LAW & ORDER

Background
Peace is a fleeting moment in time. Where happiness and fond memories are born, forever stored in the annals of history books, but more importantly in the hearts of men; peace is the dream which is both a desirable and tempting mistress. We dream of it in times of strife, in instances of suffering. We pray for it when the hour is blackest and our hearts are filled with despair. More often we meet face-to-face with peace’s envious cousin: War. Unpredictable and fueled by the ambitions of men, war is ironically the precedent that gives rise to peace and subsequently the heroes of peace. Heroes, however, are not the only legends that are born during battle. The days of demons are most common when the bloodshed of men reaches its zenith…

The expansive deserts of Kaze no Kuni often ends up as the grave of many, innocent and corrupt alike. The scorching winds and endless sand are said to continuously bear on one’s soul until utter collapse. Only the brave and few dare to travel to these barren lands in search of anything, really. The city of Bōmei-chi is often used as a place of exile and banishment of the most dangerous criminals and accused by Kaze no Kuni's leaders. However, if one does choose to bear these hardships, a reward lies in wait at the end of the endless hell. Or so the rumors made by the prison wardens claim.

Following the escape of Raiel Kikkawa, the head of the infamous Kikkawa crime family, from the hell of Bomei-chi, the Kikkawa leaders realized the position they were finally faced with. The Yondaime Kazekage knew details about them and their forces. Details that would make them exposed to the village that they had been locked in a mortal struggle for power in quiet for years now. Amongst themselves they argued, some in favor of retreating underground until Sunagakure grew weak enough for them to supplant those who claimed what wasn’t theirs while others in more boisterous voices called for more immediate action. Being forced to leave the ninja village hadn’t been an abrupt affair. It was a slow process following the loss of control after the late Kazekage's death—the next to ascend had not been so easy to manipulate and eventually the connection between many of the illicit acts of brutality and lawlessness was tied to the Kikkawa.

Having no political standing as the hostility towards them grew, they fled, carrying with them the few ninja they could. Years passed as they watched from afar. Some remained close to their home, hiding away like animals in dessert burrows while others expanded their horizons by moving to western parts of Kaze no Kuni, but they were all bound by the encompassing hatred for the inhabitants of the Sunagakure. Unknowingly they began devising individual schemes to overtake the ninja village. Soon whispers became secretive talks and eventually these became war conferences as coffers were raised to support the growing force of the Kikkawa. Soon fortune saw Kinzaki Gensei, the man claiming to be the strongest swordsman in the world, into their hands. Many saw this as the final piece that heralded their rise against the treacherous village which should have belonged to them. It was what had moved them to jail break Raiel Kikkawa, it was what had prompted them to begin reaching out to other criminals to seek favor. Maneuvers that otherwise would have been too bold for the family in the past became frantic and rushed as the collective emotions of the clan began to clamor for the blood of those they despised.

Now all had come to a crossroads. Managing to mount a force of 500 Sunagakure nukenin, along with a few ninja of great talent from other nations, the Kikkawa forces march eastward, with Gensai serving as their emboldened general. The decision to attack Sunagakure was not a unanimous one, but the blood thirst of those who demanded justice overwhelmed those who would preserve the pure blood of the Kikkawa.

Crossing as far as the famous Greenhouses, the clan has come further than they’ve ever dreamed. The feudal lords have turned a blind eye to the small army advancing upon the ninja village for reasons unknown and now it seemed that Sunagakure’s fate had been sealed. It seemed that history was about to pay witness to one of the most consequential battles to take place since the Great Ninja Wars.

The question was who would stand victorious? Who would stand beside who when the smell of blood and smoke was thick in the air? Who would hold claim to the deserts that surrounded the village on all sides as well as the village itself? Would Sunagakure finally be able to establish Law & Order in Kaze no Kuni, or would Crime & Corruption reign supreme?

Mission Rank: A

For this plot, there will only be three spots available, none of which are restricted by rank. Even Genin can join, but be warned of the mission difficulty. For the sake of speed and order, I would like to keep it concise and small. If you aren't among the first to make it, do not fret because there will be future plots. Suna members should simply PM or skype me if they're interested. KEEP IN MIND THAT WHEN THE PLOT IS UP, THERE WILL BE A POSTING STOPWATCH OF 72 HOURS. IF ONE DOES NOT POST WITHIN THAT TIME, THEY'LL BE SKIPPED FOR THAT ROUND. This rule does not apply for the moderator of course, considering the fact they're GMing, have other posts to do, and likely staff work. Be warned: This is a Death Enabled Event.
