Academia Skills
"Education is not about learning the facts. It's about training the mind to think."

Tier I Skills

Name: Anatomy and Physiology
Rank: I
Concentration: Very Low
Type: Academia
Description
This skill allows those pursuing the medical field or a related trade an advanced understanding of the names and functions of parts of the human body. Without a proper knowledge of anatomy, efforts in their field would mostly be guesswork. They know where major organs are on humans and related apes, the names of all the bones in the skeletal system, and even the functions of various cranial nerves. Naming and identifying is the basis for those working in medicine or biology.

Name: Basic Ethology
Rank: I
Concentration: Very Low
Type: Academia
Description
This allows a character to observe the actions or habitat of an animal from their country and interpret what is going on as well as identifying said animal. Actions can show how dangerous the creature is, whether it is hungry, protecting its young, or defending a nearby den. Furthermore, careful observation of signs and behaviors can even indicate the location of a water hole, animal herds, predators, or impending danger, such as a forest fire. A successful check means the character understands the basic actions of the creature, as well as the type of creature it is. One must be in a field relating to animals or survival to learn this skill.

Name: Blue Prints!
Rank: I
Concentration: Very Low
Type: Academia
Description
The character with this skill is trained as a designer of both great and small things. Engineers can prepare plans for everything from small machines to transportation devices. They know the theory of their trade and this skill allows them to draw up plans for how they intend to apply mathematics to build design, or improve structures. One would still need the skill to implement these designs and find the necessary workmen.

Name: Botany
Rank: I
Concentration: Very Low
Type: Academia
Description
A character with this skill has a basic knowledge of plants and how they grow. They know how to tell various species of plants apart and under what conditions each type of plant grows best. Most of the time they can tell poisonous plants from non-poisonous plants. At this level, the user can only identify plants from the country in which they reside in.

Tier II Skills

Name: Cut'em Open!
Rank: II
Concentration: Low
Type: Academia
Description
By combining medical knowledge with chemical knowledge, it is possible to gain a significant amount of information from a corpse without the use of chakra. Autopsies have formed the basis of forensic, anatomical, and clinical pathology. Supplied with the right materials in a laboratory setting, a character with this skill will be able to find the time and cause of death for a human corpse. If they are in a field relating to animals, they will be able to find the cause of death in animals.

Name: Emergency Care!
Rank: II
Concentration: Low
Type: Academia
Description
This skill allows a character to properly tend to the sick and injured. While many have basic medical knowledge inherent to taking care of others, characters in the field of medicine or hospitality are capable of aiding others with great efficiency. The user’s role is to provide an optimal environment to facilitate the patient’s own recuperative abilities, by monitoring the patient and tending to his needs as required. Novices using this technique may take longer to diagnose and tend to injured characters while masters may only need a glance at their target to begin care.

Name: Laying the Foundations
Rank: II
Concentration: Very Low
Type: Academia
Description
This skill allows engineers to supervise the competent workmen carrying out their plans, and ensure their plans are being implemented correctly. Engineers must have the skill 'Blue Prints' in order to read and understand the basic the design being created. At this level creations can be no larger than a four story building. The implementation of these plans follow a set schedule which may be completed before or after the estimated date.

Tier III Skills

Name: Hold the Fort
Rank: III
Concentration: Very Low
Type: Academia
Description
Engineers with this skill are experts in designing fortresses, towers, walls, and castles. They know how to construct almost indestructible fortifications. In an emergency, they can quickly erect some sort of makeshift protection as well. Although this character can construct simple, temporary structures himself, he needs talented workmen to complete any major project. He has the skill to supervise and manage a crew of such workers such that the project is completed properly and in the shortest amount of time possible.
