Enyo didn't care about Ikana's sentiments, he was a shinobi and would not be so quickly and easily bested as she was imagining in her head. Plus, his attention was almost entirely pointed towards their sensei at this point staring quietly towards the woman in the tree. Indeed, quietly, for once.

They were too aggressive, aggression was the only thing Enyo understood. He understood it better than almost anything else in life. Silent coordination? Wouldn't that also require some form of aggression? It was not as if he had put Ikana in any kind of danger with his attacks, it had been Ikana putting him in danger repeatedly with her attacks. If anyone should learn it should be her...

Regardless there was not much time to contemplate this sort of thing when their sensei inquired if they were ready, Enyo simply shrugged in response.

"No choice but to be ready, sensei." He remarked plainly, an ounce less of the snottiness in his voice as he wiped at his face to smear the black blood across the back of his hand, he could use it still and he would if given the right opportunity. But Sora would unlikely make it an easy venture like some people did.

Aggression. Ikana looked onward and found that perhaps there was some merit to Sora's words. Ikana didn't have as much restraint when it came to the affairs of violence. Namely because she fell into a natural state of killer instinct upon falling deeply into its constraints. Yet. Even she could tell that in situations such as this, she ought to be the one initiating the assault. Against a physically superior opponent like Sora, Enyo would be a poor distraction, too easily overpowered or overwhelmed. Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes and considered her options then.

"I got it..." She responds, and within a moment, Ikana reaches down to her side and remains calculated in her tactic. Swerving into the battle, she draws her Wakizashi, the blade glowing bright blue with chakra as it extends its reach, digging into the soil as she dashes towards Sora at her top speed, towards her left side. Before then hopping and crouching towards the ride before slashing diagonally upwards towards the pinkette swordsman. Assuming the slash was dodged, a crescent of chakra flies into the air, straight above them, ripping into the trunk and branches of a tree, causing it to begin to collapse downwards upon the two of them. Seeking to use the environment to her advantage, as to draw her attention to multiple ends. Her blade no longer glowing.

"Pay attention to me!" She shouts, immediately slashing with the backhand slash, looking to oppress Sora, up until the very last second where they'd need to move. The two of them weren't going to get anywhere unless they came at Sora with the intention to kill. So. That said, it was time for Enyo to position himself wisely and go for the decisive strike.

Sora could almost hear Enyo’s thoughts, the look on his blood-smeared face all but screaming his displeasure at her assessment. Well, he could dislike it all he wanted; the boy had made the first strike, had wanted to pick a fight with someone he had no information on beyond their age, and that instinct needed to be curbed, hard, before it got someone killed. Still, both Genin seemed ready to keep going, so as Ikana spoke the Jounin drew her blade, holding it in a loose grip, waiting. She had a feeling the girl would make the first move this time, somewhat against her previous advice, and wanted to-

The pink-haired woman moved, instincts pushing chakra through Samidare as she swung the weapon in a nearly horizontal arc, meeting Ikana’s Saber Jutsu with her own, significantly stronger version. The two chakra cuts clashed for the briefest of moments before hers won out, shattering the Genin’s attack in a spray of blue. Sora met Ikana’s second blow indirectly, posing her sword between herself and Ikana as she flowed around the cut, bringing her weapon to rest against the girl’s neck while she held a single hand up to Enyo to signal that he was not to act just yet.

"And that, Ikana, is what I am talking about. I hadn’t even said to start yet." She said, voice calm but firm, lips pursed in a thin line as she stepped back, allowing the girl to get out of range of her weapon again. "Both of you are far too quick to pull the trigger on a fight; if I was an enemy, you’d be dead, and Enyo would be left to fend for himself against a vastly superior foe. Which is the exact same mistake he made not five minutes ago."

The woman paused, looking between both of them before she spoke again, letting her words sink in before she spoke again, still the same stern instructor as before, albeit one with far less annoyance in her voice. "Now when I say go, I want you two to work together to land a hit on me. It doesn’t have to be a killing blow. It doesn’t even have to be a solid shot. A nick will do. What’s important is you do it together."

NAME: Ittoryu: Ryuurei Fusagu [One Sword Style: Flowing Block]
RANK: D
STAMINA USAGE: Very Low
CLASSIFICATION: Bukijutsu
ELEMENT: N/a
HANDSEALS: N/a
DESCRIPTION: Less a set technique and more a way of utilizing one’s weapon to the fullest, Ryuurei Fusagu is designed around one core concept- the art of "flowing,” like water, around an attack in order to open up new angles and create opening in an opponent’s defenses that would not naturally be there if you stand against them face to face. To this end, the steps of the technique are rather simple: the user brings their weapon up to deflect an opponent’s blow as normal, but steps around the attack rather than holding their ground (without dropping their block), thus deflecting the incoming blow while forcing their enemy into a momentary overextension, opening them up for a counter-strike. Though quite useful, this technique is limited to use in close quarters, and is utterly useless at range.

Special Abilities:
The Kunoichi That Goes On And On And On… [Endurance SA]
Perhaps part of her genetics or simply a random quirk of fate, Sora is unnaturally resilient, be it to physical pain or the toils of extended combat. While most Shinobi would collapse in exhaustion at having used all but the smallest sliver of their chakra reserves, she pushes on; while most Shinobi would wilt beneath the weight of sleepless night after sleepless night, she keeps going. This does not mean she does not feel pain/the strain of extended combat, but rather that her threshold for shutting down because of it is far higher than others. To give an example, if she were to be stabbed through her abdomen, she would still feel the pain of the injury, and it would hinder her ability to move/act, but it wouldn’t stop her, whereas a normal ninja might freeze up or shut down from the pain.

Bet You Didn’t See That Coming [Speed SA]
A byproduct of her enhanced endurance, Sora (despite what many would think) dislikes being injured- and with that dislike comes the intense desire to avoid getting hurt, a desire that has pushed her to hone her body until it could move faster than most others of her rank. In short, Sora is fast- very, very fast.

POWAH! UNLIMITED POWAH!! [Chakra Reserves SA]
After a lifetime of utilizing nearly every ounce of chakra in her body just to survive, Sora’s chakra reserves have expanded a considerable amount to compensate- while she’s no Jinchuuriki, her ability to toss out jutsu after jutsu and still have enough chakra to keep going is quite remarkable, a testament to just how much of the stuff she actually has.

I Am Not Left-Handed [Kenjutsu Mastery SA]
Sora is not merely a Kenjutsu specialist- she is a master when it comes to the art of the sword; after over two decades of training, her skills are unrivaled within Kirigakure, falling short only to the Seven Swordsman themselves… some of them, anyway. This mastery allows her a distinct advantage when fighting other Bukijutsu specialists of similar or lesser rank.

If You Try For Speed, You Do Not Achieve Speed [Bukijutsu Speed SA]
Beyond being a master of Kenjutsu, Sora has practiced for decades to become the faster swordswoman she can be. As such, her Kenjutsu techniques come out faster and move quicker than those performed by others of her rank.

Equipment: Samidare | Spring Rain Blade (Drawn)
SA’s
Unbreakable
Whatever metal and forging process was used in the creation of Samidare, it worked; Samidare is utterly unbreakable by most any means, capable of being engulfed in an S-Rank Jutsu and remaining unscathed. Though it is possible that the blade could potentially be broken by a sufficiently powerful attack (such as, say, a Bijuu-dama), this has never been tested, so it is not known if it would survive.

Sharper Than Your Average Blade
Due to its nature as an unbreakable blade, Samidare bears a cutting edge that is of particular note, which allows it to slice through even steel with little in the way of resistance, so long as the proper force is applied. Additionally, this edge never needs to be resharpened, as it never grows dull or rolls, thus making it perfect for frontline combat.

Light as Spring Rain
Perhaps a quirk of its forging (or perhaps an intentional feature), Samidare is considerably lighter than a blade its size and length ought to be; while this would normally result in a less effective weapon, Samidare loses none of its integrity or cutting power, as it is somehow able to leverage the same amount of force through less mass. This lightness allows the user to swing the weapon about with much greater speed for the same amount of physical exertion.

Chakra Conduction
Being Chakra Conductive, Samidare is capable of channeling all types of Chakra for use in Bukijustu, and, more particularly, it has a slight affinity for Raiton chakra thanks to Sora’s constant use of the blade for that purpose. This affinity does not do anything of real note, but it does feel as if the blade were more eager to drink in Raiton Chakra than other types.

Enyo looked almost too relaxed at all of what happened, he didn't even flinch. He just stared and couldn't help but smirk a little at the way the sword came around Ikana's neck. He wasn't eager to save the girl, especially since they had received orders to not yet attack. If anything, at least his previous attack had been strategic, it had been meant to be a perfect distraction. Too bad the woman had been alerted, a regular person would not have been alerted to such a technique. It was not his fault earlier that Ikana had not caught onto it well enough.

So there he stood, staring, waiting.

He disagreed, fully with the woman's assessment and it was clear that he disagreed as he stared at her. His actions had not been so brash...

Once Ikana was released, Sora demanded that they land a hit using teamwork. It was something Enyo could accomplish, given the right tools and commands. In this instance he was more than ready to comply, mostly because he wanted to go home and have a meal at this point. He was quite bored and annoyed by all of this and felt no desire to show off anymore.

"Heh, yeah Ikana-" He chided his smirk widening a bit. "Slow it down."

And then his gaze moved back to Sora, waiting for the go ahead.

So. Maybe Ikana was indeed getting a little overzealous. Sora had looked to press on the topic of teamwork, but honestly, she didn't know too much about Enyo. He didn't know all that much about her either. Taking the liberty to lower her blade, she stepped back a few steps when she came to realize that maybe she wasn't the best team player. After all, she'd been running it solo for so long, there were few people that she had chemistry with. A good cohesion and understanding of people's skills and talents was important. She was told to slow it down. Waiting for a few moments, she took a deep breath.

"Hai...hai. Let's do this again." She says, focusing on her opponent before her, but also on Enyo. His positioning. Wondering how she ought to support him. He seemed to have some mid range potential last she saw with his blood jutsu. Maybe some throwing weapons. Figured that she'd have the greater advantage in pressing in for close range, despite their sensei's uncanny talent for that sort of thing. "...I'd have liked if we could have worked out a formation before hand." She says, but takes the liberty to tilt her head and ask.

"Tell me if you want to hit her from far or close up. Whatever you choose. I'll just work to make you the opening."

Sora took in a long, slow breath as Ikana and Enyo spoke, the Kuronmeru boy’s distaste for his teammate on full display as he berated the girl for not taking things slower. A part of her wanted to snap at the brat for speaking that way, to remind that he was no better, having made the same mistake just a few moments earlier. But there was a time and place for knocking Enyo down a peg, and the middle of a teamwork exercise was not it. Not when Ikana was actually trying to formulate a plan before they struck, even if it was only a simple one.

So the Jounin stood there, Samidare held in her right hand, blade tip hovering just a few inches from the ground, waiting. There was little else she could do in this situation, not if she wanted the two of them to actually work together; she could attack, true, but that would disrupt the chance for them to communicate. An effective tactic on the battlefield, but not nearly as effective as a teaching tool. Not at this moment, anyway.

"Whenever you’re ready." She said, tapping the hilt of her blade with her index finger as she spoke, sky-blue gaze staring at a point in between the two Genin, and seemingly distracted. But only seemingly.

"Up close," He murmured in a low voice to Ikana, turning his head and covering his mouth so that there was no chance that Sora would be able to hear what he said or read his lips. Perhaps the woman already knew what tactic Enyo would go for, but maybe with an opening from Ikana it wouldn't matter what she knew.

Enyo was not happy with this exercise, but the faster they did what was necessary the faster he would be able to get away from all of this. That was his ultimate goal, to end the exercise.

So with his message relegated to Ikana he dashed forward as quickly as he personally could approaching their sensei before attempting to pivot around her at the last minute in an arc so that he could flank her from the back. This little distraction move could potentially give Ikana a moment to weave hand seals or whatever the girl needed to do to pull off a solid opening for him to enter Sora's field and this could potentially lead to them landing an attack.

Enyo was ready to change his direction as necessary, but for now he just needed Ikana to do something and for Sora to be focusing on him.

Ikana would be the first to admit she was not quite familiar with teamwork. She'd in fact had been devoid of a team for quite a long time. She'd developed with the help of others a few times, yes, but her life was largely solitary and isolated, if not from the circumstances of her environment, then from her own making at this time. While humans were normally social creatures, she'd learned how to get comfortable to be alone, if because the fear of loss and betrayal was so much richer. She'd sheathed her blade when Enyo proclaimed he was the one who wanted to get up close to deliver the blow. If that was the case?

She'd need to support him. So, with that established, all that was needed for the boy to give the indication. Before long? Ikana found herself whipping out a small handful of Shuriken out towards Sora, slight gaps inbetween their release time as they were aimed for her closer center of body, before Ikana formulates a few handseals. Dragon. Tiger. Rabbit. her chest puffing up as she takes a deep breath. Suiton. Mizurappa! She thinks to herself, as she exhales a small jet of water, the pressurized wave looking to roll and buffet the pinkette, or if not that, give Enyo the time needed to press some form of assault, as she maximizes it's power and efficiency. Strong enough to make her feel like she was getting hit by a hose at least.

The moment Ikana and Enyo spoke, laying down a basic plan, Sora couldn’t help but smile. It wasn’t much of a strategy, just an agreement between the two Genin that Ikana would try to make an opening for Enyo to land the winning strike, but it was more than either of them had been willing to do earlier, so she’d take it as a win. A small one, but still. Progress.

With the two Genin’s plan set, the pair moved in surprising unison, Enyo charging in as quickly as the boy could, only to pivot and swing around at the last moment, hoping to draw her eyes away from the barrage of shuriken Ikana was tossing her way. The pink-haired Jounin remained firm though, splitting her attention between her students, Samidare flashing out in a rapid blur of motion as she utilized the Mirror Blade technique to deflect the brace of projectiles back at the girl. Of course, that wasn’t all the brunette did; while Sora beat back her wave of shuriken, the girl formed hand seals for a Suiton jutsu, focusing it down into a thin, potent stream that came in right on the heels of her first attack.

Ah, I see. Sora thought, chakra flickering down her blade as she brought it up in a rising diagonal, meeting Ikana’s Mizurappa with a Kiretsu-empowered slash that cut through the Suiton just with relative ease, cascading the water on both sides of her body without getting her wet. If Enyo was looking for an opening, this would be the time to strike; her blade was busy cutting through his teammate’s jutsu, her body open for attack. He would get no better chance than this.

Come on. Figure it out.

Jutsu/SA's/Equipment Used
Jutsu:
NAME: Kagami Yaiba [Mirror Blade]
RANK: C
CHAKRA USAGE: Low
CLASSIFICATION: Bukijutsu
ELEMENT: -
HANDSEALS: 0
DESCRIPTION: Despite the name of this technique, it can be used with most weapons, although it’s difficulty mastering it means it requires a skilled user of such a weapon. Thus a swordsman would not automatically be able to perform this technique with a club. A relatively straightforward technique, it is nevertheless very effective against incoming shuriken. The user guards against an incoming shuriken with his or her weapon. However, rather than simply deflecting it, the user hits the shuriken from such an angle that it is sent back towards the enemy. Skilled users of this technique can even reflect kunai towards moving opponents by calculating their movement pattern (Chuunin+), or even reflect a shuriken while adding a curve to it (Special Jounin+). One use of this technique can send back up to three shuriken for a Genin, five for a Chuunin, eight for a Special Jounin and ten for Jounin and higher.

NAME: Ittoryu: Kiretsu [One Sword Style: Crack]
RANK: A
CHAKRA USAGE: Medium - Very High
CLASSIFICATION: Bukijutsu
ELEMENT: -
HANDSEALS: 0
DESCRIPTION: A unique variant of the Saaberu no Jutsu, Kiretsu is a Jutsu based around a singular idea- to cut through even the most ethereal of Jutsu, splitting it in half and therefore keeping it away from the user. This is achieved by coating their blade in chakra, which is then honed into a razor point, capable of slicing through Jutsu such as Katon: Endan or Raiton: Gian without bringing the user to any harm.

As a rule, this Jutsu costs an amount of Chakra equal to one level higher than the Jutsu that is being cut/split (so a Jutsu that uses a Medium amount would take a High amount to split, while one that costs High would cost Very High to split), and cannot be used at range. Additionally, Jutsu designed to be explicitly defensive in nature (such as the various elemental armors) are significantly more resilient to being split, making this Jutsu ineffective at piercing their defenses.

It had been a moment but Sora did look at him, even as she split her attention though she seemed capable of diverting the assault that Ikana set upon her. First the shuriken, then the water.

Enyo did not wait, after all, this was all happening so quickly he did not have to wait. All he had to do was move in. The shuriken deflected and the water splitting in half the Kuronmeru came up from behind. He did not draw his sword as he might have in normal circumstance, instead he flicked his wrist allowing for the hidden blade that resided within to slide out of its mechanism swiftly.

He reeled his arm back like on a loaded spring and then as he got just close enough to Sora would thrust the entirety of his weight and arm forward to land a stabbing blow against Sora's shoulder. It was an opening enough he figured and if she dodged out of the way, he would get a face full of water. But it *was* an opening, which meant he had to give it his all in this small moment in time where things seemed to be working out.

Though he doubted it was by any merit of their own, Sora was a jounin after all...

Ikana was the kind of girl who could fight in a variety of methods and styles. Long range. Mid range. Close range. However, what she wasn't quite useful to was fighting alongside others. In fact, she held little empathy for most Kirigakure people. She had an understanding that the mission came first before all things. And while she was not so callous as to waste resources and lives of others? For some reason, she felt as if she had to sacrifice the lives of her comrades, or even her own? She wouldn't hesitate in the face of impossible odds. That was a reflection really of how little she cared about lives, including her own.

As her jet of water was cleanly slashed through with a powered slash, the jet of water spraying out on either end of Sora, Ikana frankly knew that her opponent was holding back. That the teamwork and efforts of their ilk could be little more than a nuisance in a field of battle proper. The gap of experience was the main contributor as opposed to lack of ability. Ikana's eyes analytically studied the movements and saw how refined and autonomous the motions seemed to be for the technique. A skill that must have been practiced a thousand times over.

However, it all soon came to Enyo. As he wrenches a hidden blade out with a shlick sound. As he lunged inward, Ikana began another set of handseals as she closed inwards, blitzing forward as her hands flashed through the motions. After all. They'd need a countermeasure in case Enyo failed.

For Sora, her two Genin’s movements were slow and incredibly obvious; she knew Enyo would attack her with his hidden blade almost before the boy flicked his wrist outwards, knew that Ikana would come in closer, weaving hand seals for a follow up in case her teammates attack didn’t work. She could see their movements in her head, could map out the exact moment where she would be able to spin, countering Enyo’s thrust while moving out of the way of whatever Ikana had planned… But she didn’t. Because this wasn’t about winning. This was about teaching her students how to work together. And to do that, they needed to believe that their goal was possible.

So the pink-haired Jouin waited half a heartbeat, Samidare lingering in place before she spun on her back foot, twisting around the Kuronmeru boy’s thrust just enough for the blade to nick her side, drawing a thin line of blood that dribbled onto the ground while she leapt away, holding her blade up in a warding gesture. There was a moment, a soft moment where she let the two Genin see her injury- where she let them understand what it was they had just done, however much she had let them. And then she spoke, voice soft but bursting with pride as she lowered her weapon, smiling.

"Now that’s more like it."
