As the exams had ended and the village returned to a state of normalcy, much happened in the background. Unseen by the majority of the village as the byzantine mechanisms that kept Konoha running continued to move. He knew this, because he had lived it through many a times. Once as a newly promoted Chunin and then again as someone that brought the new possible inductees. Out of all them one seemed to interest him the most, the report from the spotters coming from her actions and what he saw in them told him as a worthy candidate after her qualities had been polished and whatever defects she had been ironed out. But all was in due in time. When the decision had been made, he singled out their recruitment detachment. Making sure that they would retrieve the woman. Normally not an easy task, but as long as they had been watching her, she still felt the exertion of the exams upon her flesh. A tired individual was easier to transport, specially when said individual didn't fight back. And once they brought her into the labyrinthine innards of the ANBU headquarters, placing her the Hyuga in a room that was covered with a strange stone and inscribed with warding seals blocked any chance to use the famous kekkei genkai of her clan. Slowly, the group would retreat, the members of ANBU that brought the new inductee would nod at their leader before the door was closed, and their guest would be left in darkness. Now he would retreat, wondering how she would react to the solitude of the cell, how she would try to escape. This was, after all a test that she would need to pass to join their ranks, showing their worth.

Raika grunts as she's put into the room, having been quite tired after the Chuunin Exams and having very little chakra left over from all her work. She immediately starts with trying to activate her Byakugan, but finds that nothing happens despite her attempts to do so. She frowns at this strange sensation, her eyes totally incapable of seeing anything in the room around her. She gets up onto her feet slowly, but breathes slowly, letting her body calm despite the strange circumstances. She can feel that she has enough chakra to use her Byakugan, so something else is causing it to not be able to activate. She moves slowly to one of the walls, feeling along it until she reaches a corner. Here she stops.

No need to let them know what I'm thinking by talking aloud... Shouldn't even let them know I'm awake and aware of my surroundings.

She walks along each wall, counting her steps to determine the size and shape of the room before she feels a specific location where her fingertips, finely honed from years of practice of the Jyuuken, feel just the faintest breeze through a crack so small that she can't even feel it.

Well, well, well.

She smirks at this newly discovered knowledge, and she draws one fist back, balling her right hand into a firm, powerful ball of contained force before she swings forwards with all her strength, ignoring any fear she felt at potentially breaking her hand and instead flooding the fist with the healing chakra she'd been learning from the medical corps to allow her to strike with the full force she can bring to bear, aiming the strike right at the point where she can feel the faintest breeze. Her fist crashes against stone with immense force, and she follows it up with an even harder strike with her foot, using the Iron Fist style she'd been learning from Chisai in Kusagakure in order to try and bring down the door with pure physical might.

DESCRIPTION:
A medical ninjutsu where one anticipates the spot the enemy will attack and pre-emptively applies medical treatment to it, reducing damage to a minimum. The user concentrates chakra to that area and begins the cell recreation process even before the targeted area becomes damaged. Using opponent's facial expression and movements, the technique's speed and power, the user analyses everything in an instant and accurately deduces where the attack will land. Even more than accurately predicting the attack or instantly gauging the situation, a great resilience is necessary.

In a hidden room, a group of observes watched attentively as the Hyuga awoke from her slumber and even though her eyes could not pierce the veil that had been created by the strange stone and the carvings on the walls. Eyes looking at an orb, suspended in the middle of the room, watching a ghostly apparition of the Hyuga as she inspected the walls, the sounds of pens tearing through untouched paper and the hushed whispers of those in attendance. They stopped as she stopped on a section of the wall and watched her as she primed her strike. The room shook with the distant violence of her strike, debris felt and the man at the head of the audience looked to the sealing as the small fragments would fall itinerant raindrops, clattering on the stony floor. Yet all seemed as if it had been part of the plan. The same symphony of pens tearing through sheets of paper resumed, silence carried on as they continued to observe and document. The figure in the front would weave his fingers in a gesture that only those within the room understood, as the next phase continued on, and right on schedule it would seem. Stone would shatter at the might brought from the fists of the Hyuga. The shrapnel flew casually, easily, as if the stone had been brittle rather a construct of actual resistance. Yet instead of an escape, the woman would find only a long hallway, bearing the same marks of before, this time illuminated by a low red glow that gave her some measure of vision, but invited for no certainty. To move forward was not, it seemed, the only recourse that Raika had, the only way forward.

Raika's eyes narrow when the wall before her crumbles quite a bit more easily than she'd expected. While she did have a bit of an ego in her, one that had her taking the name of Meathead, meant to be derogatory, and using it for herself, she was at least aware of her own strength, and the fact that the wall she'd punched had crumbled so easily was a red flag in her mind. It was expected that she'd travel down this hallway, then. The red light is also a little odd, but then she gets an idea and instead of walking directly into the red light, she turns, moving out of the doorway to gather more information about the room she'd just been inside of, using the red light to be able to see much more clearly. She can see the same markings on the wall of her cell as those in the hallway, letting her know that it was the markings inlaid in the stone that was causing her Byakugan to not function as it should.

This was intensely odd, but she looks back down into the hallway to see that it extends long and deep, but she at least has the bright idea to close one eye before she continues forwards, keeping her head tilted so her left eye was facing frontwards while her right eye stayed completely closed. This way, if the dim glow got darker, she'd still have one eye that was accustomed to an even darker situation. It was something she'd learned to do when she was too weak to use the Byakugan while she was living - no, surviving - in Kawa. She hesitantly steps forwards, walking with care by extending her foot first, and then putting gradual pressure on the floor until she took an actual step. While tediously slow, she was careful in this unknown situation.

What a strange test...

Not that she would ever say as much aloud, but she carefully also keeps one hand to the wall, though she's careful not to brush her hand against it; if there was some sound-based trigger or someone listening for her to make a noise, she didn't want them to hear her coming.

The young Hyuga would seemingly continue forward. Taking slow, tentative steps as she seemed to prove through the floor in case there was a hidden trap, something that would make any of the byzantine mechanisms that could be hidden behind the etchings on the wall and the floor and the ceiling. A soft rumbling would accompany the woman with each step, the sound being nothing less than a murmur that echoed with every movement that she made until it became a droning as the hallway didn't seem to end but slowly the width of it became smaller and smaller. Behind her however, the distant sound of a door closing could be heard. There was nowhere else to go, but to move forward and finding an escape. Raika could try to see if any of the walls had a secret button, she could try and pry a hidden switch that she found through touch. The same red dull glow remained and the air slowly began to turn colder the more that she advanced. At some point, the young Hyuga would reach a juncture as she was now forced to crawl on her knees, she would need to take a decision on whether to go right or left.

Raika wasn't particularly happy about the fact that she could hear the door closing behind her, and she sighs as she continues forwards. No point in worrying about it now, she'd made her choices and had carefully decided that staying in one place was not going to get her very far or give her much of a chance of getting back out of this strange building. With the tightening of the hallway, the Chuunin finds it even more annoying, but there's not much she can do about the change in height and width, except to press her body into a matching position. Upon coming to a T-juncture, she looks from one direction to the other, but the red glow is not bright enough to extend beyond a long distance. She frowns before choosing at least one method of somewhat "mapping" as much of this maze as she can.

She focuses chakra to her palms, then thrusts a blast of it down each hallway, using the Vacuum Palm to try and get some sense of her surroundings, annoyed that her Byakugan still isn't working as it should. Raika momentarily wonders if she can destroy the markings on the walls to try and allow her to use the Byakugan, but she knows it would only work to a distance that extends to where the damage to the walls end, and so the use of her Byakugan would be pointless anyway.

As long as there's nothing particularly out of place with either option, she puts her right hand on the wall and follows the turn to the right, going a bit faster, since there have been no traps so far, only an annoyance at how tight the corridors have gotten, making movement more and more difficult and awkward for her. At least following the right hand rule, she'd likely find the way out, even if it took her a long time to do so.

And thus the young Hyuga would take the path to the right. No path was wrong, in fact each path would take to a different test and as Raika would advance the air would turn colder and colder, even under the lowly red lambent she would able to see her exhalation as a white haze that made the visibility even lower. A thin film of ice developed on the surface of the narrow passage way, a breeze would buffet her as she would continue forward until instead of just unending darkness she would see a breach of low red light. A drop awaited from her, landing on frigid water to break her descent. Floating pieces of ice would drift around what seemed to be flooded barrack with rolled up bedrolls floating on the cold water, rows of double beds wound stand empty as a series of doors surrounded the perimeter of the room, yet no door handle would be found nor any purchase unto which she would be able to seemingly pry open the door. Another door led into the bathroom where a large mirror be upon the wall. Racks of weapons lay abandoned save for the a few rusted weapons. Yet these was not the most pressing issue, as if she played attention she would notice that slowly but surely water would begin to fully flood the room.

Raika can't help but to feel annoyed at the feeling of heat draining from her body as she moves through the hallway, a bit surprised by the drop, followed by a splash as she falls into water. At least the red glow here is enough for her to see a bit more clearly, with the room looking quite odd. She tries her Byakugan again, but finds that it's still not helpful in this situation, blocked off still by the markings on the walls, likely some form of seal. Annoyed at this restriction, she rapidly kicks off the floor to reach the mirror, looking into it curiously, and then moving to the door, running her hands all along it. With the water soon rising enough that she won't be able to generate her maximum amount of force, since the water is going to provide enough resistance to make an effective strike impossible, she decides that the answer is likely to be something to do with the mirror or with the rusty weapons instead.

"Ugh... This water better be clean!"

She's hoping they can listen in on what she says; she feels they're likely monitoring her, at least. The Hyuga kicks back over to the mirror, inspecting it all over and then trying to remove it from the wall, just to see if there's something behind it. A mirror in a barracks room is odd, after all, and mostly the only thing out of place, other than the door that doesn't seem to have any clear handle or way to open it. For now, she breathes as little as possible; with the room flooding slowly, only the air pressure is likely to keep it from filling any faster, and so breathing is becoming a rare commodity for the Chuunin; breathing harder or faster is only going to quicken the room filling up with water, instead.
