she imagined that it had as much to do with the chakra connected through a seal. Her own for example, had been capable of such a feat. There was also Bunpuko's kettle and the seal that had protected Sumiya-sama's resting place. But those had all been placed and summoned the form of a person. What was floating before Arashi at this moment was nothing more than a formless orb. Not to mention one that seemed to have very little light radiating from it. But then again, it being here meant that it had to have some ability to make contact. As it remained before her, it seemed to indicate some form of awareness, though it soon began to move away as Arashi would reach out for it. "Wait! I mean...I'm guessin ya showed up for a reason right?" As it stopped, the young female would more surprised at the fact that it responded than the idea of her talking to a object. "You're the essence of Auramite...Golden Dust...it's spirit..." Releasing a soft sigh, Arashi would then lower her arm as it rested at her side. "Okay...assuming I'm not crazy and just having an conversation out in the middle of the desert to no one...I'm gonna go with that...I want to create a connection with you...and I can only do that if your willing to do it with me..." The orb remained where it was, though it seemed as if it were waiting for something. "I get it....I'm not...I'm not Sumiya...I'm not your creator...but I...I want to try and build something...I'm still not sure what that something looks like...but I want it to be...strong...and I want it to be...safe...for the people that I care about..." Golden Spirit The golden spite did not seem to move or even react, if anything, it was hard to tell just what this entity was thinking. Unfortunately, with as many encounters she'd had with the supernatural and weird, Arashi was hardly what one would consider an expert. Still, she imagined that her answer wasn't exactly brimming with confidence. Which was true. Arashi had no idea what she was aiming for. "I guess thats not a good answer..." Releasing a breath, the young woman would close her eyes as she held her hand close to her chest. "I don't know...what it is that I can actually do if I had the power to change things. I know that there are people out there that would rather we go right back to killin each other and there are some that just want to be ready for when that happens. I'd be happy if I didn't have to do anything and I could just...live..ya know?" With a small smile on her face, Arashi would imagine it as she considered just what living would look like. A life as a shinobi was one thing. It was adventure, it was excitement, it was constant thrills and mystery. It was fascinating, it was fun. It mattered to someone when she came to help and it allowed for her to be the hero to someone that needed it. But if she could...if the world ever did work like that...she'd be just as happy sitting down and reading a book or just being with her friends and family. She had responsibilities that didn't always allow for that, but she did make sure to try and be there. Her parents had done the same thing, yet managed to still make time for them. So it wasn't impossible to do both. But did they have to do that forever? "I want....." Looking down, Arashi continued to think on this question as she for a moment thought what Sumiya would have said, but soon cast that aside. "I want....A world of true peace....one that I can sleep all I want...where the people I care about can sleep...where my family can finally...just be...I want a world were I can see a future where I grow old and...have kids...with the person I love...I want a world where everyone has that option and doesn't have to worry about being dead the next day due to someone killin them on the front lines of some war they didn't want...that might be impossible...but I want to try and do that...not just for myself...but for everyone...and if I can do that than...great...if I have die for it....thats okay too..." Arashi would remain silent as she stared at the orb before then seeing it now floating inches away from her. "I mean that....I don't want to die but...if I can make that world happen...it'd be worth it right?" The distance between the two closed, Arashi would stare at the golden orb and then slowly reach out once more. It didn't move this time, seemingly allowing for the young woman to touch it. Though she did so, it seemed as if the vision had no form, only the essence of what it may as well have been. Her fingers danced through it, seeming almost to vanish as it's aura began to graze their tips. Before long, something seemed to prompt a strange sensation into her, and her body began to fall backward, the endless pattern of thoughts shattering around her as she continued falling. Spiritual Connection "Sumiya used it as a tool of control and peace. With it she ended the wars of petty kings and warlords, the people benefited for it." "Oh...Um..basically....በኋላ እገናኝሻለሁኋላ...It means coming of the dawn...Kinda strange that I even got that much from it..." በኋላ....Fallen star....Fallen Star... "I shut my humanity once. Arashi, do not fear your own insecurities. Those who hesitate to use the power they can wield are the only ones worthy of wielding it at all. As she then shifted her hand to the side, the structure would bend, prompting her to then sway her hand to the opposite side, causing it to move once more. In seeing this first hand, her expression changed to that of a smirk before then raising her hand upward, causing the dust to rise as well, dissolving into a shapeless form before then allowing it to rush to her as she then prompted it to stop as she stared back at it.
