[Takehara Momo]

Momo was fairly well studied into the medical field. Her knowledge wasn't immense or very impressive, but it was decent and more than most. She however struggled as a medical shinobi in one major aspect. She simply hadn't mastered the chakra control of her peers, it was through this control most performed complex procedures.

Chakra could be used almost like a blade, but then also like that of a thread. It could act as an ointment and a stimulant, it could assault a foreign entity and do all this without actually piercing the skin. Without this control, she'd instead work with all the tools themselves. Her treatments applied needed to be done quickly and with heightened concern for sanitization.

She made due as anyone with her responsibilities would, but she felt there'd be a level of scrutiny on her if she didn't learn. As a Takehara she was expected to be smart and quick to learn. Truth was those things didn't really apply to her, she had to work harder than all her cousins it felt. Maybe they hid their struggles better.

In order to aid her goals of ranking up and get closer to better controlling her chakra. Momo would have signed up to tutor one of Amegakure's academy students in chakra control. It perhaps was an effort of the blind leading the blind, but even if Uka would likely beat the goat in control mastery, the chuunin had knowledge. Her experiences failing lead to it's own tips and tricks, but most of all this would be a good testing ground for her own restrain too.

The academy would be the location in which the blue haired kunoichi waited her temporary student. The classrooms were empty in the building, as it wasn't a normal day for school. This was a private lesson and the school was merely lending it's space to be used for this tutoring session. She didn't change much up in the room, but she'd have her name written on the board. An attempt to make their introduction perhaps easier. Momo wasn't always the best when it came to social confrontation after all.

As Uka emerged from her home, her vibrant and mischievous nature seemed to infuse the entire neighborhood with an undeniable brightness. On her journey to the academy, she couldn't resist pausing to lend a helping hand to an elderly lady, cheerfully assisting her in carrying her groceries. Her innate kindness and compassion shone through effortlessly. With each step she took, her excitement for the upcoming session with the private tutor arranged by the academy intensified, knowing it would be a chance to push her limits and further develop her abilities. Throughout the day, her energy not only endured but flourished, radiating an even stronger presence.

As the doors of the empty academy classroom creaked open Uka entered with unwavering confidence. Her lively eyes scanned the room until they landed on the name "Momo" written on the board, confirming she had found the right place. An infectious grin spread across her face, revealing her eagerness to begin.

"Hello, Momo-sensei!" Uka greeted her tutor with unabashed cheerfulness, unafraid to approach her directly. "I heard you're going to help me with chakra control. Well, get ready because I'm bursting with energy, just like a phoenix!"

Among her peers, Uka was known for her boundless enthusiasm and daring nature, but mastering chakra control had proven to be a challenge for her during academy lessons. She preferred to rely on her instincts, often leading to a lack of finesse and more chaos in her chakra usage. Nevertheless, the opportunity to learn from someone like Momo intrigued her.

With her characteristic grin still intact, Uka settled into a chair, eagerly awaiting Momo's instructions. Beneath her carefree demeanor, a glint of determination shone in her eyes. While she may not be a chakra control expert, she was here to learn and ready to put in the effort to improve.

[Takehara Momo]

Teaching academy students wasn't something new to Momo. This had become a slightly regular task of the chuunin, it was good practice for potentially having her own genin. There was also that chance she'd have these students as her genin down the line, it was impossible to know for sure, but it was exciting to have such a positive introduction with relative strangers.

Unlike most strangers academy students and some early genin, they still had the innocence of youth. A sense of positivity and carefreeness that she longed for herself. They also seemed to so far be rather excepting of the odd chuunin, but maybe in youth they didn't have the knowledge yet to question certain things. Perhaps her horns were easily dismissed as some form of headdress and what held it was hidden under her blue hair.

Uka arrived thanks to her kind deed a slight bit later than the pitched start time, but it was nothing offensive to the local goat. However in the momentary wait Momo had slightly zoned out due to her medicine, she'd see the academy student enter all excited, but it wasn't until they said hello that Momo realized they were her student for today. "Oh-hi, Yugao-san!" She didn't have the same energy as the student, but her happiness did bring even sad goat to a smile. Pepping up at least two notches from her normal self.

"A-Awesome!" She'd struggle to reply, as the little girls introduction rather surprised the chuunin. Wasn't it the students job to get ready? What was a pheonix? Things she hadn't expected, but as best she could rationalize; The kid was just bumped up. A good thing for a student. "Chakra control is a key aspect in many shinobi fields. I've got a few lessons to help you master it, but first I will need to know if you've done the paper test yet?" Momo would ask as she'd retrieve a small slip of special paper from a stack she'd brought. It was used to help determine a shinobi's natural element, as to help lead them into their first affinity. Elemental ninjutsu wasn't a necessity of the academy, so it'd not shock Momo if they'd never seen it or taken the test.

Anything to do with chakra sounds like an adventure waiting to happen."

"Yup, the paper test will allow us to determine your natural element." Momo would explain in response to the inquiry of the paper test. The excitement to do anything chakra related was certainly adorable, as well as admirable in this lesson. It was also nice to hear they hadn't taken the test, as it'd meant getting this resource ready wouldn't be a waste of her time either.

"So the way this test works, is you'll take this paper at the bottom here." She'd pick up the paper at a specific point, where it was a slightly lighter color. "Then we'll channel our chakra into it, which will cause the top to change states mirroring your natural element. As the top is made from a wood which is naturally conductive to shinobi's chakra." Momo would explain the way the test worked, as well as push her chakra into the piece she picked up.

Her demonstration would cause the piece of papers top to flutter with wind, but as Momo stopped channeling chakra the paper would return to it's natural state. "Hopefully it isn't katon, as that'll burn the paper, but it's good you brought it up. So you can be prepared in case it is." Momo would explain with a bit of concern and hesitation in her voice. It was such a foreboding announcement to make, but perhaps that why arsonist weren't found earlier on. Easily hidden with their bright demeanors.

Uka's eyes widened with anticipation as Momo explained the paper test and demonstrated how it worked. The sight of the paper fluttering with wind in response to Momo's chakra manipulation was captivating, and Uka couldn't help but imagine the possibilities of what her own chakra might reveal. The mention of the paper potentially burning if her element turned out to be katon did give her a momentary pause, but her adventurous spirit quickly overtook any apprehension.

A mischievous grin played on Uka's lips as she picked up the paper, her fingers tingling with excitement. With a deep breath to steady herself, she closed her eyes momentarily, focusing on her chakra flow. In her mind, she visualized flames dancing and flickering, their warmth enveloping her. As she channeled her chakra into the paper, a surge of energy pulsed through her, and she could almost feel the heat radiating from her very being.

When she opened her eyes, her heart skipped a beat. The paper was indeed transforming, but not into wind or any other element she had imagined. Instead, tiny flames began to emerge along the edges of the paper, their golden-red hues dancing gracefully. Uka's excitement bubbled over, and she couldn't contain her joy. "Momo-sensei, look! It's katon!" She exclaimed, her voice a mix of awe and exhilaration.

Her eyes sparkled with a newfound determination as she gazed at the flickering flames. Uka's enthusiasm remained undaunted, and she was more than ready to dive headfirst into mastering her newfound chakra element.

[Takehara Momo]

Momo couldn't exactly share the same level of excitement as her student. She'd smile at their joy, but it was a bit of a nervous smile. Especially as the paper continued to burn, but the academy student didn't seem to react. A pyromaniac, but as a shinobi that could work. For the child's safety though, Momo would reach out and clench her hand around the fire.

Snuffing it out in one quickish move, she didn't recoil from the heat or flame. She'd channeled a small amount of chakra to her hand, her skin blackening under the black thin glove she wore. It'd do little, but be more than enough to completely dull the pain and damage factor of the small flame.

"Of course, that's the point of this session. Katon, is as I stated a bit dangerous, but it's easier to work with than lightning. So we've got that going for us." Momo would after stating that go over to a bag she'd brought to the room prior. Within it she'd retrieve a plate and six candles, she'd place the candles in a star formation with the extra one in the center. Retrieving a matchbox too, she'd ignite a match then light the center candle, before blowing out the match.

"As fire is your natural element, you should have a certain innate affiliation to it. In other words with a bit of chakra channeling you should be able to command this fire." She'd state pointing to the center candle, then redirect her finger to point out the surrounding candles. "Doing so your goal for today will be to get it to jump to the other candles. Without any katon mastery, this'll be hard and a bit draining. However with my wind nature, I can help feed the flame for this session. It'll make it harder to extinguish the flame accidentally."

"As for specific techniques to learn and practice, your academy techniques should be your focus until you graduate." The last bit of information was maybe a bit annoying to hear. As it was likely stated by all her teachers within the academy and maybe even others who'd supervised her. Though they were the most important to know for graduation purposes, so it wasn't some sort of lie, but a mere mention of caution. As you can never be too prepared for any given event.

Uka's eyes widened with wonder as Momo-sensei effortlessly put out the flames using her hand. She was really excited to learn about Katon, even though it could be a bit dangerous. When Momo-sensei set up the candles and lit the middle one, Uka was totally focused on it. It seemed like so much fun!

Momo-sensei explained everything, and Uka listened really carefully. She wanted to get this right. So, she tried to do what Momo-sensei had said. She stretched her hand out, thinking hard about fire, just like in the picture in her mind. "Okay, fire, let's do this," she whispered. She gathered her chakra in the center of herself, slowly guiding it to her fingertips, and then released it onto the middle candle. Trying her best to keep a steady flow of the chakra, she noticed at some point that it had wavered, but Uka didn't pay much attention to it.

And guess what? The fire on the middle candle flickered and then hopped onto the next candle! Uka's face lit up, and she glanced at Momo-sensei, hoping she saw. But then, when Uka tried the same thing with another candle, the fire didn't respond. She tried again, but it was like the fire was saying, "Not today!"

Uka kept trying, but the other candles just wouldn't catch fire. It felt like the fire didn't want to cooperate anymore. She looked at Momo-sensei with a little frown, sort of asking, "What did I do wrong?" Even though things didn't work out as she wanted, Uka wasn't going to give up. She was determined to figure this out.

Momo herself hadn't mastered chakra control, so without thinking she'd see Uka's frustration and bleakly reply. "I ask myself that everyday." A bit too lost in her own sedation, her eyes would widen in slight horror. The shock and surprise of her realizing she'd spoken her thoughts aloud.

"Uh-hh... What I mean is we're always learning, there's always something more we can do to be better." Momo would attempt to redirect her students attention from her more pessimistic words. In truth her recovery helped her pep up a bit internally, as it wasn't a lie that she'd spoken. A bit too impressed with herself, she'd actually release a sigh of relief. As her poor drug raddled Takehara mind had few truly good cognitive thoughts and recoveries.

"Hmm... In truth I've never seen an academy student master an element so easily. Usually if you've mastered affiliation with your nature, then they're stepping you up to genin. Just keep trying, you've got this." Momo would state with her best attempt at a positive smile. She was all just a bit too awkward at times, but it was hard to be normal on sedatives all the time. It also didn't help she had to spend much of her earlier years away from people.

Even worst. The trauma though, she'd raise her hands to the candles. Her own attempts to subtle guide wind under the candle. As to make sure the source of fire was provided amble oxygen, to make Uka's task all that easier.

Uka's initial disappointment at the candles not responding to her efforts quickly faded as she listened to Momo-sensei's reassuring words. She appreciated the honesty in Momo's admission of her own struggles with chakra control, and it made her feel less disheartened about her own progress. Momo's sudden slip of words only made her teacher seem more human, and Uka couldn't help but giggle at the accidental confession.

"Yeah, you're right, Momo-sensei," Uka replied with a grin, her determination rekindling. "I won't give up. I'll keep practicing until I get it right!" She watched in awe as Momo-sensei subtly manipulated the wind to help her cause, and it gave her a new idea to try.

With renewed energy, Uka continued to concentrate on the candles, this time focusing on controlling the flow of her chakra more precisely. She remembered the sensation of when the fire had responded to her earlier, and she tried to replicate it. Slowly but surely, she channeled her chakra, trying to maintain a steady and gentle touch on the candle's flame.

And then, it happened. The middle candle's flame flickered, but instead of leaping to the next one, it just grew stronger and steadier. Uka's eyes widened with amazement. Albeit, Uka's excitement got the best of her as she watched the middle candle's flame grow stronger. Eager to demonstrate her newfound control, she attempted to move the flame to the next candle without properly maintaining her chakra's delicate balance. With an enthusiastic flick of her wrist, she channeled her chakra too forcefully, causing the flame to sputter and then extinguish altogether.

"Oh no!" Uka gasped, her eyes widening in dismay as the second candle remained unlit. She had let her excitement get the better of her, and now she had to start over. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she glanced over at Momo-sensei, who wore a patient and encouraging expression.

Uka tried once more. She took a deep breath, calming her racing heart, and refocused her energy on the second candle. This time, she moved more deliberately, gradually guiding her chakra towards the flame. Slowly, a small flicker of fire emerged, and she carefully nurtured it, allowing it to grow and spread to the next candle. Uka attempted to light the third candle. She tried to replicate the careful control she had displayed moments ago, but the pressure of success weighed heavily on her young shoulders. As she concentrated on the task, her excitement started to surge once more. Her focus wavered, and her chakra flow became uneven. Instead of a controlled release, she unintentionally sent a burst of chakra toward the third candle. The result was not what she expected. The candle's flame erupted into a brief, intense blaze that singed the wick and caused it to sputter out.

Uka's face fell as she stared at the extinguished candle in disappointment. She had let her eagerness and impatience get the better of her once again, and now she felt a growing frustration with herself. "Maybe I am not that talented," Uka gave an awkward smile that tried to hide the disappointment she was feeling.

It was curious to watch someone else perform this exercise. Granted her elemental version involved more fans than a risky flame. The whole candle allure gave it an almost ritualistic feel, it had a very charming warmth to it. Well as long as the goat could keep herself from worrying about the burning nature of all fire. It should of been obvious to her that when the flame got too big, it'd be ultimately more bad than good.

Fire wasn't really the strong suit of the Amegakure shinobi, she was easy to anger due to her KKG. So she was usually guided to stay away from fires and possible pain triggers. The fact the wick wouldn't last longer than it needed for the wax to melt escaped her. She'd blink in slight surprise when it went out, however there was another candle still lit to regain composure. So Momo simply kept her nervous smile and attempted to continue more or less her own training on circulating air to the flame.

Alas her efforts and Uka's would end with the fire going out. The so far totally confident academy student seemed to be losing her flame. Both literally and figuratively. Momo wasn't the best at picking it up, but the younger girls level of excitement made it a bit more obvious. "Oh-uh... You're doing fine. A pointer, hmm... Though a larger flame could cover a greater distance, the wick will burn quicker than the wax can melt. Can't let the beauty of the flame overwhelm you."

Retrieving a small paper cup from her bag, she'd fill it with water from a sink in the room. "Here take a second and have some water." She'd after giving the girl the water, proceed to retrieve another slip of the chakra testing paper. "How about as soon as you're ready you have the honor of relighting the candles? Just make sure to toss the paper once you've lit one or two." Momo would state hoping the instant gratification of the chakra paper might rekindle the kids fire.

Uka accepted the paper cup of water with gratitude, taking a moment to sip it slowly and calm her nerves. Momo-sensei's words of encouragement and advice resonated with her, and she appreciated the opportunity to regroup. She couldn't deny that her initial excitement had gotten the better of her, but she was determined to learn from her mistakes and improve.

"Thank you, Momo-sensei," Uka said with a sincere smile as she handed the empty cup back. "I needed that moment to cool down, both mentally and literally."

She took a deep breath and looked at the remaining candles, her determination reignited. "I'll give it another try, and this time I'll remember to focus on the balance between control and enthusiasm. I won't let the beauty of the flame distract me from the task at hand."

With a newfound resolve, Uka carefully gathered her chakra once more, ensuring it flowed steadily and gently. She remembered the sensation of the flame responding to her earlier attempts and this time, she aimed to replicate that sensation with precision. She picked up the chakra testing paper and, with a controlled flick of her wrist, directed her chakra towards the paper. The paper burst into flame, and Uka held her breath as she watched that.

With her spirit visibly lifted she focused her attention on the the first unlit candle once again. Not forgetting Momo's words, she gathered her chakra once again, as gently and controlled as she could, and directed it to the candle, a moment later, a smile appeared on Uka's face as she watched the fire dance on the wick. She waited patiently, making sure not to rush, and then carefully moved the flame to the next candle. It was a slow and deliberate process, but this time, she maintained her focus, resisting the urge to let her excitement get the better of her.

As the second candle's flame flickered to life, a sense of accomplishment washed over Uka. She continued the process, moving on to the third candle, and this time, she managed to keep her chakra flow steady. The flame responded to her control, and the third candle was lit successfully.

"Thank you, Momo-sensei," Uka said, her voice filled with genuine gratitude. "Thank you for your guidance and patience. I won't forget this lesson, and I'll keep working on my chakra control." Her eyes looked at the lit candles, as she herself couldn't believe that she was able to accomplish something like this.

Taking the paper cup she'd bring it to her side, before crushing it in her hand. Her innate scale in dexterity higher than most, so with a quick glance away. Momo would determine the trajectory relatively needed for her to get the trash in the can, behind the table with a subtle motion she'd yeet the crumbled cup away.

A pleasant smile of her own would be returned to the academy student, as she'd nod in acknowledgement to the thanks. She wasn't the talkative type, so all the thanks and cheer slightly overwhelmed the Onigo. A response though would come to mind, when Uka highlighted why she thanked the goat.

"Hydration helps the head work." A phrase she'd heard once while volunteering, as she'd herself gotten stumped due to something so simple. Granted this wasn't really close in comparison to the situation, but mimicking others advise felt safer than trying to spew her own. Even if it wasn't the hydration, but the break that helped Uka.

Reciting her advise, Momo had nothing more to add. So she'd once again reply none verbally with two thumbs up. Taking the task seriously and using all their focus, it'd seem Uka truly was capable. As she'd go from lighting the paper to transferring the fire from one candle to the next. Lighting the whole thing methodically.

"That's amazing! A complete turn around on just you're second try." Momo would exclaim in her soft voice, though she'd speak it with much more enthusiasm than normal. Truly impressed by the academy students quick development. "You're an amazing student, I am glad to of been assistance!"

I won't forget these lessons, and I'll strive to become the best I can be."
