Kazui slowly made her way away from the Hokage’s estate after receiving the news that she was needed for a mission, the joy and excitement that she held in her heart as she made her way there was drastically different than when she received the actual mission. Dog sitting? Really? The young girl would think to herself as she made her way to the clients house, taking her time to enjoy the village along the way. She couldn’t complain much, she understood that these were the types of missions that she would frequent the most, as Kazuto and many other shinobi explained to her while she was in the academy. So the girl worked up some excitement as she made her way there.

"So .. a simple dog sitting day? Shouldn’t be too difficult, right?”

She would ask herself, her left hand rested gently underneath her chin as she thought. It didn’t seem too bad once she thought about it, she actually enjoyed the presence of animals, so this would be a relatively peaceful day for her. The girl began getting closer and closer to her destination, a little small house near the back of the village, the home had a spacious yard, which was more than likely for the pup.

As the girl grew closer and closer to the little home towards the end of the village, she began to notice two figures standing in front of the door. Two gray, elderly people, no doubt they were the people who had hired Kazui’s service. The two were waving their hands as the Uchiha got closer and closer, greeting the girl with a warm smile. Kazui would wave back and smile as well as she continued to get closer.

’Hmm...where’s the little puppy?’ She would think to herself with each step until she was a few feet away from the married couple.

"Hey how are ya?”

The old man would ask, his voice shaky and withering away from old age, but somehow he still managed to keep a smile on his face throughout everything, his wife beside him as well.

"Hi, I’m doing good.”

The Uchiha would reply, still wondering where in the world the puppy could be. It made sense that they would greet her with the puppy alongside them, but it seemed that wasn’t the case. Perhaps it was somewhere inside. Kazui further inspected the couple, the two were dressed nicely prepared for their date, it was heartwarming to say the least.

The elderly lady would take a step forward closer to Kazui as she handed the girl a piece of paper that had been folded up several times. on the white sheet, there was a list of things for her to do and rules alike. The woman stood beside Kazui as her shaky hand grabbed the paper and began to point out each of the things that would be the most important for the girl to know.

"Can you make sure to feed him before the sunsets, he also needs to be walked at least twice a day, and finally make sure he is clean before he falls asleep. That is all I ask of you.”

The older lady would say with a smile as she allowed Kazui to hold onto the paper for future reference. There was more on the list, but surely those had to be the most important at least to the elderly lady. She probably didn’t want the puppy to fall out of his current schedule, which made sense.

"Yes ma’am. I’ll make sure everything is taken care of.”

The Uchiha would say in her nonchalant tone, a forced smile on her face while she gave the couple a nod. The two would smile and nod their head as well.

"Welp, I guess it’s about time for us to go. We’ll be back later!”

The man would say as the two of them began to walk towards the center of the village. And with that Kazui was left on her own, nothing but a list and a puppy she had yet to see.

Kazui approached the house slowly, taking in the entirety of it before turning the knob to open the door. Once she stepped foot inside the first thing that the girl noticed was how clean everything was. Nothing seemed out of place and everything seemed very clean, perhaps they were just a couple of clean freaks, that wasn’t much of a big deal though. The second thing the girl noticed was that there was still no sign of the puppy, even when she peeked into the back yard, there was nothing except a few bowls and what not. The girl sighed as she continued to walk through the home.

Once she entered the guest room, the girl would be greeted by a giant ball of fur that dash at her as quickly as it could, pouncing on the girl as he licked her face a few times before running off. ’Eh...that was gross.’ Kazui would say as she sat up.

"They call that a puppy?!? That thing is bigger than me.”

She would say as she wiped her face. Everything happened so fast, the girl had no clue where the dog had gone. Her eyes shifted from left to right as she looked to see which way he could have run off towards.

A sigh escaped Kazui’s lips as she stood back up to her feet, still looking in both directions, trying to remember where the "puppy'' had run off to. Still in shock about its size, the girl scratched the top of her head for a moment. ’Where did he run off to? The girl thought. Pressing her lips together, Kazui would begin to whistle in a high pitch as she walked around the house, hoping that it would gain his attention and attract the dog to her.

"Come here boy!”

She would say softly as she made her way back into the main living area of the house. Navigating around the tables, chairs, and other pieces of furniture that happened to be set as decoration, Kazui would make her way towards the front door where she found the giant dog standing just inches away. His breathing was heavy, like he was excited and wanted to have fun. The Uchiha smiled briefly as she figured out what he had wanted.

"O-Oh, you want to go for a walk. Well..let me just get the leash and we can go.”

She would say softly as she turned on her heel and began to look on the counter for the leash that the owners had left behind for her.

As Kazui turned around, a few thumps and knocks could be heard. The sound of claws sliding across the hardwood floor would grab her attention for a second, but she didn’t think much of it, thinking that the dog was clawing at the door out of excitement, it was normal she supposed. Once she managed to find the leash she would turn around to the sight of the dog trying to escape through the doggy door, which he might have used when he was a bit smaller. Instead this time around he had found himself stuck, halfway in and halfway out.

"Oh no no no you don’t.”

Kazui would mumble as she tried to stop him before he was able to get loose, but ultimately failed. As the rest of his body tightly squeezed through the doggy door, the canine would take off down the path and began running wild towards the center of Konoha. The Uchiha followed behind shortly, the leash in her hand as she tried to flag the dog down.

”Hey...wait up!

The girl would say as she ran in stride with the dog. For a dog of that stature, the thing sure could move efficiently. It was a sight to behold, seeing him move with agility. Dark hues remained focused on the puppy as Kazui tried to chase him down. She could tell that the dog was having a fun time running from her.

’Oh I see how it’s going to be. You’re going to make me chase you around this entire village aren’t you? But not on my watch.’ Kazui would think to herself as her dark gaze remained on the dog dashing through the alleys as he made his way towards the streets of Konoha. At that moment, the girl decided to kick it into the next gear, speeding up her running just slightly enough to close the distance between her and the runaway pupper. Once she did so, Kazui would take a leap of faith towards him, caressing him in her arms as the two rolled together. She had finally caught him.

The Uchiha quickly attached the leash to his collar and proceeded to catch her breath. Whoever knew chasing such a big dog could be such a workout? The pup on the other hand didn’t seem to phased on the fact that he was caught, instead he actually looked pretty happy that he was with Kazui. The girl snorted with laughter as she looked at his smiling face, and as she did so, she noticed the tag that was attached to his collar. A hand slowly raised to hold the tag up as she read the words engraved in the metal. ’Sora Hatoru, If found please return to Konoha’s Vet Facility. Thank you. The girl would read to herself as she smiled for a moment.

"Hatoru?! That was my brother’s name.”

She would say excitedly as she petted behind his ears. Hatoru would bark deeply as he proceeded to lie down onto his stomach.

Kazui continued to pet Hatoru behind the ear as he laid in the middle of the village. It was obvious that he was a bit tired from the wild goose chase that he had led Kazui on, but it was certainly something that he enjoyed. The young girl could see that he had fun while running around, and it seemed as if he were too tired to get up.

"I guess I can check off that walk now, or at least one of them.”

The girl would say as she rummaged through the pouch on the small of her back and proceeded to pull out a small notepad and ink so that which she could write. Flipping through the notepad until there was a clear white page, the girl would begin to write, ’Two walks a day, feed before the sun sets, and bath him before he sleeps.’ There, now she can keep track of everything that was left for her to do. Kazui would put a check mark beside the first chore, signifying that she had done one of the walks already.

"I’ll put the second check mark once we get back to the house.”

She would mumble underneath her breath before standing up and shaking the leash that was attached to Hatoru.

"Come on boy!”

The girl would say softly in an excited tone as if she were talking to a baby or something along those lines. It was true that she was a sucker for animals, she loved them all, especially cats and dogs but even those took a backseat compared to birds. She even liked to refer to herself as the animal whisperer, not really because she was effective at communicating with them, but mostly because of her love for them.

Kazui continued to shake the leash, and Hatoru would stand to his feet and would begin to gallop alongside the young Uchiha as she made her way down the street. The two were going to walk back to this house, this time with Kazui leading the way and with the big puppy following suit. While they did so, Kazui would enjoy the view. The sun was beginning to set behind the trees which painted a picture perfect skyline with shades of orange, blue, red, white, and yellow. It was definitely a sight to be held. The girl knew however that she would need to feed him once they returned home, so she began to pick up the pace, following the road that led to Hatoru’s home.

Once the two return to the home, Kazui would fill Hatoru’s food bowl with the dog food that the elderly couple left behind for him, the girl would also give him plenty of water, knowing that he exercised not too long ago, surely he was thirsty. From there Kazui would let Hatoru do whatever he felt like doing, she wouldn’t try to force him to eat, instead she would sit there and watch as she rested her head on the table.

For a moment it seemed as if Hatoru wasn’t interested in eating, but soon enough after drinking his water, he would turn his attention to the bowl of doggy chow that was in his bowl and would proceed to eat. A sigh of relief escaped from Kazui’s lips as she lifted her head from the table and grabbed ahold of her notepad yet again. The girl would flip pages until she found the page where she had left, and from there she would mark off everything except one, which was to bathe the puppy before he goes to sleep.

As time passed by, Hatoru would finish his food and would proceed to lay at Kazui’s foot as she sat at the table, she could tell he was a bit tired so she would tap him a few times to ensure that he stayed awake.

"We still have one last thing to do boy.”

She would say softly as she stood from her seat and made her way outside, and fortunately enough Hatoru would follow along. From there Kazui would find an assortment of different soaps they used for the puppy and a bin used to hold the water. The young girl would fill the bin with water and Hatoru would willing hop in, and Kazui would proceed to bathe him just in time as the couple were arriving.

Once she was finished, Kazui would dry Hatotu off and would let him do as he pleased, which was more than likely going to be sleep. As the two returned in the house, they would be greeted by the couple.

"Oh thank you so much, Kazui, was it? Thanks for taking care of my baby. I hope he wasn’t too much of a trouble to you.”

The elderly lady would say, and her husband would nod along. Hatoru on the other hand would lie down in the main living area and proceed to doze off.

"You’re welcome madam, and no he wasn’t any trouble at all, he was an angel even.”

Kazui would say as she headed towards the door.

"It was an honor watching over him.”

The girl would say before waving goodbye to the couple and heading on back to the Kage’s estate.
