When compared to the other shinobi nations, Konoha already had more than its fair share of diligent hero types. Maybe it was a reflection of their stalwart leader, but there seemed to be no shortage of young shinobi filled to bursting with ambition.
So, while he wasn’t lazy or dismissive of the struggles looming over the horizon for his home village, Yu was perhaps a bit too comfortable with the notion that his development and accomplishments weren’t exactly paramount. To quite the contrary, he was less of a hero, more of an employee. He clocked in, he clocked out, he slept, and then he did it all over again.
But, while his contributions while in the office each day were still substantial, it seemed as though his lack of drive had caught the attention of some of his supervisors. Today he was to meet with one of the more esteemed higher ups in the Barrier Corps to go over some plans for Yu’s growth and to address any key failings or areas particularly in need of improvement.
One of the most obvious would no doubt be that whole
‘actually doing barriers’ thing. The position was one that promised stability and more time in the village, but the young man had allowed that comfort to get the better of him and turn into complacency. Now, if he didn’t start to improve fast, he’d likely start seeing a lot more of these remedial type trainings.
He swallowed hard as he entered one of the training rooms in the Barrier Corps HQ building, not sure what to expect. Hopefully whatever it was didn't keep him so long that he ended up late for dinner.
