The arrow was slowing down slightly- It'd worked. The wall was keeping her from hitting him, which was perfect, as he quickly swung around with a low dip.
But it wasn't enough. Her jutsu, which quickly broke past his barrier, ended up landing flat in the middle of his clones and himself- The explosive boom sending each one dispersing as he was rocked sideways by the blow, crashing into a few wooden barrels as he tried to level himself out.
The dust settled after a moment, and Momo could see him- Exerted, exhausted, and certainly a bit beaten up. He ran through his mind and looked down at his weapons for just a moment, trying to gather some intelligence on what sort of maneuver he could pull off here.
He could pull out his hiding in the rain technique, but she could likely do the exact same thing- It was a double edged sword, and she likely had better senses as a Chuunin then he did as a Genin- Her experience in that degree likely put her above him in level.
Which left him with a different sort of solution. Looking down at the wooden splinters on the floor, he came up with a rather devious plan. A last ditch one, at that, for if this one didn't work and she did get him again, he didn't feel like pushing himself to his breaking point for a spar, considering how long it'd take him to recover.
Still, he had a hunch. Grabbing the wooden splinters, he'd fling them with a great deal of force at Momo. Though Taro wasn't a master archer like her, he was a jack of all trades- And he was figuring that out more and more as he fought. With that in mind, his splinters would be aimed for her general body location, as he began his ascent again.
Hook to the side, he slid across the arena. He knew she might counter it, but hoped his assault of ranged weapons would slow her down. She didn't want splinters, right?!
It didn't matter. The first hook was merely a distraction. Twisting his body around, he shot one straight at Momo- Or more accurately, right over her shoulder- As he broke the last reel and let it fizzle back, instead rocketing forward on but a single hook.
She'd likely still be able to shoot. She wasn't a push over, and she could easily dodge out of some simple debris and anticipate a fake out. The only thing he had going for him was that the series of distractions would be enough to weaken her focus, so that the next arrow that came at him would be not quite as powerful.
Shoulder forward. Head tucked in. Halfway across, he'd fling out and disconnect one of his blades, sending it spinning towards Momo. He only needed one, and that should skip her up if she was mid-pull. Spiraling with the gas loaded into his gear, he aimed for a straight shot forward that, even if she hit him, he hoped would have enough forward momentum to swing his remaining blade out- Dulled, of course, just like the last one- To whack her in the shoulder.
It was a risky, all out maneuver on top of one he'd already had. But in the absence of superior skill, he'd have to do with overwhelming firepower distracting his opponent enough for him to get just a strike in.
- Throwing Woodchips at Momo - Using gear to fire a hook directly to the left side of the arena while the woodchips are in flight. Meanwhile, the primary hook is being fired directly at Momo, right above her shoulder. - If this manages to go off, Taro will fly forward, using all of the remaining gas in his gear to spin unpredictably in a spiral towards his target, detaching one of the dull blades and flinging it at Momo as a second distraction before going in for a single strike. - Hoping the momentum of this gas powered, chakra infused strike is enough to get past the sheer force of any arrows that come back at him. Feel free to do some grievous damage if she gets an arrow off though, it's a risky play.
