Oriko stands in a far-off section of the fairly futuristic training grounds, one constructed to be able to replicate, albeit not always well, multiple areas of Arashi no Kuni, from its lush farmland to the bustling and busy capital city, even to the rain-soaked and highly advanced city. It was even capable of flooding in order to potentially simulate sea battles, though he'd never seen anyone use such a feature. Sea battles weren't particularly common, after all, though such a training area could prove useful. For now, Oriko had been the first to show up, and so had chosen to go for a fairly simple urban environment, matching the appearance and the densely humid atmosphere of Amegakure itself. With rain pouring down from the high-vaulted ceiling, it was almost as though they had walked from outside to simply another part of their own hidden village, though the square-shaped buildings had a much more dilapidated appearance. There was some verticality, as getting up and down the buildings could be as simple as scaling the walls with ninja techniques on the outside, or climbing the internal stairways to gain roof or windows access, and there were also some sightline play in the buildings potentially blocking the view. The streets and walkways were somewhat flooded, though only to a height of a few inches, enough to make Oriko's feet splash as he wades through. He doesn't really feel any of the water, save on his hair and over the upper half of his face.
He double-checks that his scrolls are carefully waterproofed in his medical pouch, as well as his weapon pouch and its contents. It was only natural that Amegakure shinobi would have gear that's slightly hydrophobic in order to avoid unnecessary damage. Oriko's body was quite similar, in that most of it was covered in a biotech skinsuit of a deep, dark gray, with the occasional plastic covering over his more vital organs. He keeps his gas mask on, though without the filters in place, its only real purpose was likely to keep insects from getting inside the mask. His voice, therefore, sounds somewhat simulated, filtered through the mask he wears over the bottom half of his face, one of the very few places that the fire from his childhood hadn't burned.
"You guys ready? I've set up the battleground to simulate the slums for a future mission... skrrrk... A spar between the three of us should allow us to figure out a good method for combat in this kind of location... skrrrk."
