BASIC INFORMATION

NAME: Susanō Sora
AGE: 15
GENDER: Cinnamon Roll Male
BIRTHDAY: May 4th
VILLAGE: Amegakure
CLAN: Susanō
RANK: Adv. Genin
POSITION: Genin Team 3; Member
OTHER ALIAS: N/A

APPEARANCE

HEIGHT: 5'2" (157cm)
WEIGHT: 95 Ibs (43kg)

Sora look every bit the innocent little boy that he comes off to be. His stature is rather underwhelming, standing at five feet and two inches and weighing at a light ninety-five pounds. Complimenting his petite figure he is slender and has a clear, creamy white complexion. However, this complexion is often interrupted by an odd bruise, scrape or cut. Often small in detail, but noticeable upon careful observation. His injuries have become more or less a defining feature, with the small paper cuts being among the most numerous blemish upon his otherwise clear complexion.

Both Sora's hair and eyes share a light crimson tone. However, his eyes have seemingly 'lost their light', holding a look of depth to them like that of a man in deep thought. Like they say the eyes are the 'windows to one's soul' and as such can not tell a lie. Instead it is clear that there is more than meets the eye when it comes to Sora, what that is however is much harder to pinpoint from the Genin's looks alone.

Attire

As far as Sora's attire he often wears a wide array of casual ware, almost always seeming just slightly too small for his clothes. This is partial due to the jacket that is almost always wrapped around overtop whichever outfit the boy chooses. The jacket being left behind by his brother, Enma. This is evident as the sleeve bears the kanji of his name. Adding further to his loosely fitting clothing Sora tends to let his hitai-ate hang around his neck, loosely tied in a knot under the nape of the boy's neck.

PERSONALITY

NINDO: "Why must there be so much pain in a world so beautiful?"

As a person Sora is everything one could expect from a child of his make. He is small, sheepish and quiet on the surface; much rather preferring to watch and listen rather than speak. Since his brother's 'disappearance' it has ownly gotten worse. Being left alone with no one left had deeply hurt Sora, sending him into a spiral of emotions. This spiral would undoubtedly result in his much more submissive and even anti-social at times. While subconscious of the fact he has also became a bit scared of his superior, especial those that are male.

Once this 'shell' is broken however, the true Sora begins to show. At his core he is a bubbly person who enjoys the finer things of life. Having an eye for beauty and a love for creation in any and all capacities. Furthermore, he is very emotional and clingy as he desperately fears lonesomeness, never wanting to know such feeling again. That being said he is a bit cautious about forming bonds, even if he seems to do so quickly. This is an oxymoron derived from his 'touch-starved' past and abusive upbringing. While he may not want to have those he loves ripped away from him he is accepting of all who show him care and affection, leaving the already emotionally scared boy only more vulnerable.

HISTORY

A Loving Family

To begin with Sora had a relatively average life, at least as average of a life as a shinobi can have. He was born to two loving parents, both natives of Amegakure. His mother (Aoi), eager to have a child of her own constantly showed the boy in love and care. His father, one Susanō Isao, did not have such a luxury as he too chose the life of a shinobi like so many before him. Instead he would show his love a bit differently, providing for the son he wished he had more time to attend to.

Along with his parents, Sora also had a single brother named Enma; much older than he and well versed in combat. He too would add to the loving family that they had. This love was a whole different beast to Sora though. Instead of hugs and praise he only got stern words and physically taxing training. Ever since the day of Sora's 7th birthday--the day he enrolled in the academy-- these 'trials' had been going on. At first they were mundane and basic, but quickly Enma's expectations would cause them to further escalate with each session. Fueled by a desire to improve himself and looking up to Enma as a role model the boy would do his best to please his brother. Day after day new bruises would take form faster than the old ones could heal and while this would raise a few brows any questioning he got was quickly explained away by the boy himself. After all bruises are common place among shinobi, even young academy students and this rang true even further for those born to clans.

A Shattered Home

Sora's tenth birthday had come and gone like a blur. Between helping his mother at home, training with Enma and academy work everything seemed to run together for the crimson haired boy. However, this would come to a grinding halt on a seemingly ordinary school day. Returning from school the tension in the air was noticeable even to a young Sora. As he neared his home Enma would be standing outside, just as he had been everyday, assumingly ready to begin training like any other day. Although, that would not be the case instead of taking a lead Enma would do the unexpected, walking down the front stairs of the house and embracing Sora. Silent tears welled up in the older brother's eyes before discretely being wiped away. Gathering himself Enma would explain to his younger brother that their father had died while out on a mission and that his mother had been assassinated. Enma went on about how this was the life of a shinobi and that their killers would pay. In the end he was only telling Sora half the truth. While Isao had indeed been killed in action there was no assassination, his mother simply couldn't bring herself to deal with the crushing news and instead took her own life, leaving only the two boys to fend for themselves.

Thankfully Sora had been at school the whole day and the story lined up. Not being there to see the whole event had sheltered him from the full magnitude of the situation. That said the news hit him like a ton of bricks, devastating what use to be a mostly happy child; turning Sora into the distant boy he is today. With both parents gone and Enma in charge the house was seemingly empty, devoid of any sign of happiness with an awkward disconnect between the brothers being the only thing to fill the void. That very same disconnect would only serve to widen as time went by. The stress of being both the brother and the sole caretaker of the boy would weigh hard on his brother. Still Enma would endure the best he could, this meant taking up more missions, upholding Sora's training and even joining the ANBU. In the end all the pressure would prove too much for the older brother as he began to grown crueler and more distant toward Sora. His desire for his baby brother to grow strong quickly turned to disdain toward Sora's incompetent. This would only further devolve into resentment and frustration as Sora proved to not be able to fully utilize their clan's hijutsu, the very thing that made them the great shinobi they were known as. For Enma this was even more so, as he valued the name Susanō more than most, seeing the name as much more; seeing it more as a title among their family.

Enma's emotions would serve to only impede the progress he so wanted for Sora. The aggressive training turned to abusive beatings before long, Enma unable to see how badly he was hurting the boy. The breaking point for Sora seemed close as he began to hate himself rather than the brother he still loved and adored. Sora looked at the beatings like he was to blame, even when the damage his body had sustained from his own brother had forced him to forgo any further training. This lead him to develop the inferiority complex he now deals with today. Then suddenly, at the age of 11 with the news of him graduating the training had let up. There were no more beatings, no more long exhausted nights where he waited for himself to slip in to unconsciousness; his own exhaustion at times being the only way he could overcome the pain and finally rest. No, it had all seemingly stopped with his new sensei and Enma would only uphold clan training. Even then the training didn't have nearly as much impact, Enma seeming to have long given up any hope that his failure of a brother would become a true Susanō. In Enma's mind he was almost free of his brother and had already mentally disowned the boy, leaving him alone once more.

All Alone

Perhaps he wasn't physically alone seeing as the two still lived in the same house and Enma even kept caring for him. Although, the meaning of 'care' had begun to fade from Sora's comprehension. Twisted and contorted into a beast so different from the one he had grown to know. This was not the loving touch he had grown accuse to from his parents, it wasn't even the tough love he had put up with before. No, Enma had changed so much that he was hardly the brother Sora loved so much before. Still, the boy either to naive or loving to give up did not see it this way. Instead he saw Enma as just that, the brother he loved so dearly, the brother that was there for him when they each had nothing left. Sure, there were still good times -smiles, laughs a friendly word-, although it seemed to almost always come from the younger brother. More and more the emotional divide between them expanded, Enma had almost fully devoted his life to the ANBU and Sora was busy with his new squad most of the day. The little interaction they had left was meaningless at best. They would each go about their day respectfully, return home for a late and fruitless 'family dinner' and would then turn in for the night. There were some days when the two wouldn't even exchange more than mundane pleasantries. There was one thing that hadn't changed this whole time though, Sora still longed for the affection and acknowledgement of his brother. He would often display his new found jutsu and abilities in an attempt to impress his brother, but would get no such response.

This would go on for several weeks, there lives little more than a monotonous routine. Then everything suddenly began to look up for Sora. His squad had been tasked with a high-risk intel gathering mission. Even Enma had perked up ever so slightly at the news, perhaps Sora wasn't the sorry excuse for a Susanō that his brother had thought he was. For this week things seemed like they had gone back to normal. Sora had actually felt happy for the first time in awhile. Enma was acting like he had before the death of their parents, he even seemed to be a bit nicer than he had before since he hadn't been hard on Sora at all. The day of the mission the brothers would wake up early, Enma had went as far as to pack lunch for the boy before sending him off. The two would talk briefly before finally saying their goodbyes, Sora leaving with a sheepish, "I love you.", which was unexpectedly returned by his brother with a smile.

A shinobi's life was destined for sorrow though and things were bound to get worse before they got better. While out on his mission it had seemed the risk associated with such a task was far beyond any had hoped. Even with the help of their Sensei the three Genin did not stand a chance. Assailed by a group of enemy shinobi the relatively inexperienced squad was thrown into disarray. Although this would be the very reason Sora is alive today it would be the downfall of the squad as a whole. Scattered and panicked their Sensei would try their best to rally the Genin while defending them. This would only get so far with their already skewed odds. It did not take long for their attackers to round up the squad, minus Sora. Assuming he had ran the attackers would mock him and tease his squad, unknowingly being watched by the boy the whole time. In his terror the boy had managed to do something he had never accomplished before and would fully achieve the transformation he had spend countless hours attempting to hone. Thankfully with his brother's 'help' he had been subject to almost every training approach and would remember a jutsu used to conceal ones body by blending the sheets of their transformed body to their surroundings. Although ecstatic of the fact the terror and shame brought on by the situation would quickly push any such thought from his mind. With their objective hidden amongst the sheets that made up his being Sora would stay motionless, listening and watching every moment of his squads brutal execution; followed by the killers frustrated search of the area for the very document that was right under their nose.

Returning to the village Sora was an emotional wreck, he didn't even bother to tell the gate guards about the incident. Instead running straight home the moment he set foot back in the village. Enma would already be home, settling in after a long day of ANBU work. Unable to contain himself Sora would burst into tears, spilling every detail to his brother as he clung to his side. Enma only offered a silent stare, an all too familiar gaze settling on his face. He did not seem mad though, actually he seemed rather 'neutral' over the whole idea. He didn't even alert authorities, which Sora should have noticed, but had overlooked it in his flustered state of mind.

Sora's curiosity was instead peaked as Enma urged him to follow him outside of the house and back to where this had taken place. Leading his brother to the site Sora had thought this was perhaps his brothers way of cleaning things up. After all he was a high ranking shinobi and surely had seen a fair few deaths in his time; he would surely know how these things would be dealt with. This was not the case, not by a long shot, instead his Enma had seen no other way to fix this. He deemed it fit to finish the job, this was the last time he was going to let Sora tarnish their clans name and in turn the title of 'shinobi'.

Rushing at Sora the Genin had no time to react as he barely turned to meet Enma's gaze. Then a sudden sharp pain buckled his knees and slouched his body. A full-force knee to the sternum connect with the boy as the two locked eyes. The pain had numbed his body, overtaking him and silencing any screams. Only a bloody cough accompanied the cracking of bone, followed by a pitiful chuckle from Enma. An upward punch would lift the boy back to his feet as his ribs snapped under pressure. He had known pain before, but this was something else, this was agony. His brother no longer was beating him, this was a fully committed fight in the older brother's mind. He was dead set on causing as much damage as possible with each hit. A strained gasp of air slipped from Sora's lungs before a second punch came from the opposite side, impacting his ribs with another brutal snapping sound. A third punch would connect with his face before a forth on the other side of his face.

The world went black for a moment, then the wet impact of mud against his face woke him. Somewhere between this split second the assault continued with a fifth and sixth punch from the same hand that had rocked him. All three previous strikes effectively swelling his left eye shut and undoubtedly breaking something. Rising from his feet Enma looked down at what he had once called a 'brother', little more than a beaten mess among his fallen squad. Enma scoffed, taking this time to explain himself as Sora drifted on the edge of consciousness.Blood ran down the the boys face as he strained see his brother, looking up to him from the ground, looking up to him as he always had.

"I could have put up with you being a miserable excuse for a shinobi, but this is where I draw the line. Those who abandon their friends are scum, not fit to live. Now you can join them." Those would be the last words Sora heard from his brother before blacking out. His brother leaving his bloodied and broken body where he had fallen, he had not even bothered to put Sora out of his misery.

Aftermath

Lying lifeless among his fallen squad Sora would drift in and out of conciousness. The taste and smell of copper the only sense his body registered as his blurry vision strained to see anything. A combination of pain, blood and rain serving to blind the boy as he struggled to just breath. It had been almost an hour when the whole scene would be discovered, but it had seemed like forever. Everything after his brother had finished his onslaught has been foggy, both lack of oxygen and blood loss beginning to settle in as a returning squad of fellow Amegakure shinobi stumbled upon the seemingly dead squad. They would quickly rush over to the motionless bodies, checking each one as their hopes ran thin. Then one had come upon Sora, excitingly throwing his hands up as he shouted to his fellow ninja, "Over here!"

FIGHTING STYLE

While he has had little experience with fighting and strongly opposes the thought of conflict he is not stupid. He is a shinobi and he knows the danger associated with being such. That said he still has trouble bringing himself to do 'what is needed' in a fight and can sometimes question himself. If it were ever to come to it Sora would have trouble bringing himself to unfairly fight, but could do so, and it would take a lot to bring himself to end the life of another.

When it comes to actual fighting his style is only theoretical as of now, having not been able to actually demonstrate his powers. Still, he does indeed have a fighting style that has only been supplemented with study and training. He prefers to utilize his clan's hijutsu to create 'great works of art' displaying beauty even in the heat of battle as he folds origami projectiles, tools and weapons. In conjunction with this he is a natural suiton user, allowing him to combine his hijutsu and the water from suiton for fire resistant capabilities, a mainstay within the clan. Furthermore, he has begun to take an interest in bubble based jutsus, but for all purposes his knowledge of suiton is limited for now.

SPECIAL ABILITIES

Shikigami no Mai [Dance of the Formula Paper]

Among the Susanō the Shikigami no Mai is a famed and rightfully feared transformation that allows the user to convert the very fiber of their being into sheets of paper. One can imagine that this would have a multitude of versitile uses, -and they would be right- however, Sora is an exception to this. Due to his botched training and the learning curve of such hijutsu he was just never able to get the whole transformation down yet. Instead he is only able to sustain the transformation partially and often struggles to do so. While he can indeed utilize justu for the transformation he can not achieve full transformation regularly and has only been able to do such under extreme situations. That being said Sora has displayed skill in the transformation in some degree and that is origami. He loves to utilize the transformation to create beautiful origami art and does so by transforming parts of his hand into sheets and pulling from them when he needs to, his fingers deftly weaving swift folds and creases as he works the paper. This may not have a clear combat use, but in doing so Sora has become quite skilled in jutsu that utilizes the transformation to create tools, projectiles and weapons.

Chakra Reserves

When it comes down to ordinary jutsu Sora is surprisingly rather skilled in using ninjutsu and was even able to awaken his natural chakra nature, suiton, before he graduated from the academy. This is in part do to his large chakra reserves allowing him to expend more chakra and therefore he was able to train longer and harder. It has been expressed by both his brother and his former sensei that despite his lackluster performance Sora's reserves are surprisingly high for his age and therefore his potential for growth much larger than most of his peers.
