Today was an interesting day, not because of what Asahi was getting himself into but rather who he was tasked with helping out: none other than one of his boss' kids. The two hadn't spoken a whole lot about family as the Kyokujitsu had only been working for the man for a few months at this point, but he did know that Kiyoshi had at least a couple children one of which was the aforementioned trainee Nayu. She was making her way through the academy and needed a bit of help learning to control her chakra, a skill that the special jounin was very familiar with and was more than happy to offer his assistance.

While tutoring younger shinobi was something that Asahi had done many times over this one came with a twinge of nervousness as word of this specific training session would no doubt make its way back to the Kazekage and it would be a very awkward conversation if his tutelage wasn't up to par. The man took a deep breath as he sat cross legged in a section of the Suna training grounds, eyes closed but chakra permeating through the area as he worked on getting in a bit of practice with his own sensory skills while awaiting the arrival of the young student.

As Nayu approached the training grounds, the promising warmth of the day enveloped her. Her preparedness for the heat was evident in her attire, with her hair neatly tied back and her outfit designed for mobility and comfort. A short pink haori added a touch of flair to her ensemble as she made her way forward.

Observing a young man in a state of meditation as she neared the designated meeting point, Nayu chose to approach him with a sense of quiet respect. Drawing upon her control over sand, a skill she wielded with finesse, she extended a gentle tendril towards the cross-legged figure. The sand, a manifestation of her presence, delicately formed her greeting in the air around him.

"Konnichiwa," Nayu would have spoken softly, her demeanor warm and welcoming as her jewel-like eyes sparkled with curiosity. "I am Aeru Nayu." The sand, now an extension of her communication, continued to dance and shift, echoing her words. "Are you perhaps Kyokujitsu Asahi-san?"

Though the answer seemed evident given the circumstances, Nayu's inquiry was both courteous and prudent, ensuring clarity in their interaction. With a readiness to engage in the day's training under Asahi's guidance, Nayu awaited his response and any instructions he might have.

For a while all was still, well as still as the wind shifted dunes of sand could be in a desert, but that was something Asahi had become accustomed to over the years and it didn't break his concentration as it may have done when he was much younger; feeling the very ground shift beneath you was an interesting sensation and no two times was it ever the same. Perhaps a little trickle one time, an entire buckets worth the next, it was easy to see how this landscape easily and effortlessly swallowed things up.

Eventually a ping of chakra would get picked up by the Kyokujitsu but it was surprisingly larger than what he was expecting as if someone was using a technique. The man's eyes opened right as the young girl began her greeting and his eyes shifted from Nayu to the sand floating around him spelling out her hello. Well that was interesting. Immediately he got flashbacks of both Arashi and Takato who had similar abilities and all the mischief the former caused with them; hopefully the student before him wouldn't follow in the same footsteps.

"I am, a pleasure to meet you." Asahi replied as he rose to his feet. "So we're working on your chakra control today, yeah? Probably the least fun thing I did growing up but super useful. Let's get started then." He added before putting a couple feet of distance between them. "Let's see you try the transformation technique for starters, try to go for something you aren't all that comfortable with."

His thinking was that an unfamiliar form would require Nayu to concentrate more on the image rather than the amount of chakra she was using for the technique which would give them a base to improve upon. In time it would all be second nature for her but that would only come with a balance between her mental image and her control of chakra.

With a bright smile, Nayu nodded in agreement, her eyes sparkling with determination. "Thank you, Asahi-san! I'm ready to give it my best shot," the sand chirped as if her voice had been infused with cheerful enthusiasm. Adjusting her stance slightly, she took a deep breath, focusing her thoughts on the task at hand, her hands forming the needed handseals.

As she closed her eyes, Nayu's mind raced with possibilities, considering which form to attempt for her transformation. Suddenly, a whimsical idea sparked within her—a playful homage to her best friend with his white hair and beautiful blue eyes. With a giggle bubbling up within her, Nayu imagined her friend's gentle smile, his comforting presence. Drawing upon her chakra with a sense of childlike wonder, she visualized the transformation taking shape around her, pouring her heart and soul into the image. Human transformations were always a bit harder for Nayu than the rest.

For a fleeting moment, Nayu felt a surge of energy coursing through her, a tantalizing hint of success. With a hopeful flutter of her eyelashes, she dared to open her eyes. However, as reality set in, Nayu's smile faltered, replaced by a gentle frown of disappointment. Instead of her friends's likeness, she found herself unchanged. "I... I tried," she murmured softly, her sand letters tinged with a hint of disappointment. "I suppose I'll have to try something else?" she mused.

The girl was certainly spirited which was a good sign as sometimes the idea of training was daunting enough for some to try and skip it and make no mistake what every shinobi went through when trying to increase their skill was difficult but there was no progress without practice. Asahi would watch as Nayu began to focus herself for the attempt, her chakra beginning to swirl within her yet it lacked the balance needed to affect the entirety of a person. There was a brief surge and then... nothing. The technique failed but it had given the special jounin a good baseline of where they needed to start.

"Not a problem at all, that's the reason we're here today, so that an unfamiliar form won't be an issue for you in the future." He replied with a smile. With the initial plan being a bit too advanced for the girl it was time for plan B which to be honest was something they were going to get to anyway but now it had just been pushed up in the order of things. "Instead of changing into someone else how about we just focus on you for now. Try and make three clones of yourself, and work on keeping the chakra for all of them balanced and in control so they look as perfect as possible."

While some may have seen this as a way to train one's chakra reserves instead this actually worked really well as a practice of controlling one's chakra since any lapse in focus would lead to either less clones being created or them being 'lacking' in some way.

Nayu focused her chakra once again, this time with Asahi's guidance ringing in her ears. With a deep breath, she began forming the hand seals, channeling her energy into the creation of three clones. As her chakra extended outward, she visualized each clone taking shape, but the distribution of her energy was not as precise as she had hoped.

The first clone emerged, appearing almost identical to Nayu herself—her features sharp, her stance confident. A small smile tugged at Nayu's lips as she glanced at her perfect replica, a surge of pride swelling within her.

However, as she attempted to create the second clone, Nayu felt her concentration falter slightly. The chakra wavered, causing the clone to materialize with subtle imperfections—the features slightly distorted, the posture a bit off. Nayu frowned slightly, recognizing her lapse in focus, but she remained determined to press on.

With a final effort, Nayu summoned the last of her chakra to create the third clone. But this time, her energy was scattered and unfocused, resulting in a haphazard manifestation. The third clone appeared misshapen and incomplete, lacking the clarity and detail of its predecessors.

Nayu sighed softly, acknowledging her shortcomings with a sense of humility. "I'm sorry, Asahi-san. I think I did something wrong," the sand carried her murmured, her voice would have been tinged with disappointment had she had one. She turned to Asahi, seeking guidance and encouragement in the face of her failure.

Switching from one technique to another may have been a bit jarring but they were jutsu that Nayu was no doubt practicing daily either in the academy or on her own so all that would have been different was the amount of chakra and focus she was putting into her attempts. It'd be a little tough no doubt but the had plenty of time to practice so there was no need to rush or for her to feel disheartened at failed attempts. Besides, pushing oneself during training was the only way to improve as natural talent would only take someone so far.

Asahi would watch on as the girl created her clones, the first a spot on replica that showed precise chakra control and great understanding of the technique. The special jounin could sense the slightly off kilter expulsion of chakra and it showed in Nayu's attempt at a second clone: a hunched, slightly warped visage of the girl that looked like it was being pushed and pulled by gravity at the same time. Whether her focus had lapsed due to the amount of clones or how the second one came out it had affected the girl to the point where the third clone was a nearly opaque blob that could hardly be considered a person.

It was clear Nayu knew how to perform these techniques successfully but her problem seemed to lay in remaining focused while channeling chakra. He'd look at the sand shift into an apology and raise a hand as if to dismiss it. "No need to apologize, this is why we're here. I can't tell you how many times it took me to make the same number of clones. With that said, I think the problem lies with your focus on larger tasks. Your first clone was perfect but that same focus you had wasn't maintained with the second and third ones. You need to memorize that level of control you used for that first clone everytime and have it become the norm. Give it one more try then we'll move onto something else."

As the chakra surged through her, Nayu felt a sense of clarity wash over her. She visualized each clone with crystal clarity, ensuring that every detail was accounted for. With a swift motion, she executed the hand seals, channeling her chakra with unwavering focus.

The first clone emerged once again, nearly identical to Nayu herself—sharp features, confident stance, and all. But this time, she didn't allow herself to revel in its perfection. Instead, she immediately moved on to the second clone, maintaining her focus with unwavering determination.

To her delight, the second clone materialized with much greater accuracy, mirroring Nayu's form with only minor discrepancies. Encouraged by her progress, Nayu pressed forward, channeling the last of her chakra into the creation of the third clone.

With a final surge of energy, Nayu visualized the third clone taking shape, pouring her focus into every detail. Yet despite her best efforts, the third clone remained slightly flawed. Its features were not as sharp, and its posture was not as confident as the others. Yet, compared to her previous attempt, it was a vast improvement—more defined, more solid, more recognizable as a reflection of Nayu herself.

Turning to Asahi, Nayu couldn't help but smile, gratitude mixed with a hint of disappointment shining in her eyes. "It's not perfect, but I think it's so much better than before. I really need to improve my focus on the larger tasks as you said Asahi-san — I'll keep my focus, in my free time, on this exercise until I get it right." The sand changed its shape with each new sentence a reflection of her inner state as Nayu felt a bit weary trying to do the Henge no Jutsu and the Bunshin no Jutsu which had hit on her chakra and mental reserves.

With what looked like renewed confidence Nayu would once again try her hand at the clone technique, with her first attempt being spot on like last time and her second being even better! Asahi could feel that the young student's chakra was a lot more focused and precise and it was showing in her efforts. The third clone, unfortunately, left something to be desired and was a prime example of the girl still needing to get more practice in. In any event, Nayu had shown that she was taking the lessons to heart and there was little doubt in the Kyokujitsu's mind that in time the girl would be able to perform these techniques to an even greater degree with no issue.

Spectacled eyes would scan across the sand as it shifted into various sentences 'speaking' for the girl. What had caused her to be unable to speak was unknown to the man and it was none of his business though part of him did wonder how the less traditional method of communication would fare during actual operations. That was years away, however, and much like he had told Nayu to do, Asahi needed to focus on the task at hand.

"You did a lot better this time, I could feel the precision in your chakra aside from that last clone, but with enough practice you'll be able to make a hundred without issue." Asahi replied as he began to put a bit of space between them. "As promised, we'll move onto something different to round out your training today. I want you to prepare the substitution technique and prepare to switch places with something. I'm going to create a seal that binds movement and your job is to not get caught in it, ok?"

Assuming there were no questions Asahi would give the girl a few moments to ready herself before weaving through three seals and placing his hands on the ground. From his epicenter an intricate seal would emanate out ten meters aiming to trap anything --and anyone-- caught within it. The seal was quick moving and even quicker acting so if Nayu didn't act fast and focused she'd find herself unable to move.

After three hand-seals, the user will slap both hands on the ground and summon an intricate spherical seal on the ground, ten meters in diameter, with the user at the epicenter. Anyone or anything standing on the ground within ten meters is then sealed to the ground itself, locking their feet in place. They will be stuck in place until the seal is broken, which can be achieved by destroying the ground it is summoned on. People who were not inside the range can move over the surface of the seal once it's been summoned without any issue.

Nayu nodded firmly at Asahi's instructions, determined to meet the challenge head-on. "Got it, Asahi-san. I'll do my best," she replied, the sand carried her resolute voice.

As the seal began to form, Nayu focused intensely, preparing herself to execute the substitution technique as best as she could. With a quick glance around, she located a nearby rock and made a mental note of its position. As the binding seal threatened to ensnare her, Nayu wasted no time channeling her chakra with precision and speed, Nayu executed the substitution in a split-second timing, vanishing from her original position in a puff of smoke. In her place appeared a nearby rock.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Nayu grinned at her success under the bamboo mouthguard. "How was it, Asahi-san? Did I do it right? Or should I have been faster? This was a very close call, a little bit more and I would have been caught in the seal, after all," she stated, her voice tone would have reflected a mix of satisfaction and hesitation, if she had one, instead the sand letters continued to carry it in her stead.

Nayu was satisfied that she escaped the seal successfully, but she was unsure if her chakra control and the speed at which she performed the jutsu were up to Asahi's standards. She was after all slightly tired from executing jutsus one after another.

While he may have gave Nayu a bit longer to find an object to replace herself with than an opponent normally would the rate at which the seal moved to trap her was all the same and once the technique began there'd be nothing Asahi could do to allow for any extra time so the student would have to focus hard to ensure that she got away in time. Passively the special jounin could feel the swell of chakra as Nayu attempted the substitution technique and though it was coursing quickly it was under control and in a poof the girl had switched places with a rock. A nod of contentment came from the man as he looked to find the mute student who was a few feet away.

"You did well! I think that's the first time someone's ever gotten away from that jutsu actually. Your control was great and didn't falter at all considering how quickly you had to perform the substitution." He replied with a smile. It was clear that Nayu had some skill with chakra control before to begin with and for the most part her only fault was keeping the same level of focus when it came to more demanding tasks, but that was something that would come with time and more practice.

"You've done a great job today, Ms. Nayu. Keep practicing on those clones and your transformation technique to get more familiar with them and you'll be a genin in no time!" He'd stop short of bringing up Kiyoshi as Asahi wasn't quite sure what the overall relationship was between them, but if the man asked how training went the Kyokujitsu would be sure to give top marks. "Well, I won't hold you up from the rest of your day. If you ever need help with anything else please don't hesitate to reach out to me."

Nayu was overjoyed when Asahi complimented her on her chakra control. She had put in a lot of hard work to hone her skills, and it was great to see her efforts finally pay off. Successfully avoiding a jutsu that few others could was a testament to her dedication and talent.

"Thank you so much, Asahi-san," Nayu replied with a grateful smile, her eyes filled with appreciation, as the sand carried her thoughts. "I'm thrilled to hear that I did well. Your guidance and encouragement mean the world to me."

Asahi's feedback reassured Nayu that she was on the right track with her training. She made a mental note to continue practicing her clones and transformation technique with enthusiasm, determined to improve even further.

"I'll definitely keep practicing, Asahi-san," Nayu said earnestly. "And if I ever face any hurdles in my training, I won't hesitate to ask for your help."
