As the day's classes came to an end, Uka found herself in the Storm Garden of Amegakure, a rare moment when rain wasn't pouring from the skies. She seized the opportunity to be outdoors and practice a jutsu she had recently learned. An upcoming ninjutsu exam motivated her to be fully prepared both theoretically and in practical execution.

Setting her backpack aside, she extracted a worn notebook containing a detailed description of the jutsu. With ample time on her hands, she settled down and immersed herself in its contents. She read, reviewed, and occasionally closed the notebook to challenge her memory. "Excellent! I've got it down perfectly," her enthusiastic proclamation echoed through the garden. A few passersby stole glances in her direction, curious about the source of the exclamation, but Uka remained oblivious to their gazes.

"Now, it's time to put theory into action!" she declared, her voice still brimming with excitement. Her eyes scanned the surroundings for leaves, twigs, or any suitable objects. A fallen leaf from a nearby tree caught her attention, becoming her target. Uka swiftly performed the sequence of five hand seals, pouring her entire focus into the task. With grace and precision, she executed the jutsu, and in the blink of an eye, she switched places with the chosen leaf.

A mischievous grin crossed her face. "Hehe, aren't I quite skilled?" Uka indulged in a bit of self-praise, boosting her confidence for what lay ahead. However, a single successful attempt wasn't enough to entirely solidify her proficiency. Undeterred, she repeated the process—spotting her target, flowing through the intricate hand seals, executing the jutsu, and then beginning the sequence anew.

Arashi Teien, the storm garden. For most a relaxing escape, where the trees thrived while surrounded by steel, the ponds were still and beautiful unlike the ever raging lake outside the village, even the rain felt lighter here. And it was Yuju's backyard, and a huge pain in the ass for the young boy. The Tenka compound was right next to the Storm Garden and it was not on accident, the ponds were perfect to practice their jutsu, the trees reminded them if the forests of where they'd lived before moving into the village. It was like a little piece of home, and they worked as it's groundskeepers, a duty the young academy student was expected to do since he had so much free time. And for once, he was actually working instead of slacking off, raking up debris and leaves from the path of the park, keeping it clean and pristine. Of course living in the land of storms meant that it would only become dirtied once more when the winds or rain will inevitably cause a branch to break. A never ending cycle here.

And like usual in the warm months, the park was quite popular with the local populace. Most were adults, trying to get in touch with nature, unaware that his job was maintaining that balance so not too much nature seeped in. But there was one kid, a girl who he didn't really pay much attention too until she started yelling. He was pretty sure he'd seen her at the academy as well, another student. Normally he'd use this perfect moment for a prank or something fun, but if he didn't get this done now he'd be stuck doing this all day, and he'd like to be able to go out and do something today. He let out a sigh at his misfortune, he hated how the adults made kids do so much extra work. Though when he'd look up again, she'd be gone, until he heard a yell on the other side, and after turning his he'd see her. What the...How'd she end up there... It wasn't uncommon exactly, being that fast, but he'd never heard of an academy student being able to go that fast before. But he would get distracted in his wanderings, seeing a leaf land directly after gently falling seemingly out of nowhere on the path he'd just raked, and it definitely hadn't been there before. Ughhhh, I just did that! And he'd go to rake it up, unaware just how it'd gotten there, or what the girl had done nor what she was planning to do again.

Uka was utterly wrapped up in what she was doing, practicing the Kawarimi no Jutsu, an art she was eager to master. In her intense focus, she lost track of her surroundings entirely. Without warning, she found herself transformed into a simple leaf, currently getting raked up by a boy she recognized from the Academy, a place where she practically lived. The boy appeared to be about her age, with jet-black hair and deep blue eyes. His fair complexion was a common trait among the residents of Amegakure, thanks to the constant rain and cloud cover.

As her Jutsu conjured an unexpected gust of wind, the carefully raked leaves scattered in all directions. Uka couldn't help but blurt out, "Oops! My bad!" She quickly clasped her small hands together and offered an apologetic, slightly embarrassed bow. "I should pitch in and help you clean this mess up. Do you happen to have an extra rake?" Her determination shone through in her voice.

With a friendly and energetic demeanor, she flashed a bright grin and introduced herself. "I'm Yugao Uka, by the way. It's great to meet you! You're from the Academy too, right?" She relied on her good memory but wanted to be sure she hadn't mistaken the boy for someone else.

The shock on his face was obvious when it happened, the timing of it all comical. It was like a slow motion play, a comedy gag played for laughs, the boy going to rake up the leaf in front of him and that leaf to suddenly be replaced with a person, the high speed girl from before. Now her ability to go so fast was revealed, and the boy found himself staring down wide eyed, blinking from the unexpectedness as he hit the girl in the head with a rake. Silence, leaves blowing all around him from her jutsu, the young boy needing a moment to absorb everything that'd just happened. And then it all hit at once, and one could almost see the young boys soul leave his body, leaves now scattered across the trail once more, his day doomed to staying here. Eh?... A weak question of surprise all that could escape his lips when he first struck her in the head with the rake, but when it all sunk in he couldn't hold back another one. EHHHH?? All his hard work, literally lost in the wind. Then the girl did something he wasn't expecting, she yelled how it was her fault and offered to help.

Huh? Now that he had a closer look at the girl he was certain he'd seen her at the academy before like he'd initially thought, and she looked rather standard for someone from the Land of Storms with one notable exception, her heart shaped pupils which he found himself staring at for a bit longer than was probably socially acceptable before adjusting his cap a bit as he broke eye contact, looking at her clasped hands and giving a shrug. He honestly wasn't sure why she was offering to help after he hit her in the head with a rake, but it was probably better not to question before the girl came to her senses. Yeah...Sure follow me. And the boy would walk back through the park, leading the girl to the clan compound by the park. Yeah, I thought I recognized you in the park from the academy. I'm Yuju, and that over there is my clans compound. We're the parks groundskeepers, though I guess that's kinda obvious... He'd lead her to a shed by the beginning of the park right before they started entering the compound, opening up to reveal the tools used to make the park nice behind the scenes, and he took out another rake.

You were practicing one of the academy techniques right? I haven't learned that one yet. The boy stated before he handed off the rake.

Uka couldn't help but chuckle as Yuju's shocked expression slowly morphed into a mix of surprise and disbelief. She knew the situation was pretty unusual, and she certainly didn't blame him for his initial reaction. As he blinked at her, seemingly trying to process what had just occurred, Uka couldn't help but grin sheepishly, rubbing her head where the rake had made contact. She followed Yuju as he led her toward the clan compound, nodding as he mentioned recognizing her from the academy.

As Yuju led her closer to the shed and handed her a rake, "Your clan does an excellent job with the park. It's always so neat and beautiful. I'm sure you work really hard to keep it that way." Uka complimented him, genuinely impressed by his commitment as she gladly accepted it with a grateful nod and a warm smile.

"Thanks, Yuju! And yes, I was practicing the Kawarimi no Jutsu," she replied as she gripped the rake's handle. "It's a handy technique to learn, especially for stealth missions or just getting out of tricky situations. I've been working hard on it, but it looks like I still need more practice!" Uka admitted with a sheepish grin.

Once they were back at the scattered leaves, she began raking up the leaves, her movements precise and efficient. Uka was determined to make up for her unexpected interruption and help Yuju get the park back in order. As they worked side by side, she continued the conversation.

"I don't think we've had a chance to chat much before today. It's great to meet someone else from the Academy, even if it started with a rather leafy introduction," she chuckled, making a small pun about her unexpected transformation. "Do you want me to help you learn the jutsu?"

Uka's energy and enthusiasm remained undiminished despite the mishap, and she was eager to get to know her new acquaintance better while they worked or trained together, as fate, destiny, or whatever had brought them together.

The cap wearing boy smiled at the praise heaped on him, her pointing out the meticulousness of the park, truely touched by her attention. I do, yeah! And it was all a lie, the boy slacked off more than not, and that was when he couldn't worm his way out of work entirely. In truth she'd found him on one of the rare days he was truely doing his duties as a Tenka, and only because he wanted to go spend the rest of the day out and about. This didn't stop him from fully taking credit for others work, nor giving his own opinions. Since the adults always force kids to do their work for them, I'm always doing everything around here. The young boy hated the tyranny of adults, even if in the end those same adults ended up doing more work for the park in the end.

But while Yuju might be a trickster, he wasn't getting that vibe from the girl so far. She'd seemed almost embarrassed when she ended up at the end of his rake, and did so once again as she went into further detail about her practices of the Kawarimi no Jutsu. Yuju liked that, people who flustered easy were fun, so he decided to press a few buttons and see if he could get this reaction from the girl. You're so formal~ Using my name even in casual conversation, is it that hard to remember? The boy gave a trickster grin at this, before continuing. And I've never heard of a stealth mission thwarted by a rake before. Even he couldn't contain the giggle at his own joke here, and seemed content to see what the girl did until they reached their destination.

And it was here she made an offer, helping him learn it. An enticing offer since he did still need to learn that very jutsu. Not afraid I'll have to do something like fish you out the pond next? But the boy did shrug in the end, smiling all the way. But sure~ Why not~ Better than doing more chores after cleaning up anyways. And that might've been the most truthful thing the boy said so far.

"Sure thing~" Uka replied with a big, bright smile, hearing the type of answer that she gave her parents when she clearly wasn't stating the truth, or well at least not fully. "No worries, I'll just call you "Rake Boy" from now on!" She continued to rake the leaves with unbridled enthusiasm, her energy practically radiating. As she listened to his playful banter about rakes and ninja missions, she giggled, her laughter bubbling up like a fountain. "You're right! Rakes can be pretty versatile tools when you're a ninja. Who would've thought, right?"

"Haha, of course not.. probably?" she wanted to say for sure that something like her switching places with a fish wouldn't happen, but knowing herself it would have been a lie. Uka was practically bouncing with excitement at the thought of teaching Yuju the Kawarimi no Jutsu. "I can't wait to show you the ropes! We're going to have so much fun practicing together!" Her eyes sparkled with anticipation as she spoke.

And in no time the two of them had finished the task. "Good job, Rake boy," she teased Yuju, as her eyes looked for a spot where they could practice the jutsu. "Let's go over there!" she pointed at a spot not far from where they were, explaining the basics of the jutsu while they moved closer to the spot, so Yuju could try it immediately, not forgetting to grab their rakes for the moment being.

"The Kawarimi no Jutsu, or the Body Replacement Technique, is a ninja technique we use to quickly switch places with another object to avoid getting hit or caught," Uka explained, her eyes shining with excitement. She paused for a moment, thinking about the best way to describe it. "So, here's how it works: first, you need to have an object somewhere nearby that is in your line of sight. It could be a log, a rock, or even a pile of leaves, like the ones we just raked up."

Uka demonstrated by dropping her rake and grabbing a nearby branch that was lying on the way roughly the size they were looking for. "Then, when an enemy attacks or tries to grab you, you use your chakra to make a super quick switch with that object." She grinned at Yuju, hoping to make it all clear. "The key is to be really fast and precise with your chakra control. That's what makes it work. It's a handy jutsu for sneaking away or surprising your opponents. And with practice, you can get really good at it! Why don't you try it?"

If the young boy knew that she knew that he was lying, it wasn't showing on his face. In fact, he seemed more than happy to use her agreement as an excuse to go on an even bigger tirade based on his own lies, reality and falsehood blending together as his own personal feelings on things got lost in the mix of exaggerations of his own creation. Exactly!! See you get it! Adults expect us to do all the work they're too lazy to do! They act like we have nothing better to do, as if we don't live busy lives here! The increasingly loud boy didn't bring up the fact that he'd spent the majority of yesterday lying down and napping in the soft grass in the warm sun, while light rain sprinkled down and kept him cool. They treat us like slave labor, while pretending the academy isn't hard work!

He'd stop his rant, only because they'd arrive at their destination, the now rake wielding boy clearly enjoying hearing himself talk if nothing else. And unusually, or at least unusual for Yuju, the girl went along with it in good spirits, not calling him any of the usual names the boy would here when allowed to go on like this. And he also showed his own good humor, letting out a sputtered laugh at the nickname rake boy. Why am I rake boy? You're the one who got hit with one! He giggled more at the silliness of how this day was panning out, and as the long haired girl started saying how a rake might make a good weapon in response to his jest, the boy in turn started to twirl his, as if it were a staff and they weren't doing chores. And he was actually not half bad at it, the boy having a knack for weapons if their weapon training was anything to go by! He'd point the tip end at the girl when he was done spinning it, as if challenging her to a duel. But his challenge would have to be for another day, as there was still work to be done, and he'd lower the rake to continue working.

Things did calm down near the end though, giving a wide, cheeky grin at her almost but not quite confident answer, quite clearly enjoying the fact one of his questions hit the mark on getting her to stumble in her self assurance. But it was still good natured fun, and he followed her as they finished up and began to start school training. For Uka, it looked like this was the best part of her day, but Yuju would be a bit more restrained. He was still quite clearly enjoying himself, but as of right now was treating this more as an excuse to get out of work than learning for the sake of learning. For now, at least. Aye aye, leaf-chan~ The young boy wasn't gomma let her be the only one play the nickname game, and grinned as he followed her directions. He wasn't quite expecting the lesson overview though, an eyebrow arching as he smiled amusedly when they got to their destination. He hadn't been expecting her to be such a thorough person.

You're starting to sound like one the sensei's at the academy now, leaf-chan~ When the girl looked at him, trying to see if he was following, he couldn't help but to tease her a bit. But in truth, it was a good refresher, and she made it quite easy understand. And he smiled at the words Chakra control. No worries there~ Everyone in my clan is good at controlling chakra~ So I should be a natural! The benefit of being in a genjutsu specialist clan. And so he'd give it a go as she encouraged, and he'd have the quickness required for the jutsu handled with ease. However, his preciseness needed work, as while the boy successfully pulled off the jutsu instead of the twigs they set up, the boy would be replaced with smoke, broken by an audible croak and a splash. The boy had managed to switch places with a frog in the pond in his peripheral vision, that had caught his attention at the last second.

Uka nodded as she listened to Yuju's rant, adding her own experience with her own family, as they often had her help with chores, even though Uka was always busy with more important things, like playing outside with her friends.

Uka couldn't help but burst into laughter when she saw Yuju's attempt at the Kawarimi no Jutsu. The unexpected croak and splash from the pond startled her for a moment, but the amusement quickly overtook any surprise. She clapped her hands together, still giggling. "Haha, well, that was quite the surprise, Yuju! You really went for it!" Uka exclaimed with a playful grin. "I guess you're not just 'Rake Boy' anymore; you're also 'Frog Boy' now!"

She walked over to the pond's edge and crouched down, extending her hand to help Yuju out of the water if he needed it. "Don't worry, that was a great first attempt. Uka nodded enthusiastically and took a step back from the pond. She cleared her throat before demonstrating the Kawarimi no Jutsu once more for Yuju's benefit. She focused her chakra, her crimson eyes narrowing with concentration as she scanned the area for a suitable replacement object. This time, she found a sturdy-looking log nearby, a perfect choice.

With a swift movement, she dropped her rake and made a series of quick hand seals: a ram, followed by a boar, ox, dog, and then a snake. Her chakra surged, and in the blink of an eye, she disappeared, leaving behind a puff of smoke. In her place, the log she had chosen now occupied the spot where she had stood just moments ago.

She reappeared a few feet away from the log, grinning at Yuju. "See, it's all about chakra control and focusing on your target. The hand seals help channel your chakra, but it's your intent that really matters. You have to believe that you're switching places with that object."

Uka then moved closer to Yuju, placing a hand on his shoulder in a supportive gesture. "Now, it's your turn, 'Frog Boy.' Remember, pick an object you can see clearly, focus your chakra, and believe you're switching places with it. Go ahead, give it another shot. You've got this!" She encouraged him, her eyes sparkling with determination and excitement as she waited for him to try the jutsu once more.

The pond in the village was actually surprisingly deep in areas, at least in the center where you couldn't really see the bottom even in it's crystal clear waters. But thankfully, the small boy would find himself by the edge of the pond, where he wouldn't actually be in any real danger. But he was deep enough to get his clothes soaking wet, the mirror like surface of the water discolored by mud stirred up by his abrupt arrival, mud that got on his clothes as well. His head had also ended up underwater for a brief moment his cap now floating on the waters surface, and the lilly-pad the frog he substituted with had been using as a resting place having replaced it. As for the boy himself, he was disoriented, this not quite having been how he'd planned this. And that sentiment showed on his face when the girl started laughing at the attempt gone wrong, not quite laughing in as he had before with everything, though he did at least give a small smile showing he wasn't taking offense to it. He'd definitely be doing the same thing in her shoes.

He'd also accept the help offered to him, making sure to grab his now soaking wet cap before rejoining the girl on land. Y-Yeah, I guess they are... He was rather unconvinced on just how well his attempt went, especially since the young girl felt the need to give another breakdown on how the technique worked. Still, he wasn't about to give up just yet, and once again watched the girl perform the jutsu. Though he was at least starting to feel a bit more confident again, it wasn't like he hadn't managed to do the jutsu, it's just...gone awry. So all he had to do was focus like she said, right?

And so that's exactly what he did, focusing on the log in front of him intensely, not allowing himself to get distracted like before. And once again there'd be a puff of smoke, and...silence. No frog, no cricket that might've got in the way, instead where the boy had been standing would be a very quiet log, and the still soaking wet boy would find himself standing by the girl. HA! I DID IT! Not that that's surprising, I told you I'm good at Chakra control, eh leaf-chan?~ One success and the boy was riding high off it, confident once more, though it was good natured at least. He wasn't even bugged by the frog nickname now!

Uka's face lit up with a delighted smile as she witnessed Yuju's successful execution of the Kawarimi no Jutsu on his second attempt. She couldn't contain her excitement and applauded him warmly. "Bravo, Yuju! That was absolutely fantastic!"

"Clearly, chakra control is your forte, and you've demonstrated that brilliantly," she remarked playfully, affectionately tousling his damp hair, unconcerned about the mud and water that clung to it. "Now, you're not just 'Frog Boy,' but 'Log Boy' too!" She chuckled at her own joke and took a step back, giving Yuju an encouraging nod. "With your knack for this, you can keep practicing and perfecting the jutsu. It's a valuable skill to have."

After retrieving his cap from the water and handing it back to him, Uka patted his back in a friendly manner and straightened up, her grin unwavering. "So, what's next, Log-boy? Would you like to try another jutsu, or do you have something else in mind? I'm open to any ideas."

She paused for a moment, considering their options. "Or perhaps it's time to call it a day. You could use some time to get dry." Uka suggested, thinking about Yuju's comfort. Regardless of their decision, whether spending more time together or heading home, Uka was ready to enjoy the rest of her day.

The boy smiled at the praise being bestowed upon him, it was very clear that he was enjoying hearing about his own greatness. He didn't even mind her playing with his hair, though it turned his already long hair into an outright mess, and it made him realize he was missing his hat finally. Oh! My hat! Thankfully the exuberant girl was on top of that as well, as she retrieved it and gave it to him, dubbing him a new nickname as she did. Now you're starting to sound like sensei, with all the talk of practice and stuff. He smiled at her again as he put on and adjusted his cap, teasing her about her more mature finish to the praise, about making sure to truely get a handle on the technique. Though I don't think it's fair, you're still just Leaf-Chan while I've had three names by now. Log Boy smirked at his teasing again. We're gonna have to come up with something really cool next time for both of us, something with some POW to it.

But with their goal accomplished, and as the air and cheer died down around them, things turned quiet. Peaceful, the frogs chirping calmly in the pond. The wind blowing quietly. And the question came up. What do they do now? And at first, Yuju wasn't sure. Should they really just call it a day. Then an idea struck. Wait here! And he'd rush back to the groundskeeping shed, running fast as he threw open the doors and grabbed the two rakes they'd used to clean up the park. And he'd rush back, throwing one of the rakes at her feet, before spinning the one he still held in his hand just like before before pointing it at her. An official challenge. Well? Rake-Chan? And with chores done, lessons learned, and a gauntlet thrown, Yuju would spend the day having fun with an alike mind.
