Enyo was bored on the ship. He had been stationed here with a crew, they were supposed to watch for things. But these things were boring and Enyo thought he was well above such a belittling activity. On occasion, the man in charge would walk by and tell him to look sharp, but Enyo always ended up leaning against the starboard bow, his gaze bleary with boredom and sleep. That was what he really wanted, was to fall asleep standing here. But some maintenance of one's appearance had to be upheld, Enyo was very invested in how he looked and how other's perceived him. It was all part of making sure that he was convincing in whatever act he decided to take on that day.

At some point, Enyo had taken up a kunai from one of his pouches and started to carve quietly into the side of the ship where he was leaning, the doodles were idle. Mostly flowery designs and the Kuronmeru clan sigil, quietly doodling waiting for something interesting to happen. There was, nothing interesting and it certainly did not convince Enyo that he would ever have a proper career in the navy. How could anyone enjoy this fishy salty smell, the boredom, and the nauseating feeling that was brought on by the ship rocking among the waves?

On the open was exactly where Kamui wanted to be at all times if he could help it, though even now he found himself growing somewhat bored of the task the crew had been assigned to on this particular day. They needed to inspect some weird unmarked boat, but from what Kamui understood there was still the chance that nothing exciting would come of it.

Thankfully, there was another source of entertainment on board, some genin that had been stationed to come along for the mission. From atop his watch in the crow's nest, Kamui had been keeping an eye on the younger Kuronmeru, noting with some amusement that Enyo seemed to be bored as well. A devious idea took hold in the Hozuki's mind, and it only took him a few moments to scribble an ugly face onto a spare scrap of cloth, affixing it to one of his arrows. Before he enacted his prank, Kamui made sure to sweep over the horizon for the ship they were looking for, nodding when he was sure that it wasn't anywhere close yet before expertly taking aim with his bow and firing.

The rolling of the waves might've made archery harder for the average person but Kamui was well acquainted with it, and it felt like it even made it easier most of the time. He was aiming for the spot just next to Enyo, hoping to stick the arrow with its ugly cartoony face right next to the genin to see how he'd react.

Enyo was quiet and bored and mostly immobile doodling something when the arrow with the face lodged itself next to him. He let out a shout and stumbled off to the side with the kunai at the ready. A few of the others on the ship looked over towards Enyo when he shouted and then a few of those would snicker in amusement glancing up, knowing very well where the arrow had come from. Enyo on the other hand had no proper idea and after he got his bearings would walk over to it and pull it out to inspect the face that had been drawn and then without warning, out of pure spite, would snap the arrow shaft in half before tossing it into the water below... Along with the drawing.

"Your art isn't very good." He announced quite loudly before he leaned back against the bow, a bit bitterly. Because he had not liked the practical joke and if there was any more where that came from he would be throwing every bit that was thrown at him into the ocean that was for sure because whoever was doing it was really making him bristle... So much so that he stabbed the kunai he held into the bow a bit more aggressively than before.

Kamui watched with a mixture of curiosity and amusement as he got an interesting reaction out of the newcomer on the ship, stifling a chuckle of his own at the genin's unbridled shock. His expression flashed to surprise once Enyo snapped his poor arrow in half, though a smile immediately came back to his fact. Interesting... The Hozuki couldn't help but stifle another laugh as Enyo gave some commentary on his artwork, immediately knowing what he needed to do next as he pulled out another scrap of cloth and got to drawing.

Again, Kamui took aim before letting loose an arrow with the cloth attached, still aiming for a spot close to Enyo's position, but with just a bit more distance and safety in mind. The drawing on the cloth this time were a frowny face with the words 'Sorry! Look up?' scrawled just below, and provided Enyo did as the cloth asked, he would see Kamui waving gleefully from his perch in the crow's nest.

"How's my art this time?"

Kamui could feel daggers being stared into his back of his head, no doubt from his captain, so the Hozuki figured it was now time to tone down the pranks just a bit. Pausing his interaction with Enyo for a moment to scan the ocean around them. This time his search was reward with just a hint of a tip of a ship on the horizon, prompting him to do his due diligence and signal it to the rest of the ship.

"Ship spotted, east-northeast!"

Enyo was starting to feel safe for a moment when the arrow landed nearby again. He jumped, but not quite as bad as last time being already just a tiny bit on edge. The boy inspected what was presented, this time a simple frowny face and some words telling him to look up. So he would, his head craning back towards the crow's nest. There was a man with greenish hair waving seemingly joyfully towards him, but Enyo kept to his promise. He took up the arrow and snapped it in half before tossing it into the arrow bitterly. Though, he did smile up at the man in contradiction to his own actions.

"You should take up painting," Enyo spoke in return, though his tone dripped with bits of sarcasm. It seemed though that the man did not want to continue playing the prank game as he returned to searching the horizon. Beyond some islands, he spotted a ship and announced it. Enyo would move towards that spot on the ship and look out. It was hard to see from this angle, but with a bit of squinting, sure enough, there was a ship.

It was getting closer and closer, were they going to stop it? The genin didn't have a lot of say on the ship, mostly because he knew the crew here wouldn't listen to him no matter what his demands would be. So he waited for some kind of signal to do something.

While he had a smile on his face while he waved, a fully disingenuous shocked expression returned as Enyo snapped yet another one of his precious arrows and tossed it into the ocean. Kamui played up his reaction even further, willing a single tear to his eyes before flashing to a bright smile and pretending to be bashful. He clasped his hands together beside his cheeks as he returned with an equally sarcastic response.

"Oh you think so? Will you be my very own personal art patron?"

Again Kamui could feel the daggers being stared into the back of his head, and this time the Hozuki turned to actually see his captain's expression. It was just as stoic as ever with just the barest hints of annoyance. A nonverbal exchange was had before the captain began giving actual orders to the entirety of the crew, commanding the crew to prepare to board and search the other ship when it was close enough. It was all pretty standard, and Kamui himself began to wave signal flags towards the other ship only to realize something was a bit amiss.

"Captaaaain! The ship isn't flying a flag!"

That immediately sent alarm bells ringing in the minds of the crew, and after only a moment of consideration the captain changed the orders to begin a more guarded and hostile approach. Just to help keep Enyo in the loop, Kamui called down from the crow's nest to the genin,

"They're not flying a flag! That's a bad thing! We're probably gonna kill them so get ready!"

Out on the high seas, flying without a flag meant 2 things. 1% of the time it meant you were a merchant ship in for some heavy, heavy fines. The other 99%? Pirates.

"Unlikely, perhaps you should ask the local orphanage to be your patrons." He hummed in response.

But now, his focus was fully on task. Not because he was a particularly mission and task oriented boy, but because he absolutely loved to cut people in half and kill them. Something about it made him really giddy so the idea that a pirate ship was coming upon them, was really exciting in more ways than one. Definitely a strange thing for a genin of his stature to like, but this was simply a byproduct of his childhood.

He would unsheathe his katana, it was a standard katana - nothing special - but it could do all that he really needed it to do.

The ship got closer and closer and soon they were calling for it to halt when it did not, that was when they were given free reign to attack to stop it at all costs.

Without much thought, Enyo would take a running start and leap off one end of the ship, clearing a decent amount of space before landing on the side of the other ship, his feet glowing with chakra as he started to make his way up horizontally, really truly grinning.

Kamui tilted his head as he and Enyo continued their back and forth banter, unsure of what the genin meant by asking the orphanage to be his patron. It certainly didn't sound like a compliment, but there were far more pressing matters to deal with now.

As expected, as the Suiryu Ryodan ship drew closer and called for the flagless vessel to stop, the unknown entity didn't comply, instead raising its sails and attempting to get away. That was when the captain gave the order to stop the ship at all costs, which essentially translated to 'kill them all.' Kamui remained in his comfortable crow's nest as their ship continued to close the distance, watching in amusement as Enyo leapt from the deck and clung to the side of the pirate ship with chakra alone.

The pirates were already ready for the boarding and attack, however, and whoops and hollering could be heard as they finally raised their actual jolly roger, understanding that their cover was properly blown. On the side where Enyo had begun his ascent, two brigands were waiting for the genin to pop up over the ledge, weapons at the ready to strike. Kamui calmly drew and fired two arrows in quick succession, their unmoving bodies more than easy enough for the experienced archer to hit. Sharp flint pierced their chests as arrows sprouted from them, each letting out a single gasp before falling to the deck dead.

"I've got your baaaaaack! Will you be my patron now?!"

Kamui called out over the rising noise of battle, more than happy to continue his banter while he stood safely at his perch.

Enyo did not anticipate - in mostly his inexperience - that there would be two waiting there at his ascent. But, he did have his sword drawn and he did see their outlines at the last minute as he would leap into the air only for both to drop dead onto the deck of their own ship. He looked up towards the crow's nest to see Kamui there. He was talking, but he couldn't really hear him or see his lips moving properly it was just a bit of a blur. But, he knew that he had saved his skin at least and Enyo would spin around like a top to face the rest of the ship which quickly encroached upon him.

His sword drawn he fell straight into battle, his swordsmanship was not bad, it could use a little work though. Still, he did manage to down a few individuals with his katana. Not without taking a few hits, but if anything to Enyo, being hit was more of an advantage to the boy manipulating his blood that was drawn into the air, spinning deftly as he got surrounded to throw it around in a spray to get into his aggressors eyes to obscure their vision with black blood.

Giving a nice little opening for whoever wanted to take them on - and a nice opening for Enyo who took advantage of the moment by cutting into one of the pirates necks.

NAME: Sōsa shimas [Manipulate]
RANK: D
CHAKRA USAGE: Very Low to High
CLASSIFICATION: Kekkei Genkai.
ELEMENT: N/A
DESCRIPTION:
After blood has been drawn from the user, the clan member can then direct their blood into a specific form. This holds a variety of uses and it's ability to be manipulated to the user's will makes it extremely versatile. The size of said manipulation is dependent on how much blood and chakra wants to utilize, though the desired shape can get no larger than an average adult male. Due to it's low rank, the shapes that are made are not resilient. They can be broken with any jutsu that makes some sort of physical contact with it, as well as normal punches or kicks. The fragility of it makes it so that when 'broken' it reverts back into a liquefied blood state. Though the user still has control over their own blood and could very well remanipulate to suit their needs.

The amount of skill a user has with the jutsu will determine how much detail the user is able to have with their construct. A simple kunai would be a very low amount of blood and chakra used, a simple shape the size of a man would be about medium. A shape that is intricate and detailed as well as taking up the size of an average man would be considered high in the amount of chakra utilized.

Upon seeing their comrades downed by arrows, there were a few pirates that decided to take various forms of cover. A few threw themselves behind barrels and poles that obstructed Kamui's line of site, with others actually having wooden shields on hand to protect them from projectiles.

Unfortunately for them, simply hiding from Kamui's arrows wouldn't be enough to keep them safe, with Enyo throwing himself into the midst of battle with his sword. With more people aware of his presence, the archer assisted as best as he could, not quite striking down anyone but more than keeping them distracted as the two ships were fully side-by-side, more Kirigakure shinobi managing to hop on over to the pirate ship and take advantage of the Kuronmeru's blinding technique.

It looked as if though the Suiryu Ryodan would be able to handle this mission without a hitch until new contender entered the mist. Bursting forth from his own captain's lodge, the leader of the pirates entered the fray, a huge burly man with a full beard wielding two scimitars. He had a crazed, furious look in his eye as he saw his men losing the battle, and with a rage-filled warcry he became a whirlwind of blades. Kamui spotted this with his sharp vision and fired off a quick pair of arrows at the pirate captain, finding himself both shocked and incredibly excited when the projectiles were deflected with utmost ease.

"Looks like the pirate captain's trouble!"

Once more Kamui called over the din of battle, fully unaware if those below could hear him.

Enyo was hardly the highlight of the battle, the rest of the shinobi on the ship were quite capable as well. But that didn't mean that he wasn't spotted due to his short stature and his rather irritating technique in which he sprayed blood everywhere blinding many in the pirate crew opening them up for being killed. Which was why he was now coming up against the pirate captain. That he only narrowly avoided getting cleaved by, though it did rip into his sleeve.

"Hey!" Enyo protested towards the larger burlier man. Clearly offended by the fact that he could even think he was allowed to try and do such a thing. How dare he think it was alright to cut into his very expensive outfit? His inner cheek was chewed on as he would leap into the air then to try and get an overhead advantage over the man. It was a bit of a strange move considering that he was literally catapulting himself face forward towards the captain without any regard for his own safety. But in truth he was just trying to open up the captain's back side to Kamui's arrows. Which, hopefully Kamui would see the opening was very much there.

The battle continued on with the Kiri shinobi very slowly taking the upper hand. Both sides were still mostly even, but even with the pirates' greater numbers and raw strength the Suiryu Ryodan had the advantage of proper training and jutsu on their side. The pirate captain himself embodied this difference more than anybody else, his scimitar swinging in deadly arcs around himself as he deflected more of Kamui's arrows while narrowly missing Enyo himself but definitely cleaving into the genin's outfit.

The pirate captain heartily guffawed as Enyo leaped up in the air to attack, knowing full well what the genin was attempting. He raised one of his own scimitar to defend himself from the swordsman, not fully turning his back towards Kamui to use his other scimitar to continue defending himself from the other side as well. It was enough of a distraction, however. Kamui fired off another trio of arrows at his target, grunting in frustration as the first of which was knocked away by the ever-moving scimitar. His second and third arrows did manage to impale themselves into the captain, just not really in critical locations. They thudded into his tough, scarred, muscle mass, sticking out from his still very functional arm, though it was still plenty painful.

"FIGHT HARDER YOU IDIOTS!! WE'RE ONE FIGHT AWAY FROM FREEDOM AND RICHES LADS!"

The captain called out to his crew, a chorus of screams and yells returning as they dipped into whatever stamina reserves they had to surge forward for one last attempt to turn the tides back in their favor.

Enyo would lock himself sword to sword with the captain, who was easily pushing back against him but with Enyo's stance - once he landed on the ground - well it was a lot easier to maintain his position so his entire body was being moved back instead of his being parried in such a way that it would leave him open to potentially get skewered. But he only needed a moment, what he really needed was the captain to be distracted and between his battle cries and the arrows thudding into his flesh from Kamui's vantage point it was enough.

Enyo cultivated blood and chakra within his mouth, focusing before he would very suddenly spit blood right into the captain's eyes, hopefully making it since they were so well locked in place. This would make it impossible or rather very difficult for the captain to see at all opening him up to more arrows and also just the fact that he wouldn't be able to know where to swing exactly to defend himself. Giving Enyo a little opening then to step forward and attempt to cut through the man's neck hopefully no other pirates would be trying to interrupt his battle with this largest and most trained individual.

For just one moment it did seem as if though the pirates might be able to prevail. The captain's presence and charisma were certainly inspiring, but the moment of uncertainty quickly passed. Enyo's block blood was flung right into the pirate captain's eyes, causing yet another yell to erupt from his mouth, this time in frustration and anger. It was more than enough of a distraction for Kamui to pepper the man with more arrows, shafts of wood sprouting out from the captain's back. The arrows weren't enough to kill the hulking beast of a man, but Enyo's swift cut to the neck certainly was. There was one final angry gurgle before his form hit the deck with an audible thud.

The effects of the captain's death weren't immediate, but still very close. Not all eyes had been focused on the captain's fight, but there had been enough peripheral attention to cause the rest of the pirates to significantly lose morale. Most of them were cut down, but some were lucky enough to throw down their weapons quickly enough to instead be arrested. The Kirigakure sailors quickly set themselves to arresting whoever was willing to surrender with others beginning the process of searching the ship. Kamui himself was one of those concerned with searching, hastily making his way over to the enemy ship and clapping Enyo heartily on the back.

"Whoa! You're pretty good with that little pointy stick of yours. Almost as good as my art."

Enyo was pleasantly surprised by the results, he had thought that things would turn out not so well. But, sometimes little intentional things turned out rather well. He smirked, smugly to himself as he wiped the blade of his sword off on the captain's shirt getting rid of the blood before he sheathed it. Just in time for Kamui to show up to pat him heartily on the back making Enyo lose his footing and stumble forward.

"Keep your gorilla hands off of me," He huffed trying to adjust himself. Truly, what purpose did Kamui have shoving him around like that? Was this some form of barbaric camaraderie? Well, Enyo did not want any part of it so he started to make his way over to their ship, back to their ship that is so that he could wait for either another pirate ship or to finally get to go home. He wasn't a huge fan of the sea, it was very boring.

"And your art is still shit, don't quit your day job." He insulted, he wasn't particularly one to conceal his feelings on certain topics it seemed as he went to go back to leaning up against the same bow side he had been leaning up against before all of the action had begun.
