"Just at the edge of the border, that's my destination." the girl would remark as she made her way towards the end of the country between Bird Country and Moku no Kuni. Her assignment today was intercepting a construction operation from entering into the country. Having received a tip from a another member who was passing through Bird country.

She was told there was a caravan of shinobi guards in addition to a good deal of equipment that was in need of destruction however the civilian's were not to be harmed, she would do her best to ensure no one got hurt but needed to make certain that whatever shinobi force was on hand was dispatched.

However given that the shinobi were coming in from Bird Country many of their adversaries were seemingly going to be shinobi from Isshigakure from just a nation over, a force that Fuu herself had been very familiar with. And despite the fact that they were coming into Wood country itself Fuu was still left to handle this alone since the Tanjo numbers were still spread thin.

With her and Mirko still being separated many of her missions had to be handled on her own but hopefully when she and her shaman friend were reunited things would go back to being easier. For now Fuu would make her way towards the area where she was meant to intercept the caravan crafting a few handseals having already loosened her body using the softbody modification technique as well as allowing her body to undergo her transformation into her Onigo state. She'd keep watch for the moment awaiting their arrival ready to strike at a moments notice. "Alright...now let's see whose coming around the corner." the young woman would remove her binoculars and take a gander down the road looking for her target whilst hidden amongst the trees.

DESCRIPTION:
Originally developed for spying activities, this technique can be done after some surgery and actual body modification. The user dislocates their joints then controls their softened body with chakra, allowing them to stretch and twist any part of their body at any angle, elongating and even coiling around their opponent. This can also be used to make the user's body more malleable and snakelike. People particularly skilled with the technique can utilize it for movement as well, being able to slither along the ground or wrap around a tree much like a snake.

If there was one sole reason that could make him drop everything to investigate— this was it. "Samurai..."

Fate had already delivered him Hirohata Jinzashin... or perhaps it had been random chance. Truthfully it did not matter in the end so long as it brought him closer to his ultimate goal. Which was why he found himself here.

Word reached his ears of another samurai, though this time he had no name to go along with it. Only talk of someone wielding a blade keeping company with shinobi due to enter the country. Once, he remembered telling himself that his wrath was strictly for those directly involved with his family's tragedy. Initially that was the plan...

...but he had long since grown past its naiveté. Many hands played a part in that night, far more than he could have imagined. The wanderer knew whom was personally responsible but getting to him was no easy task. It would require patience, careful planning, and most of all— blood. If that meant other casualties than so be it. By this point his hands were already stained with the life essence of the undeserving. "What's a few more..." He thought.

As he approached the border between Moku no Kuni and Tori no Kuni he placed his hood over his head and veered off of the path. Into the cover of the underbrush as he did his utmost to silence his footfalls. Dark eyes narrowed, face already fixed into a glare, he treaded lightly. Focusing up for what was to come... so much so that it took him a moment to realize a familiar presence in his head. "...you're kidding." It was the girl from the Tanjo, here of all places. Quiet as he could, he headed in her direction, the woman soon coming into view among the trees.

Best to make his presence known now... lest he end up caught in some environmentally-conscious crossfire in a few moments. "Kazama." He spoke quietly, but gruffly. She would be able to note that he was a fair deal more tense than when last they met. "What are you doing here?" Not exactly a friendly hello, but this was an odd situation.

If she was here for the samurai as well it might pay to have an extra set of hands... but somehow he doubted they had the same designs. Reaching for his hip, he withdrew a scroll and unfurled it. Placing his fingers upon a kanji that read '犬' and funneling a small amount of chakra through it. Two wolfdogs appeared in small puffs of smoke, one black and one white summoned with the Kugutsu Kuchiyose no Jutsu. Both looking viscous and ready for battle... but looking towards the road. As he rolled the scroll back up and replaced it in the holster on his hip, his eyes shifted from the woman to the path. Keeping his Sense active so that he could feel any approach within a kilometer.

Hopefully they still had some time to hash things out before his mark arrived, and if he could set up his puppets beforehand all the better. But for now, he would simply remain crouched and wait for the woman's reply.

Operating the legs of a puppet requires dexterity and agility. Much like moving one's own body. As a child in Tetsu no Kuni Uemon trained in Jujitsu and Kenjutsu, finding his aptitude for speed rather than strength. Honed after years on the road with his mentors, Uemon is surprisingly light on his feet and his hand-to-hand strikes are faster than most expect. Able to strike and weave with deft swiftness he is capable of holding his own against Taijutsu specialists of his rank and outright overwhelming those of lower ranks in terms of speed.

Lighting is a crucial part of any play. Identifying the actors and drawing focus to them in the dark. With much training Uemon has become a Sensor Type, able to detect and hone in on chakra signatures akin to a sixth sense of sorts. A useful tool when it comes to tracking or surveillance. As of now, he is capable of passively sensing chakra up to one hundred meters from his body, or one kilometer if actively searching. This also allows him to more efficiently utilize his puppets without needing a direct line of sight to his targets. Knowing the placement of actors on stage at all times is essential.

Ryoko Masamune was not, under normal circumstances, an angry woman. She had spent a good chunk of her life learning the ways of Bushido, and had spent nearly as long practicing them, the Seven Virtues being her guiding lights through the dark and dangerous world that was the Land of Iron. So when the order came from her clan head to head out into the Shinobi nations and track down someone using the clan’s name for their own ends, she had gladly accepted… but that had been three months ago. Three long, treacherous months.

"I do not care how many border crossings you have made.” The Onna-musha said, her face flat with barely controlled annoyance as she stared up at the hulking brute of a man before her. She had spent the last three months dealing with all manner of liars, sneaks, and cheats… but this Kazama, a simple laborer, was dangerously close to breaking her patience. "Until we are there I will put nothing past these… ‘Tanjo’, as you call them.”

The brute growled and snapped at her, but Ryo tuned him out, her gray gaze going distant as she thought over what it was he was doing here. All of her leads had gone cold, every trail had proven a dead end, and no one seemed to know who or where the "Masamune Fudo” was… And she was broke. She had signed on to help guard this caravan of construction workers as a way to earn enough ryo to keep searching, but that was before she’d known Shionbi would be involved.

Still, she needed the money, so she’d stayed on, though it seemed her presence was almost universally unneeded; they hadn’t met so much a single one of these Tanjo on the road to Moku no Kuni, and it didn’t seem as if they would, either. Even so, she stayed vigilant, just in case they used the same cowardly tactics that Kazama’s hired Shinobi would… though, if they truly were as much a menace as the man claimed, perhaps having the Isshigakure ninja would help. The least they could do was cancel out any sneakery and skulking about by the enemy. A bunch of sneaking, honorless rats.

Eventually, the brute left, grumbling as he did, his horse plodding back towards the equipment as the caravan approached a small river that denoted the border between Bird and Tree Country in these parts. A forest stood on the Tree Country side, thick but not oppressively so, but Ryoko called a halt to the procession anyway, keeping a good fifty meters between the river and the caravan as she looked back, hoping to give the order for the Shinobi to move in and sweep the area… only to find them absent, their horses empty. It seemed they had already decided to go ahead.

Wonderful. The woman thought as she kicked her horse forward, one hand going to her blade, just in case. Perhaps the Isshi-nin would find something, perhaps not… but they would be doing so alone, at least for the moment. She had a river to cross first.

As the girl looked through her binoculars she was able to see the caravan from across the river in front of her. "There's my target now..." a voice would call out to her and the girls head shift in that direction seeing Uemon before her which was a surprise to say the very least he asked her what she was doing here. "I could ask you the same question?" the girl would say as she placed her binoculars back on between sentences.

"I'm on an assignment and I can't afford to take my eyes off the target." She'd suddenly then spot some shinobi moving out along with a woman on a horse coming in her direction. "Shoot." the girl would think to herself as she placed her binoculars away and dropped from her perch.

"And it looks like the cavalry is here...that is one big horse." she'd look towards the man she knew as Fudo and would speak briefly. "You might want to get somewhere safe Fudo-san--" but before she could finish her words she would see him remove two small scrolls and summon two puppets that both looked like wolves admittedly the girl was quite confused. "He keeps animals stored in a scroll? Strange..." the girl would think as the goop from her body would begin to form over her allowing her to transform into her Onigo based self.

She'd keep her voice down as to not alert her foes and as one of them made their move into the area Fuu would spot them and motion towards him. "I'm not sure what you plan to do here, but I have a job to do, best of luck Fudo-san." the girl would say unaware that he himself was a puppeteer something she hadn't actually encountered before. as she left him behind. Besides it was her mission not his so it wasn't exactly his problem as far as she knew at least.

As she made her way into the wilderness of the forest she'd attempt to get the jump on one of the men she had spotted entering by rushing him down and quickly wrapping her body around his in order to immobilize his limbs. By winding him up with her squishy but tough Onigo body in an attempt to squeeze the life out of the man, careful to coil her body around his mouth to prevent him from speaking.

If she was certain that he was incapacitated she would remove herself from his binding and check his pulse to ensure he was dead, if so she'd return to the trees keeping her eyes out for more of them to try and get the jump on her opponents. Removing her crossbow from inside of her jacket ready to fire a distraction shot if need be.

Upon hearing the woman's words, Uemon's face did not so much as twitch. A job sounded about right... but did that mean his target was guarding something her organization wanted? "I'm here for the samurai." He said.

Quietly and as taciturn as ever yet still he seemed intensely focused. On edge, like he had been expecting a fight for a while now. Kazama's commentary on the situation drew his own gaze to the path, and he too could see the people who made up the escort. A swordswoman astride a large horse accompanied by three ninja of some Hidden Village.

Not any that he recognized... but it would not have mattered if he did. If they got in the way they would be dealt with. "Wait." Uemon said to Kazama, his eyes narrowing. "Before you run off... there are three people scouring the woods." A finger rose to point out their locations, ones that he could feel constantly but that he figured she would like to know about. "There, there, and there." He would motion to each one in turn so that she could see. "As long as we're both here... we might as well work together." A team-up was not something he planned on, but the odds were not in his favor alone. It would be foolish to waste an opportunity like this now.

Shifting direction towards the other two signatures, he shot a glance towards Kazama. "Keep your eyes open and take them quietly. Once we do... I'll deal with the mounted one." Leaving the white wolfdog In behind, he motioned with a finger for Yō to skulk alongside him with the Kugutsu no Jutsu. He was quieter than his sister puppet and harder to spot in shadow, perfect for this sort of work. Doing his best to silence his footsteps, he would take a similar approach as his ally. Closing the distance as much as he could on the furthest shinobi and sending his canine puppet towards the remaining ninja to hide in some of the underbrush. Once he was near, he would detach his threads so that his fingers were free to form a Tora seal, all that was needed for the Shunshin no Jutsu. "Time to hunt..."

In a blur Uemon would close the gap between him and the shinobi, releasing the seal once he was close and instantly bringing both hands up in an attempt to hook the man's collar with his thumbs in criss-cross fashion. If successful he would apply a great amount of pressure into his windpipe with both forearms, attempting to choke him out completely with his Nami Juji-Jime. A powerful cross strangle that would hopefully prevent any screaming.

If his surprise attack was successful and the man was incapacitated, he would shove his body into a nearby bush and crouch. Moving in an attempt to get a sightline on the remaining shinobi. With his Sense still active it was not entirely necessary... but it would make what came next all the easier. Re-attaching his chakra threads to Yō, Uemon ordered him to shake slightly in the bush he hid in, hopefully enough to draw the other shinobi close to the canine.

The fundamental and most used technique of the style, Kugutsu no Jutsu allows a puppeteer the ability to use puppets in battle. While the degree in skill determines the number of puppets that can be controlled, for starters the user can control only one. By making near invisible strings of chakra from each of their ten fingertips and attaching them to their puppets they are able to control the puppet from various distances. However there is a delay between the puppeteers orders and the puppets movements, meaning puppet movement will not be instantaneous, and the response time increases based on distance.

A chokehold and more advanced version of the Shōgai-jime. The user grabs the outside of an opponent's clothing. Their thumbs grab inside underneath the collar area. With their hands high up each side of the neck they then scissor the appendages, applying pressure to the carotid arteries reducing blood flow and rapidly resulting in loss of consciousness. Very deadly if one gets a hold of a target and capable of strangling someone to death if not broken free of.

By invigorating one's entire body with chakra, a shinobi can seemingly disappear and reappear in another location faster than most people can see. Often times one's movements are disguised with the use of an extra element, be it a smoke bomb, leaves, water, sand, etc. in order to hide the user's trajectory from those with skilled eyes. Though it mimics teleportation, it is important to remember this jutsu merely boosts the agility of its user. As useful as this technique is, it can only be used 4 times in a battle thread, compounding in exertion and difficulty each time. with any more usages beyond that result in muscle tears in the legs from overexertion. The hand seal for this technique must be held until the shinobi reaches their destination, making it impossible to utilize other techniques regardless of any preparation.

For all the skill of the Isshigakure Shionbi, they were utterly unprepared for what they were about to face; Fuu’s assault came in fast and hard, smothering her target with her very body, his breath coming out in squeaks and gasps, too low to be heard by anyone without enhanced hearing. His bones creaked and crunched beneath the Tanjo girl’s strength, and before long he was thoroughly crushed, his life ending in utter agony as he struggled to breath, to move, to think.

As for Uemon, the man’s target would go down just as swiftly as he had anticipated, his voice croaking in defiance as he tried to shout out… and found his windpipe crushed, his attempts at breathing coming in short, gasping rattles that soon faded to hiccups of pain and, finally, silence. Both Shinobi stowed their kills in the shrubbery around them, but Fuu’s haste to find another target soon proved to be a mistake, as the third Ninja spotted her before she could lay eyes on him, his voice echoing through the forest and out towards the caravan beyond.

"Contact contact contact!” He yelled, bringing his hands together as he breathed in deep, kneading Katon chakra in his gut as he formed three hand seals, only to spew it out in a pair of small deceptively fast balls of flame that shot towards Fuu in a straight line, the first aimed for her feet, the other her chest. "Katon: Gōkakyū Okibi!”

As for Ryoko, her horse’s trot towards the river morphed into a full on run the instant she heard the word "contact,” one hand holding the reins as she drew her blade with the other, her horse surging across the river with ease, charging into the forest towards the source of combat. Her face was a mask of determined resolve, and chakra flickered from her weapon, ready to be flung at the first sign of a red cloak- or anyone she didn’t immediately recognize.

And all the while, five more Isshi-nin stood, dressed as civilians, mixed in with the caravan workers… waiting. Uemon would be able to sense them rather easily, but Fuu would not- and it was up to the Wanin to determine if he shared this info.

Fuu and Uemon successfully manage to catch their targets off guard, but Fuu's haste to find the third man gets her caught, and he yells, alerting the caravan to the presence of enemies. Ryoko has charged into the forest but is not yet where the fighting is, though she has prepared a Saber Jutsu use for if she sees anyone, especially someone wearing a red cloak.

DESCRIPTION: An advanced version of the regular Gōkakyū no Jutsu, after three hand-seals the user will generate a small compressed sphere (4 inches in diameter) of Katon chakra. They will shoot this ball out of their mouth at high speeds, covering thirty meters in a three seconds. Once it comes in contact with something, the ball will release it's fire, creating a concussive blast of Katon that can tear through stone. It is highly effective against a single or small group of opponents, capable of not only burning them but tearing flesh and bone apart from the blast. These can be fired off in quick succession, making it quite the formidable Technique, but it does increase the chakra usage.

The girl moved quickly to kill her foe so much so that she had barely heard Muramasa's want to work together, and as she attempted to make her way back up the trees she was spotted by the Isshigakure shinobi who would call out contact. Fuu looked in his general direction only to see a series of fireballs making their way towards her, thinking quickly Fuu would craft a handseal in order to move rapidly getting to cover behind a tree.

Putting herself out of his line of sight and directly behind him, wanting to take down the shinobi who she now has caught off guard Fuu would fire off a quick series of handseals and fire off 6 bullets of wind 3 to his body and 3 to his head hopefully enough to knock out if not outright kill the man, with the amount of concussive force behind each one.

The blast would tear off some of the branches from the trees and once the technique was complete Fuu would augment her body by empowering her Torso using an Onigo technique that would allow her to modify her body to strengthen her durability, she'd rush through the first technique giving herself time for it to harden and then if possible would add similar augments to her arms with a different ability.

Till this point she wasn't able to locate Uemon but knew he was somewhere nearby, she still had a job to do but knew someone else might've been coming. He was confident in his ability to actively challenge her saying he would handle her, and Fuu needed to make her way towards the area across the river.

She'd peek out from the bushes able to see them, noting that they're all dawning Isshigakure shinobi uniforms, seems there was even more that she'd have to be worried about without having the knowledge of their active deception. Gurgling, strained attempts at taking breaths, life fading from the eyes... it was done.

Another dead at his hands, the man's windpipe crushed outright via his Jujitsu stranglehold. Once such a thing might have given him pause... but no longer. The unfortunate shinobi had gotten in the way, so this was his end.

It would be the same for any others, too. By the time he hid the man's body and stealthily repositioned himself, he was able to see and hear the next events unfold. Kazama had been compromised, the ninja who found her launched several fireballs her way, and the samurai was on alert. Aside from that a nagging feeling in his head called to him...

...there were more shinobi. Of course it was impossible to say for a certainty, but the strength of their chakra was rather telling. "Likely blending in with the people near the caravan..." He thought, narrowing his eyes as he watched the woman's approach. Uemon always liked to stick to a plan if possible, but he knew from experience that things rarely played out that way. There were too many variables here, too many moving parts... so he would need to adapt. It did not take long for him to retrieve yet another small scroll and summon forth a small, white rabbit from a kanji that read '兎' with the Kugutsu Kuchiyose no Jutsu. "Just in case." It was a weak puppet, but its hidden tools could prove useful.

Later though, as with a swish of his fingers he re-attached the threads on his free hand back to In— so that both of his wolfdog puppets were in his control. "Horses hate wolves." The only thought as he commanded them both forth, choosing to let Kazama deal with the remaining scout. Instead, both In and Yō would dart out of the forest, meeting the samurai's horse-mounted charge head-on. Snarling and baring their fangs, looking every bit as lifelike as actual canines. Both dogs dashed towards the horse, small compartments opening on their hindlegs as they ran. Uemon curled his fingers as he conducted them, commanding them to unspool lengths of wire as they ran fast circles around the horse. Attempting to wrap both the horse and samurai up in Ninja Wire and yank them tight enough to cut flesh with his Sōtsuisei: Kōten. "Let's hope this works." He thought, then turned to look over his shoulder.

Dark eyes shifting to the fallen shinobi, then to Kazama as she appeared nearby. "I'll be fine— but there are five more chakra-users near the caravan." He said, with his dogs keeping their wire reels taut he was free to detach his threads for the moment. Instantly he weaved a series of seals— Inu → I → Hitsuji and a puff of smoke enveloped him, taking on the appearance of the Ishigakure shinobi with the Henge no Jutsu. Only with the addition of a 'bleeding' wound on his side. "We're outnumbered, don't go running off alone if you don't have to." He said, nodding towards the bridge. "Let's deal with them first... I can try to draw them to us, then we can ambush them all." Uemon pointed to the white rabbit nearby. "Just stay away from any of these you see."

Splitting up was not a good idea right now. If she had run off, she would have charged straight into a five-on-one. Better to misdirect and use traps to their advantage... which is exactly what he intended. The transformed Uemon stood up and ran, scattering all of his thirty Makibishi behind him on the forest floor as he had his rabbit Tsuki hide in some nearby bushes. "Contact!" He shouted as he eventually appeared on the edge of the treeline, clutching at his side and putting on his best pained expression. "I'm hit... they're in the trees, here!" Uemon leaned against a tree and motioned to the caravan, hoping the reinforcements would come crawling into his trap. It was a bit of a gambit but they had to stay close to one another. Anything else was a death wish. With the bait set, he would turn.

Charging back into the forest in an attempt to lead them into his caltrops and near the waiting Tsuki. The next step would only require two hand seals, and even if he only managed to take a few of them out with his ploy it would be worth it. For now all they could do was wait and prepare themselves... he only hoped that Kazama was ready for it.

However there is a delay between the puppeteers orders and the puppets movements, meaning puppet movement will not be instantaneous, and the response time increases based on distance.

Both of Uemon's wolfdog puppets deploy ninja wire from their hind legs, circling their target in opposite directions with incredible speed in an attempt to bind them. Once successfully captured all it takes is a simple flick of the finger from their puppeteer to cause the wire mechanisms to pull taut and begin reeling in. Within seconds this can slice deeply into the victim and ultimately cut clean through them if not escaped from in time. On the other hand this does leave the dogs anchored to the target and can place them in a less than ideal situation if the intended victim is able to either not be cut or muscle them around via the wires.

Puppeteers must maintain expert control over their wide selection of puppets, and so too must a shinobi with their chakra. Necessary for his Puppet Ninjutsu and applicable to his other techniques, Uemon has trained extensively in order to mitigate the amount of chakra he uses with his jutsu. Compensating for his average chakra reserves this allows him to stay in the fight that much longer.

TSUKURIMONO・作り物 - INTELLIGENCE
Stage and setting can make or break a performance. A director needs vigilance and flexibility to ensure all the moving parts of a play go off without a hitch. A learned strategist with a quick mind, Uemon is always observing even in the midst of combat. This allows for him to find gaps and weaknesses in his opponent's techniques easier than some, and allows him to formulate strategies and deceptions to take advantage of these shortcomings. A knack for tactics cues him on which approach works best depending on his target.

ASHIZUKAI・足遣い - SPEED
Operating the legs of a puppet requires dexterity and agility. Much like moving one's own body. As a child in Tetsu no Kuni Uemon trained in Jujitsu and Kenjutsu, finding his aptitude for speed rather than strength. Honed after years on the road with his mentors, Uemon is surprisingly light on his feet and his hand-to-hand strikes are faster than most expect. Able to strike and weave with deft swiftness he is capable of holding his own against Taijutsu specialists of his rank and outright overwhelming those of lower ranks in terms of speed.

SHOMEI・署名 - SENSOR TYPE 
Lighting is a crucial part of any play. Identifying the actors and drawing focus to them in the dark. With much training Uemon has become a Sensor Type, able to detect and hone in on chakra signatures akin to a sixth sense of sorts. A useful tool when it comes to tracking or surveillance. As of now, he is capable of passively sensing chakra up to one hundred meters from his body, or one kilometer if actively searching. This also allows him to more efficiently utilize his puppets without needing a direct line of sight to his targets. Knowing the placement of actors on stage at all times is essential.

Fuu’s barrage of Air bullets was quick, precise, and powerful- but far, far from quiet. The Isshi-nin she had targeted moved out of the way of her barrage, his chakra surging as he forced in through every muscle and limb, enhancing his physical capabilities while, beneath them, Ryoko charged forwards, her horse powering through the brush and undergrowth to carry her into the fray. Her blade swung in a wide arc, launching the Saber Jutsu she’d prepared at Fuu as the girl formed her Chitinous armor, pitting the power of her Onigo body against the might of the intensely packed chakra within- and if it hit, not even the Tanjo’s armor would prove enough to stave off injury, leaving her with a deep gash across her chest.

The sole remaining Isshi-nin charged at Fuu while she was dealing with Ryoko’s Saber Jutsu, closing the distance between them with massively increased speed, only to slam his leg across her side in an attempted pincer maneuver, following the kick up by twisting his body around to slam his other leg into the same place once, twice, three times in rapid succession.

As for Uemon’s feint, Ryoko would fall for it with ease, urging her horse after her supposed ally; but while the Wanin’s initial effort proved fruitful, what happened next showed that his foe was far from helpless or stupid. Ryoko’s horse, rather than leap back in fear at the wolves, charged forward, attempting to stamp down on the beasts with its massive hooves… and though it failed to land a direct hit on either, In’s side was clipped by the horse’s stomping, cracking the puppet’s casing but not damaging it enough to put it out of the fight.

Unfortunately for Ryoko, her horse’s dauntless nature proved to be its undoing, as the ninja wire deployed from the pair of puppets grew taut before either rider or beast knew what was happening, slicing the horse’s legs at the ankles. This caused the beast to topple forward in pain- but Ryoko proved somewhat more dextrous, leaping from the saddle and rolling along the forest floor, her eyes catching sight of the wire at last as she whirled towards where her "ally” had disappeared into the bush.

This is why I hate Shinobi. The Onna-musha thought, priming her blade with Fuuton chakra as she swung it in a wide arc, slashing at both the wolves before her and anything beyond them for well over twenty meters. It wasn’t the best offense, but she needed to create space, to get out of the woods and onto ground that she could control. And there were few better ways to do that than toss out one massive wave of cutting wind.

Phew! Lot happening here. Ok, so Fuu's attempted Air Bullet barrage doesn't work, as the remaining Ishi-nin manages to dodge, activating Sokudo. At the same time, this Ryoko to notice where Fuu is, launching her Saber Jutsu at Fuu while she's reinforcing her torso, while the Isshi-nin comes at her from the side with a Sokudo-enhanced Tatsumaki Senpukyaku combo. I won't say this will absolutely hit Fuu, but she's in a pickle right now.

As for Uemon, his attempt to distract Ryoko with his puppets finds mixed results; the horse is certainly distracted, but instead of being scared it tries to stomp In and Yo, managing to clip In with one of its powerful hooves. His Sōtsuisei: Kōten works just fine though, crippling the horse- but in doing this, he alerts Ryoko that her "ally" is likely not anything close, and she is able to recover, attacking In, Yo, Uemon, and Tsuki with one powerful Fuuton Bukijutsu.

As Fuu would make her attempt at her technique she'd find her strike missing and her opponent easily able to get himself out of the way of her attacks, in that same instance she seemed to catch the attention of their newest adversary the horseback riding leader of their brigade and would also find herself between a rock and a hard place.

As not only did her strike miss but she was directly in the enemies line of fire. Fuu didn't have much in the way of jutsu so needed to do what she could to get herself away from this nasty scenario and would quickly form a handseal the moment her body finshed forming its hardened state. If she managed to get somewhere safe the girl would summon a shadow clone that would stay in place in an effort to aid Uemon and would then accelerate at top speed as she made her way towards the river.

As she rushed over the girl would quickly craft an incredibly fast series of handseals, and would let out a powerful wail that would hopefully deafen the men and allow her time to go on the attack, she'd start with a simple jutsu that would aim to blow them down with a strong gust of wind that could potentially knock over the equipment present that she was sent to destroy. She wasn't exactly sure who all was there but from what she could gather each of them seemed like enemies and she needed to make sure she could keep pace

By invigorating one's entire body with chakra, a shinobi can seemingly disappear and reappear in another location faster than most people can see. Often times one's movements are disguised with the use of an extra element, be it a smoke bomb, leaves, water, sand, etc. in order to hide the user's trajectory from those with skilled eyes. Though it mimics teleportation, it is important to remember this jutsu merely boosts the agility of its user. As useful as this technique is, it can only be used 4 times in a battle thread, compounding in exertion and difficulty each time. with any more usages beyond that result in muscle tears in the legs from overexertion. The hand seal for this technique must be held until the shinobi reaches their destination, making it impossible to utilize other techniques regardless of any preparation.

Typically a clone's equipment doesn't retain any special abilities and the clone itself is dispersed when hit with a single attack or incapacitated, although the clone can also choose to disperse itself or be dispersed by the user.

When the clone finally disperses, any new knowledge it has gained along with it's remaining chakra are passed back to the original ninja and any additional clones.

This technique is the amplification of the user's own voice in an area of affect. This technique, in an auditory range, can shatter glass and will deafen people who have auditory organs for a time (3 posting rounds). This deafening is harshest directly after it is used, but deteriorates over the next five posts as a ringing sound (tinnitus) can be heard in the mean time.

The deafening can be "refreshed" by using the jutsu once again, but continued usage will put strain on the user's vocal chords, rendering them temporarily (rest of the thread) useless after 3 uses.

Ear protection can lessen or eliminate the damage caused by the technique based on the strength of said protection. Also, that if the sound waves come into contact with water or Suiton-based chakra constructs, the sound will be absorbed and muted, thus making the technique less potent and useful. If one is out of the jutsu's audible range (50 meter radius), this technique does nothing.

Plans had a way of going awry especially where his luck was involved, and that was exactly what seemed to happen here. "Damn." An internal curse as he watched it all play out, his dark eyes narrowing on the scene before him.

Needless to say the battle was officially on. Though his ploy involving the Henge had been successful, it drew only the samurai. Meanwhile the intended dupes stood fast near the caravan. "If they're in disguise they may have orders to hold position." It made sense that they did not come running at the first sign of trouble... so he needed to adapt.

In the haze of combat, Kazama had been intercepted and was busy being harried by the samurai and the remaining Ishi-nin on their side of the bridge. Environmental radical or no, even she would not be able to last long on her own. Uemon had to act quickly so even at risk of blowing his own disguise he retreated further into the forest. With the samurai in tow and busy fending off his wolves, he reattached his chakra threads to both and had them scatter in opposite directions. In had taken damage and if he could avoid having them destroyed he could use them later.

Once that was finished, he released his threads while he neared Tsuki, his white rabbit. A simple Tora hand seal and some deft usage of chakra created three duplicates via the Kugutsu Bunshin no Jutsu. "Stationary or not, those five near the caravan are an issue." Even now, he had been carefully managing his chakra usage. Uemon did not have the largest reserves so he needed to be smart and stick mostly to his smaller techniques for now. "Let's see if this'll actually work."

With a swish of his fingers, he latched his chakra threads onto all three of the Kugutsu Bunshins, having them amble out of the underbrush while he hid himself and crouched. The samurai would have to wait a bit longer... and if she came looking, he hoped his makibishi would slow her down. Using his sensory capabilities he guided all three rabbit's clones across the bridge and towards the caravan. A shrill, piercing scream filled the air as the puppets ran.

Uemon could only assume it was some sort of jutsu, thinking back to a certain Gorilla Sage that was able to do something similar. Preparing himself for what was to come, he commanded all three rabbit duplicates to leap towards the men guarding the caravan then formed a lone, half Hitsuji seal with his left hand. Three hisses sounded.

Fuses having been lit inside of each clone, an ominous orange light coming within. Once the clones were near enough to the caravan guards— they exploded violently. In hopes of taking down as many of them as he could using the Explosive Tags inside of them. "A shame." Was all he thought. Uemon had no quarrel with these ninja...

...but if Kazama were to fight a one-on-five by herself, she might end up dead and then the odds would be even further stacked against him. To him it was merely a matter of simple math and so they had to be dealt with.

As for the samurai's arcing slash of wind, he hoped that by retreating far enough into the forest and attempting to hide again the distance would be enough to shield him. Chakra threads now free once more, he would reattch them to his wolfdogs. Bringing them both to bear on the remaining Ishi-nin. From the presence of the chakra signatures in his head, he could tell that Kazama had created a clone. "As good a distraction as any." Flicking his fingers he had both of his canines jump the remaining shinobi, intending to bite, slash, and rend him thoroughly in a haze of constant attacks with his Sōtsuisei: Totsugeki. Uemon kept low and did his best to stay out of sight while he struck.

Misdirection, deception, and hit-and-run tactics were his allies in this fight. It was impossible for even the strongest shinobi to completely control the battlefield... but he would do his damnedest to try and wear them down.

On command In and Yō will blitz and enemy in hit-and-run fashion striking with their black iron claws and fangs. Ninja tools can be deployed during this attack for added effectiveness. Attacking from opposite directions makes this technique difficult to completely defend from and often the target will end up shredded without even realizing. The dual hounds attack a total of ten times at maximum speed with the intent of rending the victim completely. In totality the attack can deal major damage if vital areas are struck but each individual attack is not enough to bring someone down. Also unless both canines attack in unison their separate strikes are much easier to anticipate and defend from.

After performing the necessary hand seal the user is able to create a physical clone of a puppet. Multiple clones can be created though the amount of chakra needed to perform this jutsu increases with each one. Naturally more complex puppets require more chakra to clone as well. These puppets retain all weapons and mechanical abilities of the original, though do not retain chakra-reactive/conductive abilities and will disperse after being struck. This does not bypass the necessary chakra strings required to control puppets but with some clever implementation or additional techniques the duplicates can used effectively.

The tags can be attached to a surface or wrapped around a weapon to be thrown at an enemy. They are very versatile and one of the basic ninja tools. They are even capable of working under heavy rain.

Compensating for his average chakra reserves this allows him to stay in the fight that much longer.

Stage and setting can make or break a performance. A director needs vigilance and flexibility to ensure all the moving parts of a play go off without a hitch. A learned strategist with a quick mind, Uemon is always observing even in the midst of combat. Operating the legs of a puppet requires dexterity and agility. Much like moving one's own body. As a child in Tetsu no Kuni Uemon trained in Jujitsu and Kenjutsu, finding his aptitude for speed rather than strength. Honed after years on the road with his mentors, Uemon is surprisingly light on his feet and his hand-to-hand strikes are faster than most expect. Able to strike and weave with deft swiftness he is capable of holding his own against Taijutsu specialists of his rank and outright overwhelming those of lower ranks in terms of speed.

SHOMEI・署名 - SENSOR TYPE 
Lighting is a crucial part of any play. Identifying the actors and drawing focus to them in the dark. With much training Uemon has become a Sensor Type, able to detect and hone in on chakra signatures akin to a sixth sense of sorts. A useful tool when it comes to tracking or surveillance. As of now, he is capable of passively sensing chakra up to one hundred meters from his body, or one kilometer if actively searching. This also allows him to more efficiently utilize his puppets without needing a direct line of sight to his targets. Knowing the placement of actors on stage at all times is essential.

Everything was going wrong.

Fuu’s attempted escape would prove successful, her Shunshin allowing the Tanjo warrior to evade both Ryoko’s ranged cut and the Ishi-nin’s barrage of blows. It also came with an unexpected benefit, as the Onne-musha’s Saber jutsu plowed into her ally, carving a deep trench along his entire torso, opening up his body from hip to shoulder in a deep red line that gushed blood and guts. He wasn’t dead (yet), but with that kind of wound he certainly wasn’t about to do any fighting, and quickly fell through the forest, crashing into tree branches and slamming into the ground with a thud.

As for Fuu’s scream, it caught the vast majority of people around her- including, unfortunately, her own ally, the scream echoing across the river and forcing everyone to clench tight on their ears, now unable to hear anything but a shrill, painful ringing. This allowed the Onigo woman to close the gap, crossing the river and putting her in range for a follow up jutsu, whatever it might be.

Meanwhile, with Ryoko, the Onna-musha found her technique to be less effective than she had hoped; though it had cut a wide swath of destruction through the forest, it simply hadn’t been enough to catch the disguised man, and as a result she took a defensive stance, not attacking but waiting for her foe to come to her- which he would have to do at some point, even if he did have some odd familiars helping him out.

This stationary tactic would soon cost the woman, as explosions echoed from across the river, Uemon’s rabbits having gone unnoticed in the chaos; and as the fireballs rocked the caravan guards, incinerating two and concussion a third, the five hidden Ishi-nin moved, their ears ringing as they stumbled towards Fuu, acting for all the world like injured civilians desperate to get away from the carnage… only for a massive brute of a man to charge at the Onigo woman, ax in both hands as he swung it down at her neck, bellowing with rage.

It would appear that everything was going according to plan she managed to escape and get a degree of distance...however as she did so unbeknownst to her she had also invertedly effected Uemon as well. But that wasn't her priority at the moment and she needed to make certain she could take out the shinobi she was after they were disguised as civilian's it would seem but thanks to Fudo's heads up she knew the truth for the most part.

Thankfully her ally would provide her with some aid in the form of a small rabbit that would reach its way over and denote taking down some of the individuals that she had come to take on, As they all stood their ears ringing Fuu would craft a series of three clones to take on each of the men charging them and wrapping themselves around their bodies in an effort to suffocate each one.

However as Fuu herself was directly attacked she recognized the axe immediately. "Kazama...?" as he came towards her seeing him again would incur frustration and she would charge forward and would bulldoze him over ramming into his body with her hardened gummy form in an effort to knock the wind out of him. "Go home Kazama...I won't say it again..." she'd say her words becoming a bit labored that moment of frustration at seeing him causing her to lose some of her sensibilities.

As this would go on Fuu's clones would attempt to suffocate the men who were stumbling across the waters, Fuu would notice how one of them would seemingly be stumbling and had hopefully been firmly ensnared if so Fuu would charge over and punt the mans head to try and completely keep him out of the fight.

The Kage Bunshin technique evenly distributes your chakra between one or more clones with form and substance.

The clones created by this technique are able to utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows, has all of their special abilities, as well as their kekkei genkai. Typically a clone's equipment doesn't retain any special abilities and the clone itself is dispersed when hit with a single attack or incapacitated, although the clone can also choose to disperse itself or be dispersed by the user.

When the clone finally disperses, any new knowledge it has gained along with it's remaining chakra are passed back to the original ninja and any additional clones.

Once long ago, his master told him that 'In the midst of chaos there is also opportunity'.

In all of his battles nothing else had proven more true and this skirmish was turning out the same. No, things had not gone according to plan. Combat was hectic and with each added foe the chances of deviation grew. And yet...

Slowly but surely the opposition fell to his and Kazama's attacks. Between his wily stratagems and her brute force they were more than holding their own... they were winning. But the job was far from done and their foes were not the only ones suffering from friendly fire. Pain ripped through his head upon hearing that shrill scream. "Fantastic..."

Uemon thought, wincing as all sound faded and he was left with only a dull ringing in his ears. Fortunately he still had his chakra-sensing capabilities to help make up for it, but he had things he wanted to both say to and hear from his target. "This better not last long." Taking a moment to recollect himself, he watched as several trees were felled nearby from the woman's slash technique. At least his assumption about being out of range had been correct. He focused on her signature in his head and knew even without a line of sight that she was holding her ground. "I suppose she wants me to come to her..." He thought to himself as he circled around his makibishi on the ground and heading for a nearby tree. It was the smart thing and probably what he would have done. But... "Not going to happen. We fight on my terms." Not everything was within his control, but he could still help to direct all this madness.

Funneling chakra to the soles of his feet he made his way up the large tree's trunk using the Kinobori no Waza and crouched atop one of its branches. Once more his chakra threads came to life to attach to both of his wolfdogs, and he commanded both to fall back. As they ran In shot a volley of three kunai from her left foreleg near the woman's feet. On impact a hiss would sound out and the explosive tags wrapped around their hilts would detonate. Uemon did not expect her to get caught in the blast, instead he intended to push her further into the woods near him where his makibishi lay scattered on the forest floor. Hopefully to slice into her feet and draw a bit of blood.

Anything to slow down, distract, or otherwise frustrate his opponent. It was all part of the process to throw her off balance. Dark eyes narrowed as he orchestrated his two puppets to retreat away into the underbrush. Uemon just needed her to draw a bit closer to his perch. Once she had... he could finally dispense with this ruse and strike.

Until that happened, he would remain quiet in the treetop and hope that his ploy bore fruit. Kazama was on her own for now but he did his part to soften up the caravan guards. Now? It was time to properly tend to his business.

Fuu’s actions proved to be quite effective in dealing with the disoriented guards, her clones capturing all but one of the men she sent them after and wrapping them up in their arms, slowly crushing the life from their bodies. The one she failed to grab collapsed on his own, a thin piece of shrapnel jutting out of his back, blood pooling in his mouth and out of his wound, showing him to already be dead. As for Kazama, the Tanjo operative charge bore some fruit, as he didn’t expect her to throw her entire body into him, let alone be physically strong enough to stop his swing, knocking his axe from his hand and sending him toppling to the ground.

Unfortunately for Fuu, that was where her luck ran out; undeterred by the blonde woman’s transformation and utterly enraged by her continued interference in his work, the woodcutter stood up and leapt on the Onigo woman from behind, grabbing her in his massive arms while she was distracted by one of the still disoriented "civilians.” His grip was strong, crushingly so, even though her gummy body, and if she didn’t do something she would be crushed in much the same manner as her clones were doing… but she had more to worry about than one angry woodcutter.

The Isshi-nin in front of her, who Kazama had saved from getting punted by his grapple, had recovered enough to form three shaky hand seals, inhaling deeply before he expelled a trio of small, burning balls from his mouth, directly at the ground near Fuu’s feet- if she didn’t escape, they’d detonate, blowing all three of them away in a conflagration of heat and light that few people would ever be able to walk away from.

As for Ryoko, the Onna-musha didn’t simply stand there and wait, not exactly; at the first sign of movement she acted, Fuuton chakra spooling from her blade as she swung it out in a short arc, unleashing a blast of powerful wind that sent the trio of explosive tags careening off course… and not a moment too soon, as they almost instantly exploded, showering dirt and wood everywhere in a spray of fire and shrapnel that had her moving back towards the river, away from her horse and her hidden enemy.

She had an idea of what kind of foe it was she was dealing with, but regardless of the type of fighter the man was, she had no way to defeat him if he kept hiding. Cowardice was an effective tool when you couldn’t fight an opponent directly (she wasn’t fool enough to pretend it wasn’t, unlike some of her family), but that sword cut both ways. If her foe wouldn’t come out to fight, then he wouldn’t exactly be in a good position to react if she moved to take out his ally, either. Which is exactly what she did, Fuuton chakra bursting from her feet as she surged away from Uemon and towards Fuu, sword held at her side as another explosion engulfed the caravan, this time much closer than before.

Should anyone or anything follow after her, Ryoko was ready, Fuuton chakra surging through her blade and elongating to almost double its natural length, her senses sharp and focused on the forest around her. If anything made a sound, she would hear it- and know exactly where to strike.

DESCRIPTION: An advanced version of the regular Gōkakyū no Jutsu, after three hand-seals the user will generate a small compressed sphere (4 inches in diameter) of Katon chakra. They will shoot this ball out of their mouth at high speeds, covering thirty meters in a three seconds. Once it comes in contact with something, the ball will release it's fire, creating a concussive blast of Katon that can tear through stone. It is highly effective against a single or small group of opponents, capable of not only burning them but tearing flesh and bone apart from the blast. These can be fired off in quick succession, making it quite the formidable Technique, but it does increase the chakra usage.
