In the Kyokujitsu clan, one was not considered a warrior until they became the rank of Genin. So this was a very special time to say the least for the young Kyokujitsu. Namely because today was exam day. For a while, she'd met the requisites to pass the test, but she was urged to stay in the academy. Make bonds. Get to know people. Connect with her fellow students. So she did. And got to meet a lot of people along the way. When she made her way to the Sunagakure academy, she was beyond excited. "Senshi the Senshi. Workin' to be Genin! Kicking people's butts and serving them a plenty!" She calls to herself. Before slowly stopping in the hallway. Before leaping backwards and arching her back as she does a backflip.

"Today's the day!" Rushing into class, she finds herself waiting for her name to be called up so she can show what she could do. Transformation? Easy peasy. Bunshin? How many do ya want? Escaping from ropes? Hah. In her sleep. Senshi danced with the prospects. Though, she did wish that her loved ones were here to congratulate her. She slowly takes a hairtie and grasps her long blonde hair and ties it into a ponytail as her bright blue eyes look ahead. Today would be the last time she'd be forced to sit in this classroom. Starting today?! She'd be a ninja for real! Wasn't that awesome?

Today was indeed an important day. One that would linger in the minds of this class for the rest of their lives. Success here would mean becoming Genin, and from there, the possibilities were endless on where their paths would lead them. Some had considered becoming shinobi since they day they could actually dream, others were doing so for honor or tradition. Thinking back on her own graduation from these halls, it was easy to consider most of her time here being negative due to one event. Of course, her time here had not been all bad... What she got out of it were some of the foundations that she taught for years as an instructor, and still used herself in the field. This in mind, it was just as important that anyone who did graduate was capable of these starting points before being allowed to proceed further. Hence the Genin Exams... Not to mention, that they would be under her charge should they leave this place, and the last thing she wanted was to pass anyone who wasn't ready. Still, her attendance here wasn't just academic... After all, some of these students had learned under her. One in particular she had watched grow up... As she made her way toward the main floor, she'd note Senshi with a calm expression, her hands resting behind her back as she looked at her and then winked with a small smile. That girl was literally like a little sister to her. She had babysat her, protected her, and even dealt with a lot of her madness at times. In the end, that bond was made through a lot of knowing what the girl had gone through.... And...what she had done to make sure she had this chance.... Of course, that didn't mean she intended to play favorites here. She had a job to do, but she was there to be supportive also. After all, from what she could tell, among the families that were there to watch, she didn't see the girl's aunt...which left a bitter taste in her mouth... It had been her hope that maybe the woman would finally get a clue...but sadly, that didn't appear to be the case. Maybe it didn't matter...she was there....and she could only hope that would be enough to see Senshi through... "Before we begin with the exams...understand that this is a test of the skills you have learned here at the Academy...the time you spent here...developing the techniques that will not only protect you in the field, but also protect those within Kaze no Kuni and beyond. Having made it this far in your training...you now stand beside the man who have done the same...and you should be proud of being among their ranks...if not more so than your instructors and myself..." In saying this, Arashi would then hold up her hand as the cheers would die down. "As students...you will be tested on those foundations and those that show that they have mastered these techniques will be promoted to the Rank of Genin. Yet, those of you that do not pass...know that this isn't failure or the end....these exams are not just for the benefit of your instructors and myself...they are for your benefit as well...and to show you were you may improve...should you choose to do so...and attempt again at a later time..." That said, Arashi would then nod her head toward them as she took her seat. "Now then....let us begin..." The names would be called and the exams would begin. As each student stepped forward, the next set would follow after them and perform. Until finally.... "Kyokujitsu Sensehi..." She hadn't really seen her aunt in quite some time. After her uncle's mysterious disappearance, as well as the hardships that came out of it? Senshi found herself hopping around from home to home, much like a social nomad as she ventured from homestead to homestead. Family to family. A few weeks or a month at a time. Until eventually, she was here. How could Senshi have known that she was responsible for getting a man killed? That she was subjected to a type of abuse or evil that she didn't understand. That didn't matter now though. She was excited. Beyond excited as she found herself seeing Arashi. Arashi was the one to give a speech!

Senshi clapped her hands and cheered alongside all the other students here to take the graduation exam. The message was powerful. That these skills weren't just for her, but also to protect the people of Kaze no Kuni and the village. That. That was some powerful stuff. Waiting patiently, or well, about as patiently as she could, the small blonde would find herself stepping up to view Arashi with a big wide grin. She knew she was ready. Heck. She'd been ready for this for a long time. And when she was passed? When she had that headband? Her clan would recognize her as a true and proper warrior. For some odd reason, she hoped Arashi would be proud of her. Because as far as she was concerned? Well...

Arashi was the closest thing Senshi had to a big sister, a role model, and daresay at times a guardian angel in times of trouble. Arashi in a way had helped raise this stupid kid up to be a slightly more competent and less stupid kid. Standing in the examination room, she'd taken the liberty to give a little mock salute.

"I'm ready!" She says with nothing less but the utmost confidence.

Within the examnation room, isolated from the eyes of those outside in wait, Senshi would stand before Arashi, Yuta...the current head of the academy and finally Senshi's class instructor. The three would remain seated as they appeared to wait for the girl to arrive, Arashi releasing a deep breath before then closing her eyes. She wasn't the religious sorts...but even she felt that the girl might need a prayer or two just for luck. Still, upon seeing the young girl's expression and the confidence she seemed to have, the Jounin would relax a bit before then seeing the mock salute with a raised brow as if to tell her to watch her behavior. "You are to perform three of the foundational jutsu that are taught here at the academy. Upon displaying your ability to do this, we will decide if you are ready to be promoted to the rank of Genin. Failure to do so will mean that you are to remain as an Academy student until the next time examination can be completed..." In saying this, Yuta would stroke his beard as he nodded in the girl's direction ,leading to him speak once again. "The first technique is the Transformation Technique...." When she was called in, the first technique she was asked to perform was the transformation jutsu. If there was one thing that Senshi didn't lack? It was a strong sense of imagination. When called upon, the small girl thought about what to turn into. Before thinking back to her oldest memories. Something really vivid that she could match each minute detail of. "Henge!" She says, and with a poof of smoke? There standing before all three of them was a seemingly middle aged looking man. Somewhat furrowed and old looking, with a gruff appearance. Though. For Arashi. It wasn't just any man. It was him.

The uncle. Looking at her with that same stoic and somewhat disappointed look. Those coal dark eyes looking as if they were filled with a level of disdain and disapproval. Before a gruff voice calls out. "I could hardly consider it my best work. But at least it isn't a failure."  She says it in that almost cruel baritone. Dismissive, and yet also spiteful somehow at the same time. Looking towards Arashi in this form, there was a moment where they step a little closer, as to show she could maintain the transformation and move as well in this state. Before resting along the tabletop.

"You alright? You look like you've seen a ghost." They call out. Before slowly poofing and dispelling the transformation. Revealing the small blonde for what she was.

DESCRIPTION:

After performing the necessary hand seals, the user transforms their appearance to become that of another person, animal or even an inanimate object. This is considered one of the most advanced academy techniques, as it requires a constant emission of chakra as well as a constant mental focus to maintain the technique; suffering moderate pain or severe distractions will cause the technique to falter.



Shinobi are limited to transforming into objects roughly their size and their mass remains unaffected. Furthermore, this transformation is purely a shift in their physical appearance, conveying no specialized abilities of the person, animal, or object to the user upon their transformation. Transforming into a wolf does not grant a more keen nose nor would changing into a bear grant a sudden increase in strength.

It wasn't often when you happened to see a dead man among the living. It was even less often that you saw them and you were the one that killed them. Of course, to most people, the man had vanished without a trace and had been thought to have abandoned his family. Granted, the truth was far more horrific. Still, seeing him before her, Arashi could only narrow her eyes slightly as it was certainly an interesting choice. But then, considering it was easy to remember someone that hurt you, it was possible that this was one of her best transformations. As the figured leaned in, their voice graveled, eyes intense, Arashi would remain where she was, unmoved as the day she had seen this man's face for the final time. Unexpressive before they returned to their normal figure once more. "Hmm..." Yuta would appear to be jotting down notes as well as the instructor beside him. As Arashi would begin to do the same, she'd almost feel a small tingle in the back of her neck, as though recalling something to memory. Though such thoughts were quickly returned to the vault that was her head before then clearing her throat. "The next is Bunshin no Jutsu...You are to create two clones of yourself..." Clone jutsu? Just two? "You got it!" She says as her hands flash through each of the seals. Before she then calls out. "Bunshin no Jutsu." She says, and with a poof of smoke, next to her wee two identical copies of the girl. Though she was confident she could make more than that if she really wanted to. Heck. It might have been easier to do that instead of just two. The clone technique was kind of stinky, and she'd been really excited to learn more. But enough of that. As the clones form, she looks towards each of them, and them at her, before she begins pacing around the room. The clones follow after her, and eventually even move in adjacent directions. Granted...

They were just illusions made of chakra. No shadows about them or physical mass. With that said, she'd then perform the ram seal to dispel them with ease. Another two poofs of smoke and the clones were gone. "Easy peasy. Lemon squeezy." She didn't seem particularly challenged in the slightest regarding the performance of that technique, and in the next couple of seconds, she figured the last one to go was the substitution right? Simple and easy to do. Anticipating it, she'd keep in mind what was in the room, and prepared to give a little demonstration. Happy to see Arashi as one of her examiners, she really felt like she was showing her stuff.

"Have care young lady..." As her instructor would speak in a serious tone, he would proceed to jot down his own notes on the display, allowing for the others to do the same as Arashi would shake her head before then releasing a breath with a calm expression. Granted, it was somewhat of an easy thing to be confident in one's abilities, especially when it was done with ease and without challenge. Then again, Senshi had been at this long enough that it was in her right to be. Not to mention, the action had been flawless to say the least. There was hardly anything about the duplicates that could make them appear any less real, save for lack of shadows. Still, the point was for them to be an illusion of the original, and to provide an decent enough distraction to create an opening. Yet now came time for the final technique that was to be shown. "Your last demonstration is that of the Substitution Technique. Within the room is an object that is your exact desired weight and size. It is your task to identify it and use it to perform this display....you will have one minute to decide which of these objects it may be, and to execute the technique..." As Yuta would rise up from his seat, he would gesture towards an arrangement of statues that stood within the opposite side of the room. Each one appeared the same, but by description, they were different in their aspects of weight. The key here was deciding which one would work and allowing for Senshi to make the right choice. When she was momentarily warned, Senshi calmed down for a moment, and woudl proceed to step back. Listening firmly to her next step. She had a minute to choose something to substitute with. Weaving the five handseals, she looks out swiftly, her eyes scanning the room before she performs the technique. With a poof of smoke, she would swap with one of the statues that lingered along the right corners of the room. Before she stands where it once stood previously. Then she weaves the handseals again, to swap back, the thing slumping against the corner as she stands confidently in place, her arms neatly folded over her chest. Smiling confidently at her proctors. Honestly. A good time. So far, it was one of her favorite jutsu. Right next to Henge. 

The substitution jutsu was her bread and butter, and she frankly enjoyed having it in her arsenal. Something she felt that would be a major boon in her repertoire. As she awaited the judgement of her superiors and proctor examiners, she found her smile was bright and infectious as she awaited the results. Sure that she'd pass with flying colors. After all that work, hard sweat, and the time she spent in the academy? It was amounting to this moment. It would be a step to making her dreams into reality. To show that it wasn't all a genjutsu. Ultimately, all of this meant one thing for the small Kyokujitsu girl. 

She was growing up. "I hope it sufficed. And thank you for running my exam!" She says, bowing politely before standing up to her full height.

There was a silence in the room upon the completion of the last test. Each proctor looking to the other as they began to jot down their notes and then proceeded to look toward Senshi. While she was confident in her success, the look of her examiners could not have given off anything less than confirmation. In the end, the three would rise up as Yuta would then gesture for Senshi to leave. "Thank you Senshi...you may leave..." As the older man would speak, Arashi would raise her brow before then looking at Yuta with a calm expression. Upon the girl making her exit, Arashi would then cross her arms with a calm expression. "I know that look Yuta-sensei...whats got ya goat? She did everything perfectly..." "That isn't my concern...it is more so to do with the display of it...it wasn't a challenge to her in the least. Not to mention the demeanor in which she took the exam. It shows arrogance..." "Considering the length of time she's been here...it should be easy..." Arashi would then look over toward the girl's instructor, prompting him to speak as he looked at the two from his now seated position. "That isn't the only thing that is concerning...I have noted much of her behavior and this latest with the choice in transformation was more than a bit daunting. If not unexpected...her uncle has been missing for years now...and its only now that I've seen her display any real reaction to it save for what she's spoken of to other students...I worry that her psychological well-being may not be able to handle the pressures of the rank of Genin..." "So you'd rather she remain another year?" Gesturing to the side, Arashi would close her eyes before then shaking her head. "There isn't anyone else that can affirm our concerns...her Aunt isn't very much concerned about the girl and her clan has left this matter to us for the most part...if her behavior is unknown, it would be unfair to her team and Squad leader for us to assign her to such a position without being in full agreement that she is ready mentally..." As the three looked toward one another, the silence remained as the doors to the chamber remained closed and all discussion private. Of course she was cocky. She'd mastered all of the basic academy techniques years ago. Only having chosen to graduate now because her clan with their values wouldn't recognize such a small child graduating so early seriously as a warrior. While one might argue that being a Genin was not such a dangerous position in the first place, the clan's traditions were there. A sense of moral values. Especially when it became clear when she was a holder of the Kyokujitsu's prized and treasured Kekkei Genkai. Shakuton users were rare after all.

There was a moment of silence between the three proctors as they discuss. For Senshi, of course her affairs in life had been quiet. After all, it could be most scandalous to suggest blatant abuse, and it wasn't something the world needed to know. Senshi was cared for by her clan, for the clan, and with the clan. Moving from home to home, it wasn't quite so stable, but it was more than tossing her aside. Though. That was not for Senshi to divulge or understand. For as far as she was concerned? As she walked off back to the classroom, she looked out the window and saw how beautiful the world was, and was pleased with herself.

Confident in her abilities. Confident in her future. Confident with just about everything one could imagine. "Mhm!~ When I become Genin, I'm gonna have Zakku treat me to all I can eat!~" She says, lost in her own little world. Oblivious as she began to daydream about how fantastic her life was going to be, and how her world would change.

While Senshi was lost within her dreams of the future, time would continue to pass since her exam's completion and names would begin to be called as students were allowed to return to the exam chambers for their results. Individuals of various backgrounds and classes came in and out. Some holding the recognition of their success, others walking out with less than celebratory expressions. With each passing moments, less and less students were left within the classroom, and before long, it was Senshi's turn as she was called back into the room. As parents and students exited the classroom, she'd soon make her way back to the testing area, seeing Yuta and her instructor and Arashi waiting for her. Standing at the entrance, Arashi would place her hand upon her hip, gesturing toward Yuta before then leaning slightly to the side. "The promotion to the Rank of Genin...is not to be seen as the end of one's progress...but the beginning of their journey into becoming a full-fledged shinobi...it is not one that should be taken lightly, but seen as only a stepping stone toward the continued growth of not only that individual's skills, but also their personal growth in service to the village..." "To be a shinobi....is to be not only in service of the people of Sunagakure, but also to the country itself. With this responsibility, you present yourself as the village, the Kazekage, and those that you work with in a team. Lastly, you represent yourself...." "Being a Genin is not simply to benefit yourself....but also to work to the greater good of the village and the people...you serve as both a protector and often at times, a servant of fair and balanced judgement in part of those that defer to it. When the speech came, she listened. Deeply to the words, and without hesitation. She was one of the first to step up, before placing her thumb along her chest. Bright and radiant as the sun, she finds herself speaking boldly, loudly, and clearly. "I'd happily serve the people of my country! My village! Because this place is my home, and everyone is my family! To protect them all. And to see them thrive! To be Kazekage! That is my dream!" She says, smiling bright with a radiant smile.

"So of course I swear to it! Everything you asked! And Kyokujitsu Senshi never breaks her promises! Believe it!" She says, pumping her right fist into the air. She had an unshakeable will, a warmth that was infectious to those she spent time with. And she'd never falter on that personal road to growth. Never would she look back with regret or resentment on her decisions, because she knew deep down that she'd always try to do the right thing. That she'd work to slay despair in the hearts of others, and that she'd strive to make others smile. Because that was who Senshi was. That was her ninja way. That she'd be willing to make any personal sacrifice to see it happen.

Though...There was a great level of skepticism. No doubt from her classmates. After all. The Kyokujitsu Clan were some of the youngest and newest to the induction of Sunagakure. As if. Not when there were older, more distinguished ninja out there. Chikamatsu. Oonakayama especially. Right in front of them was a powerful member and a very likely candidate herself someday. Arashi.

Moment music The trio would listen as the girl spoke. While it was likely that out of the two of them, they were expecting more of a formal response of yes or no, Arashi couldn't keep herself from smirking as she then watched as Yuta then nodded as he began to make his way over toward a small box. Within it, laid a headband, adored with a black strap and a reflective emblem on the front. With the sign of Suna embedded on it's surface, the older male would present it toward the girl before Arashi moved passed him as she took it into her hands. "Come a long way from tying up babysitters..." In holding the headband in her hands, the older female would begin to tie it around the girl's forehead, leaning back as she looked the girl over. "Looks good on ya..." That said, she'd watch the two men begin to make their way past, speaking their praise of the girl before Arashi then relaxed a bit more. "I'm really proud of you Senshi...and ya should be proud too...it takes a lot to get here...and I know how hard ya worked to do it..."
