The two genins were suddenly met with an unforeseen peril—an ambush from a lurking tiger. Quick to react, Enyo, with his katana drawn, took on the daunting task of diverting the tiger's attention. With a focused and unwavering gaze, he engaged the ferocious beast, ready to sacrifice himself if necessary, all in the name of ensuring the mission's success.

In the midst of this life-or-death confrontation, Enyo swiftly made a crucial decision. Recognizing that the scroll they carried held the key to their mission's completion, he entrusted it to Hisao, his comrade. With a quick toss, Enyo placed the scroll into Hisao's capable hands, instructing him to continue on the mission's path. Hisao, clutching the scroll tightly, acknowledged his orders and set off on a detour to evade the tiger, determined to reach their destination and deliver the scroll as their mission required.

With Enyo valiantly facing the fierce tiger, Hisao pressed forward through the unforgiving terrain. As he journeyed toward the Red Keep, he remained vigilant for any additional threats or obstacles that might impede his progress. Yet, fortune favored Hisao, and no further adversaries or dangers crossed his path. The scroll, its contents of utmost importance, remained securely in his possession.

Upon reaching the destination, Hisao successfully delivered the scroll, ensuring that the mission's crucial information reached its intended recipient.

blood as black as the ocean
Hisao disappeared, good. Hopefully with that the mission would be a success. In the meantime, Enyo would keep the tiger distracted best that he could, fighting it off. And with no real reason to go forward - unless he was signaled by something that he needed to - he would start a retreat until there was a tree that he could jump into that the tiger could not follow.

Surely, tigers could climb, but not very well. Their large bodies were not made for scaling heights, and it would allow Enyo to get away unscathed at least for the time being and without much of a hitch. Once he was up in a tall enough tree, he felt smug enough to smirk to himself and even put away his katana.

He would however, swirl some of the blood from the wound inside his mouth and drip it on the forest ground, and leave a little trail for Hisao to follow along in his retreat.

Perhaps the two can meet back up at some junction and make a safer return home. Though if the hours that it took to get out *here* was any indication, it would be an equally long journey (if not longer since they would likely slow down) home.

But at least they would get the opportunity to do so, sooner than later.

" Just surviving in life isn’t the same as living "

Hisao bows respectfully before turning and running back out of the camp and back towards where he had last seen Enyo. He would be extra careful when looking around, trying to spot traces of blood or other marks from a fight, or the victor of said fight be it tiger or boy..

Assuming he would have eventually found Enyo’s trail of blood, Hisao would have been caught a little off-guard by its black colouration and so tried to find the boy even faster, foregoing a bit of caution to catch up with him.
When eventually he would, he would have called out to the boy, figuring it would at the very least work as a way to tell him he had returned and that the mission had been a success.

"The mission has been completed successfully. Are you hurt?”

After that it really would have depended on Enyo. Should he accept it, Hisao would have helped treat any wounds he might have suffered in his fight with the tiger. If he stayed quiet, Hisao would too, not really interested in talking much even after their mission was technically completed. If not or even if but then afterwards, Hisao would have kept him silent company on the way back to town, trying to constantly keep an eye out for any further dangers.
In either case Hisao would take down mental notes on Enyo’s health, from what he could observe, his instinct in the medical profession kicking in. He would make sure that even if Hisao did not treat him, someone would, should he have actually been hurt.

At some point, while they were still in the forest, Hisao would have tried somewhat sneakily to snatch up a few acorns and flowers and tug them away quickly. If caught he would have just looked away and paced forward a bit, clearly embarrassed but unwilling to talk about it.

When they did finally make it back to town, there likely would not be any great promises of keeping in touch or meeting up again, at least from Hisao side, but still, he could not deny that he had learnt something new today and now felt at least a little more confident that he too, perhaps someday soon, too could go outside and take some of that confidence Enyo had showed with him.
