Hotarubi was pleased to see his henge work and he would drop it promptly after the attack had caught him on a +3 body count. On the other hand, he wondered what it was going to be and he waited.

Until the noise. Looking up, and back at the route she had taken - Hotarubi scoffed.

... "Are you fucking kidding me?" Would be the the noise coming into Kunikunosaku's ear followed by the static and silence. He couldn't destroy a dam haphazardly. Well - obviously he could but the mission detailed that they didn't, that was the entire fucking point! His head craned.

Hotarubi had not heard the voice that Kunikunosaku had, and as he looked up - he wondered who else would need to be taken out, utterly unconcerned about the impending doom about to happen. He would need to abandon his post and started using the tree climbing technique and engaged his 'earth core' as he would begin to scale up it, planning out his route as he was going to start taking anyone and everyone out as he scaled up, and then over into the makeshift dam's operational centre.

Everybody had to die now, and he supposed that Kunikunosaku had done him a service, of sorts. So they'd reversed positions - she was going to take out people, and so was he - and then they could dismantle it. Carefully. Together.

Evil Doesn't Die; It Changes Shape.

Striking into the ground at presumably mach speed would kill just about anyone. Add chakra and you get a dangerous kamikaze attack. Kunikunosaku attributed surviving the lethal drop with her Earth Grudge Fear ability. Now, the survivability of those not her wasn't obvious to her. However, Kuni was sure at least she got one person, she wasn't that great yet deciding her lethality with Fūton. Getting up from smacking into the ground was easier than it would look and of course, some may be concerned how the Kunoichi might still be alive. Which is fair, at least until they are fighting her. Kunikunosaku stood up and gripped her weapons, looking around to what she has done. The Mikatakujira had a small smile catching the last tidbits of the panicked alarms. The Mikatakujira tried to feel if her headset was intact before speaking into it, hoping for the best. "Give me about ten... trusting you can do your thing." The dual-eye-toned Kunoichi scanned the closet targets before raising her two daggers to chest level. The blades glow softly with an orange hue before she spins rapidly. Extending her limbs rapidly to increase the flaming arc ranges, modifying her possible output.

Regardless if the flames harmed anyone or not, the light, visuals, and heat were potentially distracting enough that once she recalled her long limbs, Kunikunosaku targetted a new opponent and charged straight at them. Funneling Fūton chakra through her feet, the Mikatakujira sped like a bullet with the least amount of resistance to her target. While she had little to say, she had a lot of actions to partake in. She had a killing to make. Her role in the mission was to kill... she was going to do that. Hopefully, Hotarubi would perfect his role.

Jiongu | Earth Grudge Fear

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body
As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.

Power of a God:
After a great time learning how to control Jiongu, Kunikunosaku has learned to store chakra in each of her threads so long as they continue to be attached to at least one of her hearts. This extra storage capacity allows the girl to amass greater amounts of chakra within herself, expanding her reserves beyond that of the normal shinobi her rank. As with many other abilities, this ability continues to grow as the girl does through the ranks and years.

Cursed Master:

As a reward for attaining a greater deal of control over her symbiotic relationship with Jiongu, Kunikunosaku acquired the keys to the gate of mastering her abilities. This new boon allows Kunikunosaku to double the impact of her EGF ninjutsu. In addition, a passive boon is the ability to completely negate Jiongu's manipulation to consume more hearts. These boons together allow Kuni to further manipulate Jiongu against its basic natures, improving her unique utilization. While still young and unrefined, the ability is expected to grow as their bond deepens to even further levels.

Medical Knowledge:

Being from Takigakure's prestigious clan medical clan, Kunikunosaku is also set to learn the human anatomy, biology, and Kinesthetics, While this knowledge DOES NOT give her access to Medical Ninjutsu Techniques, however, the knowledge does unlock abilities of precision to the human body with every attack. This knowledge grants field combat medic aid but nowhere near the degree of those actually trained in it.

With the incredible fracas Kunikunosaku's arrival had created, Hotarubi could sense a lot of frantic movement from people who his eyes could not see. And yet, in all the motions, he clearly detected that someone had just pulled a lever. Its sound resonated into the earth, something that, on average, nobody would even pick up in the slightest. But for someone who could sense things through the earth, Hotarubi had felt the vibrations. And he had subsequently felt something in the dam give, and the water beyond found a little outlet through which to surge. As if to lend credence to the correctness of his senses, a panel somewhere on the middle of the dam wall opened, and a steady, strong stream of water gushed out. Hotarubi would detect that there were about a dozen of these lever-operated panels, and he would sense that people were moving towards them.

Meanwhile, the kunoichi atop the wall had given herself space with her crash landing, although a few rogues seemed unwilling to allow her to keep that respite, as they charged at her, brandishing crude weapons. The first two quickly learned the foolishness of their ways, their screams being silenced by the flames of her weapons. The others fell back, suddenly unwilling to continue with trying to rush her. But it was now Kunikunosaku's turn to charge. A few vainly attempted some feeble resistance, but the most simply turned and fled. As the Taki kunoichi worked her craft of death, she would find her head in danger of being tapped by a large kanabo, wielded by a giant of a man who moved surprisingly fast for his size to attempt to crush her while she was killing someone else. He was dressed in rags, but his face was covered by a wooden and metal mask.

"Die..." was all he said.

The way he felt the action - he looked behind him as he turned over the top of the parapet. He groaned. Being able to see what they were doing, it was quicker to simply react than to try and stop them from doing it so he chose an executive decision, feeling the status of the dam starting to open.

"I'll keep the dam closed! Kill them! I'll tell you where they are!"

Unfortunately: what he had in his own senses, knowing where the relevant people were and how to allow Kunikunosaku to kill them was not the same as being able to describe where they were: from the different levers. Hotarubi could quite have easily navigated himself but with no experience on actually explaining where something was in respect of where Kunikunosaku was, instead of to his own position - was having trouble finding the words.

And doing that as he jumped from the dam to superhero land back at the bottom of the dam, performing handseals as he went would land on his knees: thankfully, with no damage to worry about he would turn on his heel and face the dam. Instead of choosing to fight, hands of mud and rock would scream from the earth - dozens of hands seeking to reinforce the dam instead of destroying it, to keep it shut. Hotarubi could hear the groaning fight between his own doton technique and the mechanical power of the dam. But his own enhanced abilities? It would keep shut, but would it hold? Those were two very different outcomes. If it gurned and broke, those fuckers would have achieved exactly what they wanted anyway.

Ironically, the exact opposite of what they'd actually been ordered to do. "There are several levers along the ... walkway! opening the dam!" Hotarubi tried to describe as he pushed his palms out and viscerally controlling the arms with his movements. "Three are beelining to the ones furthest from you. I'm a little preoccupied! One of the levers is beh- un- the last one is inside a room! dammit!"

NAME: Doton: Yomi no Te [Earth Release: Hands of the Underworld]

DESCRIPTION:
The user forms six hand seals before stomping their foot on the ground. Underneath their opponent sprouts a grouping of arms that reach up and pin the opponent to the ground. This jutsu can be used to subdue one person or if they pours more chakra into it, they can subdue a medium sized group (About ten to twenty), the hands can come from anywhere within sixty yards of the user. The stone hands are reinforced with the user's chakra and are insanely hard to break out of. The user has full control over the hands and can use them to hold their opponent fast or even squeeze said opponent to death if they want. If they chooses to kill their opponent the hands act much like boa constrictors, breaking the opponents bones and pressing them into the earth.

It went from bad to worse real quick. While kunikunosaku's onslaught was cooking, literally, with jumping flames and murderous charges; it was unknown to her that another was coming. Unlike Hotarubi who sensed multiple enemies coming one by one, Kunikunosaku was essentially fighting blind. No matter, it made the battles fair. Hotarubi called out to Kunikunosaku, feeding her information and she sighed in annoyance. After pouncing and stabbing one of the open shinobi, she turned around to see a rather large man swinging a Kanabo overhead with her as the target. "Fu-" before she could finish, the Kanabo hit the ground hard, kicking up much dirt and sand. The Kanabo, try as the man might, seemed stuck for a moment. The kicked-up dirt rapidly fell revealing the upper portion stuck in Kuni while the Kanabo head was still on the ground. Kuni smirked before taking Hasan and stabbing it into the neck of the man, releasing her grip so he could fall and release his weapon.

Assuming the man fell, or at least released the weapon and backed away. Kunikunosaku heard Hotarubi's pleas and hit her free fist on her chest. A bundle of black threads ejected from her back and amassed a sort of monster behind her. As her Doton heart transferred to the creature, hidden by the bundle of threads, the created Grudge roared in anger as Kuni weaved new handseals. "Runners... on it." She applied fūton chakra to the soles of her feet, reducing friction, making her more aerodynamic as she hovered in the air. "Attack, I'll be busy." Kuni ordered her grudge to attack the opponents where she was just at as she used her Wind Step to race towards the ones running to the levers. As she neared, Kunikunosaku began flinging her limbs at the running opponents after accommodating her speed, the trajectory, their speed, and where they MIGHT be at the moment the limbs would arrive.

If her maneuver were successful, she would grab each charger by their clothes or their neck and fling them either to the river itself, or back to the fighting Grudge.

The user briefly bursts into several body parts which become engulfed in tendrils, only to quickly pull themselves back together. The user is capable of separating their hearts in any matter they wish. This technique is often used defensively to dodge, but the tendrils can wrap around anything near the point of unification.

DESCRIPTION:
A basic technique used to create a 'Grudge' from any number of hearts a user is storing.

With a small pulse of chakra, threads will push the corresponding mask(s) from the user's body, creating a 'Grudge' in the shape and size of a larger-than-life man. The first of this line of techniques with considerable ability, along with the strength to create more than one, a user can use it as a medium for C-Rank or lower techniques of its affinity. Possessing physical strength lesser than that of it's creator, they can be used to perform basic tasks, some even choosing to grant their 'Grudges' weapons. At this stage, the amount of chakra used to maintain a grudge is still near unnoticeable, but can become tiresome if maintained over an extra-ordinary amount of time.

As Kunikunosaku stabbed at the giant, her blade managed to cut him, though he fell back quickly, which gave him an ugly gash in the cheek, as opposed to his throat, which would have emptied all his blood out, had he not given ground. Of course, this meant he had had to abandon his kanabo when he drew back. But he was not yet dead, and thus available to run interference.

Meanwhile, Hotarubi would discover that he had made some success with his attempt at stopping the floods beyond the dam from rushing out of the open aperture, even as large masses of earth partially blocked the vent. Of course, he had to know that this was just temporary, and soon the river would overcome the defenses he had raised against it. But this was not his largest issue. His largest issue would be if more vents were opened, as that would mean he would have to spread his rock hands across a wider area, and spreading always came at the cost of intensity.

Kunikunosaku seemed to be doing a good job of preventing the runners from getting to the levers, though. Still, the lever Hotarubi had noted within a room had someone running for it, on the further side of the dam, away from Kunikunosaku. The giant, for his part, roared and flung himself at the grudge she had created, trying to pummel it with his large fists. Even as people fell screaming from the top of the dam, thrown off by the kunoichi to their deaths. But then Hotarubi would sense someone come out of the vegetation and approach. Most likely some sentry in the forest. He was heading the Yamakira's way.

Just as he continued and settled the hands, he could feel and survey. Kuni was doing her job and well, he could say with certainty. Not enough - and he nearly turned feeling his sense of someone else coming into purview. Identifying it as a person and not a monkey or something like that, Hotarubi had a choice to make.

There was the choice: someone who was more than likely an enemy emerging from behind who could destroy the work he had just created to keep the dam from opening, until more vents were being opened. So the choice to deal with one or the other? Well - Hotarubi didn't like it.

"Don't fucking have time for this..." Hotarubi grumbled as he performed some seals, turning and slamming his fists down - toward the indiscriminate emergence of someone toward him in his direction, Rocks deeper beneath the dried mud would fling themselves toward them, hopefully buying some time for him to turn, turn human for just a moment that he could use a technique: forming the seal and then flickering upward. Pushing off one of the earth arms with his leg and then finally vaulting back over the top of the dam wall.

Rather than trying to navigate through the place, while he could do that: there would be a quicker route. Hotarubi would begin to parkour along the routes and the stone and walls, between the wooden left-behinds, so that he would end up standing above the room and hopefully arriving to it before his target on account of taking a rather direct route - and provided he wasn't stopped on the way, would slam down hard into the structure. Hotarubi was strong and breaking through what he perceived at a glance was not an enhanced wall, would be a minute task. And that the glint of sunlight would beckon into the room for him to greet his new friend.

After slamming his/her hands on the ground, One sends a multitude of rocks from the ground to fly at the target. These rocks are around the size of small boulders and can kill people if hit dead on. It is effective as a crowd control Ninjutsu. Extremely common in Iwagakure no Sato.

DESCRIPTION:
By invigorating one's entire body with chakra, a shinobi can seemingly disappear and reappear in another location faster than most people can see. Often times one's movements are disguised with the use of an extra element, be it a smoke bomb, leaves, water, sand, etc. in order to hide the user's trajectory from those with skilled eyes. Though it mimics teleportation, it is important to remember this jutsu merely boosts the agility of its user. As useful as this technique is, it can only be used 4 times in a battle thread, compounding in exertion and difficulty each time. with any more usages beyond that result in muscle tears in the legs from overexertion. The hand seal for this technique must be held until the shinobi reaches their destination, making it impossible to utilize other techniques regardless of any preparation.

Racing off to the levers, Kunikunosaku just had to trust things would be okay with the Grudge and things were going smoothly for Hotarubi. She was solely focused on assuring the levers she was after were clear. The man charging at the grudge with all his might would find that it attempted to mimic the charge and smashed into the man. The masked beast was like a deadly, silent, hulking man. Possibly of similar, most likely greater, size than the combatant. It would be interesting, both a large man and an unearthly, colorless figure in a struggle. As Kunikunosaku got closer to levers, seeing that they were adequately cleared, thanks to her efforts, her sights shifted and hastily searched for Hotarubi. She scanned but didn't notice him. Kunikunosaku brought a hand to her face, specifically to assure she was listening and speaking into the headset. "Hotarubi, need a sit rep and a location. Things seem clear here for now." Well, she turned back to where she came from earlier, furrowing her brows as she weaved a new set of seals. The Kunoichi proceeded to move as fast as she could back to the Grudge, stomping her feet before taking off in a sprint.

As the beast fought the man, it felt a dark energy pull from within. Knowing full well the Mikatakujira girl was using it as a medium, the grudge bear-hugged the man trying to fight it. Regardless if the grudge did anything, rock plates around it would shoot up from the ground to the large man's midsection in an attempt to immobilize him. With Kunikunosaku charging in fast on foot to deliver the final blow, a firm stabbing of her knife through his chest. As the man didn't display any Suiton nor Raiton attacks, at least thus far, Kuni would give him the honor of a quick, painless demise once she caught up to him. But for now, he'd just have to deal with both the Doton jutsu and the grudge trying to immobilize him.

Jiongu | Earth Grudge Fear

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body
As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.

Power of a God:
After a great time learning how to control Jiongu, Kunikunosaku has learned to store chakra in each of her threads so long as they continue to be attached to at least one of her hearts. This extra storage capacity allows the girl to amass greater amounts of chakra within herself, expanding her reserves beyond that of the normal shinobi her rank. As with many other abilities, this ability continues to grow as the girl does through the ranks and years.

Cursed Master:

As a reward for attaining a greater deal of control over her symbiotic relationship with Jiongu, Kunikunosaku acquired the keys to the gate of mastering her abilities. This new boon allows Kunikunosaku to double the impact of her EGF ninjutsu. In addition, a passive boon is the ability to completely negate Jiongu's manipulation to consume more hearts. These boons together allow Kuni to further manipulate Jiongu against its basic natures, improving her unique utilization. While still young and unrefined, the ability is expected to grow as their bond deepens to even further levels.

Medical Knowledge:

Being from Takigakure's prestigious clan medical clan, Kunikunosaku is also set to learn the human anatomy, biology, and Kinesthetics, While this knowledge DOES NOT give her access to Medical Ninjutsu Techniques, however, the knowledge does unlock abilities of precision to the human body with every attack. This knowledge grants field combat medic aid but nowhere near the degree of those actually trained in it.

By focusing chakra into the earth, the user forces several small plates of earth to shoot from below the target's feet anywhere within a ten meter radius of the user, slamming into their mid-section, robbing them of their movement and winding them. The fellow rushing towards Hotarubi was in for an unpleasant, and ultimately fatal surprise, as a barrage of stony shrapnel burst forth from the ground, showering the advancing opponent in a hail of stones which bruised flesh and cracked bone. However, a sharp sliver of rock serendipitously found its way into the fellow's skull burying itself deeply in the soft tissue that hid within the dome of the man's cranium. Without any further sound, he crashed silently to the earth, even as the Waterfall ninja ascended the side of the dam.

The earth-manipulating Takigakure ninja broke through the wall of the dam, entering a room which had a number of mechanical constructs, the most notable of them being a series of cogs connected in some fashion to a large lever, whose purpose could be immediately guessed by Hotarubi. And just as he crashed into the room, a rat-faced fellow burst open the door on the far side to the area through which the ninja had entered the room. His eyes locked with Hotarubi's, then he let out a shriek of some emotion that was borne of a mixture of fear, anger and frustration, as he lunged at the lever, hoping to beat Hotarubi to it, as though it could some how save his life.

Meanwhile, Kunikunosaku had done a very good job of taking out the trash. Everyone at least on her level was a corpse; all that was left was the giant, who was struggling with her Grudge. While he seemed to be doing a fair task of holding his own against it, the rocks that immobilized him, coupled with the tendril horror's embrace, made him unable to stop or avoid the weapon that sank into his chest. His eyes rolled backwards as blood spurted out of his mouth. At least it was a quick death for him.

It would be Hotarubi's worst design that the man should leap for the lever. If they were successful, and that was very possible - even Hotarubi would believe that they'd break the damn machinery and then it would be nigh unstoppable... well. It would have 'suceeded' under the original guise of the mission they'd sought out to do, but not the one that would actually end up being successful.

Hotarubi punched at the man, aiming for his midsection. But- being from across the room, what would happen was a sharpened lance as his hand turned into a spike shot across the room- thinning out along his shoulder as it took up the earth from his body to mould into the length needed to hopefully shoot right through the man's stomach and pin him to his current position, that was, hopefully far enough from the.

"Busy. Kill more." Hotarubi responded simply, focusing on his task at hand. And that he was! Kunikunosaku had done the leg work, though it hadn't been the route that he'd expected. That was fine (as long as he didn't fuck this one up, certainly!) The only thought the man had in his mind was to drop a dropping lid on the whole thing, and hope that did enough to stem a flow if it came to worst.

But, given his enhanced proclivities toward the Hijutsu, and the time he'd spent on enhancing his speed, it might've been enough. The man readied his next attack with the opposite arm instead, in case they were talented enough to dip under one that got buried in the wall behind it, for him to shoot out another.

DESCRIPTION:
This technique is another derivative of the normal earth sculpting techniques, but instead on using the earth around them the user utilizes the earth that they can turn into and shifts parts of their bodies into other objects (usually weapons like swords or hammers) and hardens it, or conversely revert their body parts back from the objects they have turned them into. Because the substance being manipulated is part of their bodies, it uses less chakra than its counterpart. The size and durability of the construct is restricted by the amount of earth/stone the body part has and the amount of chakra used to make the construct.


Terraformer
As a Yamakira and one who has focused entirely on his Hijutsu than other Ninjutsu elements, Hotarubi has earned his spot amongst the ranks of Takigakure's feared by simply being superior to almost any being on the earth with Doton. His ability to mould his body and Doton techniques is unparalleled. Hotarubi can form his body into large, complex shapes with absolute efficiency and frightening speed to perform feats of Nintaijutsu.

This speed carries over into his Doton ninjutsu: they are extremely faster than regular Doton performed by others, and large scale ninjutsu are formed in half the time.
