The youth grew into a young man during the trip, becoming the retired Jounin's right hand man and bodyguard. Yet he was predisposed to the banditry that got him through his early life. His misbehaviour grew worse and worse, until his greed got the better of him. He attempted a mutiny in the deep sea off the coast of Tide Country, forcing Kiyoshi's hand. He and his compatriots were defeated and marooned on a small island and left to fend for themselves. Near a year on, reports have surfaced from the southeast of Kaze no Kuni: a pirate lord sallies out from caves all along the Salt Coast south of the Bay of Roran, raiding the commerce passing through the seas between there and Tea Country. Intelligence gathered by the ANBU has proved the identity. The Kazekage and his new bodyguard set out to locate and arrest Gen'ichi.
