Immortal Machine: Initiation

Event Introduction

An emergency line wasn't something typically used, so when Ishigakure would reach out to Iwagakure, Takara knew it was serious. A foreign enemy unearthed of a puppet or at least non-human nature. The information wasn't too much to work off, but their were coordinates for Iwagakure to meet up with Ishigakure forces. A location to which it was expected there'd be combat, due to that Takra would quickly call upon what active shinobi she could. Including one of her own body guards, she cared too much about her ally to risk under preparing her response.

Summoned to the front gate of Iwagakure, Takara awaited the shinobi's arrival. She stood sword drawn in a guards stance, as she'd acted like a statue of fortitude awaiting those called. Once a sizeable group had arrived, she'd give her best consideration over who she could send out. Taking a deep breath before speaking out loudly for all to hear, "We've been called to aid by our Ishigakure allies. They've warned us of a threat to both them and us, a place at our borders has discovered an unknown threat. They've been described in a report as machine or puppet like. This enemy isn't to be underestimated and your goal is simple. Eliminate them at all costs and leave no chance any survived."

"If civilians or our allies are at risk, we will be judged severely for failing to aid them." A clear secondary sentiment, but not distinctly stated as a secondary goal. It was expected to be treated with equal importance, though it'd be a lie to say it was the primary object. Her eyes scanning the small crowd of skilled shinobi, as she'd assure their understanding and confirm in her mind the assignment would be done properly.

"To assure this missions success, I will be splitting you into two teams. An advancing squad who'll push relentless against the foe and a supporting team to assure their success and everyone's safety." She'd pause briefly for everyone's confirmed attention, as well as allow any stragglers to the meeting to arrive. "Tantetsu Tsusho and Kita Isamu step forward!" She'd call out loudly, as they'd take the front two genin would step up to them handing them a scroll. Each it'd contain the coordinates of the location, as well as those they'd correspond with from Ishigakure and a very brief description of the threat at hand.

"Tantetsu Tsusho, you'll be leading the advancing squad including Okada Taki, Tantetsu Morihito, Okada Tetsuo and Nohime Ouritsu. This means Okada Himari, Tantetsu Souma and Aihara Ryoko will be under you Isamu in the support team." She'd finish her sentence with a slight squint at the ANBU operative. He'd seem to have an extra article with him, but with it upon him and them being the supporting party. She'd ignore the fact an academy student were among their roster. Any advantage to the mission would be good and the Ha boosted to be immortal and of an unworldly durability. It was a calculated risk, she'd be willing to take. A slight nod of acceptance given to the man if he noticed her queer look.

"Our ally and the innocent have waited long enough, to the battle post haste!" Takara would declare, as she'd raise her sword and point out of the village in the direction they'd all be going. Under her breath, she'd state a prayer to the shinobi as they passed. Understanding very few held any sort of religious sentiment in Iwagakure, it was mostly a blessing to make her feel better. "May the light guide and protect you in battle, as you commit to joyous cooperation in combat."

OOC Notes: Ha Moriko is considered as equipment for the purpose of this event. I'm sorry to force a narrative upon Toff e and Kitarel, but please just stick to it for the purpose of my approval OOC to this IC happenstance. You guys can start with training together when called or whatever you feel works best, but for everyone else's sanity it'll be unknown most likely to the rest an Academy student is among you.

Last Minute Purchases: Any purchases posted before end of Dec 4th 23:59:59EST will be considered valid for the event even if approved at a later time.

Posting Order: At some point I do plan to split the teams into separate threads. If you'd rather setup posting order then, I am fine with that, but I ask you decide that among yourselves after the first round of posting.

Initial Post: A brief of where you were and whether you grabbed anything extra prior to heading to this IC announcement, then follow up with any and if possible all pre-planning to how you'll best function as a team. If you cannot agree upon things, then understand Kitarel and Sprinkles are the IC deciders of their squads. Any acting out from their orders will be held against you and not them, though any orders they give that're just bad or don't play out, will be held against them and not you.

Event Rank: Due to full sign-ups and mostly special jounin up, this'll be the A-rank version of the event expect your opponents and challenges to be difficult.

Posting Time Vote: If possible please include in your post a vote for whether 72hrs is after the last poster or if it'll be after my post. I don't care which way we go, I also am totally fine with allowing extensions, as well as expect their to be an expected one for the coming holidays.

Final Note: Everyone please have fun, if you're having any concerns or feel underwhelmed, then please let me know. I'll do my best to make this a fun and difficult experience without being unfair.

Missions, training, the odd job here and there made up the bulk of a shinobi's career and dispersed in between was the occasional off day that one was supposed to be free to spend how they pleased. Ouritsu was doing just that when the emergency summons for available shinobi came through. A good part of him wanted to let others handle whatever the situation was but depending on what said emergency was there was a chance that he'd be able to visit someplace new or flex his abilities; after all the only way he was going to get past chunin was showing the powers at be that he was strong enough to take that next step.

"Well hopefully they'll give me an off day after this..." The Nohime mused to himself as he hurried himself back home to quickly prepare his equipment. Thankfully he didn't have much in the way of stuff outside of traditional munitions so after a quick count the young man made a bee-line for the village gates. By the time he arrived there would already be someone waiting, none other than the Tsuchikage herself Takara. Ouritsu wasn't all that pleased to see her face but it'd be in poor taste to turn tail after he had probably already been seen. There were some other familiar faces and others that the chunin wouldn't have been able to guess their name in a hundred years but what they all had in common was answering the call for help.

Eventually the Tsuchikage would begin to speak and lay out the situation to the assembled group: the allied village of Ishigakure had called for help handling a mostly unknown threat. Hearing that whatever this enemy was ventured into the realm of machines or puppets was interesting, but regardless of what form they took the goal was clear: take 'em all out, and that much Ouritsu understood.

The group would then be split into two smaller squads: one that would do the bulk of the assault and another that would support the first and ensure safety for those who may have been caught in the crossfire. Hearing his name be called as part of the advancing squad admittedly brought the shinobi a bit of joy and he did his best to stifle a smirk. Ouritsu held a complicated line of thinking when it came to the village as after all this time he still was not happy with how they had treated his family, but this was his home and he would come to its --or in this case, its allies-- aid if need be. With instructions given and a charge to get the ball rolling the Nohime would move out with the rest of the group towards their destination awaiting any further instruction from those placed in charge.

Souma had been in the process of scrubbing down after a surgical session when the word arrived that there was muster being called to respond to an immediate danger. She'd given a brisk nod to the messenger, moved to trade the surgeon's scrubs for her clan's heavy armor, and collected her comparatively light set of medical kit before heading off to report to the gate.

As she arrived, Souma immediately gravitated towards the Okada and Tantetsu in the group; Taki first, and leaning towards her clanmates besides, out of familiarity and comfort.

That, ultimately, turned out to be counterproductive.

Souma's entire clan was assigned to the assault team besides herself, and her girlfriend, besides, leaving her with a couple people she WAS familiar with under the command of someone she was NOT. That didn't make Kita Isamu any less capable, but it did mean Souma was left with a faint frown.

With Takara leaving no room to ask her questions, Souma turned to face Isamu instead. "I am not entirely clear on the targets I ought to be prioritizing as the only member of the medical team on the expedition. Should I be focusing on establishing a triage camp back from active lines in order to aid as many civilians as possible, or preparing a defensible forward area to receive any members of the advance squad forced to fall back for treatment?"

[Kita Isamu]

If there was one thing Isamu spent a lot of time doing outside of missions, it was practice. He wanted to be strong, to be the best he could be, and practice was the only real road to greatness. If he didn’t have a solid foundation, the rest of his abilities would be worthless. Too many shinobi neglected their basics. He wasn’t one of them. Today’s practice was more simple seals, things that he hardly even had to think to do at this point. Lower ranked seals were something he could do in his sleep. However, he still worked on them.

However, his basics had to be abandoned rather quickly, when a missive arrived in the form of a summons to the gate. Standing, he stretched his long limbs out and gathered his things. Most of his equipment was already stored in his body seals, but he carefully put away his brushes, ink, and blank sealing tags with the rest of them. He didn’t bother pulling out his ANBU gear, a black ops mission wouldn’t be meeting at the gate. He would be operating in his capacity as Jounin Isamu Kita, not as Agent Yokai.

There was still one thing he had to grab before leaving, though. Making his way to the Ha compound first, there was a certain student he’d been getting to know whose weapon form proved decidedly useful on missions. Asking for Moriko, it wasn’t long before he’d be able to ask her the question he’d come to ask in the first place. ”Hey kid, there seems to be a big mission going down, you in?” he asked, no preamble. There wasn’t really time to get into pleasantries, and he doubted the kid would even care if he was a little rude. His forehead protector was visible, worn around his neck instead of the classic spot on his forehead.

If she accepted joining him, he’d wait patiently for her return to her weapon form so that her cloak could be carefully equipped. At this point, he left the compound, headed towards the gates at a quick, but still rather steady pace. There was a huge crowd gathered at the gates on his arrival, at the head of which was the Tsuchikage herself. His eyebrows seemed to migrate higher and higher up his forehead as she spoke, but he stepped forward when she called, nonetheless. He accepted the scroll offered by the genin, noticing the look Takara cast him. She knew, but she seemed fine with it. That was all that really mattered.

The fact that he was on the support squad would probably be more irritating if his most and least favorite Okada wasn’t on the other squad. As such, he kept his mouth shut and accepted his position with a dip of his head. Leading a squad wasn’t particularly new to the ANBU agent, and he could easily accept responsibility for this team. Pondering, he waited for his teammates to step fowards to join him.

[Okada Himari]

InitiationImmortal Machine Reckon they'll let ya know sug...ain't nothin to sweat bout just yet..."" Himari would attempt to reassure Souma that the chain of command at least had some idea of what they would want for their only medic, though in truth, she wasn't confident either. The fact was, she had never met Isamu before and this would be the first time she had worked with him on a team. Still, this was a day of first for everything considering. It was actually a bit historical in a sense. With what the Tsuchikage had told them, they were dealing with Shippai, or something close to em. They were known for being machines constructs of sorts, and had faced off against Iwagakure in the past. Still, they had fallen much like Sunagakure did then. So a chance to face off against an old enemy in foreign lands close to the border was a bit exciting. Though, she was old enough to know not to let that be her drive in this, as the focus was to aid civilians and their allies from Ishigakure. There was also another element she had to watch out for.. Looking toward Taki, the young woman would hold a serious expression as she was aware that they would not be on the same squad. In fact, the young girl would be with the assault team. It wasn't ideal in her mind, but she was far more powerful and a sage so it made sense to keep her up front. That didn't make her worry any less for her cousin, but that was natural for her. In passing Souma upon speaking to her, she'd then make her way over to Taki with a calm expression. "Don't do nothin crazy out there alright? I ain't keen on ya ma chewin me out..." With a wink, she'd them smile as she nodded to her before patting her back pocket as it held her lucky cap. From there, she'd begin to make her way over toward Isamu, releasing a breath before then taking her place with the rest of the support team. SPOILER: Click to show I vote for 72 hours for posting time also -Jutsu Used- -S.A Used- Show-Stopper Himari begun her career as an underdog, underestimated by many of her opponents within the ring due to her size. Yet, in spite of this, she would always come up with a way to win in the end, despite being at the disadvantage. This has much to do with her reflexes, capable of moving around her targets attempts and finding the openings she needs to take them down. More often than not, this serves as her means of protection in it being difficult to hit a someone that you can't accurately engage against. Though it operates on her instincts, it can be unreliable in some situations. Especially if Himari has not been able to figure out the exact anatomy of her opponent. Heart of a Champion During her run within the OWA, Himari would train constantly to build up her strength and stamina. She would need both in order to complete the various techniques that were involved in her style of wrestling. As such, strength training was key in her mind as she came up with an arrangement in order to continue to build upon those foundations taught to her. While she is indeed smaller than most of the people she encounters, her size does no more than give her the appearance of being less powerful than she is. Her ability to sustain stronger grapples upon her opponents is increase through this advantage, as well as the impact of her physical attacks. Legacy of a Champion Okada Riku was known throughout the world for her speed and agility when she was in the ring. Such is reflected upon her continue run until her retirement. This trait has been passed down by to her daughter as Himari has displayed incredible speed. This has only increased over the years, alongside her training with both her mother and other shinobi. She can move swiftly across the field with little issue, using her agile footwork to get in close on a target before they can even realize it. Excelling at this, she focuses on being evasive with this ability as well, allowing for her to be just as proactive in getting in, as well not getting hit in the process. Keen Eye After leaving the life of a performer, Himari was given the opportunity to help development the next generation of wrestlers for the OWA. This required that she further study the methods and means in which to help others increase their potential safely without causing injury to themselves. In doing this, she learned about the human body, as well as points upon which one could take advantage of a target and weaken them. While this was a skill she had learned through her career, she further used this knowledge to be more accurate of calculating strategies when dealing with opposition, as well as certain situations that required a keen insight into the anatomy of an individual. This insight also allows for Himari to properly control her own chakra with knowledge of her own limited and accessible supply.

BRY of W&&R and CAUTION

    There was a loud knock on the front door of Tsusho's home, one unfortunately at the time drowned out completely by loud hammers sounds in the near sound proof room he used as a personal workshop for his puppets. It wasn't the main place he normally preferred working, especially on some of his larger puppets that simply wouldn't fit in his home, but this didn't need a lot of work or all the tools of a bigger workshop. Each knock was near perfectly timed with an echoing hammer strike, as he was trying to push a piece into place after replacing the rotating mechanism inside his pack puppet, finally getting it right and dropping a heavy tool just as the third heavy knock was made, causing him to miss it.

    Walking from the back he sighed heavily as he walked into the main room, now hearing what sounded like a near angry knock and someone calling out for him, as he moved swiftly for the door and swung it open. It was quickly explained, though in surprising detail for as fast as the messenger was speaking, he was being summoned to the front gate. The details were sparse, likely for good reason, which meant this was no doubt important, and with little more than a nod in response he turned and rushed to the back again, leaving the door wide opened. There was a scramble for his belt, his pouches, his hooded jacket, making sure he had everything where it was supposed to be. Finally grabbing his large pack he had just finished fixing, he slammed the top door shut and made sure it was strapped tightly to his body before rushing out the front door, using a stray puppet string to throw his door shut and move for the front gate as instructed.

    He hadn't gotten there near as fast as he had assumed, already seeing a small group forming, and a few others arriving just after he did, mostly those he didn't have a lot of contact with, but some of his own clan standing around as well. Everyone was focused on one person in particular; Yutakako Takara, the Tsuchikage. The seriousness of the situation clicked before she ever uttered a word, and when it seemed all that were going to arrive had, she started to speak. It was impossible not to let a grin form across his face, larger than normal anyways, at the mention of machines or puppet like enemies, immediately taking a step forward from sheer interest.

    Before he had even intended to, his feet were moving and he had stepped forward at her command, taking grasp of a scroll being handed towards him, but first looking to the side at the other who had been called out. His head raised a bit higher as Takara stated he'd be leading a team, finally opening the scroll as she did, taking a look over the contents, but turning around to face both her and the others.

"Advanced squad, I like the sounds of that. Advanced Squad, nice."

    The idea of leading a team wasn't a foreign one, as he was technically in place to lead an operations team currently, though unlike this specific mission, his operations team had not been fully formed or fully filled member wise. He had lead missions before however, just not with any of those currently standing here. Most were unfamiliar to him on a personal level, but all but one he was aware of as he had a fondness for the Okada clan, and Morihito was a fellow Tantetsu, but he wasn't too familiar with Ouritsu.

"Advanced Squad, on me. None of that forming lines, just stay close enough you can hear my voice clearly."

    He made a point to wait till everyone was gathered up and motioned with his head in the direction they were traveling. Having an idea of where they were headed already, given how often he left the village and traveled.

"Before we leave, you heard from the Tsuchikage and what our mission is. This is serious and you need to stay focused. Watch each other and take care of your team members. With that out of the way, Morihito you are my second for this squad. If the worst case happens and I'm taken out, you will be the team leader."

    Taking the still opened scroll, he tossed it over to Morihito, and nodded.

"That scroll has the location where we are headed, who we are looking for when we get there if I understand correctly, as well as a description of likely what we are walking into. If anyone needs to look it over, do so and make sure Morihito has it back in his hands."

    Giving a loud clap, slightly muffled by his bandaged hands, his motions and sets off at a walk for now so he can talk before they move with a faster pace.

"I already know what most of you can do, so let's keep it simple. Ouritsu, you'll be in a position of range and support, so stay back from the enemies when possible. You know your own limits, but don't stray from the group far. Taki, you'll be in an mid point position with Tetsuo. You are a melee fighter, but I need you to stay in proximity of Tetsuo in case they need back up. Tetsuo you are also an active fighter but try and support Taki so there is no friendly fire. We are a group but I'd like you two working as a pair when combat kicks off. I'll be trying to keep the enemies attention with my puppets. Morihito I'd like you to keep an eye on Ouritsu, as my attention will be divided far too much to easily to do so myself. Otherwise, you'll also be in a more mid point position. My puppets can absorb a lot of the front line attention, so don't feel you need to take unnecessary blows. If you have questions, reservations, or suggestions, now would be the time to bring them up."

[Okada Tetsuo]

Okada Tetsuo

As the only currently active duty officer of the Bakuha Gundan, when the call for shinobi came out it inevitably reached him. A slight sigh, a finished line on the seal he was forming, and the young Okada made his way to his equipment, his Flak Jacket slipped around his slim torso before being partially covered by his jacket, his ENES firmly in place over his eye, and his usual kit strapped carefully to his body. Beyond that, the young Tokubetsu Jounin also picked up one of the 'ready bag' satchels brimming with additional explosive devices just to be on the safe side.

With that all done, he was out and heading towards the gate without a word, too busy trying to figure out what was going on.

That the Tsuchikage was waiting for him at the gate was somewhat a surprise, along with the rather large strike force being gathered. It was something serious it seemed, and what Takara-sama had to say only proved that point. The smallest Okada present was silent as he listened to the instructions and gathered with what was to be the assault team.

It was only once the offer to let anyone read the scroll was made that he walked forward and held his hand out towards the much larger man with the info, the small blond taking it as soon as he could to scan the details, committing everything to memory the best he could. He wanted to make sure he wasn't going in blind after all, the more he knew the better he would be able to do his job.

Handing the scroll back to Morihito once he was done, Tetsuo would wander over to where Taki was standing and cross his arms over his chest, waiting for the order to head out. This was likely to be a tricky mission, and he wasn't quite sure how well he and his cousin would synergise in combat. Hopefully better than he suspected.

[aihara ryoko]

Up in a tree Ryoko was not so obvious as the others milling about on the ground. She had been among the first to arrive in the form of a hawk, and spent time in that shape watching her Kage do the mannequin challenge. It was admirable how she maintained her stoic exterior while Iwa forces gathered.

It was kinda cute. While she watched the kage she also watched the crowd, familiar faces all getting cheesy smiles and energetic waves hello. Taki especially was given a wave, a laugh, and something of a knowing grin. While she wasn’t the only familiar face, the Okada was one of Ryo’s longer standing friends.

Once the crowd had gathered and lady Takara was briefly briefing them on their mission, Ryoko would finally drop down from the tree she’d landed in and join the rest of her comrades. Smiles offered all around, she was a different girl than usual. Not quite so brash or annoying as she is known to be. While in her personal life Ryoko was an annoyance, when on the clock she was far more professional.

Her eyes travel around, flicking over to the mentioned people in turn. Her passive smile turns into something of a smirk when she is assigned to the support team.

"Aww man, I wanted to break stuff.” She mutters some under her breath, though turns her eyes to Isamu. A somewhat familiar face, though she’d never mention why. While being ANBU wasn’t the most secret thing ever, she still preferred to keep her membership on the down low. Most knew her to be an annoyance, but few knew the full extent of her many talents.

Apparently even the Tsuchikage. Though, maybe Iwa’s telekinetic wonder nin was placed on the support team just to keep them safe. Yeah, that had to be it. Someone had to protect the support side.

The doomstar, massive steel shuriken that it was, lingers ever behind her, floating patiently and silently as she waits for team lead to provide guidance. Her attention drifts over to Souma as she waits, and the medic is given a bit of a grin. Not unknown, she thought back on the odd conversation they’d had in the past. Far as nerdy medics go, Souma was alright.

[Tantetsu Morihito]

Morihito would be in his office when he would receive a notice to meet about a mission with the kage. This was supposed to be a very important and big mission with a lot of moving parts in it. He would head and see the large group that he would be with. He would see a lot of familiar faces there whether it was some of his family or other people he may have worked out with. He was ready to see what they had in store for this. He would find out he was with his cousin, Tsusho. He did not know too much about him but was excited to see him out and about. He would be put in the advanced team who would be doing the direct attacking. His cousin would be put in charge and would say that Morihito would be second in command. "I will take that responsibility seriously and try to be the best defense for you All that I can be. I will try to help in any way that I can. I will build any walls or shields needed and anyone can come to me to get away for a little to heal up or take any medicines needed” Then he would be handed a scroll and he of coarse would open it and read it Tom himself and see that they would be hunting down what seemed to be described as golems or puppets as some sort there was no real description of weapons but they are made of metal and probably not sentient because it seems to be attacking indiscriminately. He would acknowledge kind of his role he was half listening but he heard he would be in the mid guards and to help Ouritsu he was trying to read the map given including some of the topographical map and how close it was the village and he would say "we probably need to head out sooner rather then later if we want to prevent any sort of catastrophic event from happening.”

Taki "Bakudan" Okada

Taki had received a message from the ANBU denoting the presence of the sage was needed. Knowing it was serious she'd let her kids know she was going on a trip and arrived with Fudo and Aki in tow along with a pair of headphones for the long walk. Upon arriving the girl would notice that everyone had arrived at the same time as she did Souma a beauty of a sight would put the girl at ease. She'd lower down her sunglasses and smile to her, along with giving her hand a squeeze before giving a hi five to Ryoko.

She'd also give a wave to Oiritsu just as well, lowering down her headphones as she listen to Lady Takara's speech she was told that she'd be on the assault team but wouldn't be working with her lady love or her best buddy. "Aww well what the actual fuu--" she'd be told what team she'd be working with and was familiar with Oiritsu and had heard of Morihito but not Tsusho, at least she had her cousin she could rely on.

She was said to be in the middle position of their attack squad guarding her cousin. She'd push her shades back up on her face hiding her blue eyes. "Normally I'd say put me out front but someone's gotta take care o Tetsuo ere..." She'd say wrapping her arm around her older cousin, as this went on however she'd look towards her small chimp companion.

"You know what to do."/font] the small chimp would nod and scurry his way towards the center of her back tucked behind her jacket and grasping hold of her and preparing to gather senjutsu chakra on her behalf."And don't worry I ain’t pushing ya this time." Fudo her larger ape would glare at her. "And hey just saying...I need time to do what I gotta so if any of you can buy me some when I ask for it...I'd appreciate dat." the girl would say.

"Alright let's go too it!" The girl would say as she and her creatures would head forward. "Also lemme get eyes on dat scroll." She'd say wanting to take a peek as they shoved off.

During Taki's training she learns that she has a significant amount of energy and after graduating to the rank of genin she began to learn how to properly make use of them under the tutelage of Midori Chizawa. Moriko had been practicing her clone again when she had been called by her mother to the door. She had been practicing with Papa again and it showed as she walked outside to see the massive indents that her father left in the earth - a hammer-type Katachi Ha himself, though he often acted more like a Dansetsu in many ways seeing as he prefered to stay transformed. That was just how her household was though. Having walked out Momo had been greated with the inky guy with vague moral boundaries she had met more recently. He was no Sumire and probably wasn't going to be someone she tried to be around a lot, but he tended to give out free hugs! Free hugs were still pretty good.

As he asked if she wanted to basically skip out on a dangerous roadtrip the tanuki-girl's eyes practically turned into stars as the bright sheen of wanderlust took over and she nodded vigorously as she smiled and leaped out at him, poofing into a cloak as soon as she made contact to his skin. Wrapping around him in a drapping fashion she would manipulate the claws to carry the scarf around his neck with some amount of slack for the claws to hang. Utilizing the last of this burst of Bunraku to give the man a thumbs up.

And then they were off, briefed, and Moriko couldn't help but internally squeal as she watched the shinobi around her coverse, break apart into their groups and begin the journey to handle their missions. Was this what jounin teams were like? Momo was practically thrashing within her soulspace for them to move faster, her cloak billowing wildly below her.

Coordination and Coordinates

Exiting Iwagakure and heading south, the most opportune route to their destination would be via the grand highway. They'd hop of the multifunction road and wall about halfway to Chizen from Shijima, which would already have them relatively close to the coordinates. The question though would be how hard did the two teams attempt to reach the destination quickly? Due to the urgency it'd be fair if they hightailed the distance or if they went at simply a reasonable pace. Ishigakure already had shinobi at the fray, but had they held out and how long would they hold out?

The teams could act independently, especially as they'd had slightly different purposes. The advancing team even given an extra shinobi to bring the fight. Overexerting oneself to arrive quicker would almost shaving off a possible two hours travel time. Though it'd cost them in stamina (medium chakra cost), as well as inflict mild strain on their body(a single use of Shunshin no Jutsu [Body Flicker Technique] at no cost. If a character lacks Body Flicker they'll instead pay an additional low cost). This decision will greatly effect the below values meaning

Out of sight from Tsuchi no Kuni's grand highway, it'd be impossible to know the exact state of things. As the teams got closer to the coordinates, a clear smell of blood, ash and burnt metal could be perceived by the shinobi. The rocky terrain would stop anything visually seen, though the clashing of steel and the stomping of something quite massive could be heard just over the next hill where they're supposed to be meeting up with Ishigakure's forces.

    The initial information was conveyed with no arguments that he was aware of, everyone that wanted to look at the information scroll seemed to, and the advancing team was well on their way. As the others talked among themselves Tsusho was quiet, to the point of not saying a single thing for quite some time, before turning to look back at Morihito and making a motion to grab his attention.

"Keep the group moving at this pace. I need to break off for a moment and relay a message to Isamu. I'll be right back."

    Looking back at the others, he suddenly dashed off to the right side towards where the support team had been moving together. They weren't moving as a complete separate unit yet as they were all going to the same location, so catching them in mid run was easy enough to manage for now. As he came upon the group he called out just to make sure his presence was known, as he could assume some might be jumpy given the severity of the mission and potential worry about ambush, before running beside Isamu.

"Not all of my team can rush in quite as fast as others, and Taki needs just a bit more time to prepare before we start the fight, so there is a realistic chance you guys get there before all of us. Do what you can, and when we arrive we'll immediately take over from there in combat if you are directly engaged before we arrive."

    Waiting a few moments just in case they had anything to say in response, then left immediately and headed back to his own group. Much like with the support team, he made his presence known before moving back to the front of the group and gave a nod towards Morihito.

"Alright everyone listen up, we will be keeping this pace. Taki if you aren't ready when we arrive, don't force getting immediately involved and I'll buy the extra time you might need. I relayed a message to the other team that they are likely to arrive before us given this pace, as not to rush into the fight. Once we arrive, be mentally prepared to immediately engage, and I do mean and stress immediately. Do what you can if there are any of our shinobi in trouble or any of those we are headed to help. From there, try and move into the positions I suggested earlier and know there's a high chance things will change depending on the fight. Do what you need to do to get yourself mentally ready."

The Advancing Squad is choosing not to rush and risk overexerting themselves

Once he’d finished pondering, he turned to Souma, having decided on a course of action. ”We’re going to wait, and observe. If it’s particularly bad, you can set up a trauma tent- I even have an actual tent you can use. If the injuries aren’t anything that’s lethal or permanently crippling, you stay with the team. Now, fall in! I want us to get there as fast as possible, so Shunshin if you can. If you can’t, max speed. We can afford to get there faster and get a base of operations set up.” he finally responded, looking over his team members.

Then, the captain of the other team- Tsusho, approached them to deliver a message. Smirking, Isamu’s reply was fairly straightforward. ”I thought my team was meant to be the supports. But, I suppose we can’t all have the luxury of being a well rounded and well prepared team,” he taunted, though he moved into formation with his squad members.

Addressing the girls once more, he made a final comment before their journey began. ”I will being taking the position of rear guard. I know normally the team leader would be in the front, but this attack feels off. I have a pretty wide range for my sensory, so I’ll be able to detect ambushes, hopefully.”

He would not take any further questions or complaints past this point, instead urging his teammates into a brutal but rather efficient pacing that would be able to shave a fair chunk of time off their total travel time. The attack was something that set off every single one of Isamu’s instincts that something wasn’t right here. And the reports of how the enemy moved were especially worrying. He didn’t necessarily care about this tiny allied village, but it was his job to help, as ordered by his kage, and by god was he going to do it. Maybe with some luck they’d be done before the so called "advance” team arrived. He doubted that, but a man could always dream.

Ryoko watches the minor chaos of organizing such a sudden assault mission with a little smirk, remaining quiet to not add to the chaos herself. Brash as she often was, this was business, and so Ryoko would approach it professionally.

She listens, smirks, shakes her head some, and falls in with the group she was assigned too. Of course, the tiny chuunin was not really set up for running so fast as some of the others. She was agile, sure, and could keep up with a normal pace, but she had no desire to run. At least not as a human. She could have picked an animal shape, but eh..

"Alright, get there fast. Sure sure.” She mutters to her traveling group, her left hand flicking easily through a few hand seals. She leaps as she finishes her jutsu, rising up a few meters but not coming back down. Her speed flags for a moment, the weightless girl hitting wind resistance, but only for a moment.

Her grin grows wider as she charges chakra down into her feet and into her hands. Blazing hot flames suddenly burst from those extremities, each one narrowing into a focused jet. With a whooshing hiss, Ryoko is gone. Streaking like a blazing comet she flies well ahead of the group, racing her way towards the operations zone and gaining some altitude along the way.

Behind her, seemingly desperate to keep up but locked to her with puppet strings, flies her massive shuriken, ready to be put to use when she arrives.

DESCRIPTION:
Functioning similar to the water walking jutsu, this technique allows Ryoko to emit a constant stream of katon chakra from her feet and hands. With her fine control over chakra she compresses the fire as it is formed and shapes it into a number of steady jets. These jets are weak by most standards, but they are designed to be used with neutral buoyancy in air.

The jets she forms create more than enough force to propel Ryoko through the air at impressive speeds. Her maneuverability is also very impressive, her legs and arms acting as vectored jets to let her fly backwards, upside down, sideways, or even just hover in mid-air. She can turn on a dime, spin in very rapid circles, and really move however she likes in three dimensions.

Due to her light weight and the thrust provided by her jets, Ryoko is able to fly about twice as fast as she can run.
