Bright and sunny without much in the way of wind or any other disastrous elements today was shaping up to be a good day to get some training in. Shikajin had been agreed to help out one of the academy students with learning one of the basic techniques and while in years passed would have avoided the opportunity altogether his want of getting a better bedside manner with patients prompted him to take up the request. It was so easy to get caught up in the facts and diagnosis when talking to people that empathy had a way of falling to the wayside, but the Nara knew plenty of medics that laced their words with sympathy while giving less than stellar news; it was possible, he just had to work at it.

His student today would be a young Uchiha, Kiseki if he remembered the name right. The man had only interacted with a few from that clan and they couldn't have been on more opposite ends of the spectrum. One was developing into a strong and well respected shinobi and the other... well, it was Kazui. Her actions were not a secret but she was loved enough by important people to get a second chance and had even had a child named after her which still didn't sit well with Shikajin but it wasn't his place to make judgments; if Kazuto and Miho were fine then so be it.

Leaning up against one of the wooden posts in the training grounds the Nara would wait for the girl to arrive so they could begin. Another near sleepless night only served to deepen the dark circles around his eyes but he was more than capable of getting through this lesson.

Kiseki hurried along the path towards her destination, using all of her self-control to not break into a full out run. She was beyond excited because she was going to be able to learn a new technique from the older shinobi. This time, her sensei was going to be teaching her the Transformation Technique which, arguably, was the coolest of the Academy-taught jutsu.

Being able to basically turn into whoever or whatever you wanted was beyond awesome and the young Uchiha couldn’t wait to try and figure out how the technique worked.

She was also excited about exactly who her teacher was. Nara Shikajin was pretty well known around the Village, so it was a big boost to the young girl’s ego to be able to learn from him.

So, yeah, it was very, very hard to play it cool and not sprint to the meeting place.

But, Kiseki was proud of herself for acting mature and competent, slowing herself to walk at a normal pace once her destination came into view. Her eyes scanned the area until she found the man she was looking for.

"Nara-sensei!" she called out when she laid eyes on the older man. Easy to spot really, with the dark hair, dark eyes, and the permanent eyebags. To Kiseki, it looked like he needed a really long nap. She kept a small smile on her face as she moved closer. "I’m here!"

She gave a small bow once she got near him, to show her gratitude, before straightening up, practically bouncing on her toes in excitement. "It’s nice to meet you, sir," she said, happily. "Thank you for being willing to teach me today."

Much time hadn't passed before the jubilant sound of a kid called towards him. Dark hues focused on the young girl who looked to be brimming with excitement and it was honestly a nice sight to see those who were eager and excited to learn. Shikajin honestly couldn't remember how enthused he was to learn these techniques back in his academy days, honestly anything before that day was a haze, might as well been a different life. But this was no time for dwelling on sullen memories as there was teaching to do.

"A pleasure to meet you as well, and it's no problem at all I'm glad to help." Shikajin replied with a small smile. "Let's get started then shall we? The transformation technique, while mostly known as a foundational jutsu, is a valuable tool for every shinobi. Being able to transform yourself into almost any and everything can be a huge help in your missions." He added before thinking of a way to best start the teaching process. "A couple things to remember is that while you are transformed it constantly drains your chakra. It's not a lot and as you continue to grow you probably won't even notice after a few years but keep it in mind. Also, you have to focus on whatever you're transformed into at all times otherwise the jutsu will end."

Focus and knowing how much chakra a technique drained you of were essential for pretty much all jutsu and it was important to instill that need to keep track of things early so there'd be little room for surprises of that nature down the line. "We could stand here talking about it all day but it's better to experience it. The two main parts of the technique are performing the hand seals and coming up with an image of what you want to turn into, like this..."

The Nara would slowly perform the required seals so Kiseki could begin to memorize them before a poof of smoke would obscure the man from view and in his place a brown buck with antlers pointing to the heavens would be staring at the young Uchiha. Shikajin would scratch into the ground a couple times with a front hoof to show that for all intents and purposes he was a deer. It was a bit on the nose but the easiest transformations were something that the user was familiar with. After a few moments another poof of smoke would see the Nara return to his true form. "Not too difficult at all. Give it a try."

The girl watched the older man and listened to his description with rapt attention. She really needed to start taking a notebook to these lessons with how much she wanted to keep the information forever and ever. Guess she would have to just make sure she remembered everything they discussed really well.

She nodded along as he spoke, understanding his explanation on chakra usage and drawing thanks to her studies both in the Academy and with Shigure-sensei. It was the keeping the image constantly in your mind that was giving her pause. Like, perfectly in her mind? What about minute details? Did she need to keep those perfect too? This seemed like it might be a little more difficult than learning the other four jutsu.

Watching as the man used the jutsu, turning into a deer, Kiseki’s eyes widened in awe. She was excited to give it a go. When Shikajin turned back, she gave a small applause, practically bouncing on her toes for her turn.

She gave a nod and moved back a few steps, trying to think about what she wanted to transform into. Pursing her lips, she thought about it before deciding on a dog. She liked dogs and she knew enough that she figured she could get a decent picture in her mind.

So she did as Shikajin-sensei had done with the handseals and then she tried to get a picture of one of the familiar dogs she knew in her mind. Problem was, she knew quite a few dogs so she kept picturing all of them. When the puff of smoke happened, a dog was in her place all right, but it seemed to be a mishmash of several breeds.

Kiseki looked at herself, the spots on one leg, the black-and-tan on half of her body and blue roan on the other. The half fluffy, half skinny tail was the opposite of cute. It only lasted a few seconds, before there was a poof of smoke and Kiseki was back to her normal self, sitting on the ground.

"Well...that didn’t work," she grumbled, getting to her feet. "Got any tips on how to focus on one image?"

She wanted to try again, but didn’t want to screw up a second time.

Shikajin would watch as the girl gave the technique a try for the first time and had he been a more cheerful person he may have laughed at the Orwellian result but instead tried to figure out where she had went wrong. The idea was good: something very simple, yet in this case there were so many breeds of dogs in the world that people came across almost daily that settling on just one image could be difficult, and added to the fact that Kiseki was trying to get the other parts of the jutsu down things were bound to go south.

The girl would ask for tips on how to focus on a single image and the wheels began to turn on how to best explain his process. "Try to be as specific as possible when picturing your target. Don't just think 'dog', think of a pet or one a friend or family member might have. In my experience it's easier to focus on something or someone you've seen a lot. That deer I transformed into earlier was one I've worked with since I was your age and while a lot of deer may look alike I'd never forget those antlers." The Nara replied hoping his words would be enough guidance for the girl.

"Give it another go. If it doesn't work this time I may have something else that will help." Shikajin really didn't want to go that route but if focusing on a single image was the issue then Kiseki just needed something totally unique to set her sights on.

Even though Shikajin was trying to be kind about her failure, Kiseki was disappointed in herself. Not to the point of throwing a tantrum, but it was a near thing. Why wasn’t this coming to her as easily as the other jutsu had? It was annoying and irritating and several other less-than-pleasant adjectives.

Taking a calming breath, the young Uchiha focused on what Shikajin-sensei was saying. It made sense, she had seen a lot of dogs, but she wasn’t particularly close with any one of them. So it probably wouldn’t work for the sort of clarity of thought she would need for the jutsu.

Her foot began tapping against the ground as she thought about it again. What would be a good shape to transform into? Her thought process turned from inward thinking to outward muttering. "Not doing a dog again...Cat is too small. Don’t know any deer..."

Then it hit her and she sorta wanted to smack herself for being so dumb. She didn’t need to turn into an animal - a person would work just as well. She had just automatically gone to animal when she had seen Shikajin do it. With a smile, the girl decided exactly who she would transform into.

Taking another deep breath, Kiseki closed her eyes and focused. She pictured her father in her mind. She saw him every day, so she knew almost every detail about him. When she was positive she had the image pictured perfectly, Kiskei nodded and made the handseal again.

There was a large puff of smoke, and when it cleared, the girl was positive a perfect copy of her dad stood in her place. She couldn’t tell one hundred percent without a mirror, but looking down at what she could see made her confident. Those were her dad’s hands, his jounin uniform, his worn boots.

Looking back over at Shikajin, she smiled and gestured at herself with her hands.

"Did it work this time?" she asked, ruining the illusion with her voice, but she had to ask. She needed to know she had been successful this time.

It looked like the girl was racking her brain trying to focus on a single image for the technique to work. The transformation jutsu could be a tricky one for younger shinobi due to the concentration it required and needing to have as complete a mental image as possible. Kiseki had done well in initially picking something that was relatively simple but the problem was in the details, or lack thereof in this case. Shikajin knew he should have offered a bit more instruction on the front end of having a concise target but wanted to avoid bogging the girl down with theory and words.

After a bit of time processing the instructions the chunin would watch as the student gave it another go and while he didn't know what exactly she had chosen to try this time the Nara was surprised to see a grown man now staring back at him. A quick once over revealed just about everything to be in order though since he was unfamiliar with whoever this was it'd be anyone's guess on the minutae. A brow raised upon hearing the high pitched, child like voice coming from the man and it was clear that they still had a bit of work to do. "Voice aside, it looks well done. An important part of this technique are the details, and you did a good job of matching the worn look of his boots and vest."

Kiseki had picked up the jutsu pretty quick all things considered but simply looking like someone was only half the battle. "With that said, there are still a couple parts you need to get down pact to truly sell the jutsu: matching the person's voice, which I mentioned earlier, and moving around. If you're transforming into a form that is wildly different than your own it can be tricky to move as naturally as you're used to." Shikajin spoke before pausing for a moment.

"Try working on mimicking the voice of whoever this is while also walking around. Just like you memorized their appearance try and recall how they sound and how their body moves while in motion. The width of the steps they take, how far they swing their arms when they walk, so on and so forth." A lot of this would become second nature in time and depending on the situation some of the steps may not have been necessary but a solid foundation would only help the girl when the time came.

Kiseki tilted her head at the new set of instructions. Emulating her dad’s stride and mannerisms could be something that was easy enough, but she doubted that she could imitate his voice to a convincing degree. Her dad was an adult man. She was an eleven year old girl. The chances of her even getting her voice to that low octave were very, very slim.

Maybe she could change into someone closer to her own age? Another girl, perhaps? Was that allowed for this lesson? She was just gonna do it, even if it would be frowned upon. It was a good learning experience, if she thought about it. Don’t transform into someone, or something, you would be incapable of mimicking convincingly.

There was a puff of smoke, and Kiseki was back into her normal shape before quickly doing the handseal once again. Another smoke blast and then a different person standing in front of Shikajin.

This time, Kiseki had chosen the form of another child, a girl from her Academy class. She had blonde hair cut into a short bob with freckles splattered across her nose behind a pair of thick red glasses that made her blue eyes look bigger than they were. It was another familiar shape, as she attended class with the girl almost every day, and this time it would be easier to copy her movements and speech patterns.

She hunched her shoulders forwards, giving herself a bit of a slouch and moved around the small area, dragging her feet every now and again. When she made a full turnabout, she face Shikajin again and addressed him, dropping her voice a little and making it a bit nasally, like she had a stuffy nose, or something.

"I didn’t think I could copy my dad enough to be satisfactory," she told him, meaning why she had switched characters. "So how is this?"

Shikajin realized that some of his instructions may have been a tad hopeful in nature and it would probably be a bit difficult for the young girl to copy whoever this older man's voice was, but simply transforming into someone or something else was only a fraction of the technique. A funny looking walk or looking completely uncomfortable in one's 'skin' could be a dead giveaway that something was amiss out in the field so it was imperative to try and perfect all the facets of the jutsu. The chunin was curious to see Kiseki's attempt but was surprised to see the girl end the technique before quickly reapplying it into... another girl.

All in all the technique looked to go off without a hitch and the Nara could see Kiseki visibly alter her posture to more accurately mimic whoever this was. Listening to the girl speak noted another change from her usual tone and it was one that would be easier for her to copy in this form. The girl had taken the instructions to heart and quickly adapted by choosing someone that she was both familiar with and would have an easier time emulating. Excellent.

"You did well to get the small details right. The posture, movement, and voice were all done well as far as I can tell, and being able to keep all those things in mind at once is impressive for your first couple times." Shikajin replied while nodding his head in approval. "Also, knowing your limitations and adapting on the fly are marks of a great shinobi. I believe your instructors at the academy will be more than pleased with your progress." The man added. She had taken great strides and the Nara was all but certain that Kiseki would have the jutsu down pact in no time, but practice made perfect and there was still work to be done even though Shikajin would probably regret what he was about to do next.

"With that said, it will do you well to get in some practice with a form that might be a little awkward. I would say it's nothing ridiculous but.. I'd be lying." With that the Nara would bite his thumb just enough to draw a trickle of blood before performing a set of seals and placing his hand on the ground. A large puff of smoke would slowly dissipate revealing a deer, or rather a deer that was playing dress up as a kid. "Hmm? What's this? Oh! Oh it's you Jinny! I knew that big mission was right around the corner and I'm raring ta go!" The small deer spoke with embattled passion. Shikajin sighed as he placed a hand on Mukei Mukei's head and turned him towards the still transformed Kiseki.

"Not a mission, training." The man replied as the deer began to process the situation. "Oh I see, like last time when you helped uh.. what was that kid's name? Itsuki! Yeah, that's it! More doctor stuff? I made an excellent patient last time didn't I?" Shikajin's face was that one someone who was ready to jump off a bridge but he reminded himself that the momentary annoyance was all for the young one's benefit. "No, no doctor stuff this time. This is Kiseki, er, more or less, and I'm helping her with the transformation technique and needed a more unique subject. Think you can stand still long enough for her to get a good look at you and give it a couple tries?" The Nara replied calmly.

"Oh for sure, anything for you Jinny!" MM replied joyously before turning his focus to the girl. "Kiseki, was it? Nice ta' meet ya, the name's Mukei Mukei, but everyone calls me MM for short. Let's get this show on the road and show me what ya got!" For all his exuberance MM was relatively easy to work with and for that Shikajin appreciated him, if only he would just turn down the hyper a bit.

DESCRIPTION:
One of the most common and beneficial techniques in the known shinobi world. Simply drawing blood and releasing a mass of chakra from one's extended hand is capable of calling an animal or otherwise to one's location. As a Space-Time Ninjutsu, this technique is capable of instantly displacing an intended summon from wherever they may be to the requested location, though there are obstacles that can prevent this. To use this jutsu, one must first make a contract with whatever they are summoning, living creature or not. Both the size and the stamina of what a shinobi calls upon increases the demand of chakra they must spend to perform the jutsu.

The youngest of Mukeikan's sons. Mukei-mukei is a rag tag thing compared to the other members of the Family. Standing at almost three feet tall, Mukei-Mukei is no intimidating sight. He has a round, soft body with stubby legs and arms. He is capable of bipedal motion as well as using all fours, though it should be noted he still has two goofily large forehooves. He wears maroon shorts and a red cape, along with a a red top hat, out of which extends his curved antlers.

PERSONALITY:
Mukei-mukei has a strong will to prove himself as an important member of the Family, even though he is young. He has a terrible habit of forcing himself to be summoned, especially when a relatively new signer with the Deer Family attempts to summon another member of the family. He believes that he is a big, strong tough guy, which is most likely the effect of some sort of little man syndrome. He aspires to be a hero one day, donning a cape to fit the part. Though he truly knows no fear, it comes off as a kid playing make believe.

The young kunoichi had to stop herself from making a noise of triumph as she managed to meet Shikajin-sensei’s expectations. She was calm. She was mature. She had fricken nailed it.

As Kiseki broke out of the transformation with a puff of smoke, she bounced on her toes, the beginnings of a full-on grin fighting to curl at her lips. She was beyond ecstatic at her success, but she had to keep relaxed, because the lesson wasn’t over quite yet.

Shikajin wanted her to practice some more, it seemed. Which made sense, because everyone knew that practice made perfect. She was all for it, but she didn’t understand what the older ninja meant by an awkward form - another animal, maybe? Well, she wasn’t wrong, and Shikajin’s meaning became obvious as he bit his thumb and summoned forth a deer from somewhere.

Kiseki inhaled sharply at the appearance of the small, bipedal deer, eyes going wide as dinner plates.

So cute.

Once again, she needed to contain her glee, because she was sure the neither Shikajin nor MM (oh my gods, what a cute name, what the heck?) would appreciate the girl fawning over the small summon.

So instead of losing it in a fit of immature fangirling, Kiseki simply nodded down at MM with a smile in greeting. "Nice to meet you too, MM," she said. "My name’s Kiseki."

With the introductions out of the way, she got the show on the road. First thing first, she needed to be able to picture the little deer perfectly in her mind’s eye if she wanted to transform into him., and that meant studying him a bit. So she crouched down to his level to get a better view and did just that.

She tried to absorb every little detail about MM that she could, which wasn’t that difficult, because she thought he was so cute that forgetting anything about him was borderline abhorrent in her mind.

Once she was confident that she had everything committed to memory, she gave another nod and stood back up. Picturing the cute, little deer in her head - from his antlers and hat, to his cape, and his cute, little hooves - she formed the handseal and was enveloped into a puff of smoke.

Once the smoke cleared, Kiseki hoped that she looked like a mirror image of MM, but she wasn’t totally sure without an actual mirror. What she could see, from looking down at herself, seemed to be a match. It was up to Shikajin to be the final judge.

She put her hooves on her hips, turning to look up at the chuunin. "Well, Jinny?" she asked, trying her hardest to emulate MM’s tone of voice. "Does it look okay?"

Shikajin was curious to see how the girl's attempt would turn out. She had picked up on the technique quickly and even her first attempt hadn't been bad per say, just an inability to focus on a single subject; but she had adapted quickly and performed two very well done transformations since then. MM would provide a unique challenge in that he was both an animal that normally didn't stand on two legs and was wearing human clothes. Granted, the transformation technique was just copying an image the user had in their mind but sometimes an awkward picture could throw a wrench into things.

As the puff of smoke cleared both the Nara and his summon would take a gander at the now transformed Kiseki and while things looked good to one the true judge would be the original. His eye twitched upon hearing the nickname again and if it was the last thing he did Shikajin would make sure that name never spread. The girl had amazing attention to detail that was for sure, maybe too good. "You're asking the wrong person." The chunin replied while pointing down to MM.

Eyes filled with consternation examined the copy as the small deer circled the girl checking for any flaw in her technique. Shikajin had rarely seen MM be so needlessly tense before but understood that the young deer was just trying to take advantage of the opportunity to be of use. He had a bit of a hero complex so whenever the spotlight shone his way MM was sure to savor every moment of it. Having circled completely around Kiseki the small deer would shoot a glance towards Shikajin before locking eyes with his doppelganger. "It looks... AMAZING!!" MM exclaimed gleefully as he extended a single hoof into the air in what was the deer equivalent of a thumbs up.

"The fur, the hat, the cape. My hooves look so shiny! You even copied my voice! Sounded just like me didn't she, Jinny?" MM questioned with a grass eating grin crossing his face. Taking a step forward the Nara would place a firm hand on top of both MM's as he looked between the two of them. "Yes, yes she did."

"You've done a fantastic job today Kiseki, and it looks like MM agrees. I'd say you've got this technique down to the t. Keep practicing on your own and you'll have everyone fooled in no time." Shikajin spoke offering the student one last bit of affirmation.

The girl was so happy about doing a good job, that this time Kiseki didn’t really hold back her excitement when MM told her that she had successfully made a mirror image. She stuck her hoof into the air, similar to MM’s thumbs up, and twisted around in a circle, letting out a little whoop of enjoyment.

She reached out and grabbed MM’s hooves in hers, "Thanks a whole bunch, MM!" she said, as she shook them vigorously. She released the small deer, turned back towards Shikajin, and canceled the jutsu, disappearing in a puff of smoke.

The smoke cleared, Kiseki reappearing in her normal shape and gave a small bow towards Shikajin. "And thank you so much, Nara-sensei," she said, "for teaching me. I’ll be sure to practice a lot."

And she would, she was gonna show everyone her new skill. Especially her dad, he would be excited to see how far she had come in her studies.

As soon as it was appropriate, Kiseki waved goodbye to Shikajin and MM and ran off from the training field. She needed to head home so she could show off her new skill as soon as possible.
