NOTES. Genin Flashback Time!

Mitsuo hadn't been trying to be late. As far as he knew, Sada was still going to be the one he was training with today. As such, he had prepared accordingly. He had his thickest gloves on so that he wouldn't actually hurt anyone, and had even gone as far as to scarf down his breakfast as quickly as possible. What had stopped him then? His mother. Given that he still lived with his family, as he hadn't yet earned the money to get a small room of his own in the village, he still had things to do around the house.

Yes, his mother was still trying to keep him bogged down with work. Truthfully, Mitsuo didn't mind it. The things she had him do were always simple. But, this time it was so much that he found himself unable to be the first one there. Oh man. Was he going to get an earful from Sada. So, after saying his goodbyes, he started moving at top speed, even utilizing the body flicker technique to go even faster. They had planned for a place within the academy so that they wouldn't have to worry too much about bandaging wounds given by their usual combat environment. It was a smart move, given that neither of them knew any medical ninjutsu as far as he knew.

Thankfully, he didn't live all that far from the Academy. So truthfully, there wasn't much wasted time in the trip. Luckily, Sada had reserved a room for the two of them, since they were only planning on training Taijutsu. The teachers in the academy agreed that going all the way to the training grounds for something so simple was silly, and had given them one of the less used rooms, and even made sure that they would have a supervisor on hand if anything happened that would require medical ninjutsu.

Unfortunately, Mitsuo actually hadn't known which room Sada had reserved. The idea had been to wait in front of the academy for her so that she could lead the way.  Sadly, his lateness prevented that. So instead, here he was. Wandering the halls of the Academy's taijutsu area, looking into each room.

True to the time of day, most of the rooms were empty. A handful of them had early risers that were here to train up, possibly under the guise of gaining extra credit. However, as Mitsuo came to the final room and looked in the window, he had to blink. It wasn't Sada, but there was someone else that he recognized. Her teammate. Satoru Inuzuka. Almost immediately, he had forgotten his issue, and flung the door open, waving at Satoru with a grin.

"Hey there Satoru, Takeo! Man, it's been a while. What're you two doing here?" He asked, sounding and looking for all the world like he didn't really think he was all that late. As per usual, he seemed to be the carefree one. Especially given that he still chose to wear that ridiculous looking straw hat, and plain clothes. Well. This was already shaping up to be an interesting day.

Say goodbye as we dance with the devil tonight
Standing in the center of the room Satoru sighed, the very sight of the place made his skin crawl. How could anyone expect to improve when even their training area babied them? It was a confined area, which already limited jutsu capacity, but even had supervision as to make sure no one got hurt. The thought made Satoru's stomach churn, this wasn't some hobby, being a shinobi was a life style. If you wanted to take the easy route than quitting entirely seemed more effective in the Inuzuka's eyes.

With the Chunin exams right around the corner he was honestly taken by surprise with the room more than anything. If Mitsuo was still this sheltered then Satoru could only wonder what awaited him on the battlefield. Furthermore, Satoru was considering having a word with Sada over this. That being said he'd likely have to work the details out of his partner, it was always more forgiving than a direct approach on the matter. This thought would have to wait though, as Satoru would rather focus on finishing his work here than letting his mind wonder.

The boy was just beginning to tire with waiting when he heard the door fly open. His attention immediately darting to the entrance; he locked his sights on the familiar face that entered. Per usual Mitsuo was just as happy and energetic as ever, eagerly waving to Satoru as he greeted him. While easily brushed off as part of the boy's childish nature it still rubbed the Inuzuka the wrong way. He felt the expression held something more, as if the boy was hiding something behind it. On the other hand, Sada was similar in this aspect, albeit to a different degree. Her personality had been an exception though, still differing a good deal from Mitsuo's. The only real reason Satoru tolerated it was because he had admittedly grown fond of Sada, not seeing her emotions as overbearing as he viewed Mitsuo's.

A sigh lead his response as the Inuzuka realized Mitsuo was not aware of his new training arrangements. "We are here in place of Sada. Apparently she thinks she has better things to do~" The response was dripping with subtle disdain as Satoru had begun to think the same. Perhaps she too had begun to tire of the naive blonde, it had certainly taken longer than Satoru's conclusion.

Mitsuo somehow overlooking Satoru's presence in lull of the redhead seemed to be standard, the boy was more concerned with pleasantries and friendly greetings to worry about such things. 'Had he honestly behaved like this with Sada?' A menacing smile pulled at one end of the Inuzuka's lips, one of his fangs nestled within the expression. He found it entertaining to think just how Sada would have reacted to the boy being late; or rather thinking the boy was late in Satoru's case.

NOTES. Genin Flashback TIme

When Satoru revealed that he was supposed to be his training partner for the day, something seemed to click in Mitsuo's head. "Ahh..so that's why the location was changed. Normally we'd be at the training grounds.

But that's usually because at the worst, we just leave pretty dark bruises on each other. But given that you have those claws and Takeo on your side, it makes sense that she'd want to make sure neither of us really hurt the other."

He said as he stretched a bit, his arms going up over his head before he allowed them to fall to his sides. Of course, in saying that, Mitsuo would have revealed something interesting. The training he did with Sada didn't involve any kind of Ninjutsu.

In truth, it just seemed to be that the two of them trained to become physically stronger by fighting each other. Of course, Mitsuo personally was still confused as to why she had decided to change the location.

On reflection, it made sense..but at the same time, they were just going to be doing sparring with Taijutsu. There was no real need for such a huge location change. Still, it wasn't too much of a change, and he could very much just roll with it.

So, Mitsuo turned around and closed the door that he had opened. "So, just in case Sada didn't make it clear, we really only do Taijutsu sparring for the sake of pushing each other's limits.

The idea is that we could make each other stronger by fighting as hard as we can without falling back on ninjutsu or anything else."
He said after turning around, doing a few basic stretches to get himself ready for this. Sure, it was unlikely that Satoru would use Takeo, given how small the area that they were fighting in was, but he was still an Inuzuka.

From what Satoru knew, that particular clan was very highly regarded for their skill in this particular aspect of battle. He'd have to be very careful this time. Otherwise, things could end up going very bad, very quickly.

Long beyond annoyed at the 'chore' he saw this favor as Satoru mostly ignored what Mitsuo had been saying. Any worry of injury or worry did not move the young Genin, not with the exams now so dauntingly close. The implication of 'pushing each other's limits without falling back on ninjutsu' -as he put it- would get a reaction though. A small smile breaking as it took every bit of the Inuzuka's willpower to not roll his eyes. His place as a self proclaimed taijutsu prodigy and title of Inuzuka did much to bloat his ego, or maybe Sada was rubbing off on him. Either way, he doubted that the other boy could hold his own against him in a solely taijutsu spar. Any thoughts of holding back would flee from Satoru's mind as he looked to Takeo before gazing back up to his opponent.

Flicking his fist into an open palm his nails would show prominently. "Enough, did we come here to spar or to talk. If Sada wants me to 'push your limits' I'll do just that." With that Satoru would take initiative, barking orders to Takeo. "Now, Takeo!"

With that the hound perked up and arched his back, a blood curdling howl bouncing about the small room, a sly smirk accompanying the noise as it's owner threw himself to the ground. Catching himself on all four Satoru's animalistic features would become more pronounced, his limbs surging with chakra as he utilized the keystone piece of the Inuzuka's taijutsu abilities; Shikyaku no Jutsu.

Utilizing the lapse in combat provided by the Takeo's heart pounding howl Satoru would follow this stance up with a direct assault. His body lurched back before launching straight for Mitsuo, his body contorting into a full spiral that drilled straight for the other shinobi. The technique caused the wind to howl along, it's impact with either body or wall would be full, but not fatal. Focusing on the brunt impact rather than the shredding nature it was known for, however not all the damage would be nullified.

Satoru's Jutsu

NAME: Shikyaku no Jutsu [Four Legs Technique]
RANK: D
CHAKRA USAGE: Very Low/Constant
CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu
ELEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION:
Enveloping their body in chakra, an Inuzuka can lower onto their hands and feet, taking a stance like they're a beast. This form increases the entire physical nature of their body, such as speed, agility, endurance, and strength. Along with their four-legged stance, their features change to be rather similar to a dog. This includes their eyes becoming more slanted, their nails and teeth growing, and their pupils become slits. With this form's need to keep chakra moving over the body, it has a slow but steady drain on the Inuzuka's chakra.

NAME: Tsūga [Passing Fang]
RANK: D
CHAKRA USAGE: Low
CLASSIFICATION: Taijutsu
ELEMENT: None
REQUIREMENT: Shikyaku no Jutsu must be active.
DESCRIPTION:
Going into a wild rotation, an Inuzuka aims at an opponent, using their claws as the "head" of their drill-like attack. Having the power to go through thick branches and chakra-enhanced earth walls, this attack is still highly capable of inflicting damage on someone if it were to score a direct hit.

Takeo's Jutsu

NAME: Unari [Howl]
RANK: D
CHAKRA USAGE: Very Low
CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu
ELEMENT:
DESCRIPTION:
Using there bestial nature the Inuzuka can let out a howl that curls the blood. When focused it can disorient an opponent momentarily causing them to see double.

This attack is more powerfull when preformed with Ninken.
