It was remarkably easy to refrain from sass when one was talking to a bijuu, and so instead of the usual counters Itsuki might have given to the Kyuubi's comments, nor even to try and explain himself further. The giant fox had rather magnanimously commanded they leave, and to fail to do so of his own accord now would only set back any good will he might have built today.

Taking Miroru's metaphysical hand, not because he had to, but because he wanted to, he got to his feet as he tried to reinforce the barriers of his mind, to shore up his defences against the latent assault against him that came from being near the Kyuubi. It might take more practice, but he certainly felt a little less fearful and a little less hated.

Bowing towards the lake in the same way one would a kamidana, Itsuki backed away, bowed once more, and turned to leave with his friend, walking alongside her until they reached the torii and seeming to dissolve into motes of light as he slowly ended their connection, the wisps of chakra that remained floating like little fireflies around Miroru before fading away.

Opening his eyes slumped forward in Seiza, the first thing Itsuki saw was the bloodstained ground below his face, and with a sigh he pulled out a cloth from within his kimono to wipe his nose and face clean, the light trickle of blood from the strain of merging with the Kyuubi was far less than last time, and a quick check told him that his ears and eyes hadn't also sprung a leak, so all in all, a big success.

Straightening up once he was sure he wouldn't bleed over his good clothing (Obaa-sama would kill him) he looked over to Miroru with a slight smile, "well, that went well, ne?"
