There was a moment, just a moment, where the Toru-clone thought Daichi might actually do it; his dodge had been sloppy but effective, mitigating the damage to a deep slash rather than a killing blow, which should have left enough of an opening for him to act, particularly with her holding back the way she was. But as that moment stretched into two, the clone saw the indecision etched into the Yamaguchi boy’s face… and moved, left hand snaking forwards as fast it could move it to grab at his shirt and leap forwards, using the Chuunin’s own momentum and the Accelerate technique against him in an attempt to hurl the both of them, bodily, into the side of a nearby building.

Regardless of its suicidal charge incapacitated Daichi or not, the real Sora would know what happened, her clone dispersing on impact and leaving the Chuunin to his own devices. But she knew, almost instinctively, what had happened, and with a sigh the disguised Jounin kept moving, walking swiftly through the crowd without drawing too much attention to herself, lips parting in an annoyed frown that looked only slightly less intimidating than it would have on her actual face.

Stupid lovesick boy… Gonna get himself killed if he keeps this up.

Jutsu/SA's/Equipment Used
Jutsu:
NAME: Kasoku Suru [Accelerate]
RANK: C
CHAKRA USAGE: Very Low
CLASSIFICATION: Taijutsu
ELEMENT: -
HANDSEALS: 0
DESCRIPTION: A very simple technique, by using chakra the user is able to instantly accelerate their selves to their max speed. This can be done in just about any condition, but any techniques that slow the user's movement (such as armor from jutsu or most jutsu that might slow an individual) will still affect them.

Special Abilities:
The Kunoichi That Goes On And On And On… [Endurance SA]
Perhaps part of her genetics or simply a random quirk of fate, Sora is unnaturally resilient, be it to physical pain or the toils of extended combat. While most Shinobi would collapse in exhaustion at having used all but the smallest sliver of their chakra reserves, she pushes on; while most Shinobi would wilt beneath the weight of sleepless night after sleepless night, she keeps going. This does not mean she does not feel pain/the strain of extended combat, but rather that her threshold for shutting down because of it is far higher than others. To give an example, if she were to be stabbed through her abdomen, she would still feel the pain of the injury, and it would hinder her ability to move/act, but it wouldn’t stop her, whereas a normal ninja might freeze up or shut down from the pain.

Bet You Didn’t See That Coming [Speed SA]
A byproduct of her enhanced endurance, Sora (despite what many would think) dislikes being injured- and with that dislike comes the intense desire to avoid getting hurt, a desire that has pushed her to hone her body until it could move faster than most others of her rank. In short, Sora is fast- very, very fast.

POWAH! UNLIMITED POWAH!! [Chakra Reserves SA]
After a lifetime of utilizing nearly every ounce of chakra in her body just to survive, Sora’s chakra reserves have expanded a considerable amount to compensate- while she’s no Jinchuuriki, her ability to toss out jutsu after jutsu and still have enough chakra to keep going is quite remarkable, a testament to just how much of the stuff she actually has.

I Am Not Left-Handed [Kenjutsu Mastery SA]
Sora is not merely a Kenjutsu specialist- she is a master when it comes to the art of the sword; after over two decades of training, her skills are unrivaled within Kirigakure, falling short only to the Seven Swordsman themselves… some of them, anyway. This mastery allows her a distinct advantage when fighting other Bukijutsu specialists of similar or lesser rank.

If You Try For Speed, You Do Not Achieve Speed [Bukijutsu Speed SA]
Beyond being a master of Kenjutsu, Sora has practiced for decades to become the faster swordswoman she can be. As such, her Kenjutsu techniques come out faster and move quicker than those performed by others of her rank.

Equipment: Samidare | Spring Rain Blade (Drawn)
SA’s
Unbreakable
Whatever metal and forging process was used in the creation of Samidare, it worked; Samidare is utterly unbreakable by most any means, capable of being engulfed in an S-Rank Jutsu and remaining unscathed. Though it is possible that the blade could potentially be broken by a sufficiently powerful attack (such as, say, a Bijuu-dama), this has never been tested, so it is not known if it would survive.

Sharper Than Your Average Blade
Due to its nature as an unbreakable blade, Samidare bears a cutting edge that is of particular note, which allows it to slice through even steel with little in the way of resistance, so long as the proper force is applied. Additionally, this edge never needs to be resharpened, as it never grows dull or rolls, thus making it perfect for frontline combat.

Light as Spring Rain
Perhaps a quirk of its forging (or perhaps an intentional feature), Samidare is considerably lighter than a blade its size and length ought to be; while this would normally result in a less effective weapon, Samidare loses none of its integrity or cutting power, as it is somehow able to leverage the same amount of force through less mass. This lightness allows the user to swing the weapon about with much greater speed for the same amount of physical exertion.

Chakra Conduction
Being Chakra Conductive, Samidare is capable of channeling all types of Chakra for use in Bukijustu, and, more particularly, it has a slight affinity for Raiton chakra thanks to Sora’s constant use of the blade for that purpose. This affinity does not do anything of real note, but it does feel as if the blade were more eager to drink in Raiton Chakra than other types.

In the moment between seizure and impact, Daichi realized his mistake down the nanosecond—but it was too late for him to do anything about it, a helpless observer within the confines of his own mind, his body too weak and too slow to do anything but ragdoll as the Toru-clone slammed him bodily into the side of a building. Stone cracked beneath the force of the impact, to say nothing of his ribs; his head whiplashed so hard that he very nearly blacked out, and it was only the sheer force of his own stubbornness that kept him conscious.

The clone discorporated without a word. Daichi slumped to the ground, one hand cradling his fractured ribcage, the other tenderly probing at the back of his head to ensure his skull hadn’t actually split open in the way that it felt it did.

Sora had been holding back, that much was clear.

But after a moment he realized distantly that the final signature—Sora herself, as was now patently obvious—was still moving, and not in his direction. The clone hadn’t said anything, and Sora wasn’t rushing over to scold him, and he hadn’t blacked out… injured, yes, in god-awful pain so bad that he thought he might black out from the enormity of it, but he could still move if he pushed himself.

The exercise wasn’t over.

With a groan he hauled himself to his feet. There was no speed or grace—he was all too aware that if he moved too aggressively that he ran the risk of puncturing a lung with one of those floating ribs—but at a limping pace, he stubbornly persisted after his final awareness of Sora, waving off the concerned questions of passers-by all the while.

Sora let loose a long, heavy sigh, long legs taking her through the crowded streets of Kirigakure as she let her Henge drop, the scowl on her face and the sudden shift in her appearance startling a handful of civilians who were walking past. The pink-haired Jounin ignored them, her sky-blue gaze blazing with barely restrained anger, the storm in her chest a raging beast that battered at the cage of her will, though not to harm or kill. No, her anger this time was not violent, not raging, but concerned- the kind one felt when a student made a fatal, or nearly fatal, error in an exercise that wasn’t meant to push him to such limits.

Stupid, lovesick boy! She thought, her pace picking up into a run as she weaved through the crowd, leaping up onto a nearby wall to gain access to the rooftops. From there she moved much faster, all but sprinting towards the place her clone and Daichi had collided in a wall, cracking stone with the impact which had, in all likelihood, seriously fucked up the Yamaguchi boy’s entire body. There had been a moment, a single chance where he could have attacked her clone, could have dispersed it and kept the exercise going… but he hadn’t taken it. And she knew why.

"Daichi!" Sora yelled, feet cracking the tiling of the roof beneath her as she glanced down and, by pure luck, spotted the battered Chuunin hobbling down the street towards her; she shifted her momentum in an instant, landing in the middle of of crowd and rolling to absorb the impact, hands already coming up to clear away the small crowd that had gathered around the Chuunin, if only for the spectacle. She summoned a Shadow Clone, sending it ahead of her

"The exercise is over, Daichi. Stop." She spat, her eyes bulging as she took in the sight of him; one arm cradled his side, signaling potential broken ribs, while blood seeped from a wound on the back of his head, staining his otherwise fine outfit crimson as he stumbled forward, somehow on his feet and moving despite the obvious pain he was in. Gods he probably has a concussion… or worse.

She didn’t say anything else as she approached him; there was no time to wait for a medic to arrive, no way to guarantee he got the needed treatment before he passed out… but she had to try. So, with all the speed she could muster, the pink-haired Jounin swept Daichi’s left leg out from beneath him, twisted around his falling body and arched her arms beneath his knees and shoulder, catching the boy before he fell back onto his already injured head.

With him in her arms she moved, leaping carefully over the crowd towards the rooftops, where she quickly made her way towards the hospital. It was only when they were up in the air, crossing from roof to roof, that Sora chose to speak again, her voice terse and laced with the kind of anger that could only be born of worry.

"You know, I knew you had a crush on the Mizukage, but I didn’t think you’d let it interfere with doing your job." The Jounin paused to leap across a particularly large gap, cradling Daichi’s head as best she could to keep it from shaking too much while they moved. "I don’t know what’s going on in that head of yours, but you have to get your shit together, Daichi. If I was an enemy Shinobi, you would be dead and Toru would be in danger. You can’t… You can’t have a weakness like that. Not as a bodyguard, and certainly not as a Shinobi."

Because one day, someone would use it against him. And if he wasn’t strong enough to fight them off… he would die.

Ideally Daichi would have been able to map out his plan of attack for when he finally caught up to Sora, limping and lurching as he was, but the sheer amount of pain he was in was overwhelming, so much so that it filled his mind with white noise; there was no thought beyond putting one foot in front of the other, relying on instinct and vague sensory awareness to get him where he needed to go.

He didn’t realize that Sora had caught up to him until he was already in her arms.

"Hey,” he protested, but there was nothing he could do once Sora decided to manhandle him; and, in the end, an order was an order. He stopped only because he was told to.

He clung to consciousness as Sora swiftly brought him to the hospital, closing all three of his eyes to spare himself the raging headache slowly mounting to a crescendo. But even with all his aches and pains, the razor-thin edge he was riding before toppling into unconsciousness, none of it spared him from the white-hot helping of shame that Sora served to him.

It was bad enough that she peeled his chest open and plucked this secret from his heart as casually as she might pick gristle from her teeth, close as he kept it; it was even worse that she shamed him for it; it was absolutely worst of all that he knew, fundamentally, that she was right.

That he would lay down his life for Toru was something he had known he would do from the moment he was positioned as the Mizukage’s bodyguard. That his devotion to his duty had transformed into lovesickness, that his crush could result in something so severe as a failure to do his duty—that was unforgivable.

"I know,” he said softly. He wished he could slip into unconsciousness, if only to escape the conversation, but his body was too stubborn to let him. "But I don’t—I don’t know what to do.”

It was around this time that one of his floating ribs veered too close to his lungs, which did sincerely put him out of commission; fortunately for him they had also arrived at the hospital, so while his injuries were severe, he’d survive the experience. Kyoko, when he eventually told her what happened while he was in recovery, would be irate… though he was careful to keep the details of what exactly had gone wrong to himself.

It was bad enough that Sora knew. He couldn’t risk his secret escaping containment, even to his own sister.
