Shouki Clan Poisons

The Shouki Clan are living poison weapons, able to draw out a variety of toxins from their body with their chakra. This poison is typically expelled from their sweat glands in the form of a deep purple sludge, which they can use to poison their own weapons, or those of allies. In addition, Shouki Clan ninja may apply their poisons to clan Ninjutsu or Fuuinjutsu by paying an extra cost according to the poison selected.

NAME: Chi no Doku [Blood Poison]

RANK: C [0]

DETECTION: [-2] Immediately NoticeableDOSAGE: [+2] Minor Dosage
EFFECTS: [+2] Major DetrimentONSET: [+1] 3~5 Turn Onset
USE: [+1] Blood BorneTREATMENT: [-2] Light Rest
RARITY: [+0] 14 DosesDECAY: [-2] 3 Turn Decay

CHAKRA COST: Very Low

DESCRIPTION:
Chi no Doku is a poison found in the biofluids of all Shouki clan shinobi who have survived the Dokuyoke ritual. While it is called a "blood” poison, it is present in their saliva and sweat as well. A single well-laid cut from an envenomed blade is enough for the Chi no Doku to take effect. Immediately, it's victims will experience a spreading numbness from the site of the wound. This feeling will persist for five rotations as the poison takes effect, reduced to three if the afflicted individual exerts themselves. At full duration exposure, an affected limb becomes paralyzed – arms can at most be flailed around, while legs are unable to bear one's weight. If an individual's head or torso is affected, the poison will cause difficulty breathing alongside a more general crippling numbness, draining one's strength and agility significantly. While Chi no Doku can be successfully cured by skilled medical intervention, a short rest will also allow one's body to fight off the poison in its entirety.

In order to maintain an effective concentration of poison in their bloodstream, a Shouki clan shinobi may only extract two doses of poison per day. In addition, Chi no Doku spoils over the course of two weeks, meaning at any given time a clan member may carry up to 14 doses. If they were to run out of doses, they may still apply the poison, but they must drain their own blood or chakra to do so. Antidotes to the Chi no Doku are fairly common, as anti-paralytic medicines effective against more dangerous poisons will also neutralize it.

NAME: Shouki no Kiri [Miasma Fog]

RANK: C [0]

DETECTION: [-2] Immediately NoticeableDOSAGE: [+2] Minor Dosage
EFFECTS: [+1] Moderate DetrimentONSET: [+3] 2 Turn Onset
USE:[+2] InhaledTREATMENT: [-4] 2 Turn Recovery
RARITY: [+0] 3 DosesDECAY: [-2] 2 Turn Decay

CHAKRA COST: Very Low

DESCRIPTION:
Through application of chakra to their sweat or saliva, a Shouki clan shinobi can create a poisonous cloud of deep purple gas. Shouki no Kiri is used by channeling it through a learned clan ninjutsu, or breaking the seal of a scroll of poison. The Shouki clan provides up to three such scrolls for use per mission, which release a 5m cloud of gas, dispersing over the course of two rotations.

A victim unfortunate enough to take a breath of gas becomes exposed quickly – after two rotations they are afflicted with a severe fit of coughing. Speaking phrases longer than a few words becomes prohibitively difficult, as they are unable to take deep, steady breaths. Defending themselves in a fight becomes more challenging as well, as every few seconds a sharp cough could cause them to lose their form. Perhaps the most troubling effect of Shouki no Kiri is that it's victims are unable to hold their breath, and are vulnerable to repeated applications of the poison. Mercifully, recovery is fast – after two continuous rotations of fresh air, the coughing fit subsides entirely, regardless of how much gas is inhaled. If a victim only gains one rotation of fresh air before breathing in more poison, however, they remain afflicted.

Preventative antidotes to the Shouki no Kiri poison are not impossible to create, but are largely less effective than simple gas masks.

NAME: Togo Doku [Integrated Poison]

RANK: A [+2]

DETECTION: [-2] Immediately NoticeableDOSAGE: [-1] Moderate Dosage
EFFECTS: [+4] FatalONSET: [-1] 5~9 Turn Onset
USE:[+1] Blood-Borne ([+2] Inhaled)TREATMENT: [+2] Professional Treatment
RARITY: [+0] Chuunin Rank
DECAY: [-1] 3 Turns ([-2] 2 Turns)

CHAKRA COST: Low

DESCRIPTION:
The Togo Doku is the Shouki Clan's signature poison, used by its operation squads to terrific effect during the Shinobi Wars. Shouki Chuunin can utilize the Togo Doku in its liquid or gaseous form, provided they channel an appropriate jutsu. Unlike their other poisons, the Togo Doku has been developed as a uniform technique, meaning any Shouki Clan shinobi may contribute towards bringing a target to full exposure.

Full exposure requires the target to suffer several cuts or breaths of poison gas – successful wounds will cause a slowly spreading mild numbness, just like the Chi no Doku. The numbness will intensify over time until, after 9 rotations at most, the victim falls unconscious. Strenuous exertion and extra applications of poison reduce the time it takes for the poison to spread to 5 rotations at minimum. A victim afflicted by Togo Doku may wake after some hours, but they require skilled medical treatment to do more than stumble about.

Because the Togo Doku was so widely used in battle during the civil war, many researched it, attempting to synthesize an antidote. Few succeeded, making them vanishingly rare. The Shouki Clan maintains that no-one should have access to an antidote, and they occasionally attack and rob minor clans discovered to be in possession of them. Such conflicts are a sore spot for the Shouki Clan's relations.

NAME: Tenchi no Doku [Heavenly Blood Poison]

RANK: S [+3]

DETECTION: [-2] Immediately NoticeableDOSAGE: [+2] Minor Dosage
EFFECTS: [+4] FatalONSET: [+1] 3~5 Turn Onset
USE:[+1] Blood-BorneTREATMENT: [+2] Professional Treatment
RARITY: [-2] Jounin Rank
DECAY: [-3] 1 Turn Decay

CHAKRA COST: Medium

DESCRIPTION:
The Tenchi no Doku is the Shouki Clan's deadliest poison, available to experts of Jounin rank. It is an extremely volatile poison – when charged with chakra, it will retain its effectiveness for only a few seconds before it degrades into ordinary Chi no Doku. If its user lands a cut within its short timeframe, however, their victim is doomed. The effects of the Tenchi no Doku follow a similar pattern to the more basic poison. First, the afflicted area is plagued by a spreading numbness – within as few as 3 rotations, the poison bites and paralyzes the victim, starting with the parts of the body closest to the wound. At 5 rotations, the victim becomes totally paralyzed, and falls into a coma. If they do not receive careful treatment within the next few hours, death is likely.

Not even the Shouki Clan maintains complete antidotes to the Tenchi no Doku, carefully guarding it's most deadly weapon. That does not mean it is incurable – many medicines are able to save its victims from death. It does mean, however, that there are no prophylactic measures one can take to protect themselves until the poison begins to spread.

NAME: Ten no Shouki [Heavenly Miasma]

RANK: S [+3]

DETECTION: [-2] Immediately NoticeableDOSAGE: [-1] Moderate Dosage
EFFECTS: [+2] Major DetrimentONSET: [+1] 3~5 Turn Onset
USE:[+5] Skin ExposureTREATMENT: [+2] Professional Treatment
RARITY: [-2] Jounin Rank
DECAY: [-2] 2 Turn Decay

CHAKRA COST: Medium

DESCRIPTION:
While not its deadliest poison, the Ten no Shouki is perhaps the clan's most unpleasant. The clouds of purple gas created with this technique are volatile, dissipating with a distinctive fizz, like the sound rain makes when falling into a campfire. Merely touching the fog is rumored to drain one's very life force. Those fully afflicted become sluggish and lethargic, their reflexes and even their wit slowed to a crawl. Fortunately, complete exposure to the Ten no Shouki requires seven full rotations – two submerged within the gas, and a further five to take effect. The gas itself causes peculiar sensations upon skin contact, a mix of icy burn, pins and needles. After several instances of exposure to the gas, fatigue begins to build within the victim. At three rotations, this fatigue becomes debilitating, and the symptoms of the poison only get worse over time, reaching a peak at five rotations, wherein the victim can scarcely fight a heated battle at all.

Like their other high rank poisons, the Shouki Clan do not produce preventative antidotes for the Ten no Shouki. With some time, however, a reasonably skilled medic can cure it's effects. Failing that, a victim will remain bedridden for a week or more before they are able to regain their previous vigor.

I was asked to take on the first review due to having the most familiarity with the poison ranking guide. Now at the outset, I will say that the guide was not originally intended to be used for jutsu, but I personally don't see why it could not be at least in part. The major limitation is that some categories could get a little weird. For example rarity of ingredients simply won't work as they were originally intended since the poison(s) come from the clan member's body.

I see that you've tried to shift rarity into requiring a certain rank to acquire the jutsu which doesn't really work as a viable replacement since the intention of the rarity of ingredients is to require so many threads between usages unless you go to get more in a mission. Doing it by rank just means the higher rank shinobi can get away with having more powerful poisons with the only downside being the low rank shinobi who typically never have a S rank technique anyways couldn't even buy it should they save up the thousand xp or whatever it is to get it. So for the purposes of adapting the poison guide to jutsu, I don't think it really works as it just becomes a restriction that's not really a restriction. Additionally if we did it by rank you'd be removing the amount of doses you can get from a poison which in turn acts to limit how many times it can be used, especially when it comes to personalized poisons since all these techs are poison clouds that's extremely draining on the dose amount you get from ingredients.

So, I have two potential ways we can go about fixing this. The easiest way would be to change it so that the rarity of ingredients essentially would mean the clan member would have to consume that ingredient to introduce that toxin/poison to their body and replenish it as they would normally need to if it were an applied poison. Of course you need to account for the clan member's basic/constant poison they have in them which would mean working around needing to have an abundant plant that would allow them to at least constantly have that basic version.

Option two would be me possibly expanding on the poison guide to have a small section with chakra costs allowing for ranks to go up or down depending on how much chakra is used. Obviously I'd need to consider the increase/decreases a bit, but for the moment we can consider medium being the base Very High lowering the rank by say two and Very Low raising it by two or something. Probably we'd have to make the ingredients an equipment only category while the chakra cost would be a jutsu only category. That way you can't dip into both to try and push the effects to ridiculously lethal levels.
