[Daredemo]

    "Why can't you ever do things right," the words stung like daggers through the young boys heart. His face burned red. The sting of regret went through every recess of his mind. He didn't know what to do with this feeling. His father was always a drunken bastard. Daredemo had just, in a small recess in his heart, thought his father might actually care for once. When Daredemo told him how he had better figured himself out. How he knew his name. Knew that he was HIM. 

       Why was he still so stupid. 

    He should have never expected a thing from that man. It was always a waste of effort. No, it was going to be him and him alone once again. It always ended up that way. His mother... she never was around. She was out on the town, doing everything she could to avoid home. Doing everything she could to ignore the turmoil that her sons death had cause. Ignoring her other child. Ignoring how her father treated the lonely kid.

    Daredemo looked in the mirror. He didn't really recognize the person staring back at him anymore. It had been a long time since he could honestly say that he had. He thought of his friends. Miror and Itsuki made him happy. Made him feel like a new person. He looked down at the knife in his hands. He took a deep breath in and closed his eyes tight.

    Daredemo raised his head once again. He stared at himself at the mirror. He couldn't help but bring a wide smile to his lips as he looked at the man staring back at him. For the first time in a long time, he could recognize the person staring back at him. He wished that someone else was here to bask in the sight of what was in front of him. The reality was that he could have had someone here with him. But he wanted to do it now. He couldn't wait for his friends. Now, somehow worse, he couldn't wait to see what their reaction would be.

    Daredemo charged out of the bathroom. He was sure that he could hear his father saying something, but somehow Daredemo was forcing it out of his head. He was refusing to listen to his fathers words. Instead he rushed out of his home. He rushed out of the family shrine. He ran as fast as his legs could take him. He had been doing a lot of jogging around the compound by this point. This time last year there was no way he would be moving at this rate. But he put one foot in front of the other, extended his legs in as perfect of strides as he could manage. He went straight to Miroru's home. Banging on the door.

    Daredemo rested his hands on his knees, bending down and breathing deeply as he waited for the response to come from the other side of the door. He was not supposed to be running that fast that long. He had just been doing a lot of jogging and dashing so far. Long distance was a completely different animal. He would have to ask Miroru for some tips about his form.

    Speaking of which, Daredemo was surprised when Miroru was not the one answering the door. He was dismayed to learn that Miroru was apparently out on a mission right now. It wasn't surprising he guessed, she was a big deal all of a sudden. He was still disappointed to hear that she wasn't here. He was happy when he heard the person in front of him ask who he was. He beamed as he responded with his name, but said he had to go, and after a short break he once again began to run through the compound.

    This time Daredemo was heading directly towards the gate. If Miroru wasn't here, maybe he could find his way to Itsuki's? He had never actually been to the Yamanaka compound. He didn't exactly know where he was supposed to start looking?

    Yet again Daredemo found himself having to push to go as fast as he could. The moment he was outside the gates of the Uchiha compound he felt like he had the opportunity to focus far more on the nature of his form. He took a feew deep breaths as he continued to move forward. He began to pump his arms in time with his breathing, making his body work as a machine. He would push his legs out to the best extension he could, and the moment he felt the earth below his front foot he would poor his strength into pushing himself further even faster. 

    Focusing more of his energy on the fundamentals of his body seemed to make him more confident overall in his movement. As he looked around he realized a lot of what was happening, people seemed to kind of be giving the young child running full speed a bit of breathing room on the path. Daredemo assumed most did it for their own safety, but he didn't like the implication. He was training to be a shinobi after all. They had no reason to think he was at risk of running into them. 

    Either way, Daredemo wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth. He was going to keep charging forward until he made it all the way to the Yamanaka compound!

    Where was the Yamanaka Compound again?

    A momentary lapse in his focus on body movement meant Daredemo was losing all control. He tripped over his own foot and tumbled across the dirt road. Falling over himself once over again and again before coming to a stop in a seated position in the middle of the street. The young boy seemed mostly fine, his clothes were absolutely filthy now, but as he looked around at he didn't notice any scratches or scuffs. A few cut pieces of cloth but nothing touching his skin, at the end of the day it could have been a lot worse.

    As Daredemo got to his feet he heard the sound of feet running towards him. When he turned he saw blond locks running up to him.

    "Hey are you okay kid?" Daredemo probably looked strange as he in large part ignored the question that was just asked. Instead he looked the man who ran up to him up and down for a few moments. When he payed more attention he saw the Yamanaka clan logo on the man's clothing. Couldn't deny that it was a lucky coincidence. 

   Daredemo at least finally talked to the guy,  "You wouldn't happen to know where the Yamanaka compound is would you?"

    The Yamanaka that Daredemo had ran into was pretty nice honestly. After the future shinobi explained that he was a friend of Itsuki, and he wanted to go tell him some good news, he gave Daredemo directions to where most of the Yamanaka's lived.

    After taking such a big fall Daredemo did decide he wanted to take a bit of a breather though. He wasn't done moving, that be lame. Instead he was just going to spend a bit of time walking instead of running full steam ahead. It was probably for the best that Daredemo got a chance to breath for a moment and look around. 

    He had at least a little bit of money on him. Getting something to drink would be a good idea. And he honestly had a bit more money than just that. he figured it wouldn't be much trouble to just work on getting some new clothes too. It was probably a bad idea to show off his new look while rocking tattered clothing. Plus, the directions to the Yamanaka houses that Daredemo had gotten were going to lead him right through a nice little shopping district anyways. There was no good reason not to take advantage of the opportunity.

    Ramune was, far and without a doubt, Daredemo's favourite drink. A nice lemonade drink, refreshing and cool, such a satisfying pop when you opened it. When he was getting refreshments, it only made sense to get one of his favorites. Daredemo was giddy when he got to taste the fizzy lemon on his tongue. All that came now was searching the shopping district for some new clothes to replace this ratty mess he was still in. There had to be something good close around. 

    Daredemo darted from storefront to storefront to see what each one had to offer, eventually one place in particular grabbed his attention. Long hoods, black and white aesthetics, golden reliefs. It was like it was made for cool assassins like in his favorite books. he couldn't help but duck his head inside to see what else there was inside. 

    The place was so cool. A moody and dark aesthetic that Daredemo couldn't help but admit he was a sucker for. And as he combed through outfit after outfit the boy finally found one that peaked his interest. White pants, white long sleeve shirt. All held down with white bandages. Over top a black tunic with a large hood for Daredemo to hide his head inside. Long black boots to go with it. The thing that brought it over the top were the gloves. Gold lace back.

    Daredemo spent pretty much every last dime he had on the one outfit, he felt like it was worth it though. The second he put it on he felt like a real ninja. An assassin ready to lurk in the shadows and pounce on an unsuspecting victim. I mean, Daredemo planned on being an Anbu some day, it made sense he would get a cool aesthetic to match that future vibe. He looked at himself in the shop window, and with the hood up he thought he looked super cool. 

    Daredemo felt like they had taken long enough of a break for now, they had caught their breath after all. In his new outfit he would begin to stretch out his legs and arms once again before bursting out of the shopping district.

    He had learned from his earlier mistakes, he didn't need to force himself to go full speed the whole way there. Conserving his energy, finding a healthy top speed to remain at instead of overworking himself. This was the chance to right earlier wrongs. Making sure that the speed he went at was sustainable would, in the long run, push his speed higher naturally. He wouldn't even notice it when it was happening.

    It was still a tremendous effort to push himself like this once again. While he wasn't going absolute max speed anymore, he was still pushing himself. He still needed to concentrate heavily on his breathing. To focus on making sure his body didn't make any useless movement. It was never going to be perfect, but practice made perfect. Daredemo kept going. If he was going to make himself a great shinobi some day, he needed to push himself in every aspect. This was just one of many. There was no room for weakness, no room for slowing down. 

    Getting to the Yamanaka clan was a reward in it's own right though. Regardless of getting better at running, finding Itsuki was going to make it all worth it. Daredemo asked around, dashing from person to person to figure out where Itsuki's house was, it took finding a group of kids. All the adults just kept asking who Itsuki was, and Daredemo had no idea what his parents names were. Finally at the right door though, he was excited to share his new look, share his new self.

    It turned out Itsuki was also busy today. Brand new tasks for a newly formed Genin. This really wasn't fair.
