They also choose whether the seal will be released manually, with a handsign woven within 25m of the seal, or automatically, from another individual's chakra signature passing within 5m. Upon activation, the seal releases a poisonous gas cloud within a 5m area, enveloping and poisoning the target caught within. NAME: Doku Kekkai [Poison Barrier] RANK: B CHAKRA USAGE: Low~Very High CLASSIFICATION: Fuuinjutsu ELEMENT: N/a HANDSEALS: 0 REQUIREMENT: Shouki Clan DESCRIPTION: The user inscribes a number of seals on physical objects within an area, choosing any clan poison, and paying an additional cost according to their choice. Upon activation, these seals connect to each other, creating a visible screen with a purple hue. Living things passing completely through this screen are instantly envenomed the poison contained within. Attempting to cross the barrier causes an icy tingling sensation, alerting unaware individuals of its hostile effects. The barrier is stationary, and if any of the seals are disturbed or destroyed, the barrier will fail, although the creator of the barrier may re-create it using the seals that remain, so long as they re-pay the required chakra costs. These costs are dependent on the size and shape of the barrier created – small and single-plane barriers cost less than larger barriers with multiple sides. NAME: Doku Jakuten Noroi [Poison Weakness Curse] RANK: A CHAKRA USAGE: High CLASSIFICATION: Fuuinjutsu ELEMENT: N/a HANDSEALS: 12 REQUIREMENT: Shouki Clan DESCRIPTION: As the user completes the necessary handsigns, sealing lines spread along their arms. When completed, the seal may be released against a living target with the aid of a final handsign, homing in on them at twice the speed of a thrown kunai. The seal is near inescapable, and tracks its target within a 30m range, avoiding obstacles in its pursuit, though it may be blocked by the intervention of a wall, shadow clone, or other living being. The seal does not have to be released immediately, but failing to do so within five rotations causes the technique to be wasted, and the seal to disappear. When the cursed seal attaches to its target, they become more vulnerable to poison – the amount of poison needed to affect them is reduced by one level, and the speed at which it spreads after the first rotation doubles. For example, a poison which requires moderate exposure and nine rotations to spread would instead require only minor exposure, and would take effect in five rotations. The cursed seal does not fade away naturally, and must be removed by an appropriate technique, such as Fuuja Houin or Gogyou Kaiin.
