Iwa Heads to the Polls!

"Let me dream of a better tomorrow.
Let me dream of a peace upon my soul."

The revolution against its ruling elite has now reached a fever pitch, with thousands going to their local polling stations to vote. An extremely impressive turnout has emerged, leaving many with high hopes for a better future. Shinobi villages watch on in the distance, curious as to who will emerge as Iwagakure's new leader. The issues of the months long campaign had been many, villagers mostly divided as to what should be made of the legacy of Noihime Kouen and the new direction that should be taken.

As the polls closed, votes were carefully counted and it would be announced to all who had won the day....

With a tally of 46.79% going to Fmr ANBU Operative Tonoda to Councilwoman Yutakako Takara's 51.04% it had been declared that Takara was going to be the next Tsuchikage of Iwagakure. On a platform of massive infrastructural development, compensation for the village's clanless, and the promotion of youths, the Yutakako has been given the very first mandate of the people of Iwagakure.

Despite her win, the biggest surprise of the election remained. A notable number of votes went to someone not even mentioned on the ballot. Write-in-candidate Satori Akira managed to garner 1.11℅ of the vote.

It remains to be seen how the candidates handle the news, but the people of Iwagakure are now ready for their new leadership and a new direction. They have high hopes and await to see how Takara's two year term goes.

Yutakako Takara ☑
Tonoda ☐

To peer into the soul of Tonoda of the Lightning was to look into the eye of a storm. He stood there in the center of the village, looking on as many people passed, nodding at him in passing, some smiling his way in respect, other looking on with a view of disgust. Tonoda was clearly well known in Iwagakure once more. Whether love or hate, these people knew who the man was and what he was all about. His exile had ended. He could no longer blame himself for the death of Nohime Mugeshi. And though he trained the young man, he couldn't begin to blame himself for the death of Nohime Mugen either. Neither of the men amounted to what they were destined for in life and Tonoda thought that if he became Tsuchikage, he could live their greatness out through himself. But the people had chosen. He walked

They did, indeed, choose well though. Lady Takara was a prime candidate and Tonoda respected her as the victor. He only wished the best for her future endeavors in the position. He hoped to find her and be the first to congratulate her on her victory. To be the first to honor a Tsuchikage was an honor in itself. Tonoda walked solemnly through the streets of the village, nodding at the people who watched him pass by as if he was some sort of celebrity. Tonoda, not winning his candidacy, didn't expect this much attention but it was a close vote and many people seemed to like his viewpoint on things and issues arising throughout the village and the world abroad. Tonoda simply hoped innovative thinking and policies for the people were put into place. Iwagakure's long downfall was always because the high class stepped on those of the low class. He walked

Tonoda's question is would Takara be able to place them on equal ground when she was indeed of that higher class. His silent, walking thoughts lead him down avenues and cornerstones much tougher than the alabaster stone he walked upon, through the Village Hidden in the Rocks. One question remained for the man who so obviously longed to do something for his people, his village. He needed to place in this organization too. Maybe his failure to become Tsuchikage simply opened up other opportunities for him to help change Iwagakure. But had his walk lead him astray ?
