Midori is left panting a bit once she's actually out of the pit, arching her back hard to stretch out her back, leg, and arm muscles, so tired out from the climbing, and even manages to make her back let out a satisfying and audible popping noise that makes the raven-haired shinobi sigh with relief. Now the conversation catches her ears, and she finds her attention shifted to what the two are talking about, although she doesn't seem to be fully interested in what they're really saying. Although, Midori wouldn't really say anything, as she figured that the politics of the Yamakira clan were the business of the Yamakira clan, and their actions would need to be discussed among themselves. The kunoichi wasn't anybody's boss, and she certainly wasn't part of the Takigakure police force, so she really didn't have anything to add to the revelation that the Enforcer had basically lured the thieves or bandits into the sacred grounds in the first place.
Of course, if a member of the Netsu clan had invited an outsider to learn the Kesshoton Meditation training, they would have been killed, and probably the outsider, too, but that would have been Netsu business, and nobody else would have been interfering, save maybe Lord Ryu himself, should he choose to intervene. When Hotarubi looks to her, she seems somewhat busy cleaning the millipede's internal viscous fluids off her hands, and she shrugs back at the Chuunin, apparently not really interested in sticking her neck out for bandits that likely would have caused trouble for Takigakure eventually anyways. The thieves hadn't even been there for them to attack or to get any of the story out of, and it seems as though this Kiro person was really just looking to get a rise out of Hotarubi. So if the Chuunin responded, he'd have likely been met with violence, and Midori wouldn't have really been in much of a position to help.
Thankfully, it seems Hotarubi lets it go, though not with anything resembling actual acceptance. Not that Midori really expected anyone to accept the actions of Kiro, who had likely put something at risk by revealing the existence of these sacred burial grounds to outsiders, especially as it was at least somewhat near to the fake Takigakure village. She also wasn't going to say anything about it, at least not to Kiro. There was nothing for her to gain by doing so. Instead, she starts heading back towards the fake village, as it's the nearest place to get a quick shower and to clean her clothes, even if it wasn't the real Takigakure.
