After the Raikage’s speech, a massive man of the Fujiyama clan would step forward to take over the nitty-gritty of moving the days’ events along: some of the genin from group C would recognize him as the "trapped” man who had lain in the road beneath his toppled cart the day prior. When the previous fight concluded, he cleared his throat to announce the eighth of the day's fights. "Next up! Uchiha Tokaku of Konohagakure! Versus! Her very own sister, Hatake Shinde of Konohagakure!” Shinde had exchanged her scroll for a Maizun defensive hoodie in bright Kumogakure yellow, the back emblazoned with the Yanki clan symbol: a protective measure that would surely be a boon in the fight to come. There were two vivid yellow stripes painted onto the hard-packed dirt ground of the arena about twenty meters apart: designated starting zones for each of the genin to stand on. They would be instructed to bow, and then the countdown for the round to start would begin. "Three… …two… …one… Begin!” UCHIHA TOKAKU VS. HATAKE SHINDE

Uchiha Tokaku Hatake Shinde

Shinde had well devised her fighting strategies to face off against wielders of Doujutsu, and had also sought to mitigate some of her weaknesses when it came down to Genjutsu. Adorned in her special Yanki suit of armor, vibrant and colorful for the occasion, she'd come into the arena, apprehensive of the foe she'd need to face. Tokaku. Her elder sister. As she looked about the arena, she'd look her over, and very well knew of the fearsomeness of her Sharingan. She wasn't ignorant to the situation. When ordered to bow, she'd do so, before immediately preparing her counter for the most bothersome of Tokaku's arsenal. Crossing her hands in a cross motion, she calls forth before the audience.

"Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!" She summons forth three copies of herself, dividing her Chakra into fourths as they pop before her. Puffs of smoke as the four Shinde intermingle and face Tokaku, a few feet apart as her clones gaze upon her from a few different angles. Tokaku was now in a situation where she had no idea which of the Shinde was which, and before long? They sought to suppress her. Three of the Shinde reach into their pouches and hurl forth no less than thirty Shuriken of which zipped towards her at swift speeds, and what's more, if she had her Sharingan active, she could find that the Shinde in the back seemed to be forming a handseal, as her clones and herself seemed not only wary of Tokaku, but defensive. The young Hatake heiress displayed usage of yet another high ranked powerful technique!

NAME: Kage Bunshin no Jutsu [Shadow Clone Technique]

DESCRIPTION:

The Kage Bunshin technique evenly distributes your chakra between one or more clones with form and substance.



The clones created by this technique are able to utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows, has all of their special abilities, as well as their kekkei genkai. Typically a clone's equipment doesn't retain any special abilities and the clone itself is dispersed when hit with a single attack or incapacitated, although the clone can also choose to disperse itself or be dispersed by the user.



When the clone finally disperses, any new knowledge it has gained along with it's remaining chakra are passed back to the original ninja and any additional clones.

[Uchiha Tokaku]

Tokaku wasn't entirely interested in her match. Not because she didn't want to fight or prove herself, she was fine with that. It was because she was fighting her younger sister. She rather had gotten to face off against an enemy nation shinobi, since she wouldn't have to hold back and could hospitalize, maim or even kill them. With her sister, she had to hold back a lot more. Walking towards the line with her usual bored and expressionless face, her hands in her jacket pockets as she walked rather nonchalantly. Almost as if she was showing how unworried she was about the entire thing. Sighing, she bowed when she was told to, activating her Sharingan at the same time.

Not even a second of straightening back up passed and she'd already sprung into action, performing a single handseal about the same time Shinde used her Shadow Clone jutsu. Luckily, she had a genjutsu that could target multiple people at a time. However, she was hoping to not use this until the second round, as it took a bit of chakra to cast in the first place. No matter. If it was successful, all four should be unable to move due to the pressure they'd feel on their limbs. Then she could make her next move.

This technique causes the target(s) to feel as if they have suddenly had a vast amount of weight, to the point where their body feels as if it might give out to the strain at any moment. Due to this the target(s) are often tricked into moving much more slow and deliberately in the real world where the user can take advantage of their more limited mobility. The technique is triggered by the target(s) seeing the user render a handseal.

[Hatake Shinde]

Genjutsu. Shinde had found herself averting gaze immediately from Tokaku once her hands were raised for a handseal. After all, Shinde was familiar with the worst jutsu Tokaku could cast. She'd seen her use it in the first round. The Bringer of Darkness technique. It was a concern to such a degree that she found herself wary of any similar tricks and techniques. Mainly because Genjutsu was an incredibly powerful genre of jutsu with very few balances or counters. Other than the clones she employed now. Shinde had learned that at least for Genjutsu with the need for a maintenance, when applied to multiple opponents, the drain needed to effect clones was a multiplying effect. What more? As each of the clones that looked Tokaku do her seal? They could swiftly feel the technique's effect right away. It wasn't a mind boggling notion to know they were in a genjutsu.

The effect was simple and powerful, but it wasn't anything subtle.

"Do it." She calls forth, and with it, each of the clones scatter outwards in a wider formation in a semi half circle, facing Tokaku as they try their best to ignore the sensations on their bodies. Of course, they told themselves it was but an illusion, though they could still feel the burden of the weight. Before they continue through with the plan, hurling their arm full of Shuriken out towards Tokaku in a wide spanning salvo, several of them curving and arcing as to overwhelm her with firepower, looking to get the older Uchiha to exhaust her precious chakra even further. Perhaps to even lift the effects of the genjutsu. Though, regardless of this. Assuming their salvo toss was successful, each of them would move towards Tokaku, each of them drawing their swords in a fluid motion from their scabbards.

"Charge!" Closing the distance in their crescent shaped vantage, one of the clones looks to engage Tokaku head on, whilst the other two looked to get around her to push her flanks whilst the original stood along the backline. It was likely unless all three of the clones were dispelled in a fluid motion? It'd be an exchange of blades.

[Uchiha Tokaku]

Tokaku grew a slight smirk as her technique worked, but she wasn't going to actually keep them under one, she was actually testing something out. Her Sharingan darted around as she finally drew her blade, dispelling the jutsu on everyone before it really took too much of an effect as she only wanted to slow them down for a second, using her chakra control, a quick gambit. She figured out who the real Shinde was by how she made the clones move while she stood in the back. Then came the barrage of shuriken coming at her, which she'd fend off by weaving, ducking and using her sword to block a good amount of them, only getting a few tears in her jacket as well as a couple on her legs.

Only five were able to really hit her by the time she was going to be attacked by three clones with their swords. They'd be slow at the time of the attack as Tokaku continues to defend herself from the barrage of shuriken, her eyes quickly darting around, looking for an opening as she moved surprisingly quickly and effectively, showing off her kenjutsu skills. The opening was found by the time the three clones actually moved in with a few shuriken still around. She jumped backwards, doing a somersault in reverse, one of her hands going into her pouch at the same instant. As she rolled up, she'd go over one of the clone’s head, backwards.

She'd time it right enough to where her legs would straighten out kicking with both feet off the shoulder blades to try and push the clone into the swings of the clones and any remaining shuriken. This would springboard her more away from the trio. Bouncing off of one hand and landing on her feet she'd toss a smoke bomb she grabbed, wrapped inside of a paper bomb, which would explode, creating a large cloud of smoke in the air, along with some debris. If it worked, all of the clones would be dealt with. Without missing a beat she'd race towards her sister, curving around to hopefully engage her in kenjutsu so she could save chakra.

[Hatake Shinde]

It was impressive. No doubt. The perceptive prowess of the Sharingan allowed for Tokaku to react to the coming swathe of throwing stars that came blitzing for her person, the added slowness of the clones acting as her salvation as she continued to press her assault and movement. Meanwhile, Shinde herself had found herself studying carefully each movement. As she sustains the genjutsu over her clones though, Shinde immediately capitalized on the opportunity. Tokaku kicks off with both of her legs straightened out along her clone's back. Getting her opponent stuck in the air was just what she was hoping for.

Sending it toppling forward, her clone's blades swing, but are held back in their full force upon that moment. Slightly tilting their katana to try to hit the clone using the flat. This in compensation with the Yanki defensive hoodie armor would prove to be invaluable as there was the slight scraping down, and cushioned strike against the clone's chest. The padding proving to negate the severity of the strike. Instead, sending the clone she kicks off of entering into a roll along the floor before landing upon its knees. After all, Shinde herself was quite skilled at close combat, with a specialization in Bukijutsu at that.

As Tokaku kicks off, she'd find within a split second, the original Shinde dashes behind her, her own sword drawn as Tokaku recovers onto her feet from her handspring and tosses her bomb. In those next moments, the clones eye it, and immediately did two of the clones on either side leap backwards and away, whilst the third whom Tokaku kicked at just a moment ago leaps forward and lands on top of the smoke bomb as the paper bomb sizzles and threatens to explode, looking to contain and cushion the explosion with it's own body. The fiery blast blowing outwards, with the clones raising their hands over their faces as smoke fills the air and some shards of stone hit against their armored bodies. Shinde swings her blade with swift and practiced motion for Tokaku's side then.

Where if they enter into a blade clash, Shinde begins to lean forwards and inwards, their blades etching against one another as she calls forth, "It seems to me that you are fresh out of chakra."

Enhanced Speed:

Through rigorous physical exercise, physical conditioning, and effort, Iruhi is now capable of moving significantly faster than what she could before. When pushing herself to her limits, this allows for her to seemingly even blur before slower opponents.

[Uchiha Tokaku]

Tokaku was successful enough with her movements, even managing to take one of the clones down just with her quick thinking. Now part of the area was covered in smoke, which would also hide the remaining clones. That’s when Tokaku was back on her feet, blocking Shinde’s strike with her odachi, using only one hand to hold it. It was going to be a blade clash with her sister, as if they’re practicing sparring in front of their father.

Tokaku kept her rather bored and uninterested expression, even when Shinde leaned in to state what’s obvious. "Correct… I only have a little over one fourth of my entire chakra reserves…” She said plainly, not bothered by her sister’s attempt at a taunt. This is before she’d start to push Shinde back with her sword, aiming to use not only her height but weight class advantage over her sister, both hands now holding her hilt.

A taunting and sinister appearing grin could almost be seen creeping from under her mask, which could probably be seen by her sister. "However… If you can only have an advantage and even be able to put me on the defense only when I’m not at full strength… Doesn’t that say more about how weak you are compared to me?” Tokaku said with a cocky and arrogant tone in her voice.

She was aiming to bait her sister a little, just before using as much of her strength as she could to try and shove Shine back as they locked blades so she could give her just enough distance to jump backwards, digging back into her pouch while also trying to go back into the smoke to hide herself again and prepare her next plan, pulling out a few objects from her pouch, still holding her odachi with one hand as she did.

[Hatake Shinde]

As Tokaku began to press down with her heavier blade, the odachi, slowly beginning to oppress her with both hands, Shinde had tilted her stance, sideways, her legs digging into the soil as their blades match with one another. Looking into the reflection of her blade to see those glowing crimson eyes. There was a moment that Shinde was shoved back, and in those moments, Tokaku retreats as she skids slightly back along the dirt as Tokaku sought to obscure herself. The original Shinde and her clones rallying together. Very well then. If that was how Tokaku wanted to play? Shinde sheaths her blade with a fluid motion, and with it, weaves a few short handseals. A jutsu from her own ninja handbook. Puffing up her chest, she exhales as she calls to the audience.

"Katon: Hainejirei no Jutsu! (Fire Release: Ash Contortion Technique)" Exhaling forth a cloud of grey which intermingled with Tokaku's smoke, it'd seemingly obscure the field. That was, until it began to spin. The ashes beginning to stir and meld around Tokaku's general location, before Tokaku would find the ashes became hot. Very hot. Singing her skin and making it hard to see, her eyes likely irritated by the hot particles. Luckily, she wore a mask as to filter air, but it was clear that this jutsu was a dangerous one indeed. For if Tokaku didn't reveal herself, she would feel the heat only intensify like a wave or bath as the singing and smoldering would begin to become like a miniature oven, Tokaku's clothes beginning to singe and burn. If she didn't reveal herself? Well...It could lead to second degree burns. A sinister and useful jutsu against those that would rely on hiding like this, or in tight spaces.

"I've made measures to combat against your strength." She says, her clones remaining sharp, keeping their visage on their surroundings, and especially Tokaku. If she wanted to hide like a rat, she'd need to be smoked out. Assuming she remained, the ash cloud would begin to glow orange and red, almost like a kiln, as the swirling ash cloud became more like a dome, making it glow a most beautiful color as it contorted and twisted upon itself. What now then?

NAME: Katon: Hainejirei no Jutsu [Fire Release: Ash Contortion Technique]

DESCRIPTION:
Either through creating through exhalation or using pre-existing ash, the caster of this technique heats and manipulates ashes into creating a contorting. burning cloud around a target. The ash is difficult to see through, but is also incredibly hot, gaining further heat as the ash continues its rotations. The ash is capable of burning clothes and inflicting up to second degree burns upon a target or targets after a whole post. However, has little to no ability to keep a target locked inside.

[Uchiha Tokaku]

Tokaku wouldn't need long to set up her plan, readying her tools. She was hoping to finally finish settling this. The moment the clones would rally near and Shinde would fill her area with hot ash, Tokaku acted, throwing her sword with her jacket tied to it closest towards Shinde’s general direction before she entered the smoke, the blade lodging itself into the ground. She was aiming to distract Shinde by making her think she was going to come out of the smoke from one direction. Not only was her jacket tied to the blade but she also had the three remaining exploding tags slapped on in a manner so that they could be clearly seen in just one glance. They wouldn't go off however. Everything here was meant to only misdirect her three opponents.

She would actually come out of the ash and smoke from the opposite side, some small burns and redding on her skin from the hot ash. It did hurt, but she would live. She had been through worse burns thanks to her other sister. The next step was to throw her shuriken attached to wire aiming to use her distraction and her Sharingan to properly ensnare her sister and her two clones in one swift move. If she did, the fight would be over. She acted as fast as she could with as much skill as she could muster, hoping this would be all she would need to catch her younger sibling off guard and trapped. "It's over, Shinde-chan, I win. Nice try though.” Tokaku would say hoping her victory was clear now, she was starting to get tired and hated to drag out her fights.

DESCRIPTION:
An extremely unsuspecting move and widely adaptable jutsu which utilizes the clan's familiarity with shuriken and the Sharingan. In the midst of battle, the user can throw their shuriken with wires attached, seemingly aimed for the opponent keeping in mind all the deflections and dodged projectiles. Using the shuriken to spread and set the wires around, they can position them to suddenly bind their target, requiring only to trigger a change of position of the set wires, such as cutting one of them, causing the others to instantly rearrange. The neck, hands, appendages, and torso and other body parts will become caught in a complex array of strong wire which prevents movement. It can also be combined with an array of other traps as well.

[Hatake Shinde]

Shinde was cautious. Of course she was. She'd honed her skills, trained hard over the past year, and had pushed herself to limits that she never would have just a year or so ago. When Tokaku threw her blade with her jacket attached, utilizing it as a cover or so within the ashen cloud? The ashes continued to swirl and blaze as Shinde listened. However, she listened carefully. That was...Until the paper bombs that rest along that jacket would of course ignite from her fire jutsu. Sizzle. BOOM! Her jutsu was hot enough so that it could inflict severe burns along clothes as well as people. The paperbombs was a trivial matter as Tokaku's jacket caught fire. The blast would disperse both smoke and ash into the air, removing Tokaku's cover as she is revealed.

As the Shuriken are hurled towards Shinde and her clones, Shinde throws her own kunai outwards, an explosive tag attached to the ending of it as it sizzles and explodes, creating another blast to disperse and knock aside the Shuriken and their wires all the same. Preventing the Uchiha from utilizing her wire related jutsu. The explosion bursting outward sending those throwing stars flying far away. Shinde's two remaining clones gaze upon Tokaku firmly, before they, as well as Shinde begin to advance, closing around Tokaku on all sides again, but slowly, their swords raised. Looking at Tokaku, now slightly bloodied from Shuriken cuts, and burned, Shinde waited for Tokaku then. "It's over."

"I've got you outnumbered three to one."

[Uchiha Tokaku]

An explosion would cause the smoke and ash to be cleared, not just before Tokaku was able to slip an object from her pouch into her right glove, it being held in place between her skin and the cloth. This was just about the time she aimed to use a few shuriken with wire to ensnare her sister. Making her sigh slightly in annoyance. She just wanted to move to the next round with at least some chakra left. Was she being stubborn, yes. However she was also enjoying the fight so far. She knew at this point she wasn't the only one low on chakra. She could see that her sister was getting there too. In fact, it let her know who to go for at this point.

Tokaku pulled out two kunai, one for each hand just as Shinde and her clones would surround her. The silver haired Uchiha would only face the direction of the one she knew was real, turning her focus towards her. Using a very small amount of chakra to give a small push, she'd let the bomb fall free from her glove, which would engulf the four in a cloud of smoke. She'd use the surprise smoke to give her an opening. Shinde wasn't the only fast one, as Tokaku also had more than enough speed to keep up with her in kenjutsu. Using that, she'd let Shinde’s jitte stab straight through her shoulder as she aimed to use her weight and momentum, along with her willingness to be harmed just to get close.

A strong tackle using all of her speed and strength she could muster in order to drag her sister out of the smoke and to the ground with her on top, her blood splattering to the ground and on her sister. It stung but her adrenaline was pumping a bit too much for her to notice the full extent at the moment. That'd be a problem for future Tokaku. Raising her kunai with both hands and without skipping a beat, she'd aim to bring the tip downwards towards her sister, hoping now someone would step in to finally end the fight. Of course, if she wasn't stopped, she'd do it herself and settle for her strongest right or left to knock her sister out.

An extremely unsuspecting move and widely adaptable jutsu which utilizes the clan's familiarity with shuriken and the Sharingan. In the midst of battle, the user can throw their shuriken with wires attached, seemingly aimed for the opponent keeping in mind all the deflections and dodged projectiles. Using the shuriken to spread and set the wires around, they can position them to suddenly bind their target, requiring only to trigger a change of position of the set wires, such as cutting one of them, causing the others to instantly rearrange. The neck, hands, appendages, and torso and other body parts will become caught in a complex array of strong wire which prevents movement. It can also be combined with an array of other traps as well.

[Hatake Shinde]

It was true in a sense. Shinde had never known just how stubborn Tokaku could be. Even when faced against unfavorable odds, with resources expended, and with a small score of wounds, she stood defiantly, those crimson red eyes refusing to concede. Slowly surrounding Tokaku on three sides, Shinde slowly slides her right leg backwards, her blade centered along her body. Before Tokaku then drops yet another smoke bomb. Tokaku rushes forward in a rapid charge, almost in what seemed like a banzai charge, and in that moment, Shinde herself decided to exercise a virtue in some ways. Patience. As Tokaku advanced, Shinde retreated, keeping her eyes on Tokaku as she made her rapid charge. The younger of the sisters pulled back.

Until her clones made themselves known. It was getting difficult, because Shinde didn't want to take any action that would otherwise seriously hurt Tokaku. They were blood after all. However, Tokaku was more than willing to harm herself to attain victory. In that next moment, all three of the Shinde sought to converge upon the Uchiha girl. Their blades raised, with Shinde herself clenching her blade handily, perhaps looking to thrust into her from three sides. Slash her down. Only for the Hatake heiress to shake her head. Pause. Then realize that it wasn't worth it. It was time to show some restraint. There were more than a dozen different things she imagined she could do. However, for what?

For pride?

Shinde didn't have anything to prove to anyone.

"I concede!" She calls out, and with it, all four combatants might skid to a stop, their swords pointed at one another. "I concede." She says with a deep breath.

[Uchiha Tokaku]

The determination to win at whatever means, the willingness to kill or be killed, even when outnumbered or outmatched. Anyone who knew her father would practically see her eyes match his in that moment, in case there was any question that Tokaku was Toshizō’s daughter. It was the eyes of a demon, which struck fear in many shinobi. She stopped however, her feet sliding slightly on the ground, the tip of the blade barely a few centimeters from touching her. Her sister conceded. Her gamble worked out, she was able to take advantage of the fact that they're blood to take the win, as she knew that her sister wasn't able to go that far with her sibling. Standing into a proper position, she smiled at Shinde.

"Vey well. Proctor, the match is over.” Tokaku said, her eyes going back to black as she deactivated her Sharingan. Walking closer to her sister, she held out her hand, hoping to shake in an expression of good sportsmanship. "You did good. Sorry for my words earlier, they weren't earnest. I was only trying to throw you off. However, keep this in mind. Be willing to do whatever you can to win in a real mission. Others will take it even further than I will, they won't stop either.” Tokaku added as she walked around to pick up what tools she could reasonably recover along with her sword which she sheathed back.

She wasn't able to recover her jacket however of course. No matter, she had extras. Now she just needed to be patched up and prepare herself for the next round.

Special Abilities:

Sharingan [1 Tomoe]
The girl unlocked her Sharingan after teammates died in the last chuunin exams she was in, her mother died after the chuunin exams ended. The trauma has given her One Tomoe in both of her eyes. They allow her to see chakra in color, although not as good as a Byakugan. It also gives her a better view of the actions of her opponent, although not as good as a Two or Three Tomoe Sharingan. It can help her keep track of movements well enough to aid her in combat, nonetheless.

Chakra Control
Tokaku always had good chakra control and only perfected it as she’s now gotten older. It helps her keep up with the toll of jutsus, by using almost just the right amount of chakra.

Kenjutsu Princess
So she could handle close range and also so she could eventually learn how to use a White Chakra Blade which her other clan is infamous for– Hatake Toshizou taught her how to use most types of swords in spite of her true skills in genjutsu and ninjutsu. She has been training for a few years nearly nonstop in practicing kenjutsu since she was first taught. Currently, her overall physicality and skill for using kenjutsu is boosted enough to where she is more than capable of keeping up with most other kenjutsu practitioners

As the fight drew to a close and Shinde shouted her concession, choosing a loss over brutally harming her sister, a gasp rippled through the crowd: some cheering, some booing, but it was clear that her choice had elicited a passionate response in the audience regardless of which side of the line they fell on. "Uchiha Tokaku wins!" the announcer shouted, and the crowd erupted in a fresh cacophony of noise. The girls were both escorted from the ring by medics on standby, their injuries carefully tended to no matter how minor in order to ensure they were as fresh as possible for the next fight to come. Shinde's Maizun defensive hoodie was temporarily confiscated; then, perhaps surprisingly, returned, though without the chakra-conductive protective layer that was housed within the fabric. It was now just a comfy yellow hoodie, the Yanki clan symbol proudly shouting across the back. Tokaku, as she was tended to, was explicitly told that her chakra reserves were dangerously low, and if she performed even one jutsu too many she would run the risk of passing out due to chakra exhaustion. As it stood, she would be practically dead on her feet already, and the medics hotly debated whether or not she should be allowed to continue before finally, begrudgingly, giving the young Uchiha the greenlight to persist.
