As dawn broke the morning after the conclusion of the third round, the genin would undoubtedly be exhausted across the board, but after a solid night’s rest and a hearty breakfast they would be escorted back down the mountain and to the village of Akazaya. Once they arrived, they would be greeted by the enthusiastic cheers of a crowd of spectators welcoming the participants back, as if they were actors stepping down off a stage.

After a few hours’ rest in which the genin were let loose for the afternoon to re-settle in their respective rooms, tidy up and change and check in with whoever they needed to check in with, the participants would be once again called to the place where the exams had begun. Kizumi, once again clad in her formal white garb, took to the platform with a single sheaf of paper and a microphone in hand. She looked, in a word, exhausted—even the makeup she’d clearly applied wasn’t doing enough to cover the dark circles of a sleepless night that bruised the skin beneath her eyes. Some of the shinobi that flanked her looked similarly tired, presumably the evidence of late nights spent poring over reports and evaluating the genins’ performance.

Despite her visible tiredness, Kizumi was warm and cheerful as she tapped the mic to make sure it was working, and said brightly, "Good morning! I want to thank everybody again for participating—I know you all worked incredibly hard to put on a good show, and I appreciate the effort and dedication you all committed to this event.”

A pause, and she glanced sidelong to where her shinobi, as well as the proctors who had helped facilitate the event, were lined up. "I also wanted to shout out the shinobi who helped make sure everyone was safe and that the exams ran smoothly—it was truly a joint effort made by many hands, and couldn’t have been possible without all of you.

Now, what I’m sure you’ve all been waiting for: the results!”

She shook the parchment with a dramatic gesture, and cleared her throat.

"First: these participants performed at the level expected of a genin. They have a lot of opportunity for growth and development before taking on more responsibility, and it is my belief that they are not yet ready to be chuunin. In no particular order:

Kuronmeru Enyo of Kirigakure.
Kuronmeru Shiu of Kirigakure.
Daredemo of Konohagakure.
Hiesen Mairusu of Konohagakure.
Uchiha Tokaku of Konohagakure.
Ikonokoru Yamatsu of Kumogakure.
Jokyu Katsuo of Kumogakure.
Kyuumu Suzaku of Kumogakure.
Kisei Sachi of Kusagakure.
Oborozuki Yuri of Takigakure.”

She paused, skimming over those gathered, as if evaluating their collective response.

"Next: these participants have room for improvement, but their conduct throughout the exams leads me to believe that they have the capacity to succeed as chuunin with appropriate mentorship and guidance. In no particular order:

Susanoo Akirei of Amegakure.
Gure An of Kirigakure.
Shizu Amaya of Kirigakure.
Kayahara Urikohime of Konohagakure.
Uchiha Kai of Konohagakure.
Uzumaki Ataru of Konohagakure.
Hono Saya of Kusagakure.
Muramatsa Jun of Yukigakure.”

Once more she paused for effect, taking in reactions before continuing.

"Finally: these participants gave an effective, impressive performance, and have demonstrated multiple traits desirable in a chuunin. It is my belief that they will be able to thrive in new roles with weightier responsibilities.

Ishikawa Ren of Amegakure.
Nanashi Yuki of Iwagakure.
Haruno Seiji of Konohagakure.
Hatake Shinde of Konohagakure.
Hyuuga Raika of Konohagakure.
Uzumaki Atagi of Kusagakure.”

Kizumi rolled up the parchment with a decisive flick of the wrist. Then, folding her hands neatly in front of her belly, she bowed at the waist and said, for the final time: "Thank you for coming. I hope you have learned something from the experience, and that you enjoy the rest of the festival.”

And just like that, the exams were concluded—though a couple of days of festivities still remained before the various delegations would begin making their long journeys home.

As a final parting souvenir, each of the genin would be gifted a version of the Maizun Defensive Hoodie that had been on offer as boon for a scroll: without any of the chakra conductivity or defensive padding, but shockingly yellow and emblazoned with the Yanki clan symbol, it was a stylish, comfortable fashion piece that each of the genin could admire and adore for years to come.
