[Murahira Yoruki]

He had a suspicion his grandmother still wasn’t used to only cooking for the two of them because every time she made lunch, the portion was enough for a big family with four kits even though their family was never that big to begin with. It would have made lunch awkward if Yoruki wasn’t ready to pack the leftover riceballs and steamed meet buns with a table cloth neatly into his backpack and head out to any other of his friends or distant cousins to share it with. He donned his usual grey training pants and red hooded shirt and rushed out of the Murahira compound’s gates.

At least he tried to, but an old, vile fox stood in his way.

Grumpy, who was probably the oldest of all of the foxes the Murahira had on their estate was staring Yoruki down where he was perched beside the wall. Yoruki always doubted this one was domesticated at all judging by the amount of people it chased around to bite and torment in general, with Yoruki taking the top spot as of late.

"No!”

Yoruki reprimanded when the old fox stood and readied himself to jump at him. He swore under his nose and sidestepped, but the fox was persistent, leaping and following every attempt at a dodge. Yoruki had to use Shunshin no Jutsu to get out of their garden and to the main road finally and shake off Grumpy. No one would be able to tell that fox was old watching him, really.

But now, back on the mission. Yoruki’s destination was clear, and as soon as he was nearing one of the gates, the one guarded by a fellow Murahira, he started shouting. "Ruru! I bought lunch!” Pretty voice or not, a shout can be annoying, and Yoruki could be very annoying if he wanted to be. "Ruru! Rurirui! Oh great Raiden of the Cloud Village, heed my call!” He was almost grinning by the end of the sentence, calling for Rui, probably gathering the attention of anyone else near the gates too, not that he was much bothered by it. No one should expect any less from him either. While walking forward, he slid his backpack off from one shoulder and pulled out the little package of riceballs and buns so he could hand it over to the fellow Murahira as soon as possible. It was still warm in his hands.

Faster than Light

DAY AFTER DAY, LIKE A LIFETIME AWAY, I KEEP HOLDIN' ON

Ruru as he was affectionately called would respond at the smell of smoking hot riceballs. The hazelnut fox would peek out from his resting place, being done with his shift, and would soon hop out and start heading over. His rubber boots squeaked with every step, up until he was right there in front of the other clanmate. Placing a hand on the meal and weaving a sign of his own, the current obstacle saving his would be little brother from his assault vanished in a spark of light, only to reappear by itself on the nearby table.

Having decimated the oppoent's defenses, Rui swiftly tackle hugged the other Murahira, bringing himself close and huggling and snuggling the other to make sure all the pent up affection he kept bottled waiting for him to show up had a way to be properly delivered.

"Yoruuuuuuu" He squealed in delight, estatic beyond measure if one were to look at the rapidly wagging tail behind the gate guard. To say that Rui's bond with Yoruki was deep was an understatement. The only reason they couldn't be together more was only because either of them had shinobi work to do, otherwise it would be pretty hard to separate Murahira Yoruki from the clutches of the hazelnut fox-boy.
