Site changes/maintenance
New Skin for the Site - We have a new skin for the site. So, if you enjoy it then please message Fong and give her your thanks. Additionally if you have any questions or concerns about the skin (for example, if something is showing up wrong to you) then please direct these messages to Fong as well.
New Avatar Sizes - Now with this new skin, there are two avatars you'll have to set. The first is your 200x300 main avatar. The second is a 100x100 avatar that will display when you hover over your main avatar and will be displayed in the drop down menu in the top left and the users online/user online in the past twenty-four hours areas.
New Mini-Profiles - Now, when you hover over the large picture you can see on your left, you'll discover some nice little links and pieces of information about the one who posted. How to fill this in? Go to your profile and click 'edit profile'. In there, go to 'Personal' and scroll down. You'll see below where you'd fill in your signature a new set of boxes. Hover Image, App, Clan, Summons need a link to your stuff. All the others can be filled in by you. In your custom title, you can put your alias, as well as your character's position in the rp boards (to jump a line, use [*br] without the *, between the alias and the position).
Alternative Solution - As we received some demands for those with larger screen resolutions, Fong has made an alternative skin. It is exactly the same, however the hover item on the left is lost and it's contents are put in the banner. To change to this alternative skin, go to your profile, click edit profile and select "Settings". There, you'll find a drop down menu called "Forum Themes". Chose the FB Alternative if you wish for this new solution.
Site Maintenance Notice - I have updated the village positions threads since the Activity Check ended. I will try to update these threads once a week and possibly more often than that if I'm able to. If you see any mistakes then please contact me with them and we'll try to resolve the issue.

Chat Rules Listed - As you may have noticed, there are now rules listed beside the chat. This is to give anyone in the chat no excuse should they conduct themselves poorly. If it is decided you are breaking any of these rules you will be banned.
Core Staff / aux. Mod changes
Addition to Core Staff - Vallen has been added to the staff roster. Please continue to treat him with respect and follow his instructions.
Stepped Down from Staff - Chariot has decided to step down from the staff due to personal reasons. She has written a thread in regards to this

New Advert Moderator - Ephy has been placed in charge of our advertisement boards. She will be returning all advertisements made on the site, as well as occasionally going out to place our own ad. While she is a mod, please do not be confused; she is not a staff member responsible for approving applications/appeals/etc. apart from any approvals you require from the Hokage.
Changes to applications
Character Combos - As previously mentioned in another announcement. Character locker combinations have been added to character applications. These are codes that will confirm you have read the rules. Their placement is noted on the character application. Furthermore if you are working on a WIP that was posted before these changes, then please make sure to update your character form before requesting a review. If it is not up to date then you will simply be told to update it leading to a longer review time.
How'd You Find Us - Please note that there is now a "How'd You Find Us?" line in the character application. Please note the method you found the site. This helps us understand where our advertising might be paying off. Additionally if you were referred here by a friend then please just note their chat name. However, do not misunderstand; at this time no XP will be awarded for referrals. All you will receive is our thanks.
Chakra Nature for Multi-Element Releases - If you are registering a character who has either a dual or tri natured release, please be aware that from now on your chakra nature will be the elements that make up that release. Your affinity will however still be the unique nature. For example, if you are registering a Senju with Mokuton (Wood) your chakra nature would be Suiton & Doton (Water & Earth) and your chakra affinity would have to be Mokuton (Wood) in order to use that release.
Rule Changes
Mission Rule Change - All characters are now allowed to participate in two missions at a time. You are allowed to take one mission with your assigned team (the team you are listed with in the village positions thread) and one with a temporary team, which may consist of any shinobi within your village or if approved by both rulers of allied villages, by any member of those allied villages. Should the later happen it would reflect as a joint exercise to promote trust with the alliance. As such the nature of the mission should reflect this. For example, villages would not have shinobi from another village participate in an assassination mission with them.
Mission Rule Change - You must now reach the post requirement for a mission, even if you have or desire to fail it. This is to prevent anyone from abusing the partial xp awarded for failed missions. Any mission that does not meet the post requirement will be treated as if it never happened. If missions still fail to be completed the staff may enact a policy of removing xp acquired from mission threads that were never finished.
Puppetry Rule Change - Users may now register individual attacks and/or combos involving their puppets. While you are still able to maneuver your approved puppets and use any of the devices in them, by registering these techniques you are able to execute the attacks more quickly, more accurately and overall more efficiently. Additionally I have taken it upon myself to register a few universal puppetry techniques, be aware that some of them however require sole puppetry specialization.
Character Rule Addition - Members may not apply for a character from the Senju clan until they have actively rp'd with another approved character for at least one month. This is to combat the high turn over rate for these highly sought after positions.

Character Rule Addition - Members may only apply for a ruler if they have actively rp'd with another approved character for at least one month. This is to ensure that active and competent roleplayers are getting these critical positions.

Character Rule Addition - Members may only apply for a sage if they have actively rp'd with another approved character for at least one month. This is to combat the high turn over rate for these positions.
Character Rule Addition - You may not apply for additional characters unless all of your characters have posted within the last two weeks. If you post an application and this criteria is not met then the application will simply be moved to the archive and anything you tried to reserve for it will be restricted for you for one week.
Position Policy Change - Missing-nin positions are no longer tied to whether a village is accepting new characters. This means that while Konoha, Kiri, Kumo and Suna may currently be closed that you are still permitted to make missing-nin for those villages.
Position Policy Change - Rulers may still be registered even if a village is closed to new applications. This is to ensure that all villages have the opportunity for someone to act as a mod for the village and help decide on plots and so forth.
Position Policy Change - Core village positions may now be reserved for two weeks like other reservations. These include the ruler, ANBU Captain, Jounin Hanchou, Head Medic, Shinobi Council Members and the Head Academy Instructor.
Position Policy Change - Any member creating a character for either the bodyguard or assistant positions must now be approved by the ruler of the village if one is approved. If the person playing the ruler finds a reason their character would not choose you for the job from an IC standpoint then you will either have to change/fix that issue or choose a different position. This is due to the fact that the bodyguards and assistant of a ruler are supposed to be among their most trusted shinobi.
General Rule Addition - The site will now keep a infraction strike system. Any time you are banned from the chat and/or site for one week or longer, you will receive a strike. Once you receive your third strike you will be permanently banned from the chat. At that point you will have one final chance before you are permanently banned from the site itself. Note, being banned temporarily from the site will also constitute a strike.
Summon Rule Clarification - To clarify, summons can perform ninjutsu and genjutsu. However, it is asked that the summon must perform some type of physical motion or otherwise perform some action to do the jutsu. An example of this would be a bird screeching to perform a genjutsu or an ape pounding the ground to perform a Doton technique.
First Arc update / Village Arcs
First Arc Update - Many members have messaged me wanting details about the first Arc. At this point in time all I can say is that the staff have decided on the first arc and have made preparations. Unfortunately, at this time the staff feel that some of the villages simply do not have enough shinobi in them to properly and fairly proceed with this event.
Village Wide Plots - Do to this decision the staff have instead decided to make village wide events for all the villages we are in charge of. Additionally the staff urge any non-staff ruler to also begin preparations for a village wide event. To this extent I have created the Ruler Planning Board which is accessible only to approved village rulers. Within this board you may post up a thread detailing your event as well as applications for any item, character, etc. required for the event. The staff will work with you on getting the event ready and green lighting not only the event, but any possible rewards for the event.
