Kumogakure "If I ever had a thing for heights...pretty sure it's be kickin in right now..." Arashi would look down from the platform surrounded by the many mountain peak training sections, releasing a breath as she took in the air. It was soo thin next to what she was used to, and considering her limited experience here, she had still not gotten used to it. Still, she imagined it was what hardened much of the shinobi within Kumogakure. It was hard not to be impressed with their village. Everything in it seemed to tower over you, giving off the impression that you were under the constant gaze of the mountains. Or others... Given her entrance into the village, it was hard not to notice the guards that seemed to be lingering close by. She was after all the daughter of the Kazekage. Which meant, if anything happened to her, it could be dire. But aside from the incident upon her arrival, everything had been relatively calm. Much of what she had done was train and get the most out of time here. It was limited after all. Soon enough she had to return home, and she was only now starting to get a handle on this new level of abilities. Not to mention, she was starting to sleep just a bit better now. Not a lot, but it was enough... Her lack of true restfulness had been the reason she was out so early. The grounds were still partially empty, and from the looks of things, it would be hard to tell if you were alone considering the many adjust spaces that were available. Taking her gourd along with her, the Suna nin would traverse the bridged path to one such location, looking down from the side as she could see the world below. With her curiosity sated, she'd reach her destination as she then took the moment scan her surroundings. Shrugging her shoulders, the young female would then cup her hands on either side of her face, yelling out as she heard a faint echo of her cry respond. "Heh heh...okay...nough of that..." Taking that moment of silliness, Arashi would then begin to place herself within a fighting stance, her hands clawed partially as she began to step in forward, slashing once and then releasing a burst of sand from her gourd. As the surge flew from the surface, she'd then swipe her hand to the side, directing it to come back as she allowed it to float within the air as it created a small field around her as she continued to strike. SPOILER: Click to show -S.A Used- Will of Sand Will of Sand- Adding the element of her own chakra into the mixture of sand, Arashi is capable of faster and stronger sand manipulation and attacks. The extent of this control is due to the supply gathered within her gourd, granting the bonus of power, but limited to only the amount contained within it. This ability makes her constructions more dense and harder to break down, and the swiftness of their creation is instant rather than requiring the prior time of build-up as before due to the strengthened bond between Arashi and Shukaku. Ultimate Defense A Skill granted by her continued use and developed relationship with Shukaku over the continued use of his control over sand, Arashi has a stronger connection to the element, allowing her to use it at a much more intensive rate than before. As such, her defenses are much more adapt and capable of taking on stronger attacks and reinforcing itself at faster speed. This adaptation to the sand shield allows for it's reaction time to have increased and make it more challenging for attacks to connect and break through the first layer, while acting still on the natural inclinations of auto-repairing itself for the next strike. -Jutsu Used- -Items Used- x1 Gourd -Familiar Used-

A HEART'S A HEAVY BURDEN

Though early for the Desert Rose, it was late for Kizumi—she was still up from the night before even as the sun began cresting over the mountains. Even early morning sunlight was beaming and harsh at this altitude, relatively unimpeded by clouds and mist. There was too much work to do, and not enough time to do it in, but if she spent one more hour in her godsforsaken office she was going to lose her fucking mind. Fresh air did her good, as did a swig of the rum from the flask everpresent on her hip. The village was quiet still at this hour, most of the civilians and shinobi alike still waking up to begin preparing for the day ahead, save those working the end of the night shift. An echoing cry broke the quiet, bouncing off the mountains and into the air beyond. Kizumi grinned, and went to investigate the source. She knew it would be a visitor—nearly every newcomer to the Hidden Cloud indulged in that exact same action, provided they weren’t a total stick in the mud. She wasn’t expecting the Princess of the Sand, the Kazekage’s daughter, to be the indulgent visitor. But then, Kizumi thought, she’d be leaving soon. Best to get in all her indulgences while she could. Kizumi watched from a distance as Arashi started what looked like a well-practiced training routine, sand flowing from her gourd and following the arc of her swipes like it was an extension of her body. "Oonakayama-hime,” she called, once Arashi had reached what seemed like a decent stopping point in her exercise. "Want a training buddy? I doubt I can keep up, but—” Kizumi grinned, her head cocked. "—I’d hate to pass up the chance to work with you.”

Kumogakure "Uh? Oh! Lady Kizumi!" Swiping her hand back toward her chest, she'd allow the sand to flow back to her gourd, her body turning toward the woman and bowing respectfully. Considering her manners might not have been the best, she did try and make sure to remember that she was a guest here. Though perhaps the attempt at an echo so early in the morning was a bit much. "Thank you again for allowing me to train here...I hope not to be a..." It was at that moment that the village leader would ask if she may wish to have a training partner, prompting all possible politeness to vanish as her head rose up from it's lowered position, blank as she raised her brow in confusion. "Huh?" It wasn't often that a Kage would wish to spar with someone who was there subordinate in rank. It was even less likely to do so with a foreigner. There were certain techniques and skills that every village leader held. It was that secrecy that allowed for an unknown element when facing them. Unless they held a tactic that was well renowned. In truth, while Arashi certain had heard much of the Raikage before her, she wasn't familiar with her style of combat. Though the fact that she seemed to think that she was unable to keep up with her, left Arashi somewhat cautious in taking her offer, despite her praise. "Ya flatter me Ma'am...though I think it might be the other way around...on both accounts..." It was an opportunity to truly test herself. Her father was one thing, but it was a different story facing someone who truly wouldn't pull their punches. "I accept...I'll admit...I'm a bit curious..." Still, just how far should she actually go? The fact that she had come here was to improve on her overall abilities. That meant testing them....but could she actually do so in this kind of fight and against this kind of opponent? With her gourd once more holding an upraised stream of sand, Arashi would hold a toothy grin on her face as she then took a few steps back, presenting the seal of confrontation as she looked toward the woman with a calm expression. Kizumi had never been one for excessive formality—she was polite, most of the time, but the expectations of stations went over her head more often than not. Sure, she had the hat, but she was still an enlisted shinobi like anyone else. She couldn’t not train and risk falling behind, and she wasn’t so arrogant as to think that she could automatically take any given jounin in a fight. Definitely not this particular jounin. Arashi was being humble, but based on reputation alone, Kizumi suspected that she would be pressed to keep up with the Desert Rose even if the Ichibi weren’t a factor. Kizumi matched Arashi’s grin, and gave a short little bow: the start of a bout. She didn’t know much about how Arashi fought, aside from the immediately obvious stream of sand, so the first step would be to get a decent gauge of the woman’s abilities. "If there’s anything you’re trying to refine, feel free to test it out,” Kizumi said. "I’ve been thinking that I need to step up the speed, myself.” She touched one of the leather straps on her wrist, quickly summoning to hand a large battleaxe. Not one of her go-to weapons, but she wanted to keep her options open! Rather than pressing the attack, though, she spun it deftly in hand and took up a light stance, defensive and ready to react. "You can go hard,” Kizumi assured the younger woman brightly. "I can take a beating, and I trust you to not try to, yanno, murder me.”

DESCRIPTION:
An advanced version of Hikin Fuinjutsu, in which objects that are sealed within their respective holders are branded with a special formula. This particular seal allows its wielder to call upon whatever is placed in the seal with a simple touch of the marker, instantly bringing the weapon into one's hand at the ready. The technique works to cut the time it would normally take to summon and wield a weapon by having the seal in a place of easy access, such as upon straps on one's wrist or the wrists themselves, being able to summon and use a weapon in a seamless moment. Summoning is not as straight forward as the child technique, however, as wired contraptions can be called upon, instantly winding and attaching the wire to one's hand the moment it is summoned.

as far as buki specialists go, kizumi is something of a generalist. she's devoted her life to mastering the usage of as many weapons as possible, so while she's not exceptionally skilled with a specific weapon type, she prides herself on her versatility and adaptability in weapon usage. she's experienced and capable with swords both one-handed and two-handed, shields, small knives, polearms, bows, and what she likes to call improvised weapons, including but not limited to beer bottles and big rocks.

she just won't stay down. a lifetime of hard knocks has given kizumi an unnatural degree of gumption and willpower. her mental fortitude shines in her physical prowess--she can take quite a few hits before going down, and is able to push herself to the absolute limit of what her body can do.

kizumi has focused on practical workouts for most of her life, forgoing pushups and pullups in favor of training with various weapons, hauling heavy items around, running and swimming for miles on end, and other various everyday strength training exercises--all with additional weight dragging her down. since beginning strength training as a shinobi, her physical power has improved leaps and bounds to a level well beyond that of an average jounin.

in the pursuit of true versatility and with a mild paranoia that she's liable to lose a hand one day, kizumi does all of her training with both hands, and has carefully forced herself into ambidexterity. she's right-handed by nature, but goes through her daily life left-handed in an effort to increase her comfort using both hands.

"Heh...Not my style...least in training anyway..." Jokes aside, this was going to be quite the interesting sparring match. Arashi was fighting an unknown to her and it was her hope that perhaps she was viewing her the same way. Which could be both good and bad. It meant that she could very much surprise her, though it also meant that there was a lot that she probably should avoid. Though just how much information was out there on her? A question for later at least... Lightning Round about Still, considering what she was up against, and what she could assume, there was a very good chance that it wouldn't exactly be a straight forward fight. Her usage of Sealing Jutsu was proof of that...along with... Did she just summon a battle ax?! With the woman taking on a defensive position, it seemed that she was leaving Arashi to make the first move. Best to test the waters than. If she was able to work out some things, maybe she better do so. Holding her ground, Arashi would wave her hand to the side, summoning a burst of sand from her gourd, forming a series of small weapons from it's shapeless mass as they hurled toward the Raikage. In the process, Arashi was already performing a set of seals with her hands, crossing the surface of her forehead with her fingertips as a seal appeared and then vanished just as quickly behind her bangs. I swear I don't think this much normally....the hell with it...I'll wing it... Narrowing her gaze, she'd allow the twelve weapons to continue their course, her expression serious as she watched their movements and then prepared as the various objects of sand would attack at the Raikage, buying time as the young shinobi began to move across the circular platform. Trained under one of it's great masters, her skill and understanding of this nearly forgotten artform only grew and has become more seasoned over time. With this knowledge, the shinobi is capable of identifying the nature and abilities of a seal just by looking at it, mapping out their structure, strength, and abilities based on previous experience and her own studies with the craft. This skill also allows for her own seals to become much stronger in their usage, extend their duration people(1 post), able to modify them to suit a specific situation or to quickly implement them in the field. -Jutsu Used- NAME: Suna no sōzō: Āsenaruasaruto [Sand Creation:Arsenal Assault] RANK: B CHAKRA USAGE: Medium CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu DESCRIPTION: A technique that requires as much imagination as it does skill, the user is capable of manipulating the density of the sand around them and construct a variety of weapons and defenses. These constructs are made of hardened minerals, capable of taking and dealing considerable damage. The instant creation of these constructs can happen in that of a split second, though the size of these creations slows down their development, along with their regulated weight class, such as the difference between a war-hammer and that of a broad sword. Yet, these can be no bigger than the actual size of their physical design. They can be reshaped though in mid-combat, adjusting to the change in situation. NAME: Betsuji Fuin Kai [Future Time Seal Release] RANK: A CHAKRA USAGE: High CLASSIFICATION: Fūinjutsu ELEMENT: - HANDSEALS: 5 | 1 to activate DESCRIPTION: The user performs the necessary hand seals for this technique, then after they perform the hand seals and chakra molding for one more technique. The user effectively seals away the 2nd technique used along with the chakra necessary to cast it into a seal they place upon their forehead reading "capsule". This allows the user to prepare a specific technique to be activated upon a single hand seal any time into the future, even when they have almost no chakra saved up later on. Once the seal is released, the technique is used immediately afterward and the seal on the forehead vanishes. Only one instance of this seal can be active at a time. Limited to B-Rank jutsu and below. Only the initial cost is covered, channeling must still be paid for at activation if desired. ------------Sealed Jutsu--------- NAME: Fūinjutsu: Fūin no Bunshin [Sealing Technique: Clone of Sealing] RANK: B CHAKRA USAGE: Medium CLASSIFICATION: Fūinjutsu ELEMENT: - HANDSEALS: 1 [Hare] DESCRIPTION: The jutsu requires a medium that the user can write the symbols (封分身) on, including tags. The user seals away chakra within the medium and can later activate the seal using the Hare handseal. The activation creates a clone with physical substance at the location of the seal. Like Kage Bunshin no Jutsu, the user's chakra is spread evenly among clones, and the clones are capable of limited physical attacks. However, the Sealing Clones are only capable of performing fuuinjutsu that the user knows, can't stray too far from the user, and are easily defeated by any weak attack.
