Hotarubi didn't realise how high in the mountains they were: if Takigakure was the sea, then Iwagakure was the heavens - it had been like double the length of upwards that it had taken to get to Kaminari no Kuni's Akazaya. And yet: it was more his element and he wondered why on earth the Yamakira hadn't settled here. Possibly due to the fact there was some history that he had never bothered to learn about.

But as a Special Jonin he was free to leave for allied countries and with Iwagakure on their doorstep - and close to the border of Bonchi no Kuni, Hotarubi had a date to get to: he'd let Taki Okada know that he was on his way, and set out the day before. What he hadn't anticipated, was the unprecedented amount of 'getting lost' - he received directions at intervals on production of identification but that didn't stop him from just about arriving four hours later - that he was likely Taki would not be there for him when he arrived.

And speaking of which: why Taki? Why not Souma? Because Taki, from their two occassions of talking was the Okadan princess: the heir, someone important and someone he needed. Something was going down soon in Takigakure no Sato and he needed support, which - from abroad, he needed to know while being tactful of the situation that she had called on him during the Chunin exams, and with the way things were going he needed to have someone shouting in his corner - anything additional.

And, it would place him a position of owing if it worked out - but since he was a part of the fire and brimstone alliance and he had access to the Okadan gyms (per the conversation with Taki at the exams) he was making use of that. Iwagakure's grand entrance up the mountains and steep cliffs were absolutely amazing. It was easy to say that Hotarubi deeply preferred the land of stone to the jungle, if he wasn't at home there he would've been at home here. The land of mountains!

But now - he waited in line to get through, fishing through his pockets to retrive his paper identification as well as the plastic card that he was known by - as well as the flak jacket, which was an item he seldom wore. However: one item that they would likely not find, was the metal core deep within his being. An item he was trying to use and learn for battle.

As the girl would wake up and get herself set and ready for the day ahead she had a lot on her plate, dealing with some new recruits at the Okada family gym along with getting some training done of her own in an art she was trying to refine, on the off chance she'd need it in the future. With that being said the girl would tie on her boots and get her headphones since she was also expected to meet with a certain someone at the gates, he'd given her a letter denoting how soon he'd be arriving at the girl herself was eager to meet with him by the sounds of his letter it seemed like he had something to say, but what she didn't know.

Once she was dressed she'd slide on her shades and make her way through the streets like the superstar she was waving hello to whatever adoring fans she would've had and also tipping her hat the few superiors she had. Upon arrival at the gates however the girl would look up at the large clock awaiting his arrival minutes would pass and the girl would wonder if maybe he had gotten lost or maybe forgot what time it was. It was still early so she'd give him time taking a minute to go and get herself breakfast at her uncle's stand not too far from the gates, an hour would pass and as she returned he still hadn't returned by now she was starting to be a bit skeptical he was even coming.

With that she'd leave just to make sure she hadn't missed any of her appointments only to find out that her aunt was already taking care of it leading to her getting a bit chewed out for her tardiness which was really no one else fault other than Hotarubi's. She'd return to the gate peeved asking the guards if they'd seen anyone from Takigakure yet, to which she still got no answer. "You tell him IF he gets here that if he wants to waste time, he can do it to someone dat ain't me...cause my time is money and no one messes with eitha." with that the girl would make her way back to the gym that was located in the Okada compound, and would focus her time there for the moment blowing off the steam she wishes she could on Hotarubi.

By the time he had arrived Hotarubi was already annoyed that he had had to wait for someone, like it hadn't been his own fault nobody had been there to greet him.

"What? Really?" Hotarubi would protest as he would have to be escorted directly to the compound for Taki to at least sign a few waivers of release before he would be allowed what was closer to a 'free access' for an allied Shinobi. Unfortunately it was not just as simple as being given the 'ok'.

So, eventually - after some more waiting someone was assigned to him and he would be turned over to the clan compound and then eventually to a gym. Walking across the bridges the man's eyes were like bulges. "Shit's cool." There was actually a lot less rock than he'd anticipated, but that was what he got for being in the village hidden in the ... stone. Everything - everything was stone. The Kage Tower stood proud, higher among the rest and looking down. The Yutakako clan compound (that was, he found out, from asking) that they had one of the biggest compounds for being the effective equivalent of 'royalty'.

But eventually, coming through to where Taki was, Hotarubi tutted initially. In truth, Hotarubi was stressed - he was late, and he was going to use humour to deflect on the true feelings bubbling beneath the surface. "Bad reception, Taki. Is this what all treasured guests get?" He would not quite sneer, but his voice was more annoyed (again; deflecting his true feelings) as though he wasn't the one who had caused all of this to be started much later than usual, while his entourage would be quiet as they approached Taki with the forms to look at and sign.

Taki was neck deep in training some of the younger Okadan's who were all slowly showing an interest in Shinobi life it was something she felt responsible for and so she took it upon herself to train these them up and get them in gear being a bit of a coach to the lot of them. "Alright let's go...keep it locked in...I said...damn it!" she'd shout as she watched one of her cousins fail to keep up a headlock and get unceremoniously taken down.

Prompting her to step up to the top of the ring and schooch over to the turnbuckle. "Look, I know it's hard but you gotta keep dat thing locked in got it...if'n ya don't ya goose is cooked out dere." she'd say as she slapped him on the back and shoved him back into the ring, but as soon that was done and dusted her Cousin Tori would call out to her. "Yo Taki..." she'd turn and look towards him. "Tori what's up?" she'd point towards the door. "You got a guest." looking towards the entrance to the gym seeing Hotarubi the pink skinned boy immediately reconizable, she'd then look towards the group of boys in the ring. "A'ight Take 5 then regroup on Tori okay." the boys would look back towards her. "Yes Ma'm!"

With that Taki would make her way towards the young man the discontent and indignance written all over her face. "You got some serious noiv askin me fer a decent reception when you are -- 4 -- howas -- late" the girl had been neck deep in a great deal of work and had already gotten read the riot act by her auntie for her tardiness as a result of this and was not happy.

With the girl getting a bit older now a days she's learning to take on a bit more responsibility within her family and she didn't have time to deal with people who wasted it. "You got 10 minutes." she hadn't a clue what it was that he wanted and wasn't so sure how much he cared but for him to call all this way it must've meant something so naturally the Okadan was curious but just what was he getting at that was so damn important.

Listening to her was difficult as crease lines formed in his face - would he even have the chance to explain himself?

It was difficult to back down - and yet, while Taki seemed to rage on Hotarubi stood there. Yes. He was late - not that it was evident that he hadn't done that intentionally but he had tried to be blaze and it hadn't worked, she clearly wasn't in the mood.

It was right there on the back of his tongue. How painful: as it was something he'd only really ever said, and meant, to Nageku. "I'm sorry." Hotarubi was genuine, he was sincere in the way he spoke it. "I'm stressed out. I won't pretend." Hotarubi was flat, and avoidant of the woman's stare as he turned from her to be side on. It was easier to ask for something while wrestling with the other side of consciousness - the type which wanted help, and the other which demanded and expected it.

"I have something to ask. I helped you at my exams." Hotarubi helped himself: but he had listened to Taki, and what he needed to discuss went beyond that. "And I'm coming back to ask for repayment... and interest. I would owe you, deeply - and you don't have to commit your clan until you find out about it, which... you will." Hotarubi was leading on for Taki to ask the all important question.

"But I think you will." Hotarubi would turn back, now that he had said the bit in which he felt weak in himself. He had intended to speak to her specifically - knowing that she was a clan heir, hoping that she would get far further in his talks from an international stage that could otherwise be afforded.

He watched her - his heart rate, and his absolutely serious demeanor. Hotarubi had not been an easy person to talk to - in their first meeting, he had been openly disrespectful to her. In their second, they had come to some sort of 'terms' - and now he was coming to cash in on their third...

Was this the same bloodthirsty kid she had met at the exams who ripped off another mans arms...she too was prone to somewhat hiding her emotions behind bravado and admittedly respected his honesty. "Anyway what's up..." she'd say as she leaned against the walls outside of the electronic sliding door, seemed he was calling in a favor to the young woman, with interest again with the nerve but she was a business woman so she understood.

"I dunno what you're talking about but my family knows about Takigakure you're an ally and I can...put our business deal under da table." the girl had wondered if perhaps she regretted her decision but deep down she still hated Konoha and would do anything to see them suffer even if she knew it was wrong.

While she didn't profess it enough the girl was still biding her time somewhat feeling her rage subside and more so feeling the more adult side of things grow out, doing so for the sake of protection for her people she'd gotten in a bit too deep now and it was growing on her perhaps even in a positive light using that rage for more than just sage training and making a positive impact in other places.

It was surely still there but needed to boil over at the right moment and right now wasn't that moment. "If you need my support as the shinobi face dat runs da place I can tawlk to my dad about it..." she'd crane her heads towards him her first set of words being said but not "at" him but to him. However now she was more direct.

"But you gotta be more specific den dat, c'mon out wit it rock top, I can't make a payment if I don't know what I'm buyin'" the girl would say urging him to get to the point of just what it was he was after.

Hotarubi took one single, deep breath. One moment to close his eyes and collect his thoughts, yellow orbs would reach out for the connection of her own eyes, and would explain. She might've decided to lean away and Hotarubi would remain standing: and actually, for once, Hotarubi felt the gut of both betrayal and concern, those were likely explained as anxiety. Something he hadn't felt since being a child under his father's roof which seemed so long ago.

The man shrugged. "Whatever that was," Hotarubi could play the game, so long as she remembered the he had did her a solid. But what she said next helped raise his confidence: as the face of the business. Hotarubi nodded. This was good. There was a glimmer of hope.

But he could not give her exactly what she wanted. Another deep breath. Fuck. Why was it this hard to ask for help? "Takigakure's tree is being shaken. I can't be honest right now but can say that my name is going come around a lot, and I need more than just the support of the people around me. I need people yelling in my.. you call one of those a corner?" He would point with his thumb to the ring behind him. "Loudly. While I want to be direct, that's my nature - you know? A Yamakira. Mountain killers. We're strong, that's what we care about. But as my teacher says... strength isn't the sole function of a village. I'm asking that you consider, very strongly, that when you hear the news that will break in these few weeks, your people come in droves with mine. You put on your shows, bring the people. And hell - this conversation never happened. If it isn't in your interest, if you can't convince your people to ... no hard feelings." Hotarubi was as clear as he could be without telling the woman.

But, there was also the underlying threat - if whatever it is I'm doing is successful and you didn't back me... I'll remember.

The girl would hear what he had meant in regards to Takigakure's tree being shaken the girl had no clue how polotics worked in Takigakure and probably should've cared but never really thought too, but he was for their support but still being vague. "Hang on a second...you've got that kinda--" then it clicked, and her face would scrunch into that of a cheeky little shit eating grin as she jabbed his arm with her elbow.

"Ooooh I getcha..." but despite that as much as she'd like too theball wasn't in her court. "It'd be a lotta woik to make dat happen but hey I can see us raising our flag out dere, especially if dere's money involved, I can see it now." really thinking about it, the girl had dollar signs in her eyes. She'd take a few steps forward looking out to the sky visualizing a giant arena with tons of screaming fans and a massive swamp theme to go with it.

"I got it...da battle in da Bayou a real Royal Rumble o epic proportions, we've got a world tour we've been plannin for a while and dat would be an awesome foist stop!" she'd say holding her hands out as if describing some grand spectacle her eyes had a sparkle to them as a song would begin to play ocer the speakers behind her that weirdly fit the situation. "If dis works out I gotcha back, I'm always willing to do business, and I might have anotha favor to ask dependin on the situation."

She was guessing too close - no. His mouth pulled together in a sort of puckered disagreement. This wasn't how the conversation should have gone. She was close to the mark, he was guessing - but the point was to give him more time. She would elbow him and he would stay unwavering, still. While Taki had her thoughts, he would watch. Was that a good trade? At least she was being direct about what she wanted.

"Takigakure would always be welcome for... business." Hotarubi spoke slowly, was he comprehending this properly? "I would be in your debt, if I'm in a position to help you -" It was there on the tip of his tongue but he was trying to be discreet, and discreet was not usually within the Yamakira typology.

What Hotarubi hadn't said was that he couldn't do that for her, or any indication for the purpose. "I'm - just. Listen. Whatever news that will come across the grapevine, since it's already out of our village - you will know what to do." The notice of Ryu's disappearance had been noted - and Kenji was working against the odds to put in place the rumors, it had already left the confines of Takigakure no sato: and it would spread to the capital of Nishima-Jo next. Then, when that happened all bets were off as the news spread across the elemental nations.

Hotarubi nodded at her mention of an additional ask. That was reasonable, given what was going on. The creation of a new arena in Bonchi no Kuni - fuck, Hotarubi could build it in a single sweep with a strong Doton ninjutsu.

Taki would hear the Yamakira's words and take note of his intentions nodding her head. "Dats what I like to hear!" but sitll she couldn't help but find herself rather curious by what it was he was stating before hand, if he was trying to get himself into a position of power then the question was, what happened to the big guy?

"Did da big bad boogey man kick da bucket or sumthin?" the girl would state rather brazenly that was another countries leader she was talking about but based how she had heard he treated his family he wasn't someone that Taki could outwardly respect but at least if Hotarubi was the one who was coming into power she wouldn't feel as bad giving her allegiances to someone that she could trust like himself.

But often times Taki spoke without thinking but also didn't really care who it was she had offended he was probably keeping a secret with good reason but even still a changing of the guard particularly of that calibur was something pretty big and she'd be lying if she said she wasn't exactly curious. She more than likely wasn't going to be getting any kind of answer out of him but it wouldn't hurt to ask regardless.

When transforming into Sage Mode Taki's body Taki is able to use nature energy to harness her powers in order to make her more physically imposing than normal adding to her natural affinities with Taijutsu allowing her move faster and hit harder heavy items thus adding a good amount of power and heft to her attacks allowing her to snap bones with much less effort and outpace a good majority of her enemies with her monstrous charge.

Due to the coarse strength of a gorilla's skin Taki is able to withstand a good amount of extra punishment allowing her to be able to withstand blows from most enemies that most shinobi wouldn't be able to normally withstand. As such blows from strong fighters are reduced by a considerable amount and when struck feel like colliding with a considerably immovable force.

Hotarubi stared.

It was certainly difficult to answer, and he had made it far too obvious. But then - Hotarubi supposed, why would he have travelled into another country, to ask a question? Maybe it required a change of tact.

Did he say it? He had clearly been too obvious. At first - the thought was that this would be an easy conversation. Looking down - resolving himself as he slowly nodded. "Ryu disappeared. We only know he took his son. I found out while I was in Akazaya for the Chunin exams. I should probably go back... to why me." Maybe it would help add to his cause if they held the initative? Hotarubi didn't trust Iwagakure: didn't trust Iwagakure no Sato... but then he didn't really trust much of anybody. But this? The Yamakira didn't think it could come back to bite him in his earthy ass.

"Our Hancho - tested me personally and put me as a shoe in for the position. Not like it's a .. y'know. Piece of paper. But he's been talking to people. Training me more - I've been meeting our rich folks all across Bonchi no Kuni. Reaching out to allies..."Though he wasn't stressing the word 'allies' there, given even Taki knew how he had been in his own exams. "But more importantly, showing me how the work is being done. My mission record speaks for itself but ... I was named the sole successor. A few others have tried... but none seem to stick. There are a couple of faces making themselves known, though - people who don't even exist on record in Takigakure - hidden behind the scenes. Doesn't matter." Hotarubi would shake it off, since it was clearly bothering him.

"But if your clan makes the noise from across the border. I will promise you'll get a space there. My clan are booming; and I've taken care of a few of those loose ends. They're just happy to have one of us show up... because not many did... and those who did..." Hotarubi didn't finish the sentence.
