Combat was never within Chie's specialties, but she had been learning and adapting. She used what she could of her medical ninjutsu to some effectiveness. Still, she needed work, but at the very least she had a foundation. Chie was getting tired of being on the sidelines and being regulated to being the simple support of her missions. She wanted to make a difference especially if she couldn't do it for her father in the ring. The blond needed to make a name for herself somehow and if it meant learning how to fight with better proficiency she would do it.[break][break]

So in the Okada training facilities, she would be practicing with some of the dummies with her lightning scalpel. It wasn't normally used in combat very often due to how precise one had to be to effectively use it, but she had it in her arsenal. She also had her water scalpel, but that wasn't her focus at the time. Slashing away at the dummy sending electrical discharges throughout its fake body it would switch violently between each hit. "My aim isn't getting better," Chie would comment to herself with each swing, noticing she wasn't hitting the chakra or pressure points that could damage the nerves most.

Sakuraba was far from capable of molding Lightning Release chakra at his own whim yet… but he’d been making progress getting more and more attuned with the Lightning element ever since mastering the Lightning Encampment Wall. Once he’d become satisfied with his advancement in Lightning Release Nin- or Taijutsu, what on earth… yeah, right, the Chūnin Exams. He’d have to take those at one point – a knot in his chest beckoned him to train harder and simply await his time to shine.

But the Tantetsu siblings had been busy lately, so… back at the training facilities, he went. And after the whistling these blokes threw at Mitsu, Sakuraba had half a mind to kick each and every one of them in the nuts, but his girlfriend left quite an impression on them all by herself, and he could tell by the peace he received upon entering and walking through the buzz and commotion on his way to the training dummies.

He took a seat nearby and opened a scroll containing some frequently-used Lightning Release Jutsus among Iwa-nin, one of which happened to be the Lightning Encampment Wall that he’d already mastered. There were also a Jutsu that could cause an irritating tickling on a person’s skin, channel lightning through a weapon, tase a bitch, spawn a giant web of lightning for all sorts of purposes, or even spawn a dragon – holy crap, he wanted that Jutsu…

And upon turning to look at someone else practicing with the dummy- ayo, was she using lightning chakra to stab that dummy over there?! Nah, that had Sakuraba fully standing at attention, nearing the dummy and glaring with all of his curiosity ebbing out of his face… until she complained about aim. That was when Sakuraba realized who she was.

"Ayooooo, Chie? Long time na see, coh… kinda funneh findin’ ya ‘ere- wuh kinda flashy ass Jutsu is dat, and can I learn dat?”

Taking a small break from her stabbing she would massage the muscles in her hand and arm to make sure she wasn't injuring herself by constantly using the technique so she didn't even notice someone approaching her at first. It wasn't until she heard the young boy's voice did she even noticed his presence. It was the young Sakuraba who was one of the black sheep of the family if she remembered correctly. kind of like she was with the fact she didn't go hard into the physical sides of things. So she felt a slight kinship to him than with other Okada family members.[break][break]

"This?" Chie would ask while acting out the chakra scalpel technique then changing it into the lightening scalpel technique which showed minor sparks coming from it, though not enough to do major damage to an opponent much less a dummy, when Sakuraba asked about her technique. Stabbing the dummy again it would flail around again after the hit from the shock and Chie would remove her hand from the dummy before continuing, "I'm not sure you can learn it as it's more of a medical technique, but we can try if you would like." Looking at Sakuraba she felt unsure if the boy would be able to learn it but she wasn't about to just straight out deny him from learning. "We can still try to see if you could or at the very least get the basics down for Raiton Release to get you started on it."

Chakra… she was releasing such a thin blade of chakra from her hand! Could that cut people into a million pieces, or something?! It sounded wayyyyyyyyy too unorthodox to the Okada clan’s bludgeoning ways, their way of the fist if you could call it that… but this was Chie’s power. He couldn’t help but sparkle at her progression.

Not only did it leave a stab wound on the dummy… but electric sparks, albeit small ones, escaped the scalpel and caused the dummy to twitch a bit. It wasn’t really able to jolt like a human’s body, but… that meant that her chakra technique here must’ve packed a lot of charge! He had to learn that – imagine what a menace he could be if the others kept fearing that he’d stab them with a blade so fucking painful that it shocked them on impact-

"WOH!?!” he quickly exhaled once the first part of her reply came out, implying that it was a Medical Technique and that he likely wouldn’t possess the right skill to learn it… quitter mindset! Who’d you think he was, huh?! "EYO, SIS?! Ya hadn’t even tri?! Ya dunno, but me and Raiton, we… we awn stable terms. I can shaw ya-"

Nah, fuck that dummy – he was intent on completely destroying it, just to make Chie know what type of freak of nature he was. ‘Not sure you can learn it’ my ass – after this display, she’d definitely have other thoughts. Surprisingly, he weaved handseals first and foremost – it appeared that he would perform a Ninjutsu and not a Taijutsu, and once the last handseal was weaved, he clapped his hand downward and watched the dummy disintegrate in a summoned wall of pure, crackling lightning loud enough to frighten everyone in the hall.

The dummy was dust after that display as Sakuraba turned around to face Chie again, his back against the roaring thunder wall. "YA THINK I CAN’T LEARN SHIET, EH?! WELL, GUESS AGAIN! *cough* … W-Wuh I mean is, ah’d be grateful ta learn from ya, bawt dun look down on meh. Ya’ll regret that!”

She couldn't help but chuckle at his reaction. Chie couldn't blame him for his reaction especially since she doubted his ability and pride was something Sakuraba had a bunch in himself. Reminded her of another Okada family member who she worked with quite often. So how could she say no to such a stupid face such as his? After all, even if she was a bit of a black sheep in the family herself she still loved her family. So despite her better judgment of his ability, she was willing to help him even if it was for naught.[break][break]

"We should first start then with the fact this technique is a subversion of another technique," Chie would demonstrate the lightening scalpel again for him to watch before continuing. "This is Raiton no Mesu or Lightening Scalpel if you will. It's mainly used to temporarily cause the opponent to lose muscle control for a short period. It doesn't do much actual surface damage since it penetrates the skin without leaving a mark." She would then point to the dummy and Sakuraba would notice in the places that Chie struck there weren't any actual incisions in the dummy.[break][break]

"Now for its basic form," Chie would add as she took out the raiton chakra of the technique, "Is very similar in how it works just without the chakra infused into it. There are different kinds of this technique outside of ration." Chie would then switch to the water scalpel she knew. "One for each element though I currently only know these two," Chie would say making a mental note to try and learn the rest one day. She would deactivate the scalpel and then look at Sakuraba intensely before asking, "I get the impression though you are more interested in Raiton techniques in general though is that correct?"

Stupid face won today!

His train of thought, saturated with pride, was sidetracked by the notion that the technique she had in mind was actually a subversion of a whole other technique – a Lightning Scalpel technique, if one was to be exact. A Lightning Release technique that cut off muscle control on a limb for a short perio- wait, what? So he could, say, poke someone’s arm with this, and they’d just have a limp flinging around for a bit?! This had massive chaos potential… so Sakuraba decided internally to learn this technique, in the end! If it was Raiton, if it was Lightning, his heart just kept beating faster. It was his calling, after all.

"It really dun cut, dos ett…”

Nowhere on the dummy could he see outwards damage of any kind. It was a discreet technique to screw people’s mobilities over with, something Sakuraba couldn’t help but grin at the thought of. It’d be marvelous to catch Goro or Taki lacking with this technique in hand… one day, at least.

"Raiton? Shiiiiiieeet, wut gave ett away?” Sakuraba jokingly surrendered his desires, "Aye, I been on a Raiton binge lately – guess how maneh Jutsus ah learnt last week? Three! I know, how? I dunno! Loik, dis shit feel genetic… lemme try dat out, doh!”

It was one of those small, sharp Jutsus, so Sakuraba needed a moment to focus while holding his flat palm forward… and one would be able to notice small bursts of crackling sounds from his body. Not from muscles straining or anything, but from the generation of static electricity.

And with a sudden flash, a bolt escaped his hand and shot a burn mark onto the dummy! "… D-Das not da Jutsu ya showed me, d-dat’s Thunder Shot… ma bad.” Control, huh? What was that?
