[attr="class","lightbluetext"]Balancing on her toes, Kaida swung her arms and crouched up and down, warming her muscles as she waited for her teammate to show up. The girl had been going stir-crazy, stuck inside the village with not much to do, so it was about time she had been assigned a mission.

Even if it was just to the farms, it was a change of scenery, so Kaida was looking forward to it. Plus, she was going to meet one of the two new genin she had been assigned to team up with. It had been a while since the Village had given her a team, so she was excited to see what they thought would be a good match for her. Hopefully, whoever they were, they’d be able to keep up with her.

When she was done with her squats, Kaida straightened up and moved over to a nearby half-wall, sitting down as she looked over her equipment, making sure it was all accounted for and ready. She had quite a bit stuffed into the pockets of her coat, but it was better to be safe than sorry.

Once she was sure everything was in order, all there was to do was to wait for her partner, this Gūre Rikuto, to show up and then they could get going to go and beat some pests up.

Having once been the host to the Rokubi, Kaida's chakra system was forever changed from the average supply it had once been. While it's not nearly as much as it was with Saiken behind her, Kaida now has a vast well of chakra that she is able to draw upon.

This allows her to her to consistently use the higher-ranked, more powerful, techniques that would exhaust the girl under normal circumstances, if she does choose to do so. Though she had to give up any hopes of using the finite control needed for most medical techniques, she is still determined to find a way around that particular limitation.

With her mother’s profession, Kaida has constantly been surrounded by medics and has always been fascinated by them. She wanted to learn everything about them. She dove into books and annoyed her parents with questions. She learned everything she could about not only Medical Ninjutsu, but conventional medicine as well.

When she lost her chakra control due to being possessed by the Rokubi, Kaida lost her ability to use medical jutsu, but she didn’t lose her knowledge. And thanks to her gumption and near obsessive studying, Kaida is still very proficient in using conventional means to heal people.

She can tend to many types of wounds, varying from minor to severe. The girl is even able to identify several poisons and toxins. He talent means she is capable of treating these maladies, even with her limited resources. Though she can't cure them outright, she can easily stabilize people, if needed, until someone with on-the-spot healing is able to tend to them.

On the darker flipside, Kaida's knowledge of human anatomy allows her to know the best places to strike, giving her an edge by being able to inflict the most damage with the least effort. She tries to utilize this knowledge with her skills so she can end fights quickly and efficiently.

What was the point of missions? All it ever did was help some random person accomplish some goal they could do themselves. Yet these weakling of civilians required the help of shinobi to help them simply because they couldn't take care of their mess. Ridiculous. Rikuto hated everything about this, but there was one silver lining that made him more willing to take on this specific mission. This mission required them to stop wild boars from eating the crops of a farm and while Rikuto did approve of the nature in which boars lived their lives he didn't like the idea of poor defenseless crops being tormented by them. So while his viewpoints on the matter were askew it did temporarily ally him with the farmer requesting the help.[break][break]

Rikuto would also have to deal with another new headache. The assigning of a new team. He had been through so many he was getting sick and tired of the rotating genin who he would work with. It made this whole shinobi lifestyle exhausting especially since he was only in it for the money. Due to past circumstances though he knew he had to make himself look as normal as possible to others otherwise he risked ridicule and disfavor so before he even headed to the location where they would meet up he would need to take precautions. [break][break]

He hated doing this as it meant he would always start a mission out with just a little bit less chakra than normal, but it was for the better of his sanity. using the surface dyeing technique he would change the coloration of his skin to be that of normal human tint. With his new chocolate skin tone, he would at the very least look normal to most people and civilians. He could have dyed his hair too, but honestly, it was such a hassle to do both so he only opted for the one part.[break][break]

Once he was fully ready he would head over to their meeting spot and while he would normally use migration to travel through the ground and lurk in the shadows he wanted to keep his chakra as abundant as possible. Opting to walk amongst the people to his destination plus it would be a waste to have changed his skin tone simply to hide in the shadows anyways. He didn't get the normal stares he would get when he was in his fungal-ridden form which was honestly a nice change of pace. Reaching his destination he would find his teammate a girl who was decked out in green and had a full head of hair in an orange coloration. "What no purple to be one of each secondary color?" Rikuto would say in his normal sarcastic tone to his new teammate.

There was a boy walking towards her, and she could only assume that it was Rikuto. The boy’s appearance was regular enough, but something seemed a little off, but she couldn’t explain what. As long as it didn’t affect the mission, it really didn’t matter.

She was about to introduce herself, try to be friendly, when the other boy opened his mouth and she threw all plans of friendliness out the window. The comment ruffled her feathers and she became irritated, though she couldn’t exactly place why. Maybe it was the boy’s tone. Or maybe she had some weird sixth sense against the other. Whatever. It didn’t matter to her. Really.

She rolled her eyes and shifted her weight, cocking a hip and resting a fist against it. "Clever. Come up with that on the spot? Or did you rehearse in the mirror?" She asked, blowing a stray bang out of her face.

"Fukuizumi Kaida," she introduced in a short, clipped tone. "You must be Gure Rikuto?" Part of her hoped not, that this was just some random rude boy and she wouldn’t be stuck with him for several hours while on the mission. How lucky would that be? She doubted she was that lucky.

Once the pleasantries were completed, Kaida would turn on her heel and begin heading towards the Village gates. She was all of a sudden not wanting to draw this field trip out.

He couldn't help and smirk when she made her retort. This will be a fun person to mess with especially if she could be snarky back right to him. So he just had to rebuttal her comment and say, "Funny guess we know your style is as gaudy as it is predictable." Rikuto would then give a bow to the girl as she introduced herself and added, "At your service my dear." He would add a chuckle as he raised back up from his bow and took a good look at his companion for this mission. She would certainly be someone entertaining to mess with on this mission though he would need to be careful not to push her buttons too much. Didn't want to jeopardize the mission after all he needed the money from it to get a place of his own.[break][break]

Following along behind his mission partner he would stay quiet for their trip to the farm. Since he wasn't the one to start a conversation of pleasantries, but rather verbal stings he felt it would be better for the current situation if he stayed quiet for a while. Yet this made the mission a tad boring so he had to ask, "So what do you do?" He said this a little harshly as if he was questioning her competence, but it was more supposed to be him asking what she was capable of bringing to the mission to help them complete it promptly.

[attr="class","lightbluetext"]Rikuto made a snarky comment back at her snarky comment and Kaida did the oh-so-mature thing of sticking her tongue out before she whirled around and began power walking out of the Village. Angry shivers ran down her spine at the "my dear", making her pause and she had to take a calming breath before continuing down the path.

What did she do? The tone continued to raise Kaida’s hackles and the kid was going to figure out what she did up close and personal if he kept it up. But, punching out a teammate right from the get go was probably not the best way to convince people she was doing better.

"Taijutsu, mostly. I like hitting things," she said, hopefully it wasn’t too subtle of a hint to the boy. "I’m also decent at medical stuff. So, heal, harm, I do both."

Part of her didn’t want to return the question, as the walk to their destination wasn’t that much further and she really wasn’t liking her new teammate. But, the awkward silence that permeated their space was overwhelming, so she bit the bullet.

"What about you?" she asked, turning to face Rikuto so she was walking at a slight angle. "What do you do?"

This was turning out to be quite delightful as her reaction to his words was fantastic. He enjoyed toying with people and the way she responded made things quite fun. Even if he could tell she wasn't enjoying it Rikuto was and that's all that mattered to him though he didn't push it further cause he was supposed to be working with her and it wouldn't do well to push her too much. So when she stormed off he gave her a bit of room to collect herself before following along. He wasn't a complete jerk after all.[break][break]

Eventually, she would answer his question about what she did and Rikuto could tell she was still in a sour mood from his comment earlier. Still, he found her answer quite sublime as it would compliment his abilities quite well. She could be the frontline of her team and do wonders for their combat tactics! She would return the question right back at him after some time to which he would say delightfully, "I tend to delve into incapacitation and guarding though I can also obstruct too. So I'm more of a defensive user so I would say this would do well at making sure you get your hits in easily." Rikuto was very genuine in how he was about how their specs could complement each other quite well in combat and hoped maybe she could see what he saw too.

[attr="class","lightbluetext"]Kaida tilted her head, twirling strands of hair around her fingers, as she contemplated Rikuto’s answer. Being able to incapacitate their enemies would be useful for her style, so apparently the boy wouldn’t be completely useless. Now they just needed to see if the two of them would be able to work together. It was easy to say their styles would compliment each other - doing it in practice was another thing completely.

The journey to their destination wasn’t a long one, only a couple of hours, but it seemed to drag by much more slowly for Kaida. She was steadfastly ignoring Rikuto, refusing to be goaded any further. But, eventually, they finally arrived at the farmlands.

The rolling hills were covered with the fields as far as the eye could seem growing all sorts of good produce. It was a picturesque scene, one Kaida would like to appreciate for a good while, if they didn’t have a job to do.

The two of them found the farmer who had hired the shinobi rather easily, he waved them down when he saw the headbands of Kusagakure. There was a short conversation where the farmer pointed out the area where the wild boars had been appearing and sent the two kids on their way.

The field was nearest to the forest and it had seen better days. Something, or several somethings, had torn up large plots of crops and left a right mess in their wake. It was pretty obvious to see that the trail of wreckage led from the fields right back into the woods. "Well, looks like we need to track them down," Kaida said to Rikuto as she began following the trail.

She didn't respond to his comments about how they would work well together and instead kept her silence. Which made him very intrigued by what was going on in that little mind of hers to keep herself so silent. Was she still fuming from his comments before or was she thinking tactfully of how they could work together? The idea of the former made him a bit giddy especially because that meant he could toy around with her more, but if it was the latter he honestly wouldn't have minded either. It would mean she could be the tactician to their little squadron and do all the heavy thinking which honestly was such a bore to Rikuto. He would just rather let others do all the heavy lifting in a mission and if she was going to be the one to take on the role he wouldn't contest it.[break][break]

They would eventually make it to the farm which their mission would entail and soon would find themselves in a field near the forest afterwards. Such a lovely place for Rikuto. The absence of the sun and the number of fungal bacteria that could dwell in there titillated him. Kaida would make a comment about having to track them down which wasn't an ability in his skill set, but what he did have was hit migration technique which meant he could find them without alerting them of his position. The only issue was using that technique so early could drain him and reveal his rather obscene face to Kaida and he would much rather avoid someone seeing his dark visage. So he would ask Kaida, "Got any sensory or tracking abilities in your arsenal?" It would come off slightly snide on accident, but he was genuine in his question to her.

The boars had left a rather clear trail to follow, filled with trampled ground, broken branches, and leftover bits of pilfered foodstuffs. It would be a piece of cake for the genin.

It didn’t take them more than ten minutes of traversing through the forest until the two genin would begin to hear noises up ahead. Kaida would slow to a crawl and begin to approach the noises. Up ahead was a small clearing surrounded by a thick brush that hid the genin from view of the creatures within the clearing.

Two large boars stood in the clearing going to town on a pile of vegetation, some of it made from stolen crops, some of it made from scrounged-up forest food. It was odd to see the pile, to say the least, but it had the boars’ attention and that’s all that mattered.

Kaida formed a handseal and four shuriken appeared between her fingers. They were made of glittering water, forms constantly shifting yet remaining solid. She looked at Rikuto, whispered a "Get ready", and then, with a flick of her wrists, shot the shuriken out towards the boars.

They struck the beasts on the flanks, two in each and squeals filled the clearing. Angry and in pain, the boars whirled around and began charging in the direction of the genin. Kaida flooded her system with chakra and quickly ran out of the way. She whirled around to the side of one of the boars and pulled back her foot, then swung the weighted limb forwards to slam into the creature’s side.

The user creates 10 shuriken, made out of water, and throws them at the opponent in quick succession. These water shuriken have the same cutting power as their metal counterparts.

A very simple technique, by using chakra the user is able to instantly accelerate their selves to their max speed. This can be done in just about any condition, but any techniques that slow the user's movement (such as armor from jutsu or most jutsu that might slow an individual) will still affect them.

Konoha Reppu [Tree Leaf Gale]

This technique is a good example of how even simple taijutsu can become a pre-eminently destructive, lethal technique. The attack is a simple rear spinning low kick, but a strong enough user can send a large adult flying as if they weighed nothing. The goal is to throw the enemy off balance, and deal damage to the lower half of their body.

Having once been the host to the Rokubi, Kaida's chakra system was forever changed from the average supply it had once been. While it's not nearly as much as it was with Saiken behind her, Kaida now has a vast well of chakra that she is able to draw upon.

This allows her to her to consistently use the higher-ranked, more powerful, techniques that would exhaust the girl under normal circumstances, if she does choose to do so. Though she had to give up any hopes of using the finite control needed for most medical techniques, she is still determined to find a way around that particular limitation.

Guess she wasn't going to try and work well with him. So be it he would just have to rely on himself if scouting was something she was going to be doing much for this mission. Though she did have a point to a degree about not needing it since all they had to do was follow their tracks he just figured this way the creatures wouldn't sense them coming, but if she wanted to make the mission harder that was on her. So long as they completed it he would still get paid and that was all Rikuto was even here for.[break][break]

After some time they would reach an area where the boars would be feasting upon their haul of the crops. Smart creatures to bring them out so far from the farms. Rikuto couldn't help but admire their resilience to scavenging, but he was on a job so they would have to be taken out or at the very least taken away. Following Kaida's movements he would nod when she told him to get ready. She was going to attack that much was obvious, but Rikuto would have other plans himself and readied himself his technique.[break][break]

Kaida would toss her shuriken hitting the beasts which would anger them causing them to charge towards them in frustration. Kaida would be quick to react to attack them with her Taijutsu which was something that made Rikuto forwn. He did not like violence, but he wasn't going to stop someone else from using their abilities just because he didn't like it. He would tolerate it for an ally he would just never attack anyone himself. Which is what he was going to do for the boar coming his way. Weaving the appropriate hand seal a mushroom would sprout in front of him. This mushroom was as big as an oak tree and would cause the boar heading his way to ram right into it. [break][break]

Afterward, Rikuto felt it was necessary to subdue the boars. "You might want to move away," He would say in warning to Kaida so she wouldn't get caught in the technique he was planning on using as he would then weave the ox hand seal. He would then begin to mold spores in his mouth with his chakra and once it was completed, and Kaida was a good distance away, he would release them. The pod would travel to the boars and then explode on contact to release its spores. These spores would then attach to the boars and resist their movements while giving them a glowing green glow. "Now would be a good time to take care of them," Rikuto would say giving Kaida her queue to finish the boars off.[break][break]

This particular fungi is comparable in size to a large Oak tree. It instantly emerges from the ground once the hand seal is made, defending against incoming attacks or stopping advancing or pursuing Shinobi. The durability of this jutsu allows it to withstand blunt force and cutting damage, while being weak against piercing damage or the katon element.[break][break]

After doing the Ox hand seal, the Gure clan member use their unique chakra to create mold spores within their mouth. Once done they will release the spores in greenish compact spore pod. The pod travel about 10 meters away from the user before exploding within the air or upon contact with a hard surface. If caught within the released spores, the spores will attach to exposed skin and grow into a green colored mold that restrict movement until its fully matured. The mold uses the users chakra to sustain itself, making it harder for the target to move let alone fight. It takes four posts after being exposed to the cloud for the mold to fully mature and then die, ending the jutsu. The safest way to remove the mold before maturity is by cleaning oneself with water.
