Konsho sat nervously in front of the large doors of the Nohime complex. It didn't feel right being here. These people were VERY important to Iwagakure. They were equal, and in several ways higher than his own sensei, the Sage of the village. To stand in front of these gates was no small task. After all, even the strongest among the Apes listened to Midori sensei, yet these people were somehow even above them. Should he even be here? Was it rude to even show up before she came to the academy? Could he actually be insulting and showing a bad example of how the Apes raised their children?

Shaking his head Konsho waited outside the door. Staring down at his book, he wanted to make sure he was fully ready before he dared to ask for extra training. Konsho's book was one he had received a long time ago whilst at Kumogakure. A book on all things chakra, down to the tiniest detail. This time he was reading about how charka was shaped, a task Konsho had always had trouble with. The book described the easiest way for novices was to not view chakra as thin strings, but thick yet fuzzy yarn. Konsho had never thought of it that way, always picturing the chakra he manipulate as what it was, impossibly thin and small to the point it wasn't visible. But perhaps it was better to think as the book did. Afterall for him doing anything with chakra was all about imagining it.

The Nohime complex wasn't an impenetrable fortress, it's gates weren't miles high and even it's surrounding fence was only a couple inches higher than the average person. The main gates also wouldn't be closed, it might be to the academy students surprise, but Yoshiko had had them kept open in order to be welcoming. She didn't put up a flyer saying she was available to help train to not be available to help train. Yoshiko actually would be sitting at the steps to the stone complex, her legs were cross and her elbows rested upon her thigh. Hands holding her chin, she'd be relatively lost in thought.

The girl wasn't by any stretch of the imagination 'deep' in thought, her thoughts were incredibly shallow and merely faded into day. Not thought of the day or days to come, but a general appreciation for existence and the suns life. Iwagakure similarly to Sunagakure was often dry, hot and sun bathed. Though the mountains provided all the shadows one needed to stay hidden. The terrain created an often stronger stock than the rest of the villages. It was Yoshiko's goal of the day to help make one of her fellow villagers stronger, well she'd left the flyer open to as many as possible, but fate would have only one show up timely. The boy stopping before the gate would near immediately catch the Nohime's attention.

He'd be looking to some book, a subtle sense of shyness coming from him. Planting one foot firmly upon the earth, the brunette would pull herself to a stand. Her hands removed from her chin to lightly dust off and straighten her dress. Clasping her hands together with interwoven fingers, Yoshiko would approach the boy at a normal pace. Her face lit with a bright smile, as she'd come up to the boy standing outside her clan's complex. "Hi! Are you an academy student here for the training?" Yoshiko would ask as politely as she could, in case he was just a friend of a nephew, niece or cousin. There were plenty of reasons a person could come to the Nohime, but then again he didn't enter immediately so maybe he was just standing their out of chance.

To any Iwagakure native, the Nohime complex would be a mostly welcome place, with the exception of a few older people who tended to be grumpy. However, Konsho was not in any way a native to this land. Raised in a jungle by apes, brought to Iwagakure against his will by a superior, and being of course as young and new as he was to... humanity in general, everything seemed big, threatening, and confusing to Konsho. To him, even talking to a chuunin was a very big deal, requiring he be on his best behavior throughout the entire encounter and make sure whomever he was talking to was happy. To approach such an important clan... to him it was like approaching the Daimyo. Everything about this place was exaggerated in his mind, making things much more serious than they seemed.

Regardless he was focussed on his book, so focussed he hadn't noticed the older shinobi's approach. The book brought up how people with high amounts of chakra had a hard time controlling it, as even the slightest opening caused the chakra to fly out of them as if they were a pressurized container. Just as he was about to get towards a hint on how to handle this, the cheery woman spoke up, causing the boy to jump slightly. Quickly catching himself and focusing, he quickly gave a polite bow to his superior. "Y-yes mam! I...er...well..." Konsho tripped over his own words. He had to word this right, make sure he got every detail correct and said it without wasting her time. "I was hoping to..well...I'm kind of... a slow learner. I've been reading a lot on how to do some of the jutsu and use ninjutsu but I-" Konsho shook his head, already rambling telling her details she didn't need to know. "I'm trying to learn anything and everything about the use of chakra. Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, Fuinjutsu, all of it." He stated, still looking at the ground. Knowledge was the most important thing for him at the moment. Through knowledge he could reverse engineer several of his own techniques to help his family. Even if he couldn't use the techniques, knowing how the techniques worked would help him break and fight against all facets of being a ninja, making him an invaluable member of the Apes. "Is there anyway you can help with that? Even knowledge on a specific element would be useful."

Yoshiko wasn't the type to insult people, especially if they seemed to be struggling. This academy student seemed to be struggling a lot, at least he wasn't the most suave person she'd converse. Instead he'd seem a little worried about, well maybe everything. He'd mention an interest in learning, well just about everything. It was an adorable request though and with him being an academy student, there was essentially no reason she couldn't help him in it all. There wasn't any art she didn't know at least a little about, especially the main arts, though she'd likely need to work on fuuinjutsu. That really wasn't an academy thing though.

Neither was genjutsu, but she knew genjutsu and some taijutsu from practicing. "Of course I can help you with all of that!" Yoshiko would reply optimistically with a thumbs up. As she'd give the boy a bright smile and a quick bow before introducing herself. "I'm Nohime Yoshiko, head of the Nohime clan, I'm a master of ninjutsu and my clans element dust. However, dust is made from fire, earth and wind, so I like to think I'm pretty knowledgeable in them. My old teammate passed a lot of genjutsu knowledge to me and I've been focusing a lot of my own time to taijutsu recently. So you name it I'll teach it." Yoshiko would further assure.

Waving the boy in Yoshiko would lead him out to her clan's little training ground. It was more or less a sparring ground, but more than a good enough place to teach whatever might want to be learned. It'd be a brief stroll from the front of the complex to the back of it. Though there'd be certainly the room for Konsho to reply or ask question on the way.

Konsho walked slowly behind Yoshiko, a chaotic swirl of emotions in him. Nervousness at entering a famous clan complex, excitement and learning from such a great teacher, and pressure at having to perform well to make his home look good in the eyes of this shinobi. However, once he entered the complex he was surprised. Not in awe or disappointment, he simply wasn't expecting the complex to look like this. For a legendary clan, their complex was fairly humble. Not low or middle class, it was clear they lived comfortably if you looked. But it wasn't out on display for everyone to see. It wasn't for show, it was just how they lived.

As they stopped at the training ground, Konsho's eyes glanced all around the buildings around the training ground. He wasn't really sure what they were going to do. They hadn't discussed anything. She had basically stated she could teach him anything, it was all up to him. He hated making decisions. She had said the famous Kekkei Tota of the Nohime Clan was made of Earth, Fire, and Wind. He himself had several fire teachers at home, as well as an earth teacher in Midori, so maybe, for now, she could teach him on Wind Nature. "Would you be okay with teaching me Wind Style?"

Yoshiko wouldn't want to push any type of training over any other. She was confident she could help this student in anything, especially to just give him a better grasp than he had. As a special jounin aspiring to greater, it seemed more than fair to assume she could do that. She had more than a chunnin, but not the well roundness of a jounin. Though she was definitely a specialist within ninjutsu, so when he'd choose to learn more about an element she'd be quite excited. Her face lighting up more so than usual in reaction to the response of her new student.

"I'd love to teach you about wind style, it's like my second or third favorite element." Yoshiko would reply joyfully. She obviously held Jinton at the height of her ninjutsu, but doton and fuuton were rather close to each other. Earth was the nature of her village, but wind was the nature of the sky. She didn't fully grasp the weighted rock technique, but what she did get she loved greatly. It was what gifted her flight, but wind is what gave her flight and ammunition an extra punch in combat.

"Are you interested in learning it for future use or to be better versed against it later?"
The Nohime would ask curiously, as her lesson would very depending on the answer. There was a lot that could be discussed, as well as practiced, so it was better she narrow down his intended use of said knowledge. She didn't want to gab his ear off about information he'd not be using in the least.

Well at least he was going to get what he asked for. Now all he had to do was perform well. So long as he kept some composure that shouldn't be too hard for him. What was he talking about, it was constantly hard. Having to keep up this level of self control was something no person should have to do, and Konsho was bewildered by how so many diplomats made it look easy. None of these emotions reached the surface however. He buried them under duty, the same way he was sure the diplomats did. He had to reflect well on the Apes.

"I was hoping to better defend against it." Konsho admitted, hoping to focus on Yoshiko's question. The same book he head read earlier had told him all he needed to know about the elemental styles, and wind didn't fit his fighting style. Or...at least not his planned one. He hoped to combine ninjutsu and taijutsu with his senjutsu, to create a fighting style that limited his opponent's ability to use their body, and from there beat them in physical combat. Wind ninjutsu could be negated through fire, he knew that, and he planned to utilize Fire Style if he could. However, it would be better if he could fight it without relying solely on fire based ninjutsu. Besides, Konsho was curious, and always wanted to know how the elements worked. Now was his chance.

"D'aww, I guess that means it really isn't one of your favorites." Yoshiko would playfully remark, as she'd hear he wanted to be ready for it thrown at him. Though with Sunagakure as an enemy in the general public's eye, it was definitely a fair assessment to expect wind to be at the enemies aid. Though Yoshiko's mastery of ninjutsu was high enough she'd cockily assume herself better than most Sunagakure shinobi. At least in the aspect of wind elemental jutsu, but her thoughts were pretty mistaken. Her wind style really was covering half of winds basis, but she understood where it could expand.

"Hehe, but it's okay, I can teach you just as much about countering it as using it!" She'd add on quickly after to make it clear she wasn't actually disappointed. She also wasn't discouraged by the challenge of looking to counter her own style. Though she'd approach it less as countering herself and more countering the element.

"Obviously, katon is the counter to fuuton, but having no element that's not super useful information. Knowing elemental counters only really helps if you possess those counters. Average shinobi only having an element or two, it's not really a smart tactic to rely on fire to beat wind." Yoshiko would begin going over something she basically assumed Konsho knew. She wouldn't be surprised if he gave her words a roll of his eyes. She'd try to speak quickly covering such a simple explanation.

"So, to give you some useful training, I'll first teach you what wind is all about. It has two facets; to push things," Yoshiko would state giving a gentle shove to Konsho's upper chest, "Or to cut things." She'd add this being doing an almost chopping motion left to right across Konsho. A demonstration that wasn't really a demonstration, but simply visual gesture to better convey the message.

"Knowing these are the objectives of a wind style jutsu, what do you think would be intrinsic counters to those actions?" Yoshiko would choose to ask Konsho, as to attempt to pull him into the thought process of proactively taking a fight on. If something was attempting to push or cut him, what exactly could it be accomplishing? As well as what could the academy student do to counter it?

Konsho was hanging on Yoshiko's words. When she was teasing his eyes remained on the ground again, his face clearly embarrassed. But once she began explaining how to work against wind nature without relying on fire based ninjutsu, the chakra nature Konsho prayed he had, Konsho was drawn in, everything but her words disappeared... even her. His eyes did not roll, nore did he at any point seem to show any... well emotion. As per usual in any social encounter Konsho was somehow both as stiff as a board and trying to take up as little space as possible.

As one could expect, Konsho was more than shocked when Yoshiko 'suddenly shoved him'. To anyone even remotely paying attention to their physical surroundings, it would have been notable she was going to do something from a mile away. But when Konsho locks in on something, everything else disappears. Making what could only be described as a confused 'huh' sound as Yoshiko demonstrated the push and slice of wind. While Konsho barely moved, it was obvious Yoshiko had pulled him back from some dimension his mind was in. It was at this point Konsho would actually show a visible change of expression, one could practically hear the gears of his head turning. "Well with the slicing and chopping, simple armor could counteract it." He observed. "But with the push... there are too many variables. What direction? Is it pushing to knock me over or just move me away? What if the true goal is to use two opposing winds from different directions to enforce blunt damage?"

Yoshiko couldn't help letting out a giggle as the academy student seemed dumbfounded by her push. It wasn't really the best ninja nature to let oneself slip so out of reality. Perhaps he'd been listening to her every word, but maybe he was a drift just staring at her. She'd try not to consider the worst and instead focus on the best option. She'd cross her hands behind herself, as to show she wouldn't be pushing him again. She didn't want to unnerve the poor kid after all.

"You're not wrong Konsho, but you're also not completely right."
Yoshiko would state in retort to his response, a smile on her face which seemed to show both pride and humbleness. Clearly she didn't think him too wrong and perhaps he was close to being right on the money. "Armor is a device to the counter, but it's smart to think of it as blocking. Applying an object which wouldn't be bested to winds less weighted attack. However wind is versatile and could work around armor itself, so you'd need to apply your training to position it to defend you from the cut. That's blocking." Explained the Nohime.

"However!" She'd add raising a finger, as she'd begin to now pace around the boy. Intentionally attempting to raise his guard a little. "Blocking isn't the only manner to handle the cutting force of wind. There's also dodging and deflecting the force, but deflection is more or less a more complicated block. Perceiving the point or points where wind will cut, then you can potentially avoid it through movement." Approaching behind Konsho, Yoshiko would pat the academy students head. A gentle reminder that what he couldn't see could be his hugest setback.

"As for pushing, you can similarly block, deflect and dodge. It's a broader force, but unlike cutting where you're relying on durability. With pushing you should rely on balance and weight, you're able to be as immovable as stone if you desire. Similarly if you know the direction and relative grasp of the pushing or cutting wind it can be avoided through swift movements and selective positioning." The Nohime would explain, but in each seemingly avoid the exact explanation of 'deflecting' merely leaving it as the complex cousin of the other two methods.

Konsho listened in depth to Yoshiko's in depth different explanation. He was disappointed that he didn't consider that wind bends, although he would never admit that he felt that way. It wouldn't reflect well on his upbringing by the apes. Konsho had to stay in line and be respectful. Still it made sense, wind winds... although most of the wind jutsu he had seen was actually fairly stiff. Perhaps those were jutsu that sacrificed fluidity for raw power. Regardless, from what he was gathering, she was saying wind was best to be avoided, or to put something in the way to take the attack for her, than to force your way through. It made sense, although it seemed every single element made armor completely pointless. Fire would just make the armor an oven, earth would just stab through somehow, lightning would shock you through the armor, and wind could apparently' wrap around and snake it's way in. Water made sense to Konsho however. If you can't breathe you can't breathe, being in thick armor would not help.

Regardless the advice was more than useful to him. "So the best way to deal with wind is to have something in the way and to dodge it." Wind did give a great level of control over the battlefield. Between forcing cover with it's wide attacks, and it's ability to push both enemies and object around, it was useful both in an open field and in crowded areas. "Thank you miss Nohime." He said with a bow, his voice returning to it's quieter and deflated state. "This information is invaluable."

Yoshiko couldn't help giggling at Konsho's reaction, as he'd take her words and seemingly feel accomplished. She'd only half delivered her lesson really and not backed it up yet. So with him bowing she couldn't help reaching out and ruffling his hair about, as to tease him for bowing out so quickly. "Hehe, no problem, but the lesson isn't over!" She'd state retreating her arm and now raising a finger to gesture their was more at hand, at least one more thing.

"I didn't say it's the best way to deal with wind, but it's one of the ways to deal with wind. Well... three of the ways to deal with it. Though they're alternatives to obviously countering with fire, but sometimes fire isn't the best counter to wind." Yoshiko would go on with her lesson, as she'd do so she'd jump backwards performing a set of hand signs. Summoning two small birds of fire from her mouth, they'd swoop around the two high enough to not be an immediate threat.

"Fire is the counter to wind, but wind is also an enhancer to fire." She'd perform another hand sign, as she'd exclaim. "Whoosh!" Suddenly with a slight flutter of wind both fire birds would intensify and speed up darting harmlessly into the earth a good distance from either of them. "The fact of the matter is fire ignites wind, but the right force of wind and the wrong fire can let the wind user redirect that flame back at them."

"Similarly though an equal force or greater of fire can redirect and super charge the fire users attack. That's part of deflection option. Alternatively using things like sails, fans and other similar objects you can redirect wind without jutsu. Granted these things often work better with jutsu applied." Yoshiko hoped she wasn't drowning the boy information, so she'd question if what she spoke was clear. "Does that make sense to you?"

Konsho froze as he was about to leave before being told the lesson would continue. He was admittedly perplexed as to what more there was to say. She had already told him quite a bit, and a part of him feared the information getting to the point where it was crammed into his head and easily jumbled. However, it would be rude to leave mid conversation, especially with one of the strongest ninja in the village. What he was shown however was... well ingenious! Using specific wind ninjutsu to disperse flame, both enhancing and countering an enemy attack. His face had lit up much like the flames did as he witnessed the fire roar in front of him.
[break][break]
Then came the discussion of fans and other such objects as focuses. It made sense to Konsho when he thought about it. The items were closely related with wind, and using them could in theory make moving chakra through the air easier. It would be especially good for deflecting or dispersing air based ninjutsu, which would be quite useful. Perhaps he could work on finding or making something that allowed less chakra to be used when creating wind ninjutsu. His mind was buzzing with various ideas of how to utilize fire and wind together. Maybe once he learned to use senjutsu he could use it along side wind to create various interesting effects. Regardless he hard learned far more than expected. For now he'd stay where he was, waiting to be dismissed, just in case there was more to information to learn... which of course for Konsho accidentally lead to just standing there and staring like a lost seagull.

Konsho would seem rather amused by her jutsu's display. He'd also seemed to be absorbing the words she was speaking. At least he seemed focus upon her, but then he'd just stand their quietly staring at her. It was in away painfully awkward, but not everyone was as flamboyant and excited as her for nothing. She'd hold her smile and shift her head, as though beckoning a response, before she simply had to ask to be sure. "S-So did that all make sense to you Konsho?" She'd ask sort of brighten her smile, as she'd try to be as approachable as possible. If he'd miss understood anything she'd gladly repeat it.

Maybe he needed that open invitation. "If you want I could provide other demonstrations too, so it's more hands on... I really don't mind taking time to help out my fellow future shinobi!" She'd state in a cheerful demeanor, as she'd wait for him to ask. If he was truly all settled on what he'd learn, then she'd give one final chance for him to ask anything. "And was that all you wanted to learn today? If you have any other questions or need anything, then please don't be shy to ask me~!" It was impressive if the boy picked up everything he needed so quickly. Though she did feel like she realistically didn't provide too much aid in this endeavor.

She was half tempted to invite him in for a meal, as a host-ly gesture just to kill a little more time she'd sort of expected to already lose.

As the very woman he had reached out to for help pulled him back to reality, Konsho's mind snapped back into place. Bowing apologetically, Konsho felt deeply ashamed. No doubt he had made everything awkward when he stared off into his own mind. Awkwardness seemed to follow him everywhere. "S-sorry! That was very helpful mam." Konsho quickly shot off, only rising once he was sure it was safe to do so. As he looked around, the world itself felt even taller somehow. His mind already exaggerated everything, as most children's did. Perhaps it was the fact that the sun was nearing the end of setting, but it also seemed darker was well. To most it was the last glimpse of a beautiful view, but in the trap that was his own mind, Konsho was being wrapped in the cool of night. The sun's last colorful rays were more a form of judgemental fire that sought to glare at him until it faded from view.

Gulping, Konsho would look back at the Nohime. If anything could be say of Konsho, he didn't just stop. To anyone who knew him he was infamous for... what was that saying? Burning the midnight oil at both ends? Something like that. "Are there any handsigns that are related to wind release? Or other ways to tell a futon based jutsu before they occur?"
