The busy life Reiashi had placed himself into often meant there were days where Reiashi was moving from one job to another. Most of daylight was spent in the academy, with dusk and a majority of the night being spent in his Barrier Corps office. His memories of the day were covered in countless papers and documents; referrals, mission assignments, investigation results- it never seemed to end. With the stars blinking into the night sky, the white haired Gure had hoped that there would be some break in the ceaseless storm of job after job when he received a message that one of the volunteers was sick and that he would need to cover her shift. A heavy sigh would part from the man's lips as he shook his head. There went that date.

Locking up for the night, Reiashi left the office as clean and neat as possible when he left, to the point where one would question if the office saw any use. As the tumblers locked into place and Reiashi confirmed no one was waiting outside of his office, the silver eyed Uzumaki would depart from third job and back to his second; the Gure Orphanage. Deciding it would be quicker to take the rooftops than to walk the way there, and knowing that the kids would grow more and more rowdy the longer when he was gone. Jumping to the nearest building, Gure Reiashi would begin the journey to one of his many homes.

DAREDEMO Reiashi Gure

   Had the decision to leave the compound been a rather rash one? Almost certainly. Was Daredemo certain that it was the correct one? Even more so. Had the child prepared properly for the problems that would come from leaving their chid hood home without so much as a place to sleep for the night planned out?

    Not in the slightest.

    Daredemo was woefully underprepared for the task set before them, and quite to the contrary they mostly found themselves continuing to wander the rooftops of Konoha aimlessly for the evening. At some point he'd find a place that looked at least decently comfortable to sleep. It wasn't like he was going to go crawling to anyone else. He had made a decision, he was prepared to find out what to do next. 

    He hadn't left the Uchiha compound completely unprepared after all. He had a small bag of clothes to choose from, he had a blanket to sleep under. He didn't exactly know what tomorrow would bring about, but he knew that he had passed his graduation exam and that meant that he'd start making his own income soon enough, and then he'd be able to get an apartment in the village. Easy peasy. 

    So, Daredemo set up shop on a roof top in the edges of the village. It was warm thanks to some of the vents releasing heat, so it seemed a fine place to sleep.

The habit of traveling through sporadic leaps and jumps across buildings was as normal a sight as someone walking down the streets to Reiashi, a side effect of being raised in a hidden ninja village. After years of experience, the act became second nature, to the point where Reiashi didn't need to consciously pay attention to his surroundings, having memorized the positioning of the various buildings in Konohagakure long ago. This allowed the white haired shinobi to let his mind wander and wonder, observing the world around him in a great amount of detail. It was always interesting to observe the changes in Konoha from day to day.

Soft landing, crouch, cold draft. Ashi is probably still feverish. Bounce again, smokestack- haven't heard from dad in a while, I should check on the larger mushroom. As it was any other day, despite the calm the shinobi potrayed; Reiashi's mind was rapidly absorbing the world around him and quickly moving through several linked topics that others would struggle to keep up with. ADHD looked so exhausting from the outside- and sometimes it was. Having a motor for a brain however did allow one to pick up on things quicker than most, as well as kept momentum going. However, this mental divergence also had another issue; distractions completely removing all momentum. Another leap, there's a hole in the building-move to the left- did they fix the front yard? Get ready to spring, to another row to recalculate- why is Daredemo sleeping on that roof?

The chuunin would land with a comparatively soft step, bewildered at the sight of one of the Uchiha clan huddled next to a vent on some stranger's home. A small child resting in the cold with only a thin blanket to keep themselves warm, it was a sight Reiashi had seen often- but rarely in the village. The far more out of field factor was that it was a member of the Uchiha, one of the biggest and most influential clans in Konohagakure. While the chuunin knew he needed to head to the Gure Orphanage as soon as possible, this strange occurrence demanded investigation, and given the duo's recent history- the Uzumaki turned Gure felt a need to make sure the boy was alright. The young boy had been a bit of a trouble student in the academy, having been sent to Reiashi's desk many times in the past year. Yet the way the young boy had lashed out and often acted seemed far more than simply being 'the boys nature' as many had assumed. Something had been nurturing that attitude, encouraging it- intended or otherwise. Having seen how such events effected others in the village, even others of the young boy's own clan, Reiashi had begun forming his own suspicions. It seemed they might be confirmed if what he assumed had occurred happened.

So, with a soft step towards the boy, Reiashi would clear his voice to see just how far into his sleep cycle the boy was. If and only if the boy stirred, Reiashi would speak softly so as to not startle him. "Forgive me Daredemo, but what are you doing up here?"

DAREDEMO Reiashi Gure

   It didn't take much of trying to lie down on a roof to make Daredemo realize just how little he knew of what it was like to live like this. His family home was oppressive, it felt like he was locked in a prison half the time, and yet the actual rooms he had at his disposal were comfy. His father was a terrible man but he knew how to buy a comfy bed and nice decor.

    It was uncomfortable trying to lay like this, the concrete was unforgiving and cold. It was a few horrid minutes of tossing and turning trying to find some level of comfort before Daredemo was greeted with a very familiar voice. 

    A very, dishearteningly annoying voice. Daredemo was very aware of his disciplinary history. Reiashi was a face he had seen dozens of times, often talking to the boy about what a problem he was. A long history of punishments for skipping classes to go to the training fields, or fighting with other students when they disparaged the Uchiha name. All to say that Daredemo was immediately put on guard by the arrival of Reiashi.

    "I'm not your ward anymore, I graduated." Daredemo's comment was brief, and direct. Trying immediately to distance himself from whatever reprimand he was about to receive. "So whatever you're about to yell at me for, save it."

Reiashi was not a stranger to laying the ground, although usually this was due to being previously forced onto it by an opponent. He could not imagine resting on the hard cold slabs that made the rooftops, the small pours of the stone working as small jagged teeth against their skin. Thus it would take more than a few words to make the white haired Uzumaki leave a child atop a stranger's roof, especially one he had become particularly worried about. His reaction is direct and brief, as he usually is when he's defensive. Eye contact is being avoided. The Academy Head maintained his distance, not intruding further on the child. Yet he still needed to show he was genuinely trying to reach out, so the Uzumaki would kneel down to make sure he was not towering over Daredemo.

Reiashi had recognized the signs from his time with Kazui, fully aware of the effects such events had on children. He had missed them before, and failed out of ignorance. Up until recently, his hands were tied due to Daredemo and his interactions being limited to when he worked in the academy. Such limitations were no longer present, and did not stop the surrogate Gure from reaching out to the boy. He would not allow that abuse to simply continue while he could do something about it. However, Reiashi knew he couldn't force it, as much as he wanted to end the situation. Were he to follow through with that instinct, he'd be the same as his father- enforcing his will on Daredemo's life. So the white haired shinobi would continue to reach out to the boy. "You may not be my ward. You have graduated and achieved the rank of genin." Reiashi confirmed the boy's achievements, in no way downplaying the events or tying it back to himself. "But you are also a member of Konoha, and a fellow shinobi. I couldn't wear my badge if I allowed you to simply shiver on a rooftop." His instinct was to tell the child he'd take him home- which if Reiashi was right would cause him to pull away and confirm his thoughts. But he would not stoop to such tactics, not against someone who possibly only knew such treatment. It would not help the young Uchiha in any way, and could in fact push him further into himself. The purpose was to help Daredemo first and foremost, the silvered eyed chuunin's own desires could wait. "Even if you do not wish to talk, please all me to take you somewhere warm." The first step was distance and safety; time to heal and see a new world.

[Daredemo]

DAREDEMO Reiashi Gure

   Reiashi was one of the people at the academy that Demo had liked the least in all honesty. It was almost solely because of the fact that whenever Daredemo got in trouble, it was likely Reiashi's office he was sent to. Reiashi was the figurehead of a location that caused Daredemo little more than grief. And Reiashi didn't have the benefit of being Shigure or one of his kin. The young Uchiha having grown to have some amount of love in his art for the Hyuuga clan after all his talks with the one instructor he actually liked. Something that Reiashi was no doubt aware of.

    Daredemo had always been a problem child at the school. He was constantly picking fights, a bully of a boy who would talk non stop about how much smarter, stronger, faster, better he was than any of the other students he happened to come across. It wasn't all that long ago, but it was a very different person than the one who sat here on the exposed roof top. 

    And yet, that sense of pride still carried through him. "Fine!" Daredemo rolled his eyes as he stood up, trying to hide the relief on his face, "if it'll get you to stop bugging me I'll let you find me somewhere warmer."

With a small smile, Reiashi was admittedly relieved Daredemo would not need further convincing. Yet a word choice had made his concern rise just the slightest amount before being reigned back in. Find him somewhere. He doesn't have somewhere to go back to. Had something happened at the compound? No use prying now, Reiashi was well aware of the reputation he had built with even normal troubled students. Daredemo was quite the... well stubborn repeat offender. The young Uchiha had seen many times that Reiashi was lenient on many things, but fights at no point appeared on that list. Hence why it was important to build trust now that the relationship of disciplinary and trouble child no longer needed to apply.

As the child stood, Reiashi noted a loss of tension as he began readying to leave. Either he is relieved, or he recovers from the cold remarkably quickly. Both were strangely plausible when it came to the Uchiha. "Thank you, Daredemo-san." With the acknowledgement of honorifics, Reiashi would stand slowly, looking back in the direction he had originally been going. "I have a place you can stay until you wish to return." Leaving the ball in Daredemo's court as to if he would continue conversation, instead leading across the rooftops.

For now, so long as Daredemo permitted it, they'd travel in silence as they moved towards the outskirts of the village. Of course, depending on the guards stationed there, there would possibly be issues with Reiashi leaving alongside an Uchiha Clan member without any official mission to be on. But if all went smoothly, they would head straight to the Gure Orphanage.
