NOTES: The Wolf Menace

Tetsumi had planned on completing this mission alone.

It was a relatively simple one. Deal with the pack of rabid wolves that resided just outside of the village. At first, the wolves were nothing more than a mild annoyance to capable shinobi, and cause for a detour to civilians, but the situation had begun to get out of hand as the wolves rapidly increased in their boldness. The case had gone from a bothersome pack of wild animals to a pack of savage beasts that fatally injured a merchant. That was when Tetsumi became interested.

A pack of wolves should have been no problem for Tetsumi, and he knew that he could take them on his own. After all, they were just a group of savage animals. Animals didn't fight like shinobi. They were unintelligent, unorganized, and not to mention weak. Which is why Tetsumi felt a sort of disappointment in the fact that the village thought that he would even need help. He'd figured that after he accepted the mission, both his superiors and the villagers would rejoice in the fact that he was on the job. That's what he felt should have happened, at least. And yet, here he was, arms crossed, and waiting for his partner to meet him at the entrance to the village.

As the sun continued to set, Tetsumi pondered about what his teammate would be like. At the given moment, Tetsumi knew little more than the boy's name, but what he did know about was Asashi's efficiency with medical ninjutsu. That was rare to see from a genin. Tetsumi thought that perhaps it was good for him to have someone like that back him up.

Not that he expected to get hit, of course.

Tetsumi brushed his thoughts to the side, and prepared himself. It was about time for his partner to show up, and for them to begin their mission. He wore a long-sleeved black shirt under his standard green flak jacket, as well as black pants and shoes. His headband was tied around his neck, like it usually was, and he came prepared for the night mission, a lantern waiting to be lit, sitting on the ground next to him. He trusted that Asashi would have one as well.

He stood there, expecting Asashi to show up at any moment.

The mission seemed pretty straightforward to the genin. There was a pack of wolves causing the people traveling to Konoha trouble. A pack of wild animals shouldn't prove to be too much trouble, aside from the pack aspect. They would probably attack in numbers. A pack also usually came with a leader, so what would that wolf be like. Questions and strategies to potentially address them swirled through the green haired boy's mind as he made his way to the village gates. There was a chuunin assigned on the mission with him. Tetsumi Senju, and although not much was given to him about his teammate on the mission, the person's last name spoke volumes. The Senju were one of the old clans, like the Uchiha, established well before his time. With that limited information, the boy's imagination ran wild. After prior experiences with going on missions with chuunin of the village, he was optimistic about how things would go with this one. As he walked, he looked down deep and thought and missed the sunset. After darkness came over the sky, he glanced up to find the village gate only a few feet away. At the village entrance, he saw someone in a flak jacket, presumably waiting for him. Asahi had his white, medical like jacket tied around his waist with a pretzel knot, it slightly covering his waist pouches. His green tank top sat tight on his upper body with his Konoha headband wrapped around his neck, and black drawstring pants led down to black ninja sandals. His porcelain mask was strapped to the straps of his gray backpack and an unlit lantern hung from the opposite strap. As he got closer to the person, who saw a black haired boy who couldn't be too much older than he was. In the light given by the night, the first thing Asahi noticed was the boy's similar eye color to his own golden orbs staring at his teammate. He blinked after realized this and broke the silence hoping he hadn't stared to long. "Asahi Oorigami. Genin. Here for the mission with Tetsumi Senju." The genin started things off rather officially, at least with those higher ranking then he. This was a lesson engrained in him by an interaction with an Uchiha man not too long ago.

Tetsumi scanned over Asashi with his eyes as the genin gradually moved closer to him. When Asashi came close enough for him to more accurately see, Tetsumi began to analyze the boy, who couldn't have been much older or younger than himself, his eyes shifting down as he did so. His messy green hair just barely came close to covering his piercing golden eyes, just like Tetsumi’s. Tetsumi then took notice of the manner in which the boy dressed. A medical-like coat tied around his waist, and a tank-top. Oddly casual, but he still seemed battle ready. Tetsumi's eyes then settled on the lantern hanging from Asashi's side. He came prepared. Good.

Tetsumi blinked as his eyes shifted back upwards at his partner's who he'd realized was now staring at him. Tetsumi stared back at the boy for what felt like ages, although it couldn't have been more than a couple of seconds. Tetsumi took notice of this, even though it seemed like the boy had meant no harm.

Tetsumi blinked once more as his partner broke the silence. He began to narrow his eyes, considering the somewhat formal way at which the boy introduced himself and his intentions. At least Asashi knew which of the two of them was to be in charge here. 

"About time. I was beginning to think you weren't going to show up." Tetsumi said blankly. He knew, however, that Asashi was roughly on time. 

"You look to be about the same age as me, but make no mistake. I'll be the one calling the shots here." Tetsumi affirmed, as he picked up the lantern, pulled a match out from his side pocket, and lit it. "I trust you understand the details of the mission?" He questioned. "We'll travel along the pathway until we either find the wolves, or the wolves find us." He continued, before glancing up at the full moon. "The full moon will ensure that the pack will either be out hunting in full force tonight, and that they’ll try to make us their prey, or that we'll hear their howls, and they’ll lead us right to them. When that happens, we'll take them out. Any questions?" It was a simple plan, so he wasn't expecting Asashi to have any burning questions.

A confused look came over Asahi's face at Tetsumi's greeting in return. The genin looked down at the silver and black watch on his left wrist. Was his watch wrong? No, no way. The boy's attention went from his watch, to the sky to check nature's telling of time. He was on time for sure, or at least close enough. Testumi's next words reclaimed Asahi's attention. The chuunin was stating something that should have been inherently obvious, but it gave Asahi another piece to his initial impression of the boy. Asahi continued to listen with a neutral face, as he analyzed his teammates plan, along with his teammate. It was a rather simple strategy, but this was a rather simple problem. "Seems like an alright enough plan...," Asahi said as he thought about any questions he had, and rather to address them. He would let the boy call the shots as long as he didn't call one that Asahi thought was too off... As for questions, he, had a few... "Is there any information on how many are in the pack? And what do we do if they outnumber us by a bit?" was the first. "Do you think there is a reason this pack has made the road to our village their hunting ground? Aside from merchant goods and people being a potentially tasty meal?" he followed up. And then he threw out what he had wanted to lead his questions with, but had decided it was best to save it. "And shouldn't it be presumed that the higher ranking shinobi will take lead on a mission? Since your experience and skill should outclass mine? But yeah, of course, you call the shots. Oh! And can I get one of those matches? Seems that was the one thing I forgot..." These last questions were a sort of social jab in Asahi's own way. As if to say, "You questioning whether you were the lead or not, says that there maybe should be a question." But the boy couldn't simply say that. So he tried to hide it in his tone and play the part of the ignorant genin, at least for those last questions. If given a match, he would unclip his lantern and light it as well.

"Seems like an alright enough plan...,"

Good. The boy could listen. Tetsumi began to turn around, before his movements were interrupted by the curious tone of his partner's voice asking him how many there were in the pack.

"Sources tell us there are about seven of them." Tetsumi answered. "Meaning that they will outnumber us. However, their numbers compared to ours is irrelevant. You don't need to worry about that." He assured Asahi. It was a decent amount of wolves, that was certain. Seven wolves shouldn't have been too much of a problem for a couple of capable shinobi, although it pretty much meant certain death or injury to an average person, which is why they were there to eliminate them.

Asahi's next question was on whether Tetsumi thought that there was a reason the wolves had selected their path. Tetsumi thought about the nature of the question. The question seemed harmless, although it was another irrelevant one. Tetsumi decided to answer honestly. "The wolves have probably lived out in the wilderness a lot longer than we have. Perhaps some of our merchants wandered too far or somehow obstructed their natural habitat. To them, it's probably as if we're impeding on their home. That's why we have to remind them of who is the dominant species here." He said. While he would quickly end the wolves without remorse if it came to protecting the village, he couldn't help but feeling a little selfish as a human due to the reasons he'd just stated.

And then came another question. By this point, Tetsumi was annoyed, and the question that was asked didn't help at all. Tetsumi rolled his eyes as he took out another match and tossed it at Asahi, before turning around, and facing the path leading out of the village. "Look, just follow my lead and stay out of my way." He snarled, as he began to hastily walk on the path.

The full moon dimly lit the two boys who were now walking amongst the path. Tetsumi's eyes constantly shifted from left to right, watching for any sign of wolves. He hadn't said a word to his partner since they'd left the village, which was now about ten minutes ago.

Asahi listened to the older ranked boy's answers to his questions. He could see the annoyance creeping in until the final blow landed. Asahi flinched at the snarled command to stay out of the way and caught the match. And when Tetsumi had turned his back, Asahi let a smirk escape on his face. With that, he lit his own lantern and kept the hurried pace behind Tetsumi. The silence of the night settled into their hunt. But it wasn't true silence, with the sounds of nature all around them. The high pitched sounds of night insects and little rustles here and there of small night creatures had their say. The genin's golden eyes went from left to right as well, alert. "Dominate species huh? You say that like we couldn't get ambushed by a pack bigger than seven. And either way seven wolves might not be that easy if they all come at us at once..." Asahi said and broke the silence. "If they feel like we're trespassing in their home and we feel the same, it leads to this..." he said formulating his thought for a brief moment. "What makes this any different than a fight with other shinobi over borders, where either side could come out as the winner?" "You say were dominant. I think dominance can be won and lost. In nature we're all the same. Fight to live and try your hardest not to die..." the genin said his peice, before finishing.  "Do you really think humans are the dominant species here?" Asahi's words stemmed from his upbringing out in the nature close to the swamps of Kawa. Because of where his parents stayed, he got to see the regular forest and the wetlands. Two vastly different ecosystems, but the rule he had stated stayed the same in either. Fight to live and try not to die. And in and around Kawa, many flora or animal could easily kill a man if they slipped up. The genin spoke with genuine curiosity in Tetsumi's answer.

An annoyed sigh escaped Tetsumi's lips as his partner finally broke the silence. Boy, this kid sure had a lot to say about the nature of their mission. Tetsumi figured that Asahi had some sort of affinity for nature by the types of statements he was making. If that were the case, it was a trait that the two of them would share. Another commonality between the two, when Tetsumi had at first thought them to be completely different in terms of both their skill, competence, and views. Tetsumi didn't know whether to be relieved or disgusted by their similarities thus far. His conclusion would most likely come when he was able to witness how Asahi fared in battle. Tetsumi didn't really care for Asahi's concerns with their being a large amount of wolves. He was quite confident in his own ability to eliminate a large amount of foes by himself, but Asahi's next statements threw him off a little.

"You say were dominant. I think dominance can be won and lost. In nature we're all the same. Fight to live and try your hardest not to die...do you really think humans are the dominant species here?"

Asahi had an interesting viewpoint when it came to the concept of dominance, Tetsumi had to admit that. That, however, didn't matter to him. They had a mission to complete.

"Frankly, I don't really care who the dominant species is. Perhaps the wolves should've been the ones to question that before they killed an innocent civilian." Tetsumi said sarcastically, as he stepped on a leaf. A little more silence followed before he decided that he would speak again. "You...seem to know quite a bit about the natural order of the world. What's that all about?" Tetsumi asked, although this time his question was only half-sarcastic. He was curious about Asahi in general, and wanted to know a little more about him, but he would never say that outright.

Asahi smirked at Tetsumi's sarcastic response. And if either of them were to be caught in the jaws of the wolves and lose their life, the wolves could make the same statement if they took one of the pack's own. Then there was another silence, and the Senju boy unexpectedly broke it himself this time. The question caught the genin off guard, but he agreed. Nodding he said, "Reading, and observation more so, I guess. The house I grew up in was a short canoe away from Kawa's territory. So nature was my backyard, and it was who I played with growing up." The genin's golden eyes still searched through the trees for signs of anything as he continued, "I explored a lot of normal nature, like what we are looking through. And then I explored a lot of Kawa, which seems to be it's own biome, resembling a swamp, but some of the creatures and plants in there are...different, abnormal. The wrong insect biting you could kill you. Brushing up against the wrong leaf could paralyze you. Couple that with many species of flora and fauna being undiscovered or barely researched and-" Asahi stopped himself and summed it up. "In Kawa even things that seem like no threat can be the greatest. But that could be applied as another general life rule, I'd argue." he went on, remembering the times he came into close contact with harm and death while exploring the wetlands. The genin's grip around his lantern tightened as the memory of almost being abducted and potentially cannibalized intrusively made it's way to the front of the boy's brain. It was another example of his earlier words. Dominance could be won and lost. He had lost it temporarily, and somehow gained it back enough to escape unharmed that day. "But yeah, nature has always been fascinating to me. The living things. Humans, animals, and plants...But what about you? Your confidence and the way you're carrying yourself right now, makes it seem like you're pretty at home here?" From Tetsumi's attitude Asahi guessed that he had experience in nature, or with wild animals of some sort. Or maybe he had been on a mission similar to this before? Or had to fight a wolf before? Either way, the Senju boy didn't seem to concerned about the potential danger, or if he was concerned seemed pretty confident in their ability to handle it.

As the boys trekked on, Tetsumi listened with a certain hidden interest to what Asahi had to say about nature. Nature had been an interest of Tetsumi's mind for as long as he could remember, that interest becoming even more enhanced when he manifested the ever-so versatile mokuton. Nature could be a fickle thing, and could be your best friend if you went about treating it properly, but could also be your worst enemy if you treated it with malice, which led to the personal internal conflict that Tetsumi had regarding this mission. He knew that it had to be done. The problem had gone too far. At the same time, however, he knew that the wolves didn't know any better. If only there was another way to solve the problem...?

Asahi's next words struck Tetsumi. He looked to the ground in silence as Asahi described the fact that things that look like no threat could be your worst nightmare. It was an extremely important rule in Tetsumi's mind, one that he'd had to learn the hard way when his father died years ago. Despite this, however, he knew that he'd grown cocky in recent times. The cautiousness that came after his father's death had quickly melted away as he became more confident in his abilities. This was a double-edged sword, as it meant that he was generally fearless, but it also meant that he would probably be getting himself into trouble at some point because of it. Tetsumi remained silent after Asahi spoke, now in deep thought. Despite first impressions, Asahi was much more mature than Tetsumi initially figured him, especially for his age. Tetsumi, of course, had no plans to tell Asahi that anytime soon.

Tetsumi picked his head back up as Asahi changed the subject and inquired about his confidence in their mission, and his relationship with nature. "I've always admired nature, and I think my continued mastery of the wood style has only made me appreciate it even more." Tetsumi answered, a little more honestly than he perhaps would have upon first meeting Asahi. "As for my confidence? I don't often find myself doubting my own skill when it comes to eliminating targets, especially wild animals. Doubt leads to hesitation, and hesitation will get you killed." He said, grimly. Perhaps his own little piece of advice for Asahi, although Tetsumi was probably a little too far on the wrong side of the spectrum when it came to self-confidence.

Still, no sign of wolves. Tetsumi decided to continue their conversation. "What do you hope to achieve by being a shinobi? Surely, you must have some type of goal?" Tetsumi asked, rather bluntly. He wanted to pick Asahi's brain a little more, as well as perhaps gain a little insight as to the boys skills.

It seemed like the two had found a conversation they could have. The tension, aside from the wolf threat, eased up a bit as Asahi listened to Tetsumi. Ahhh, that was right. The Senju specialized in wood release, so Tetsumi's statement about the wood style contributing to that admiration, didn't surprise Asahi. The green haired boy wondered what it was like to be able to use wood the way the Senju did. How would that effect one's relationship with nature? Asahi's relationship was one more of an active observer, but Asahi imagined that as a Senju, Tetsumi may have felt closer to it than that. Then his partner spoke on his confidence, and his last statement sent a chill down Asahi's spine. The chill was from it's truth. What had Tetsumi's experienced on his path to become a chuunin that brought that truth, or was it something taught to him? Asahi's curiosity about the Senju boy continued to grow. Asahi didn't respond to Tetsumi's question immediately. He thought on it a bit. Another chuunin had asked him that very same question, so Asahi thought about if his answer had changed at all since then. "My goal as a shinobi...is to learn as much about the body, nature and it's creatures, and the shinobi world as possible. Become a knowledgeable medic like my father, and a great tinkerer and vessel arm user, like my mother," he started. "Combine those skills and use all my knowledge to help where I can, whether that be the world, our village, or a passing stranger," he finished. The last sentence, about helping, was something he had been trying to convince himself of for a while. This was also due to his parent's nature and how he had seen them welcome strangers into their lives and help when they could. But Asahi went where his curiosity took him, and that wasn't always to help. Sometimes, it was to hurt. There was knowledge to be gained in hurting as well. For example, he wanted to become a combat medic who could ignore the medic rules. One who could fight first and leave running or hiding as a second option. This was something that conflicted with the very nature of being a medic on the field. But he wanted to do so because he knew that the medical knowledge he had could be used to cause harm effectively, to any enemy in his way... So it was safe to say that the last part may have come off a little shaky, but the first part about wanting to learn as much about everything around him as possible, had a certainty to it. Like it was a truth he had been following all his life, and it was.

Tetsumi listened as Asahi described his goals as a shinobi. Ah, so he was a medic. Tetsumi knew that going in, but it was good to see that Asahi was so passionate about what he wanted to become, and for righteous enough reasons. He could respect that. As for Tetsumi? He also wanted to continue to work as a shinobi to protect his village and all its inhabitants, although his path had become slightly muddled due to his want—his need to become stronger. He wouldn't let anything like what had happened to his father happen to him, and he'd be dammed if he'd let it happen to a teammate or ally on his watch.

"I see. Well perhaps I'll be seeing you out in the field more when you're promoted. Or, in the hospital room..." Tetsumi joked. At this point, the impenetrable wall that was his guard had shown a crack in it, as he, inexplicably to him, saw a bit of himself in his newfound companion. Although in Tetsumi's mind, save for a couple of similarities, the two couldn't be farther apart. "That is, if you get promoted. Hopefully by that time I'll still be young enough to fight." Tetsumi added. Despite him easing up a little, he would still keep his somewhat demeaning nature about him.

The two shinobi approached a clearing, a grass field surrounded by trees, lit only by the two lanterns and the brilliant full moon. "Still no sign of the wolves. Maybe we should--"

Crack

Tetsumi halted in both his step and his speech, as the sound of a branch cracking could be hear behind the two boys. He immediately snatched a kunai from one of his pockets. "Looks like they found us first." He said, his eyes darting from side to side, preparing himself for an ambush of bloodthirsty hounds.

Asahi let out a short, under the breath laugh at Tetsumi's joke. He had been on a couple missions, but he could only imagine what type of missions chuunin shinobi went on. So, maybe he would be seeing Tetsumi in the hospital. Hopefully it wouldn't be after this mission though. Asahi let out a small smile at how the energy had changed between he and Tetsumi. The small smile turned to a smirk with Tetsumi's somewhat demeaning addition. "Heh! You're not that much older than me. Don't let me catch up, or worse, pass you," Asahi playfully snapped back. His golden eyes kept their watch and the two made it to a lantern lit clearing. Asahi was just about to agree with his teammate, but the CRACK of wood behind them, told him otherwise. He froze at the same time Tetsumi did. He had been so focused on looking ahead, and side to side. He hadn't even considered behind them. Asahi let his backpack fall to the ground and retrieved a kunai for his right hand from his pouch as well. But as soon as the backpack was out of the way, instinctively he activated his clan's hijutsu. Two arms made of bone-like chakra material broke through the fabric of his tank top. It materialized from the tattoo on his back to join outside his normal arms in a bracing stance. Finally he glanced over his shoulder, to see the threat behind them. Two wolves with grey coats approached, slow, in an almost stalking manner. The genin saw their snarling teeth as their low growl became audible. And there wasn't just growls behind them. There were growls all around them. How many? Asahi wasn't quite sure. Maybe it was seven...maybe it was more...And Asahi didn't like this one bit. He felt like an animal backed into a corner. Fight or flight was kicking in, and there was nowhere to fly. And whether it was the fear, or the adrenaline, Asahi did something out of character and with little thought. He acted first...or maybe it was at the same time. But he went for the two wolves behind him, and heard the barks, growls, and paws as the other wolves made their moves. He would begin to lunge at the wolf on the left of the pair, as if to meet it as it went to lunge itself, teeth ready to clinch down and tear. If this was an ambush, best to get on with it. Our at least that's how his brain thought when faced with desperation.

Passive Abilities
Chakra Control SA

Genetics and an inclination towards medical ninjutsu has led him to hone his chakra control to make up for his average sized chakra pool. He could be classified as an adept at best, but still has better chakra control than his peers who have focused on other things. He knows how to find the equilibrium between unneeded chakra and energy, and just enough for jutsu, but is still working to lengthen this efficiency and endurance in the field.

The rigorous training from his mother who tattooed the seal on his back, gave him enough experience for the extra arms this Hijutsu brings to feel natural at this point. Only able to make two, he uses them to hold extra weapons, and assist in other ways inside battle, medical training, and in everyday life. However, he still has much further to go, with more arms to come in the future and more ways to get quicker, stronger and better at utilizing them.

They can only affect certain materials with this power however, specifically the bone-like chakra material known as Ki or Vessel, of which their long skeletal arms are made of. As the clan member grows in age, their brain power increases, thus allowing them to control more and more arms. However, while a Jounin may potentially control up to 12 arms, they have to consider how many arms they can indeed carry on their back, meaning many simply decide to use 6 and summon the rest of needed.

The arms, as I have said before, need to be carried on the user's back. However, this is not the same as carrying a backpack or a storage device for these arms. The arms are very much protruding from the back of the clan member, with no other obstructions, using a highly complicated fuuinjutsu technique. In this technique, the arms appear from 'ports' on a tattoo engraved onto the clan member's back. The larger and more complicated the tattoo, the older and more experienced the clan member.

Tetsumi watched in awe as Asahi sprouted two arms out of his back. Okay, he had definitely not seen a just like that before. At least not one that was done with no handseals. It clearly wasn't a typical jutsu. Was it even a jutsu. Tetsumi thought about how inconvenient normal shirts must have been with an ability like that in your back pocket, before snapping back to focus at the situation at hand. Asahi had jumped to attack the wolf first, much to Tetsumi's surprise. Man, this kid was just full of surprises today, wasn't he?

As Asahi took down the wolf on the left, the wolf on the right geared to pounce on him. Without hesitation, Tetsumi dropped his lantern on the ground, and darted towards the wolf, kunai in hand. Just before the wolf was able to make its attack on Asahi, Tetsumi drove his blade into the side of the thing, stabbing it once more on the ground to ensure its demise. "You're welcome." He said, before he rose back to his battle position. Just as he expected, six more wolves would jump out of the trees, surrounding the two boys. These wolves were certainly bigger than any wolves that Tetsumi had come into contact with, which was probably why the civilians of the village were having such a hard time with them. The wolves snarled and growled, now even more angry at the sight of their fallen comrade. "Hope you know how to use those things!" Tetsumi joked, referring to Asahi's arms, as the wolves continued to close in.

Asahi turned his head to see the other wolf lunging at him from behind as he dealt with one of them. The pounce was quick and he didn't have much time to react. Fuck. He would have to prepare for a bite...No! He watched Tetsumi drive a kunai into the attacked wolf, it hitting the ground and being struck again with a finishing blow from the Senju boy. Asahi simply nodded at his partner's "You're welcome." and got in a battle position as well. The six wolves jumped out from the trees and into the clearing and began to circle them as a pack. They seemed to be even more ferocious at the sight of their fallen pack members. Asahi tried to keep his eyes on all of them as they circled, waiting for one to break and attack, but they all closed in at the same time. They were big, and they were smart, coordinated. Asahi heard Tetsumi's joke about his arms but didn't really react to that either, letting out a small, "Tch," under his breath. The green haired genin was in fight mode, the same fight mode the wolves were. "Don't look this way!" he instructed, as he did some handseals. The technique may not get all the wolves, but he could get the ones who were focused on him. Once the few handseals were completed, he focused raiton chakra to a point right above his forehead and activated the flash flare technique. From the point, an instant flash of blinding light erupted. He saw the three wolves who had been looking at him draw back and whine from the pain to their eyes. When Asahi was taught this technique, he had been told many used it to run away. He would be doing the opposite, using it to get a moment to attack. He pulled out another kunai, dual wielding them now as he dashed toward one of the effected three. When close, he dropped his weight and drove the two kunai into that wolf's side in an attempt to knock it over. As it fell from the weight and strike, Asahi pulled the two kunai apart like scissors, attempting to rip into the animal and do more damage.

Genetics and an inclination towards medical ninjutsu has led him to hone his chakra control to make up for his average sized chakra pool. He could be classified as an adept at best, but still has better chakra control than his peers who have focused on other things. He knows how to find the equilibrium between unneeded chakra and energy, and just enough for jutsu, but is still working to lengthen this efficiency and endurance in the field.

The rigorous training from his mother who tattooed the seal on his back, gave him enough experience for the extra arms this Hijutsu brings to feel natural at this point. Only able to make two, he uses them to hold extra weapons, and assist in other ways inside battle, medical training, and in everyday life. However, he still has much further to go, with more arms to come in the future and more ways to get quicker, stronger and better at utilizing them.

They can only affect certain materials with this power however, specifically the bone-like chakra material known as Ki or Vessel, of which their long skeletal arms are made of. As the clan member grows in age, their brain power increases, thus allowing them to control more and more arms. However, while a Jounin may potentially control up to 12 arms, they have to consider how many arms they can indeed carry on their back, meaning many simply decide to use 6 and summon the rest of needed.

The arms, as I have said before, need to be carried on the user's back. However, this is not the same as carrying a backpack or a storage device for these arms. The arms are very much protruding from the back of the clan member, with no other obstructions, using a highly complicated fuuinjutsu technique. In this technique, the arms appear from 'ports' on a tattoo engraved onto the clan member's back. The larger and more complicated the tattoo, the older and more experienced the clan member.

"Don't look this way!" Asahi ordered him. At first, Tetsumi was confused by the command (And a little upset that Asahi was trying to usurp him as leader of the mission), but as he saw his partner start to weave a couple of hand seals, he understood what was going on. Not entirely, but he at least was able to deduce the fact that Asahi was going to use some type of blinding jutsu. Tetsumi both turned around and covered his eyes with his arm. When he uncovered his eyes, Asahi and the wolf were on the ground, so he guessed that Asahi's plan had worked.

Tetsumi quickly focused his attention back on the wolves that were on his side. Three wolves would've been simple to handle for him, even though these wolves were massive. He prepared himself as one of the wolves engaged, lunging at him, as another wolves was close behind. With only a moment to react, he dashed to the side, avoiding the attack of the first wolf, and quickly weaved together a couple of hand seals. "Wood Release: Cutting Technique!" He exclaimed, forming his right hand into a makeshift sword, and using it to jump into and impale the second wolf that had lunged at him. He landed on top of the wolf on the ground, pulled his hand-sword out of the wolf, and stabbed it again. Another target eliminated. He wondered how Asahi was doing with his wolves.

That thought was quickly brushed aside as he went to engage the third wolf who was standing behind the other two (Now one).
