BASIC INFORMATION

NAME: Nakajima Isamu
AGE: 38 43
GENDER: Male
BIRTHDAY: June 21st 980
VILLAGE: Yukigakure
CLAN: Nakajima
RANK: Jounin
POSITION: Clan Head/Genin Team 3 Leader
OTHER ALIAS:

Namahage
-Yukigakure-

Based off of an old folklore tale Isamu has been known by the title of "Namahage", although most won't dare to mention the name to his face. It begun as an joke between his crew, using the absurd folktale to compare his strict nature to the real Namahage. The original Namahage is said to be a towering ogre who punishes idle laggards and even take away misbehaving children. As such it is not hard to see how Isamu's attitude and stature had earned him the name. Even now it is still a light-hearted joke among crew members of the Yukigakure navy, but to kids it is a terrifying title. As far as Isamu is concerned he is not fond of the name and had grown tired of it years ago.

While only the higher-ups of Yuki actually know the identity of such a name the name itself is very popular. Taking on a life of it's on it strikes fear in the hearts of allies and enemies alike. The name originated from a folklore of a figure swaying in the distance, usually seen in fields or out in the middle of the ocean. It's lanky 'limbs', if they could be called that, seem to flap and wave in the wind often mistaken for billowing fabric. Those who venture close enough to witness the true sight of the creature and be unfortunate enough to not die are said to be driven mad, left in shambles as they writhe on the ground in uncontrollable laughter.

Even the civilians of Yuki revere the name, unsettled even while protected by it. Oddly enough it has earned a slight cult following among the locals as the mask related to the ANBU operative has integrated with the culture, featuring in several arts and crafts made by the civilians themselves. For Isamu it is a ghost that haunts him. He simply wishes the name would die off entirely, but knows such will not happen. At the very least the Lady herself knows of such a name and the people alike don't seem to be forgetting it anytime soon.

APPEARANCE

HEIGHT: 7'2" (218 cm)
WEIGHT: 340 Ibs (154 kg)

Even a glimpse of Isamu is enough to intimidate most; he stands at an impressive height that would tower over most and is almost as wide as he is tall. His physique stands out even among those of his peers, his muscular build having long breached the boundaries of 'ordinary men', his body as round as a tree trunk. Isamu is a shinobi through and through, the pinnacle of bodily prime even though he has surpassed such an age associate with such a word. Atop the mound of rippling muscle that is Isamu body sits another outstanding feature. Although most would assume his hair white from a distance, especially with all the snow complimenting such a color, it is actually a steely blue hue. These aqua locks are usually well kept and neatly combed back when the situation calls for it. It is not uncommon for Isamu to leave his hair messy at times though, taking on more of an unkempt look to it that altogether usually seems rather presentable with the short hairstyle. His features are unique, having a large forehead and a prominent brow, above a set of piercing hazel eyes, that seems to contort with every emote. This odd features are somewhat put into proportion along with his big ears that frame his somewhat small nose. Below that is his big mouth and stout stone jaw and between the twom more likely than not, two lit cigars are usually housed.

Furthermore, his appearance is not without a few subtle flaws, brought on by the shinobi life style. Firstly, Isamu has been branded with the ANBU tattoo associated with Yuki, it's marking etched onto his right shoulder blade. Beyond that he also holds the scars from years passed with the first being a cross pattern long heals, but still present on his left breast. The other scar is more prominent as it trails from his forehead all the way down and across his right eye to end just below his earlobe.

Being a part of Yukigakure's navy, Isamu almost always prefers to wear his service jacket, the garment being mostly white with green fur lining the neck, wrist and hem. This accent of green has been incorporated into Isamu's jacket personally as to commemorate and honor those of the Council of Green. Besides the overshadowing white of the outfit the sholder pads add a bit more flavor with their golden glow. The inside liner is a dark blue, being both easy on the eyes while giving a call back to the blue flames of his clan. The back of the jacket bares the kanji for 'justice'. Furthermore, while more a personal perk to the jacket than a fashion statement there are also sewn in straps to house spare cigars on the left breast and arm of said jacket, smoking being a habit Isamu had picked up over the years. More eye-catching than all of that though is the nature in which he wears the jacket; leaving it open as to expose his abs, while only wearing a matching set of dark blue pants with a brown belt. A large pair of brown leather boots leave thawing ice and warm earth in his path. His clan's hijutsu provided him enough heat for such a ridiculously out of place outfit in Yukigakure, but he reasonably still draws eyes with his fashion choices. One thing that surprisingly doesn't attract attention though, are the two mechanical arms that he now has. The prosthesis, a result of Son Goku's rampage, are neatly tucked away under Isamu's long sleeves and black gloves. To most they would seem like normal arms, but upon contact they are hard and cold, directly contradicting the rest of his fiery form.

PERSONALITY

NINDO: "My flame burns twice as bright and twice as long!"

"I'm Nakajima Isamu; holder of the White Flame!"

As a member of the Nakajima, it's head in fact, Isamu is proud of his hijutsu skills. As for his clan as a whole, he does so with a lesser degree of importance. While he might care about the honor and prestige of the Nakajima he isn't that enthraled in it's ideology and simply is a part of the clan itself. He sees most as just other users and actually views most other white flames with disdain because of the arrogance they are associated with, even if he is a bit hypocritical in the matter. He does, however, value the council and sees them as a wise group of elders who more than not guide the clan to success. As such this can be further supported by the fact he wears the color green to honor them. Although, at the same time he even sees the council as below him and figures as clan he holds ultimate control.

"Just stay the hell out of my way!"

Isamu is both arrogant and cocky. If there is a problem he has always found it easier to get things done himself rather than ask others. While there are things that can be delegated anything important is usually a personal undertaking of Isamu's. The Jounin figures that if he wanted things done right there is no point in stalling and asking others. He is not afraid to dive headfirst into things and do his own 'dirty work'. That being said there is a downfall of this can-do attitude, mainly dealing with failure. If anything goes wrong involving him he is the first to take the blame. After all, he can overcome any obstacle and if he doesn't do so it is purely his own fault, blaming his own efforts for being not enough. This has lead him to often look back at things and think even the inevitable could have been avoided if he only tried harder.

"Son Goku couldn't finish the job, what makes you think you can?"

Isamu is extremely cocky when it comes to his abilities, especially in the midst of battle. As such there are many that he sees as below him and weak. Weakness is the very thing that Isamu despises almost more than the monkey that took his arms. Likewise, he tries to stamp such a thing out of existence entirely, be it helpful or not. This can often be seen in the way he treats those deemed such. If they are his enemy he almost pities them, seeing them as not worth his time and sparing them from combat should they not engage him. If they are his own men he rides their ass until he either breaks them of such a burden or loses hope and simply ignored them. While he would like to see weakness die off Isamu is no fool and knows some are just never going to change. This usually leads to him overlooking such people and preferring blissful ignorance in their situation.

"They're men, not machines."

Although strict on the surface and usually seen as a hard-ass by his men Isamu is honestly rather caring when it comes down to things. He often looks at his men as all valuable assets, while most just see them as grunts; cogs in the machine. This leaves them in a bit of a juxtaposition, often fearing reprimandation, but when it comes to it they realize how understanding Isamu can be. Often, he is not bothered by failure and sees it as a means to improvement. However, repeated failure can quickly see this kind demeanor shift back into bitterness.

"What's a shinobi without his jutsu?"

After his encounter with Son Goku and the loss of both his arms Isamu has begun to doubt himself, even after he got his mechanical replacement arms. Even though he was promised the arms would work 'in theory' it seemed the specification was right. While he can move them and even use taijutsu and bukijutsu he had been struggling with actually maintaining chakra flow to the seals contained within his new limbs and molding chakra at the same time. As such, he is technically able to use chakra with his new arms, but has not been able to master any finer aspects of said jutsu. This has left him with a bitter attitude as all of his actual ninjutsu has seemingly been stripped from him. Now looking at himself as less of a shinobi he has begun to drink more heavily and often disappears with out notice. He may be settling down now, but his self-doubts are still very much present upon his return to his duties.

HISTORY

Humble Beginnings

As the eldest son of a Nakajima couple Isamu's parents always hoped the best for him, praying that their little boy would become at least a green flame. Even if it meant they'd barely get to see him grow they knew his life would be better this way, knowing he'd be guaranteed a position as one of the greats. That all changed the day of his birth though, the couple would enter the Yukigakure hospital a happy smiling couple. However, that would not last long. Alas, their dreams would only seem to die with the realization that Isamu might not even be shinobi material. When he came of age, shortly before being eligible for the academy, Isamu was trained in the ways of his clan. First, he was introduced to the basics of the shinobi arts and actually was a fairly competent fighter. He was quick on his feet and always seemed to bounce back from any bumps or scrapes. His key abilities were those of the more mundane sort, showing promise in both bukijutsu and taijutsu. However, after a short introductory his father deemed it fit to push him further.

Breaking onto the ninjutsu scene it was then that his father began to lose hope. While his chakra nature had been determined to be in line with the clan he couldn't actually perform any ninjutsu. His ability to harness chakra was their, but any attempts always seemed to fizzle and fail. Unbeknownst to all the reason of such was his unnaturally large chakra pool, the sheer power of chakra always seemed to overflow his jutsu and nullify it's effects. As such, his father deemed it too dangerous for the boy to practice the clans hijutsu and stopped all training. From there he would decide enroll the boy into the academy for any further training, believing he had failed the boy and that he would only grow up to be an average shinobi.

However, their dreams would be reignited with the news of their second child being on the way. At the age of 5, Isamu would be blessed with a baby brother named Sekizo, whether he thought so or not. However, what had seemed like a blessing for the family was also a curse.

Isamu's mother, Manami, would suddenly become very weak only two hours into labor; her bright smile fading as her eyes grew hollow. The sudden realization of this would cause staff to panic, rushing his father, Noboru ,out of the room before he even got to see his child. Angry and confused the father would be confronted by the hurried staff, "It's okay, everything will be fine.", that was not the case though. After what seemed like forever the nurses would slowly return to retrieve the man, false smiles accompanied their careful word choice. Presenting the man with a healthy baby boy, it had seemed Sekizo had survived the birth. They could not say the same for Manami, instead they gave their apologize before revealing she had not made it. Likewise, Noboru would accept them with a heavy heart and a soulless, "It's not your fault". This crushing blow would not damper the man's spirit of being a father, but it ultimately left him to carry on the couple's dream alone. The next few years would see him become even more strict in his teachings patterns. Seeming to grow weary of the idea that the academy could prepare his children any better than himself Noboru began trying to shield the brothers rather than let them grow.

An Awakening

Finally enrolling into the academy at the age of 10 Isamu was welcomed with open arms, sure there was the odd glance and whispers, but Isamu didn't understand. To anyone else it was clear the boy was a topic among the other students, a Nakajima that was not only unable to achieve even an average color flame, but couldn't even mold chakra. Remarks repeated in hushed tones by student after student as they cast prying gazes toward the boy. He seemed to be the center of the classes attention, but it never escalated past whispers. Nearing graduation day Isamu had begun to grow tired of the jokes he'd hear traces of, even beginning to hate the other students for them. Who were they to judge him for his ability? He knew full well he could beat any of them without ninjutsu, or at least he thought. One day, after speaking up to one of the other academy boys the two had begun to exchange blows. Isamu throwing the first punch in his rage was rather predictable, causing the other boy to roll against it and cause it to glance. Following up with a hook of his own Isamu was not prepared, tumbling to the ground the boys would begin a grappling match. A desperate headbutt from Isamu would draw first blood moments before their instructor separated the two. Obviously the two blamed each other, resulting in both being suspended for a time.

A wash of emotion would flow over Isamu like a cold shower, rage followed by deep hatred and finally sadness. In the end he was left with a determination. If he couldn't learn at the academy then he would do it himself. Practicing day after day Isamu would not stop until he was completely exhausted, often staggering home before passing out in his bed way hours after nightfall. This pattern would continue for a week, each time Isamu would set out with the same goal of conquering ninjutsu, but never was able to. Instead, he had other results, such as a battle hardened body and further improved physical prowess. Even though he had become better Isamu did not care, in his eyes he was still a failure.

Stepping back into the academy after a long week Isamu would be greeted not by whispers and snickers, but complete silence. It was as if he was being punished not by his instructor this time, but his fellow students. This silence would not bother Isamu as much however, terror instead taking place in his heart as his instructor's words rang out. "Alright class, today we'll be showing how much we've learned. The first category, ninjutsu. I hope we have all been training." Although no glance was shot his way, Isamu was sure the last comment was somehow directed toward him, the 'weak link' of the class. How could it not have been, especially on his first day back? It didn't matter, things were going to be different this time.

One by one, students filed to the front of the classroom at a steady rate. After each performance an evaluating comment would be made by the instructor such as, "Good job", or, "Almost". The classroom had seemed well behaved, quiet even, as the children seemed all either lost in thought or encapsulated by their peers. Then it happened, "Nakajima Isamu", the instructor called, all eyes seemed to shift the boys way. An empty smile was given by the instructor as the other students commented one voice at first, "Yeah, right", then another, "Good luck". A final remark was made, this voice Isamu recognized as the boy who had also just seemed to have returned that day. "You're wasting your time." These remarks only served to fuel the boys silent determination, fingers quickly weaving the hand seals for a basic ninjutsu, Henge no Jutsu, otherwise known as the transformation technique. Sure, it was simple and most even moved past it long ago, showing displays of clones and substitution, but it was somewhere to start.

A puff a smoke would appear, a silence blanketing the room as the student leaned in. They had been taken by surprise as their vision cleared to reveal, nothing. All that remained to show for the jutsu was Isamu himself, complete unchanged as he still held the seal. Pointed fingers and laughs had confirmed the suspicion that the boy had failed yet again. "Nice try," Another boy teased as a glare from the instructor quieted them. The older shinobi had just begun to speak up when Isamu broke the seal, quickly weaving the string of seals once more. Steeling his nerves he calmed himself, eyes closed as he thought back to his training. Every bit of information pooled to the young student's mind. Concentration, that was the one thing he remembered hearing from every teacher. Even his father had started his training with a similar statement. Snickers bubbled up as yet again nothing seemed to happen, although Isamu -deep in thought- had drowned out such noises. Embarrassment took hold on the instructor's face, indirectly able to feel the shame Isamu would have felt if he was paying attention. Quieting the students once more the instructor would begin to move the evaluation along. However, the moment he turned to approach Isamu the instructor was baffled by the results he saw. Suddenly several sparks fizzled along one of the boy's arms, a startled jump would cause him to hesitate, but Isamu recovered his concentration. What was sparks would flare up again before a plump of flames seemed to erupt from Isamu's shoulder, scared by the flames he would panic, hopping about in terror. Even though the flames did no damage their dance was still convincing enough, seeming to fully consume the boys arm in seconds, leaving no visible limb behind.

In his scared state the boy tripped, fumbling onto the floor as the flames in place of his arm waved about, the white fire began to catch fire to all that it cam in contact with. First, a thankfully vacant table followed by the floor before the blaze seemed to consume a small corner of the room. The instructor was in awe rather than a panic, clearly realizing what he was witnessing as he remembered the name he had uttered moments ago. All the other oblivious students fled the area as they dashed for the door, the teacher springing to action as he recovered a distraught Isamu, thankfully he had calmed down and extinguished his flames, his arm seeming to have reformed from the white fire itself. Paniced and afraid a young 13 year old Isamu would be taken from the scene, gathered by a Nakajima who had come on the mention of the power he displayed

New Beginnings

From that day on everything seemed like a blur to Isamu. Displaying the white flame that the Nakajima had been looking ages for the clan was overjoyed. While he was happily welcomed with open arms it did not seem this way to all. For Isamu's father the clan didn't gracefully accept his boy, they ripped him from his arms. It was true he did not resist or even express his pain, being a soft-spoken sort of man. Instead, he simply watched by the sidelines, happily saying his goodbyes and waving to his son. It was because the congratulatory moment that Noboru did not see how different things would be. He figured it would be a slow process of integration, as if he'd see the boy enough to justify the long-distance relationship they would have. That was not the case however, days turned to weeks to months and finally years. The man expected a visit, even a letter, but no such thing came. The disconnect was partially due to Isamu's naive age and partially on behave of the rigorous training he was thrown into. The boy simply did not have the time, or truthfully the knowledge to write his father. Hell, Isamu didn't even know where he would address such a letter if he had actually gotten around to thinking of such. No, it was much more mundane and slow of a process. Isamu's father had finally seen the dream both him and his wife had held come true, but in doing so lost a son they both cherished.

Two years of relatively isolated training seemed to go by so fast, perhaps it was the workload that got to Isamu. Either way it seemed like no time had past at all, what with ninjutsu, bukijutsu and clan work being only a small portion of what he was to be taught. On top of this Isamu was also trained in command, warfare (both land and naval), and even diplomacy. The latter didn't seem to stick, but all of the combat training seemed to quickly kick in. The boy even managed to pick up ninjutsu relatively fast after his confidence was bolstered by his new status, not to mention the plethora of qualified teachers he was assigned to. Even if he were to fail with one he'd quickly be handed off to another of the clan to try their hand at tutoring him. This was the normal for almost all areas of learning, repeating on and on until he was paired with an 'ideal' trainer in each category.

It was after finishing his two years of constant training and clan education that Isamu's father would completely fade out, his silent heartbroken old form giving up. Isamu was not sad though, as he was never informed of his father's passing and would simply continue his 'destiny', or so it was dubbed. From there on out Isamu was deemed fit as the clan heir, but would still continue his training to be such. For the next two years, four in total, his schedule was changed though, taking a focus toward his strong points. That being said his education was heavily geared toward his bukijutsu favoritism while still upholding his ninjutsu session. On top of that however, he was also pushed onto some of the clan's greatest minds in naval combat, it being one of his most successful and favorite subjects. His love for the vast open sea facilitated the fast growth he had experienced in the subject.

Upon finishing his training the young boy Isamu was would begin to mold into a proud young man, but there was still one issue. Although he was deemed worthy by the clan to preform at a Chunin level he never even officially graduated from the academy. There was some hope though, Lady Yuki agreeing to grant him the rank of Advance Genin and place him on a team. It was still below Isamu's skill level, but it was still a lenient compromise.

Cutting It Close

Being a part of a squad was not that easy for Isamu though. He was arrogant and the two shinobi he was assigned to a team with he looked down upon. One being a female sensor who he saw as useless, while the other was a stunningly average boy who focused on ninjutsu for his combat style; both were clanless. Obviously this fact coupled with the young, naive arrogance of Isamu did not clash well. On top of that his status as an 'Advanced' Genin further perpetuated his thoughts of superiority. This attitude caused a divide between the three that only served hindered them, Isamu included.

More often than not Isamu would take it upon himself to uphold his training. Leaving the other two to their own devices while he went through a rigid routine of his own. If anything this did help in some way, allowing Isamu to keep his schedule together as he had grown accustom too. Although, he suffered from lack of cooperation and narrowed his field of potential.

Months would pass with the team going about as their routines had dictated, Isamu training alone while the other two tried to improve together. This would allow the other two to slowly crawl closer to Isamu's caliber, but did not improve the squad as a whole nearly as much. Sure, they went on missions and were a 'team' when they needed to be, but besides missions and training with their Sensei Isamu was absent for most activities; not even bothering to spend his free time with either of them.

In the end, this would serve to hamper them as a whole, but Isamu had little worry. Deemed 'ready' by their Sensei the older man was banking on Isamu's combat prowess to carry them as a whole, the other two hopefully falling in to supplement his front line style. This would work, for a time that is. Passing the written section with flying stripes they were the top scoring squad in the entire exam; the other two being naturally smart shinobi, while Isamu's clan school he disliked so much was to thank for his score.

It was the following tests that would start to see a decline in the squad, their teamwork obviously lacking. At first it was not obvious as light injuries played out. One would get a scratch here, a few bruises, even a few deep gashes did little to slow them. Then, it all began to catch up to them. All three were beginning to tire from both injury and the physical activity involved, their slip ups growing with each encounter. Drawing close to the end of the exams the team was visibly struggling, but passing had seemed to be a good possibility for all three. That was until they were ambushed by the team that was to finish after them, hoping not to place last as they picked apart the wounded Yukigakure shinobi.

Putting up the best fight they could they could not overcome the other team fast enough. One of their opponents would fall, beaten into submission by Isamu's jitte. In his success the other two focused on the Nakajima's partners, the young girl getting caught in a nasty katon jutsu that seemed to consume her, leaving a charred screaming body behind. Springing into action Isamu would pressure one of the two opponents back from the girl, but their third would fail him. The young boy was stunned with fear, only breaking his daze as he ran to their fallen team mate. This was the very mistake that had cost him his life as well. Just as Isamu had bested his second opponent he would turn to face his team. A shouted tried to still the other male as he frantically bent over to hold the scorched corpse before him. He would not get to say his goodbyes however, the last remaining opponent quickly responding. He would catch the boy in his arms, pulling him into a thrust that stabbed straight through his heart. A long draw of the blade would see the boy shutter in realization before he fell to the ground, joining the dead sensor.

The death of his two partners while he did most of the work caused something to snap within Isamu. Not because of the loss, although he had come to like the two during the exams rather than tolerate them. No, he instead flipped back completely and despised the two for their weakness. Isamu has figured them weak all this time and now, right as they began to prove him wrong, they had actually verified his views. That very moment he swore he would no longer be held back by the two and would instead see the exams through on his own. Getting into a stance Isamu goaded the silent swordsman before him into a fight, screaming at the man that he would not be defeat by the likes of him.

Instead of a response the man would simply dart toward Isamu, confident in his charge. The blinding approach would throw Isamu's guard into disarray as he backpedaled. Casting the first cut aside the second would be a downward slash, caught in the kagi of his jitte. A cocky smile would overcome the man as he stared at the man, just about to taunt the man before the unthinkable happened, the attacker let go of his blade completely. However, this moment of surprise would be overcome by dread as the man reached for his pouch, producing a tanto that he quickly lunged forward with. A hesitant response from Isamu would see his free hand also reach for a kunai, only just undoing his own pouch as the tanto slipped his guard; biting into the flesh of his left breast. Luckily the pain would awaken Isamu from his baffled pause, his body shifting into completely white flames as he utilized the power of the Nakajima. Acting fast he too had seemed to catch his opponent off guard as the flames flew forward, leaving the jitte to fall to the floor as the flames blanketed the swordsman's entire body. Rushing past the man as he toppled to the ground in a panic Isamu would reform, catching he jitte before bringing it down upon the man several times a bloody rage overcoming the wounded animal that Isamu was. Several swings later, when he was sure the man would no longer continue to fight Isamu would come to his senses, staggering over to the final destination the squad was to reach. There he collapsed from his grievous injury, stated as the final participant to return out of the allotted spots remaining. Any others were deemed failures on normal terms, those that had survived were destined to return to the exams next time.

Grace Period

Returning from the exams as a Chunin Isamu would spend his 18th birthday in the hospital, recovering from his injuries. That said, his stay was rather short, infection and blood loss being his main worry. From there he was put on medical leave while his performance was assess and he was to be put into an operations team with a brand new squad. It was during this 'downtime' that Isamu had taken a turn for the worse. He began to self medicated his stress with cigars and his pain -both emotional and physical- with alcohol. Sure, he had seen both and even partaken in the later as a more of a diplomatic prop. Although, he rarely went beyond a drink here and there and had never smoked in his life.

In the midst of things Isamu experience a feeling he had never felt before, lonesomeness. He hadn't realized how much he would miss the clan teachers, or even the brief encounters with his squad. That was until he had none of them to fall back on, sure he could go to the compound, but that wouldn't help. Isamu saw the place as a prison, he disliked political affairs and preferred to allow the council to deal with most work; it was all too technical for his liking. Besides, most the people he had come to like were old teachers, either busy with work or dead by now.

Instead, Isamu found another way to supplement his need for company, his need for human interaction. He didn't turn to those he knew, but a local commodity he had learned to look down upon. He would seek out one of the local Okiya, the Aka Tōrō. Seeing the act of paying for company as shameful, but unable to overcome his yearning for attention. Somewhere along the line Isamu had won the heart of a Geisha named Akaishi Takara, it was a rare occurrence, albeit he doesn't remember much of that night. A combination of his wounded pride and much sake served to cloud most memories of that night, although at times he finds himself thinking back to what he considered as a low point in his life.

The night before being a chaotic blur for Isamu would spark his habits further, he began to drink heavier than usual as he blocked any memories out. Unbeknownst to him his one night 'mistake' had been more than just that, having left his lover with child. That was of no concern to Isamu, as he had not even considered that in his arrogant ways. Instead, he tried to stamp out any thought of the woman entirely, following his bouts of drinking with an integration back into the military.

However, he did not do so as one would expect out of the man. He did not wait for his new squad to be determined, neither did he try and jump back into the navy even though he was experienced in such. Having shown great promise and overcoming many obstacles along the way the village saw him as an asset to finally put to use. Both his position within his clan and ninjutsu abilities in both barrier jutsu and katon release assured him a spot amongs a long list of forgotten names. When he was finally approached after months of careful observation Isamu gave no pause in joining the ANBU.

Kunekune

Quickly accepted into the ANBU Isamu would enter the mysterious task force days before his 19th birthday. From that day forward he had accepted the life style of obscurity, Isamu died, leaving only a shadow by the name of Kunekune. Well that wasn't entirely true as his clan would still know of his existence it was almost necessary. That being said it was not on good terms that the clan saw Isamu take to the ANBU. Proceeding the event with his 'medical leave' has seemed to remove Isamu from everything. He even stopped reporting back to the clan or even conversing with any of them, this had lead them to dislike the new head. Truthfully, at this point they would have rather him not return and instead would prefer to revert back to the Council having full command. In reality this was already the case thought, as they went about their days as usual, Isamu only acting as a figure head as far as the Council was concerned.

Welcoming the new name of Kunekune it was not just a title given to him, but earned. As the man behind the mask served rumors began to spread of his name. How those who glanced upon his face were driven mad, at least those unfortunate enough to survive. He was a terror inducing enigma that was only whispered about. Yukigakure's enemies had come to see him as a spirit that could wipe out entire armies, while the higher ups insisted he was nothing more than a mere man. The people of Yukigakure respected him, knowing his mask design as several scrawled drawing of it in his honor. Although, even those considered his allies were unsettled by the concept of such a man. On the other hand, very few had actually seen the man and instead only new his tale through recreated drawings and stories.

Such tales do not simply pop up out of nowhere, even if it seemed such. No, Kunekune had lived up to a life of his own. Any how may have known the man's true identity would know Kunekune was not the same man; at least not entirely. The ANBU had changed Isamu, molding him into something very different from the arrogant young lad he once was. Although he was still the same person at his core he was not all there. His missions taking him from Hoshi to Kiri and everywhere inbetween, but most importantly it showed him the terrors that lived so close to home. He had officially dove headfirst into the dark underbelly of the beast.

For most the ANBU were cold blooded killers who struck in silence, eliminating their targets with ease. That was just the beginning though. It wasn't the manhunts or even the stomach turning cover-ups of secrets that got to the man, but it was the alternative. As most don't consider not every target is meant to be eliminated and instead some were captured. At first this did not bother Isamu, he'd simply bring the prisoners back and escort them to the surprisingly large underground complex he had recently come to know as Yuki's prison. Sure, it was overwhelming in size, but it was not the prison that shocked him. It was what remained hidden within the vast earthworks. Prisoners were isolated in cells, caged like animals and some interrogated by means that were off-putting enough to even stir the man known as Kunekune. From there they would exhausted their usefulness as they awaited their sentences, at least the lucky ones. Others were there indefinitely likely waiting ransom that would never come, effectively extending their sentences way beyond what Isamu considered humane. The mastermind behind all this was a man Isamu had come to know very well, a man named Dai Ri. Being the warden of the massive complex Isamu pointed all of it's dark corners toward Dai Ri, in his mind all the bad that happened within those walls were this mans fault; forget the good it may bring in the end that was irrelevant as far as Isamu cared. The ends simply did not justify the means and this quickly began a bitter relationship between the two, one that would remain mostly hidden during the remainder of Isamu's ANBU history.

Luckily Isamu wouldn't have to hide such a secret for long as his second and final year of being an operative came. With this Yukigakure had been thrown into yet another altercation they were supplementing indirectly. This would be in the form of the Shimo-Kumo conflict. During such he figured the conflict would just be another grab for money made by Yuki and he planned to get his share.

Upon being tasked to the conflict Isamu would meet a familiar face, errr mask. Either way a friend he had come to know as simply 'Kabuto' had also been involved in the conflict. Kabuto even was paired with Isamu during the conflict, until then the two had worked together as ANBU operatives and had a relatively friendly relationship. Kabuto would comment on Isamu with hollow flirting that was met by naive flirting of his own. At first the pairing of the two on what Isamu considered an 'easy war' seemed to be working in his favor. That was until everything turned south. Isamu couldn't have pictured the conflict souring as fast as it had. Before he knew it Shimo had begun to stoop lower, sacking towns without discrimination and Yuki's mercenaries were right there beside them every step of the way. It didn't matter what stood between them; men, woman and children all felt the pain that war brought and it was by his hand. Unable to fully stop it Isamu turned his back to the conflict, gritting his teeth as even Kabuto would partake in the carnage. It makes his stomach turn to this day to even think of some of the things he had been witness to. Little to say, Isamu was on the first boat out of the area, but the damage had been done.

During this time Isamu did benefit in some for however, taking but a single artifact from all the hauls he was offered. Among a port city within Kumo Isamu had recovered an ancient looking scroll that practically screamed priceless. Stowing it away until the end of his campaign, Isamu had no idea the secrets it would hide. Not until he got back to Yuki and studied it would he learn it was a summoning technique for a legendary defense know only as Rashōmon.

Council Crisis

While not particularly the same as the average military Isamu's works would go to further his position within Yuki. Once home he was awarded the rank of Jounin at the age of 21. While found to be an exceptional operative, battle-hardened and even mastering Rashōmon, the promotion for such did little to appease for the tragedies he had caused though. Isamu saw the promotion as false and undeserved. As such he did not immediately pursue the teaching a squad of Genin as expected from a Jounin. Instead, he went back to what he was good at, signing back onto the Yuki navy with his new status. As a Jounin the hull of his ship was his training grounds and his sailor, his Genin. The was some shred of merit that Isamu saw in his job, able to settle back into 'normal' life once more.

The quiet of his ship, isolated in the vast oceans of Yuki no Kuni, was the one place he could be away from all of his troubles. During the day he would train his men, while at night he turned to drinking. On occasion this was a good thing, he would enjoy a drink or two with his crew and they all had a grand time. Although, more than not, he would lock himself in his cabin for the night to drown himself in spirits.

This would go on for 6 long years, the only thing to bring Isamu to shore would be business; be it requested by the clan council or the Lady herself. He rarely made trips for himself and if he happened to in the spur of the moment they were few and far between and were always to grab a drink in a more public place. Even if he hated himself, Isamu had come to crave human interaction even more as he isolated himself.

This would all change with the death of the second Lady, having happened so fast the village would offer an odd proposal. They would organize a tournament to decide who was most fit to lead Yuki. Sure, Isamu was happy and even encouraged to participate by the clan, but deep down he knew he couldn't lead a country. Hell, he barely did what was expected of him in regards to the clan. No, he would let this opportunity pass. Instead, he would look at another means of offering his abilities and net some control for his clan in doing so. With a new Lady that mean a new council was in order and Isamu was more than willing to throw his hat in. If not to gain power for himself, to at least quiet the council's nagging and hopefully appease the anger he had caused them with his previous actions.

Surprisingly, Isamu would be chosen for the council; becoming a member at the ripe age of 27. Once aboard it became apparent that his Naval knowledge had earned him the spot, often looked to for any reforms to regard Yuki's boats and even having a say in trade from such. The added responsibility would prove to slow down Isamu's drinking at least for a time. The next 7 years were dull, but occupying as Isamu saw vast improvement to the military and navy alike. He even got himself a much bigger and well equipped boat of his own. Likely it was more of a political piece in the Lady's eyes, but upon such Isamu took it upon himself to serve as both Yuki's councilman and Admiral.

A Broken Man

With all the reforms settling down and Yukigakure beginning to adjust to it's new leaders Isamu would be offered a 'honorable' position. Thinking they had found a suitable Jinchuuriki for the Yobi, Isamu had been asked to assist with the sealing and join the sealing team. While not a specialist his combat skills would be more than enough to justify including him in case the seal would break. This would however, be a decision that the 34 year old would come to regret.

Not being present for any previous sealing, as his position on the council had granted him the chance and as such he had been busy the majority of said years, Isamu could only go off the stories. The stories were not near as gruesome as the reality he was to witness. Upon arrival the team was made clear that the Jinchuuriki was a child, no older than a Genin at best. He had been the second attempt after the 6th Jinchuuriki's death.

Holding his tongue on the matter Isamu was unable to bring himself to voice his thoughts to any of the others. He simply watch silently as the Lady and several others carried out this injustice before him. The screams and cries of the young shinobi were chilling, but fortunately stopped soon after they began. However, this moment of bliss was brief, quickly replaced by a rumbling and a bone-chilling roar that shook Isamu's very soul. The beast they had planned to transfer into the host had broken free.

Stilled by fear Isamu stared up at the beast as the rest of the squad sprung into action. Another roar seemed to shake the earth's very foundation. The beast would crane it's head toward Isamu, it's molten maw opening with a blash of hot air that just narrowly missed the man while he shifted his stance. Jumping out of the way Isamu drew his jitte and began to throw himself into the thick of battle. Shinobi's danced around the giant beast as they threw everything they had, but none dared to get as close as Isamu was.

His fire attuned body cased the worry of the Yonbi's heat to the side, allowing Isamu to close the gap without suffering nearly as much injury. Blow after blow from the blunt weapon only seemed to distracted the best and anger it further. Acting quickly Isamu would resort to his jutsu as he pummeled Son Goku with everything he had. White flames crashed against his hide, barriers seemed to bounce off his muscles and gen could not capture the beast's rampant mind.

Exhausted from their efforts the team began to grow sloppy; finally Isamu would resort to his ultimate technique, Rashōmon. Using the summon he still only made minuscule gains as he did little more than slow the beast's rampage. No, Isamu could only buy time now as he traded blows with the Yonbi, his tired movements just barely scathing by each assault until the final one caught him. Scooped up in the paws of the giant monkey Isamu was thought to be done for. A wicked smile greeted him as the beast hoisted him to eye level. Holding each of Isamu's arm in his respective hands the beast would toy with his food before he finished him off. A rough squeeze would crush his left arm, shattering the bone to dust with it's might as the other hand tore his right arm from his very form. "Now!" Isamu would scream in pain, signalling for the beast to be sealed once more within it's artificial prison.

Angered as he was stalled by the man Son Goku would just about swallow the man when he brutally tossed him aside. His fang caught Isamu's face, giving him the gash he now sports before he roughly tumbled against the ground. It was too late though, the seal had ensnared Son Goku before he could make his retreat. It's inky form ensnared the beast before savagely pulling him into itself and sealing it once more.

The squad would hastily regroup after such a fight, two men ordered to carry Isamu off to the hospital. In truth his survival was deemed almost impossible, but he was not told this and instead was offered all the help he could get, ultimately believed to die soon after his injuries were sustained. However, that was not in the cards for Isamu and he would slowly, but miraculously make a recovery. Although, in doing so he would lose both his arms as the right was deemed lost and the left amputated after it was deemed unsalvageable. On the surface this would seem to not be so much of an issue to most, as Yuki's technology and scientific breakthroughs had allowed him two mechanical replacements in place of his old arms.

Leaving the hospital Isamu was a storm of emotions. His arms had been the first of their design and he was assured that he would be able to use ninjutsu once more at least in theory. However, he was unable to yield such results as adapted to the arms. To Isamu, he was merely a 36 year old, washed up Jounin. All the importance placed on his hijutsu was now useless as he could not even mold simple Katon jutsu using the arms and could only use his flame embodiment on the 'human' part of his body.

Since his recovery he has become a shell of his former self, once more on medical leave. As such, he turned to the one thing that he had always found comfort in, alcohol. Since than he has spent the two years doing the bare minimum of council work during the day and drinking his nights away. He can often be found aboard his ship, seeming more like a ghost ship without Isamu's usual energy about it. All that seems to remain of the man is a broken, 38 year old, Jounin that seems to be staring down the barrel of retirement, but he truthfully couldn't bring himself to resign.

A New Purpose

The next few years would come and go for Isamu like any other. He spent this time rather mundanely seeing to his 'duties' as a jounin. In this time he had regained his control of his chakra. Even able to adapt quite nicely to his new appendages. Things were starting to turn another leaf for the old dog. At least somethings were looking up.

Saya's plot to invade Hoshigakure falling flat as the inner machinations of political turmoil began too much to bare for Yukigakure as a whole. Seeing the once respected leader deposed was still a development that shook Isamu nonetheless. He had always known she came off a bit brash, but would never expect her to be forced to step down. As such being Captain of the navy had continued to be another uneventful role in the Nakajima's career.

Everything would not remain stagnant in Yukigakure however, as the recent divide in his own clan breathed an unwanted, yet fresh breath of new problems into the air. With the recent dispute among leadership and the exile of a would-be clan heads while the other faded into obscurity left few options for the Council of Green as far as who had rightful claim to such a seat of power. While many among the clan had the support of the council the 'birthright' fell to none other than Isamu. While unofficially seen as a disgrace among more conservative members of the clan he was in all fairness a white flame and had every right to lead. This offer coupled with the uprising of Nisshoku (The Cult of the White Flame) pushed the aging shinobi into the position of clan head. Having just begun pushing into his 40s he saw this as a rebirth of sorts, able to take himself more seriously and cast aside his past; if only momentarily.

Seeing his new position as more pertinent and his relations with Yuki Shuka waning since her ascension to the position of Lady Yuki Isamu would stepdown from being an official council member. Still his position within the navy and his cumulative skillset and experience saw him remain active as an advisor should he be called on.

FIGHTING STYLE

When it comes to fighting it is probably on of Isamu's favorite things to do in life. Likewise, he has grown accustom to the art and has become a master in his own right. He charges into battle without fear, his sword swinging effortlessly as if second nature, complimented by blazing white flames. These very same flames favor his bold style as he can utilize his clan's hijutsu to evade any would be damage coming his way. What he can't accomplish with his bukijutsu or katon abilites he tackles with supplementary taijutsu and barrier jutsu. Furthermore, he has begun to incorporate genjutsu into his arsenal to a surprisingly effective degree; keeping the pacing of the match where he wants and prioritizing on any lapses he creates.

SPECIAL ABILITIES

Beast Within - Strength

While most have likened Isamu's anger to bestial rage they have also noted that he is of a build that enforces such. His hulking frame and towering stature go to facilitate strength that would rival most beasts of burden even. Adding his physical training on top of that and the fact he focuses on Bukijutsu for most of his combat style and you get one impressive spectacle of strength. His hits might be fast, but do not lack any power to back them up.

Blinding Speed

His physical training along with his hijutsu's mobility cause Isamu to be a scary opponent on the field. Able to move at a speed that strains the eyes of those who are of similar rank to him. His sword swings are fast enough to be heard up to a meter away when not masked and his attacks are hard to follow for any that don't quite come up to snuff when faced with his overwhelming assault. Along with his in-depth ability with a blade the rest of his aging body has not gone yet. He instead seems more fit than ever and has proven to be able to handle his own with the younger, more spry, shinobi of the village. Any opposition would find it difficult to track his movement without proper sensory techs or dojutsu.

Savant of Flame - Katon Release

Since he had realized his limitations with ninjutsu Isamu has made it a point to specialize himself even further. Through daunting displays of energy and physical exertion he has relatively managed to become a genius in his own right when it comes to all things pertaining to his flame release. This has resulted in any such jutsu becoming less taxing on his chakra as a whole. Furthermore, he has also displayed his Katon to burn much more intense than those who have trained in multiple natures. Any jutsu encompassing said nature can easily yield double the power of those used by less specialized shinobi.

Monstrous Chakra Reserves

From his earliest years Isamu had always held a remarkable affinity toward ninjutsu. This would further be identified as he trained alongside his peers. Able to throw around his immense chakra reserves with ease, utilizing the most strenuous jutsu of his natural chakra chakra affinity, Katon, back to back before he could even notice the drain that would leave similar shinobi shaking from exhaustion.

White Flame of Purity

Being from a clan such as the Namajima, it was no surprise that Isamu was gifted the gift of flame like so many others. Although, it was a surprise which flame he got exactly. Isamu was among the select few that his clan hoped and prayed for, the very gift evey Namajima couple wanted their child to be. Isamu was a holder of the 'White Flame' the very flame inherited by heir after heir, all that show such power are almost guaranteed a spot among the greats. Even the Council of Green revered the White flame users, only stepping down when one shows themselves to be prepared to become clan head.

That very power has taken hold in Isamu, his body warm to the touch, verging on hot when inspected by others. However, his judgement and behavior sets him vastly apart from previous white flames. Furthermore, his battle style even differs from the traditional graceful flame users. Instead, Isamu has been characterized as wild, violent and destructive.

Birthday: Please add the year of birth for Isamu. It is 980.

Appearance: Does he wear the Yuki Headband? Where?

History:
Humble Beginnings - you say he was trained in clan’s hijutsu before the Academy, but usually no one can use elemental ninjutsu before becoming a genin, so him not being able to use Katon, isn't that weird at all, maybe just leave it at him not being good at ninjutsu in general, or at least not the level his father expected.

The history timeline doesn't match up a bit. You write that the father stopped training him, if we count the age Isamu was 5 or less, cause that was when his brother was born and him not able to perform jutsu, especially elemental, at that age, in my opinion, is quite normal, but then you write he enrolled in the academy at 10. So what did he do 5 years after his brother's birth? Why did he enroll in the academy so late? Or did the father cancel his enrolment at the age of 5, because of his brother's birth? Could you please clarify that?

Grace Period - at the end, you wrote that HE decided to become an ANBU. But Shinobi don't get to decide to become ANBU, they are chosen/scouted. I would like you to explain how he got scouted, for what reason?

Council Crisis - You write that at the age of 21, he becomes a Jounin. Please explain for what reasons/achievements did he receive this rank.

I would add to the history that at the age of 40, he became the clan head, as that is when the 4th Lady and the Clan Head Emiri disappeared.

Fighting Style: Please adjust it. Now that he has prosthetic arms and like you mentioned is unable to properly wield ninjutsu, possibly even a sword, etc, I would assume that he would fight differently or maybe even avoid it.

Special Abilities:
Beast Within - Strength/Endurance - Please remove any mention of speed, as it has nothing to do with this SA. As this is a split SA it means that, yes, Isamu is better at these two aspects than his peers who do not have such an SA, but he is weaker than people who have SAs dedicated to each of these aspects separately. Please reword it, so it reflects these aspects.

Blinding Speed - Impeccable Reflexes (Bukijutsu) - What is the difference between those two? Both are speed SA, in my opinion, one speed SA is enough. But maybe I just don't understand the idea behind them.

Monstrous Chakra Reserves - Please reword this SA, so it only includes things that are related to chakra reserves (a shinobi is capable of utilizing more jutsu over a short amount of time without tiring out, as well as being able to use stronger jutsu more often before tiring out.), in your own words of course. The clan, in Nakajima's case, has nothing to do with bigger chakra reserves, that is not a property this clan possesses, so you can just say he was born with big reserves.

White Flame of Purity - Please reword the whole SA, so it only reflects the hijutsu (allows the clan to take the form of fire, either fully or partially, while in this form, they find themselves immune to physical damage from non-chakra enhanced attacks, they can also heal their body by absorbing natural fire, not created by chakra, unable to utilize other chakra elements, limiting the clan to using non-elemental or fire element jutsus, weak to wind jutsu), in your own words, and tailored to Isamu.
