The final round.
Miroru sat in her waiting room against the furry side of her companion. The same place she'd been almost since the very end of the last match. She hadn't wanted to be alone, or around others. She just wanted some there to be with her, and the foxes were better at that than anyone.
Koutashi was extremely large, a full six feet at the shoulders, and would be half again that if ever given reason to rear up on his hind legs. He was quite lanky, so he wasn't extremely soft to lean against, but Miroru was still stressed, even now, so she tucked in beneath his feathers and just... tried to think.
Konsho had tried to keep fighting. He hadn't even realized his arm was off. He'd gotten up and kept stumbling towards her, off balance and not even aware of it.
And now she was up against the single youngest competitor in the exams.
Was this how everyone else had felt? This weird discomfort? It wasn't that she thought he couldn't swing it- unlike her, he'd wiped the floor with all his matches, proving his power without reservation. She wasn't exactly scared either. Losing was an acceptable outcome, as long as she made it through without any too-serious injuries.
What she was worried about was whether she could stay on her tightrope and still manage that.
The pintsized kid packed more power than anyone here. Even Konsho, and Konsho was extremely strong and fast. Goro pushed it a level further, and he wasn't doing it by leaning on a Bijuu, either. She could match him, she thought- maybe- but only by using everything the Old Fox had made available to her. Maybe even more. And if she let him do what he wanted, she'd be in pieces. She was tougher than a lot of their competitors, but this Okada kid was just... beyond.
A notification sounded, and Koutashi spoke, calmly.
"It is time."Miroru rose and dusted herself off. "I hope I won't need your help- but... please be ready if I do." The words were spoken without looking his way, but she could almost feel the soft inclination of Koutashi's snout before she grabbed her staff and kit to strap on while on the way out to await her introduction on the ramp.
She emerged, for the first time, into an arena surrounded by lit spotlights. All her other fights had been daylight hours. Still, it didn't change much. She just couldn't see the audience so well this time around.
She took her place and waited for Goro, and only spoke briefly before they started.
"It's nice knowing nobody's gonna treat the other like a kid." She made the Konoha handseal indicating respect at the start of a match, and then fell into a closed taijutsu pose, hands close together.
"Let's do our best, Okada-san."The instant, the very instant, the signal to start was given, she flashed an extremely swift handseal and exploded into smoke, clearing almost immediately to reveal five Miroru's standing together, the four in front all drawing kunai and throwing them, staggered, at Goro. Each kunai was held until he had committed to evading the last, the intent being to either delay an immediate up-front charge, or to at least punish it. The fifth one, standing behind the other four, swiftly executed a barrier jutsu, surrounding herself with a faint
armor-like field, as the four others, all but one with empty hands, took up three different Taijutsu poses (and one Bukijutsu) and awaited Goro's inevitable crash into or over their ranks with
quick rotating dodges,

Clones! Barrier armor! Clones throwing staggered kunai to delay Goro or punish a rush in! Prepared to defend themselves and buy time for the fifth, protected one to get creative!
