Welcome to Tales of Charon!

Tales of Charon is a collaborative, forum-based platform for roleplay in a medieval, high-magic high-fantasy setting! We are entirely text-based with a unique mechanical system that allows for growth the more you roleplay and interact with the world. Our system is flexible, allowing for you to play as much or as little suits your schedule, eliminating cancelations due to scheduling-based errors and allowing you to post whenever you have time.

Our system focuses heavily on collaborative storytelling and cooperation, with players working together to interact with the original setting and build stories with other players. We also offer staff-run events that cater to a wide range of playstyles. We have quests to further your character’s renown and standing within the world as a hero, plot events with a focus of furthering the world’s lore, raid-style events to take on bosses, and dungeons to complete puzzles.

Charon is a pg-13 community with an emphasis on adventuring and story building rather than player-versus-player combat (pvp). We work on a consent-based system, meaning that your character cannot be killed or seriously injured without your own say. You control the course of the story you’d like to tell within our world. And with an extensive, unique setting and story, there’s plenty of room for you to build the adventure you want!
