[Miyamoto Ikana]

Ikana was one of those people that tutored academy students or aspiring candidates for the academy; even when she was a Genin. It helped for those kids with wealthy parents that wanted them to become ninja, or kids who's parents were away and didn't have time to train them. Less so for clan kids, but even then, she'd roped in a few hopeful prospects. So, as Ikana tended to run her shop, selling explosive tags, storage seals, or other ninja apparel, it was a good way to earn some extra hustle. Now that Ikana herself was a Chuunin, her training held more merit. She'd reached the middle ground, and could be considered a respectable ninja for the village. Along the front of the store, she'd put up a small sign, transparent and easy to read.

Honestly. Ikana hadn't gotten a ton of pupils this way, but it was always interesting to see who was willing to pop up. She'd accomplished her original "life's goal" in a way. Worked hard to reach the middle of the road ranking. Though, as she lean her head back and looked up at the ceiling, she felt largely unfulfilled. When entering, one could see several weapons racks or display cases adorned with weapons of various sorts. Blades. Spears. Clubs. Shuriken. Kunai. All of the essentials. A somewhat old looking building but a fresh sheen of clean white paint. A dark oakwood countertop. A short brunette sitting along the front. Business could be thriving or slow, but today was one of those slow days where nothing much was going on. Would it kill anyone for a little bit of excitement?

Training

He had seen the sign while walking across the village many times and each time it intrigued him, to say the least. Personal tutoring without him relying fully on the Ama clan and their teachings and he wouldn't have to fully act the part he was given? Only for a modest fee too? It seemed like a win-win situation for Tsubasa, but at the same time, he was unsure about it. What if he got in trouble for going out of his way to learn from someone outside of the clan? Would this cause trouble for his parents and brother?

Curiosity would get the better of him though as he found himself entering the shop. His world was now in awe looking at the wares all around him. Vast weapons to choose from each something unique to how they worked. They weren't allowed weapons in the academy unless they were rubber or wooden so seeing so much steel and metal around him was so cool to his young mind. He found himself practically ogling everything in the store not realizing he was walking straight to the counter only to walk right into it. The corner of which made him burst out a slight gasp of air as he did so. "Sorry," Tsubasa would say seeing the person behind the counter.

[Miyamoto Ikana]

The boy that walked into her "Shinobi Convenience Store" was shorter than she was. By quite the considerable margin, perhaps not having yet reached his growth spurt. Her amber eyes scanned him over, and she slowly steps a little bit closer. "No, not a problem. Welcome to Shinobi no Konbini. A place for all of your Shinobi needs. We've got everything from rations to ninja tools of different varieties." Gazing him over, she wasn't entirely sure? He looked maybe to be about her age? Maybe he was a genin looking to purchase something nice for a little sibling.

"What is it you might be looking for?" Ikana herself was young. Only fourteen, but her child like sense of wonder and joy in the world was effectively dead. It had died in her a long time ago, and the business oriented entrepreneur with a somewhat cynical and tired mindset of hers was all that remained. She was good at keeping up masks and appearances, with slips between the cracks. However, she was still trying to figure her life out for the most part. She closed her eyes and gave a smile to the fellow before her. A new customer as far as she could tell. Definitely not a regular at the very least. Best put on that charm. Try to score a return customer and a lifelong bond. Yeah?

Training

The girl at the counter looked around his age, maybe even a bit older he wasn't entirely sure, though she had to be older due to the fact she was working for a shop. Weren't there types of laws about working at a shop unless it was family owned so was this a family establishment? Well whatever it was it certainly looked like it was plenty stocked for anything a shinobi needed, but that wasn't why he was here. Though the idea of getting his hands on some tools did sound cool to Tsubasa not that the academy would allow him to.

He was almost completely distracted by his surroundings and her question about what he was looking for almost blew over his mind. When it was finally processed in his brain he exclaimed, "Oh! I saw the sign for tutoring. Is this where I ask about it?" Tsubasa would look at the girl with a question on his face wondering who the tutor would be. To him, she didn't look like the tutoring type she looked like an academy student just like him so maybe there was someone in the back and she was simply manning the desk. Yeah, that made sense to Tsubasa.

"Yes. It is." She said, before slowly leaning over, resting her chin along her hand. "And what is it that you'd like to learn?" She looked him head to toe. He looked fairly decently built. Didn't strike her to be some merchant's brat that wanted to play ninja or something spending daddy's money. Didn't strike her to be the kind of person who was clueless on what they were getting into either. A genin her age maybe or someone on the verge of graduating the academy she presumed. "I'm the teacher." Pulling her head back, she lazily rolled a bit of hair along her index finger. Her eyes sharply gazing out across the store. They seemed lazy in their soft honeysuckle shine. 

"What's your name?" She says with a very neutral and somewhat dull tone. "Today's been a very dull and boring day. My name is Kyobona Ikana. Owner of this store. And you're in luck. I'll offer you a free lesson on whatever it is you're looking for. And if you think the training I have to offer is worthwhile, we can discuss that later." She waved her hand dismissively. She made it see like she was doing him a favor maybe, or just giving out a free sample. Though usually, that was just the hook. They saw what she was capable of doing. The kids would get awed and want to learn more from her. Then they made her offers. Hook. Line. Sinker.

The exception being Mayonaka Homare. Mainly because she just that day felt particularly extortionate maybe. She wasn't too sure.

Training

What was it he did want to learn? Honestly, Tsubasa never gave much thought to what his wants were. He just always followed the clan's thoughts and guides on how to be a great Ama. yet was that what he wanted? He certainly didn't exactly look as elegant as other male clan members nor in his mind did he have the same attachment to beauty as they did, but it brought up to question of what he wanted. "I...don't know," Tsubasa would answer looking down a bit confused at the question and his answer. How was one supposed to decide on something on their own when they had been directed their whole lives to a certain goal?

To make things even more confusing for the youth the girl claimed to be the teacher to which he gasped aloud, "How?" not realizing that could be seen as rude, but from his standpoint, she didn't look much older than him so surely she wasn't that skilled enough to be a teacher. Then to make things even more shocking, this made Tsubasa step back, she even said she owned the shop! "I don't believe you!" he had to snap back to her there was just no way a child like her could be a teacher much less a shop owner! There were permits and licenses needed to own a shop so how did she even get those? "Prove it!" Tsubasa had to add after recollecting himself from the shock of the words she gave him.

Disbelief. Shock? "...I could show you the registration I suppose." She said with a bit of a sweatdrop. "Or, you can learn something worthwhile from me." Ikana shrugged her shoulders. "I'm one of the most skilled at Suiton in the village." She proclaims rather confidently with no doubt in her tone. Maybe that might interest him. Taking the liberty to shift about, she'd point her thumb towards herself. "I'm a Chunin." It might have been a wild thought to digest the idea that this girl his age was already pretty high up in the career. At least, relatively. However, she didn't think it was extraordinary.

Instead, she thought about her lost potential and how she could have been so much greater. Could have advanced to new heights if she'd never held herself back, never fell into her depressive slumps maybe. Kicking her legs back and forth along her seat. Assuming he still needed the evidence though, she'd take the liberty to raise a finger, leaving for a moment, to return only a few minutes later. Dressed with her hidden mist headband, as well as the standard flak jacket made from the Waruichi silk. Though she was small, short, and generally child looking, there she was. She'd also show a copy of her ownership and business license of this establishment. Signed and approved by the Mizukage Kaguya Minako herself.
