Miori awaited her... Associate? Teacher?... Zakku knew her. Miori had been having a hard time finding someone to train with in Sunagakure, as her old reputation made most... understandably concerned about dealing with her version of training. But she needed to better her skills, and she was... inexperienced in this particular method of combat. Thankfully, Ayukawa was one of the most skilled practitioners in all of Sunagakure, so Miori couldn't ask for a better teacher. Hopefully she could get training in how exactly taijutsu combat was supposed to work.[break][break]

Looking around the area, Miori always thought of how barren the Sunagakure training grounds were. A barely defined area with a ton of rocks for target practice, only notable for it's slightly red sand. From what she had seen of other training areas during chuunin exams, most villages made them more vibrant. Although that was a bit of the charm of Sunagakure- rarely was more than what was efficient given. If it wasn't worth the investment, it wasn't done. The outskirts were proof of that.[break][break]

Shaking her head, Miori would focus on her surroundings as she waited for Ayukawa, actually sporting a more normal outfit by her standards. Covered in a large shirt and pants, and with no webs hanging off her body, Miori had actually dressed for the occasion of sparring in a desert. It was nice meeting someone who didn't know her; she didn't have to keep up her old reputation.

One Arm vs Six ""Wait! I'm here!!" Darting through the area, the young female would calm to a sudden halt before the short haired female, her expression almost out of breath as she began to lean forward in an effort to catch it. It hadn't been that she was struggling to do so, but rather the sudden remembrance of her assignment had come upon her while she was on the other side of the village. It was rare for her to be on this side after what she had been through before. In fact, after Asahi-kun had spoken with her to Lady Kasume, her residence was placed in a more reserved location. Still, it made the trip to meet her sparring partner all the more tricky. "Whew! Sorry...I didn't mean to keep you waiting! I'm Ayukawa! Hi!" Holding up her hand, the girl would place it back upon her lap, her puppet arm resting behind her as she stood before her. The woman was quite a bit older than her, but she seemed to have requested someone who was skilled in Taijutsu, which seemed to put Ayukawa on deck to help. Which wasn't an issue in the least. At the moment, she was trying her best to reclaim some semblance of trust after everything that had happened, and helping others was never a bad way to start. Plus, she needed the training as well. "Nice to meet you!" Smiling brightly, the purple eyed female would then relax a bit as she tilted her head to the side. "When I was told that someone needed help with Taijutsu, they asked me right away. Not sure why when its not really that special. Not saying that it isn't important, but there aren't a lot of people that use it. Well..there are people that use it, some just not so much! I know Zakku uses it, but he also uses stakes...and then theres Asahi-kun...he does it too but with fire...really...hot fire...he touched me once and it made my skin turn all wrinkly and weird...." Shivering at the reminder, the dark haired female would close her eyes before then preparing to say something else, but stopping short as she realized that she was talking too much. "Sorry! I'm probably talking too much! Everyone says I do..."

Miori would stare as she was given the pleasure of meeting Ayukawa for the first time. Was this what it was like to deal with her younger self? Well at least she wasn't alone in that particular behavior. There was a small comfort in that, and small comforts were overlooked way too often. Don't get a lot of those in the outskirts. Miori's eyes would then glance to Ayukawa's prosthetic arm, curious on if Ayukawa was also a puppeteer. "Don't apologize. Trust me, tooootally get the overtalking thing. Used to do it a lot when I was younger. Feels like your going in a high speed spiral sometimes doesn't it?" Miori would comment, swaying a bit in place. "I'm Miori by the way. Also I really wouldn't call Zakku of all people a taijutsu specialist."

Miori had hoped that her information on Zakku wasn't so out of date that she wasn't aware of him increasing his taijutsu talent. "Still, I gotta admit my actual skill in taijutsu isn't the best yet. I need to get that fixed." Miori stated as she tired her bet to distract herself from the idea that the others were moving on without her. "I think if I get an idea for how taijutsu actually works I can make better puppets you know?" Hopefully Ayukawa would buy the excuse.

Ayu would giggle lightly at the comment of Zakku-kun not exactly being a specialist at Taijutsu, which in a way was true. But then, he was good at other things too. Everyone was. Though it appeared that Miori was looking to improve on her own and she had requested Ayukawa for just that. Considering that this was for the girl to also make puppets, Ayukawa would blink before holding her hands close to her chest with excitement in her eyes. "You're a puppet user! Thats so cool! Oh! I always wanted to ask! How do you make the puppets come to life!? Can they actually talk in their own wooden language!? What kinda materials are they made of!? Oh oh! Is it true that some can carry the souls of the dead too!?" Bouncing slightly, the teen would eagerly await her response, staring at her as she held her breath.

Miori had a strange mix of understanding and mild discomfort with Ayukawa. On one hand, she remembered when she did this too. Hell as far as everyone but her knew, she still did this. On the other, she used to do this! No wonder so many people got annoyed with her. That wasn't even part of the plan to annoy the people she didn't like- that was just her. How did she have friends?

Or at least that was the plan before Miori go thrown off even her own game by nonsensical questions. Make puppets come to life, Wha- since when had she convinced people she could do that? Not that it wasn't absolutely a rumor she would start, but Miori was fairly certain she hadn't begun convincing people she was some sort of villainous necromancer. Bring puppets to- oh... oh Ayukawa meant how did they animate them. Miori would let herself relax as she tried to think of how to explain this without over complicating things. "They don't talk, they're inanimate. Like... toys, but with weapons in 'em. We move them with strings, and materials depends entirely on who makes them."

As far as that last one, that was technically a secret technique that Miori didn't have access too, but Miori never cared about keeping the secrets of people who wouldn't share with her. "As far as the dead thing, some can, but the clan who knows how to do that won't tell anyone."

One Arm vs Six "Oooohh" Ayukawa would nod as she took in the words of the woman before her, blinking for a moment as she did her best to take it all in. Puppets used by shinobi weren't spirits, but just objects. Though some could very well make them out of dead people. They were able to move because of strings and much of what they could do was depending on who exactly made them...that checked out. Lastly, people who seemed to think that what she did was a sign of stupidity were just projecting what they were themselves and to just...fuck em? The last part was a bit confusing, but she honestly wasn't sure if she could actually perform that last part. Not to mention that would be wrong. Still, that wasn't the reason she was here was it? Shaking her head, the young female would then relax a bit as she realized that she was probably being a distraction for what Miori had come here to do, leading to her release a slow breath as she refocused her attention on the task at hand. It seemed Miori had confused the girl at some point, but at this point the young woman felt she had rambled enough. Miori could feel herself beginning to slip into old habits. This was her chance to not have to rely on her old reputation and actually have a new person who only knew her as what she was now. Not matter how nice or natural it felt to be that excitable kid, Miori didn't want to go back to it. That side of her was- well it was best not to think about it, for her own sake.

In truth Miori wasn't sure what her next step in Taijutsu should be. She knew she needed to build her strength and fitness, but each time she grew bored when she realized she could just use her webs to solve the problem. So perhaps it was time to try sparing to improve reflexes? Then again having something to start from could help. She could work on that later. "We can figure out styles later. For now I wanna see if I can get used to moving in an actual fight. Still constructs don't work, and I don't think I'm skilled enough to be fighting puppets yet." That could be a fun exercise later. Fight against a thing with hidden functions using only your body. Miori hope she'd remember to actually put that to practice.

One Arm vs Six "Right right! Gotcha!" With a grin and a nod, Ayukawa would then begin to prepare herself, leaning down as she stretched a bit before then bouncing up and down as she rotated her arms in a swinging motion. While she had more than come into her own when using Taijutsu as her specialty, it did little to help deal with the extra weight that came with her replacement limb. Of course, it was a part of her now, but it did limit her in some places. But, it also gave her a bit of an advantage when it came to the impact of her strikes. Not to mention it did wonders for her defense. Though that was not what was needed this time. Soon enough, the young girl would stop moving as she presented the Seal of confrontation, pulling back as she waited until the older female was ready. "Okay! Lets go!" Dashing forward, she'd launch into her attack, drawing her leg upward as she'd swing the limb from the side, twisting her form before then lowering herself to the ground as a means to go for her legs to trip her up a bit. While this was a less than formal match up, if Miori did want to see how she stacked up in terms of close quarters combat, this was the best way to do it. Simply by trying a variation of different techniques and giving her moments to react relied on her trying to evade as best as she was able.

Oh right. Stretching. It's amazing how easy it is to forget the most basic things. Well at least Ayukawa had figured out not to immediately attack when training. Perhaps she wasn't as close to Miori's old self. Miori's stretches were a bit more exaggerated than most- side effect of having 11.4% more body mass than she would if she was normal. As she finished and looked over her opponent, Miori would only now notice the artificial limb her sparring partner had. Her instinct was to voice the thought in her head 'how did that happen', but Miori decided that since Ayukawa didn't know her youngerself, she could at least try to act her age. Honestly with half her time being a caricature of her old self and other half spent isolated or fighting- it felt weird to be 'herself'.

Well, there went a normal spar. Probably for the best now that I think about it. Miori would glance at her partner's hand, using her middle left hand to return the seal. She was never sure which hand she should use when they did that. Dropping low, Miori would take a defensive stance as she prepared to deal with the incoming attacks. She had- up until this point- solved the issue of defending herself with a reckless tactic known simply as; 'be the first to attack. After that, keep attacking.' With her recent escapades, the black haired lady finally realized the only people you could beat with that were people you were beating already.

Of course, Miori had somehow completely forgot that people could use their legs in brawls. Panicking to block what she was sure was a kick, Miori's upper hands crossed across her chest- completely missing the actual goal Ayukawa had. As her legs were pushed out under her, Miori would roll with the blow, using her chakra strings to pull the back of her legs over her own head and land back on her feet behind Ayukawa. Quickly turning, Miori would place her hands open around her this time. Hopefully she could catch and deflect something next time.

One Arm vs Six "Woah...okay then!" Spar On Either Miori was quite limber, or there was something else at play here that she couldn't see. With her having managed to almost instantly rise back to her feet and gain a sense of unsteady balance, her body had flipped itself upward and attempted to come around to Ayukawa's rear. With the reach of the woman's arm coming around her, the young girl would lower herself to the ground, attempting to sweep her leg beneath the woman to drive her back, this would then twist into a handstand as her body began to spin with a barrage of kicks before she returned to a upright position, her body slouched and waving from one side to the next. As though she might be in a confused state, the young woman would wave her hands from one side to the next, lurching forward with a single backhand strike, before switching shoulders mid-turn as a flurry of jabs came forward upon her target. "*Hic* okay....keep tryin to evade me..." Though far from being drunk, the style she was using certainly was a reference to being in such a state. Though while mildly disorienting, it did provide for a means of surprising a target if they weren't careful. Not to mention, while a normal strike would certainly prove hurtful, the arm in which she was using didn't exactly possess flesh and bone.

The user will slouch their body a bit while dangling their arms and begin to stumble and wobble in random directions. Whether the opponent is deceived by the apparent weakness/drunkenness of the user, once an 'opening' is seen the user will rotate their upper body and strike with a back fist towards the opponent, however that attack is only bait as a second fist with the full force of of the rotation will be following, allowing for a sudden second attack. What's brilliant about this move is that after the second move, the user can still use their rotation to alternate their body's angle by bending at the knees or the waist and continue to attack repeatedly from different angles until stopped by the opponent or themselves.

Miori was certain she had come up with a very clever solution to the fact that this girl clearly outmatched her- using her chakra strings to puppeteer herself into an advantageous position before grabbing her foe. Even the greatest of Taijutsu users ceased to function once in a grapple position, not too dissimilar from what happened with puppeteers when they engaged in close range combat. Of course, Miori was the inexperienced of the two here, and thus her form was lacking and her technique sloppy. Street brawls were fine against people used to fighting on that level, but a master who did not lack motivation could school her at any time. The first counter came in the form of a sweep, sending Miori stumbling clumsily away to try and regain her balance. Soon after, the girl continued her assault with a relentless barrage of kicks- somehow walking on her hands in the sand! It was at this point Miori became aware of how outmatched she really was. But that was good, Miori was used to learning by being woefully outmatched.

The next few moments however took her from a feeling of being the weaker link and straight into confusion. Just as Miori regained her footing, Ayukawa's stance changed to something that was familiar to her. Was Ayukawa drunk? She showed up to this after consuming alcohol- and was beating her while wasted? The back handed blow switching into a flurry showed that this wasn't impeding her enough to remove her advantage completely. Miori thankfully had experience deflecting blows- able to half grab half push the back handed blow away, but the sudden switch from a wide obvious attack into a slurry of much quicker blows easily broke Miori's guard. The extra hands weren't doing her much good in this case- it took three of them to deflect the first blow, and now all she could really do was focus the attacks to the edges of her frame. Miori's footing though more stable was being overwhelmed as well, being forced to give more ground as Ayukawa closed in. In a the desert, the loss of ground wasn't as big a deal- but there was a chance she could find someone like this in an enclosed area- in which loss of ground could mean walking into hazards or getting cornered. Still, it wasn't like Miori had much to counter with.

One Arm vs Six "Heh heh...Can't keep blocking foreverrrr..." Just like Fire "Either push through it or use an opening to strike back..." While she may have had the upper hand, Ayukawa had enough experience at this point to know that this could easily change. After all, she was trying to get through a pretty decent defense that was provided by the multiple arms that were mounted upon the woman. Of course, the weakness that she noticed was that she was giving up a lot of ground just to keep up, leading the tan-skinned female to reel back as she shifted her posture once more, allowing her movements to become much more stable as the female would note the movement of the sand beneath her feet, holding a grin on her face before she launched herself inward. Though appearing as if she might strike, she'd shift her footing and slide along the surface of the ground, sweeping her leg as to trip the woman up and complete her loss of ground. If managing to catch her off-guard, Ayukawa would push herself upward, her body moving into the air as she aimed her heel downward toward Miori's body, attempting to strike her against the shoulder.

The advisement on how to deal with the relentless onslaught was not useful to Miori, at least not in the current scenario. Miori wasn't sure if the girl had been pre-gaming, or if she had some strange technique to suddenly become drunk, but either way the flow and direction of her attacks were exceedingly difficult to predict. Miori had to admit the style had it's obvious benefits, forcing the tanned woman on the back foot. Her current defense was reactionary out of sheer necessity, with even the most recent feint causing Miori to slip in the loose sand as her sparring partner prepared a follow up attack.

Moving solely on impulse, the black haired shinobi would use her six arms to stabilize herself, the top arms supporting her weight as the second pushed off the sand. As her legs were raised towards her partner, Miori's third set of arms twisting themselves to add further momentum to the twisting upwards kick she'd launch towards her opponent in an attempt to knock the other girl away. As long as the attack successfully thwarted the shoulder aimed kick of Ayukawa, Miori would allow herself to fall slightly, rolling in the ground as she recovered from her prone position. Well... if reactionary wasn't working- maybe it was time to try being active. With that thought, Miori would quickly dash towards her opponent, seeking to grab her opponent with at least two of her hands, placing sticky webs on Ayukawa one one hand, distracting from the thin chakra strings she'd place with her other hand.

One Arm vs Six Mortify While it was unclear if Miori had taken her advice or not, it seemed like she was starting to get in on the action at this point. With her thwarting her attempt to knock her onto the ground, the kick against Ayu had been enough to push her back, causing her to land backward before flipping herself away a short distance. Yet, it appeared that the girl was not going to give her long to breathe, rushing in to try and grab her. Though getting in close was a bit odd considering how she had done last time, the young shinobi wasn't one to question an opportunity. As the distance between them closed, the dark-skinned female would twist herself sideways, flipping upward as she balanced herself on hand upon the woman's outstretched limb. Grinning down toward her, she'd quickly smack her atop her head before bouncing off behind her to avoid the rest of the attack. Though in this position, she'd shift her stance again, twisting her body around as her hands moved forward in open-palm strikes against the woman's back. While they weren't at full strength, they'd be enough to keep her off-balance for a moment as she delivered the flurry of blows against her. "You shouldn't rush in like that unless you know how to be ready for what comes next..." A fair warning, but it likely was only going to get a more defensive response. So far, Miori had been using her puppet-like limbs for most of the work in keeping up. It was an advantage, but she had a lot more tools than she knew. If she could incorporate both, she'd be able to put up a better effort. Perhaps the point of teaching was to have the individual figure that out for themselves.

This stance is the foundation of Wing Chun and is ingrained into the practitioner's body. In order to truly master the martial art, they must root themselves into this stance and maintain it with accompanying footwork. Rhythm, pacing, and tempo are important and vital elements to Wing Chun. An attack is never singular, always part of a chain and sequence of movements incorporating both attack and defense. In order to manage these sequences, Wing Chun practitioners fight according to a beat, thereby pulling enemies into their pace while preventing them from getting accustomed to it by changing and fluctuating the tempo. Wing Chun beats tend to follow three main beats [1,2], [1,2,3], and [1,2,3,4]. These beats can be sequenced in any order to create a flurry of consecutive unending strikes. It is almost impossible to interrupt the flow of Wing Chun practitioner as the art is made to be both active and reactive simultaneously.

Wing Chun is not a strength driven Martial Art, though that is not to say it can't be used by one with strength. It is just not the central or focusing point of the art. Rather, it focuses on instantaneous and rapid acceleration, which ends up achieving the same results. Practitioners are taught to relax their body and keep their limbs at rest so that they can, at any moment, accelerate.

This allows them to deliver remarkably strong blows without wasting unnecessary stamina on maintaining high speeds or utilizing a lot of power. In many ways, Wing Chun is the difference between a sniper and a bazooka. While a Bazooka might have more firepower, a sniper is trained and focused on each shot.

To visualize this, Wing Chun is capable of punching straight through a boulder leaving only an arm/fist sized hole rather than causing the entire boulder to be destroyed. The focused aspect of the art allows them to be more precise in their blows. Higher leveled practitioners can coat their hands and fists in chakra to avoid damaging them and increase their durability.

Hunter instincts and experience on the hunt have granted Ayukawa insight into the minds of the prey she encounters. Animalistic encounters have allowed her to track and be capable of following those that she intends to target, at times giving her brief, but small insight into their intentions. While not fully developed, they have improved over her continued use and natural development, allowing her instincts to be heighten to a point where she isn't caught off-guard when activated or in an intense moment that requires a reaction. It also allows for her to at times get inside of the heads of her target, mostly due to their movements and their patterns once discovered. It is a skill that is constantly growing, though has yet to reach it's full potential.

In the Jungle
To survive in the desert, one must be able to keep up with not just the prey, but also to outrun the wild predators as well. Ayukawa training and life in the wilderness and vast landscape has prepared her for such events. Her genetics in relation to the Saeko Clan have given her an edge in physical combat, along with making her much more agile. Living out in the desert has also made her incredibly durable due to the intense environment surrounding her, along with possessing a high amount of physical stamina.

Seemed trickery wasn't going to be winning this fight in any meaningful way. Her attacks were being forced to the superior combatant's sides with relative ease, much to Miori's chagrin. Miori would soon find herself yet again on the back foot, as her sparring partner quickly moved behind her, constant blows pushing her away as the dark skinned woman struggled to keep her footing. The young kunoichi was certain her use of her natural webbing would have been the leg up she was looking for. Now she was certain the cap in the two shinobi's skills would prevent her from ever getting to actually use that strength to it's fullest. It was so tempting to begin using her talents for puppetry in order to finally land some sort of meaningful blow.

Miori was more than aware that this point of this exercise was to improve her body, yet she also hated the idea of just beating her head against a wall until one of them broke. So perhaps there was a way to let her talents barely interact, giving the tanned woman some sort of edge in this fight. Suddenly an idea quite literally sprung to mind, the young girl allowing small controlled pieces of chakra to fill her limbs as she took a more defensive stance yet again. Once Ayukawa began to commit to a blow, Miori would release wild strings of elemental infused webbing- working like razor wire to lash out around the more experienced shinobi as lashing attacks. Hopefully, the attack would throw the other kunoichi off long enough for Miori to get in with her extra arms, wrapping around Ayukawa's arms, legs, and torso to hold her in place.

[break][break] A supplementary technique used to allow Mayonaka to manipulate their techniques, it is one of the more important core ninjutsu learned by Mayonaka descendants. Its users are capable of using their chakra to manipulate the strings they emit. Additionally, it can be used to use a strand or more as appendages to, say, silently lift the key to a cell, if someone is dumb enough to restrain a Mayonaka in a cell but not seal their chakra. This is more dangerous than similar techniques, and, like other jutsu, can be dangerous to a person in just the right circumstances or when combined with a technique. With this technique, people can use their silken threads as puppetry strings, for jutsu that require razor wire, and more.

Similarly to the other Silken Advantage technique in this app, Elemental Augment allows one to channel one’s chakra nature into a technique to amplify its power exponentially. For Fuuton, cutting power is generated. For Raiton, one’s techniques will vibrate and pierce. For Katon, the thread will grow hot enough to cut. For Suiton, all techniques have extra stickiness and are capable of slipping through flames and such that they normally couldn’t. For Doton, the techniques grow sturdier. However, this is simply to augment non-elemental techniques, and techniques will likely not have the power of jutsu that have been created specifically to work with an element.
